Please for those that applied for undergraduate programs. How were you able to Submit your Academic Records (WAEC) because The University of Houston's website says "We prefer these to be submitted electronically through your school counselor via email or the Common Application. They can also be sent by mail to 4434 University Drive, Houston, TX 77204."

Please how were you able to do it thanks...also can NECO be used in place of WAEC

Merely invite your counselor when filling the common app then he'll be able to upload it as a PDF or DOCX file. All you need is his email, because that's where he'll get a link to upload it, he'll fill some forms too concerning ur School, upload ur transcript, school profile and a letter of recommendation from him. You also need his phone number too.

as far as I know most colleges dont require the SAT essay since you have to write supplemental essays. Don't worry your student won't be needing it.

Bro, I was just as excited as you when I downloaded my first code editor on my Android phone. It was good for practicing HTML and CSS. I began to hate it when it was time to code JavaScript. That was when I realised that these code editors are useless. Enjoy your practice for now until you get to coding JavaScript, then you will understand me better.

Regarding school criteria, the application is open to every student in a Nigerian secondary school. Selection criteria looks at the complete student.

If you represented your school in external competitions, like Olympiad, Cowbellpedia, etc., then your name should be on the list released by these bodies on their website. I know this because my daughter went through the process.

Yes they usually mention names on their website for state and National level not district level. Cuz I won several competitions in district level without getting an actual award or medal, just text books and study materials, it's in the state and National level that you get Prize in from of medals, Money, laptops etc

You can test them with mock test samples similar to actual material.. you can get sample questions online

I support this, but do you know that passing the mock isn't enough to get admission, you could pass the mock, get the sponsorship for standardized testing, ace the tests and still not gain admission—what a waste of resources when other students actually need it.

The mock could be conducted, olevel results and the equivalent should be considered too, ESSAYS one of the main factors that matters in getting into a US college, a 1500+ on the sat with average/bad essays or writing skills will end up in the reject pile. So I suggest:

MAIN FACTORS TO CONSIDER

1) Olevel or the equivalent + maybe the mock exam (if necessary) cuz IDK how he's gonna check if the students didn't cheat. This days the education system is corrupt, passing WAEC exam is Now about how fast you could write from the answers written on the board or dictated, especially private schools, people have A's they didn't work for na just settlement go make them pass.

2) ESSAY at least a 650 words essay is perfect to describe Why you want to study in the US, what you hope to achieve with your education and why you need sponsorship for the standardized testing, ability to write this essays well will help measure your chances of getting admitted into a college after getting the support instead of just passing the exam and getting rejected from colleges because of your inability to express yourself.

3) INTERVIEW: Ahh, if a student wrote WAEC in a miracle center, got someone to write their essays, this is the point to fish out such person, imagine getting straight A's, writing phenomenal essays and unable to defend yourself in an interview for an extremely competitive spot.

4) type of school attended, you mentioned less privileged, i believe my private school counter parts are doing well for their parents to afford 50k plus per term, how much is SAT? They'll support their children's future. Just leave it for public school students, Biko! unless they could prove that their parents can't actually afford it and substantiate the claim with genuine evidences.

There is a name you mentioned that has gotten SAT help from me recently ... how do you then check against people getting multiple help from various sources , perhaps maybe the first SAT wasnt as high....or didnt take the SAT. Not every sponsor has power for follow up . Although some cases the candidate get high SAT first try and good to go and it's all smooth sailing

It never an easy process to filter candidates so I think either here or education section both have + and - . ..

Did you get admitted into any college with little typos and grammatical errors in ur essays or other part of ur application? Cuz I'm curious if a PERFECT COLLEGE APPLICATION EXISTS ? I check Some essays posted online by admitted students and my grammar checker still show them as erroneous. Their error density is usually 1-2%

I proofread myself like thrice or more use online grammar checkers, spot few errors and corrected them, only to submit my apps and start spotting errors. Lol XD

I tried to make an international payment on the college board website, for the css profile (college scholarship service), then I got to the point of payment of a fee of $16 which I calculated at 400 naira/$1 = 400 x 16 = 6400, while I have 7300 in my account and it says "insufficient funds", while I was going to Gtbank back to back to create an account just to get a Naira MasterCard, i use sterling bank before but they asked me to present international passport or visa before they give me a MasterCard, immediately I got the naira MasterCard I transferred 7300 from my sterling account to the GTbank account. Now it's saying insufficient funds.

Please help

NB: I've activated the ATM card, still don't know what's wrong.

It depends.

Most schools require or recommend the SAT. Some claim to be test optional, but will hold it against you if you dont submit test scores. If you are applying only to top schools and no HBCUs, then you won't need an evaluation.

I haven't seen anyone use their NECO results, but I think you can use it. The problem with NECO is that they rarely give As, so even the best students have average transcripts.
