So three things I have learnt today:

1. Because of the argument here I had to do a little research and despite the arguments, one thing is certain we all agree that Nollywood ("Not Hollywood or "Nigerian Hollywood" is patterned after Hollywood). So we can apply Hollywood standards to determine what Nollywood is and what it is not.

2. From my understanding of Hollywood it comprises movies shown in Cinemas, Soap Operas negating the position of earlier posters and this means that if Nollywood is our own version of Hollywood, we cannot discount history by deleting the contributions of our heroes past in the industry wherever they may have come from (we are one Nigeria.) Infact when you google Nollywood, the first thing that you see on Wikipedia is
"The cinema of Nigeria, often referred to informally as Nollywood".

3. In terms of commercial success, Papa Ajasco (1984) by Wale Adenuga became the first blockbuster, grossing approximately ₦61,000 (approx. 2015 ₦21,552,673) in three days. A year later, Mosebolatan (1985) by Moses Olaiya also went ahead to gross ₦107,000 (approx. 2015 ₦44,180,499) in five days.[18]
