mctowel01: Bro, i think you need to be calm. I think you re being insensitive here. I consider myself to be fully responsible for the events of my travel plans, despite being amidst certain variable circumstances. I graduated this year so you all know the complications in instantly funding travel plans especially with patriotic sponsors. Its not akin to withdrawing money directly from an atm. At least you had your personal savings. They say the person wearing a shoe knows where its itching him the most. Nonetheless, I know i have to be more aggressive in my plans, but you make it sound like i ve just been lax. You don't know how crazy its been for me especially in the past few days. Thanks for the advice, but i would have appreciated if you showed more understanding. Wow!, here I am thinking that am d only one facing this dilemma, I understand where you are coming from my friend, I only have 13 days left to submit my application yet am only able to get half of the dollars that I need considering the fact that the cost of the visa has doubled due forex, even so called friends in diaspora are not willing to help cos it's a very lucrative biz 4 dem right now, some of us don't have ppl in Australia let alone talking about 'trust', it would be nice if someone on this forum could come to our aid in terms of helping us to pay over there as time is running out. I personally would appreciate any help I can get. Thanks guys. |

doyen06: Please can we comment on this post please Well my VETASSESS assessment was almost 4 months before completion, I guess it all depends on your case officer, the period is supposed to be between 2 to 3 months max according to their website tho. Just pray and do a little follow up mail if taking too long, try to be diplomatic in addressing ur assessment officer. I hope this answers your question. |

amazingraze: Thanks cuteannie02, I really appreciate. My task is focused more on poultry .Does this mean I don't have to bother about the forestry part? Thanks Yes, u should be fine, u don't have to mention forestry since ur employment reference won't state that, poultry alone is fine, don't forget to draft ur reference letter in line with the anzsco description before signing with ur employer |

amazingraze: Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this wonderful thread, I’ve really benefitted from the wealth of info here. I want to nominate agricultural consultant for assessment with VETASSESS but need to ask a few question before going ahead.
1. What 5 major task does VETASSESS accept for agricultural consultant? I’ve gone through ANZSCO but the occupation task for agricultural consultant seems to be merged with that of agricultural and forestry scientist. 2. Does VETASSESS rate B.Sc. from Ahmadu Bello University as AQF bachelor? 3. I read online that someone got a negative assessment due to low learning/guided hours per week. What number of learning hours per week is appropriate to get positive assessment for agricultural consultant?
@bellong, OmogeNG cuteannie02, Okosay…….and others who are familiar with VETASSESS, your contributions will be appreciated. Thanks I streamlined the tasks listed in the anzsco description with my roles on the job, as an agricultural consultant, u most likely focus on a specific aspect such as, crop production or specific animals such as poultry, so tailor the task in line with the aspects u focused on at work and not forget the keypoints listed in anzsco. For ur second and 3rd question, I don't know much about ur institution, mine was a 5year degree uni, and I got AQF bachelor's, I don't know much about 4year degree unis, ppl with similar schools will be more helpful. |

sammywemmy: U can either get a Dom acct and load up with dollars from black market. There r no restrictions on a dollar card. The other option is to use the card of a friend outside the country and make the payment. U and her will decide on settlement in naira. Those r d two options I can proffer. Thanks for your suggestions @sammywemmy |

Good day everyone, please has anyone recently made their visa payment?, what rate did you get and which bank, I am trying to see if I can cut costs due to this harsh times, I got 289 today from gtb, plus, how were you able to overcome the monthly limit problem, I have barely a month left to lodge. I was advised by the bank to transfer some of the funds to a friend's account to complete payment, is that even going to work?, please I need your inputs urgently. Thank you |

ugsams: Reading your post on this thread has been a motivation to me. I feel very encouraged when I saw that you received a positive assessment from the same assessing body (VETASSESS) and in the same field that I intend going for and now your ITA, hence I seek your support in the way of information. I finished with a second class upper division in Agricultural Economics & Extension Services from a federal university in Nigeria. I sent you a PM hoping that I could ask you some questions through the medium.
1. Did you finish from a Nigerian university? If yes please how did you address the transcript to VETASSESS and which courier service did you use?
Was it your school that sent it directly to them or you received from school and send to them? Please, if you don't mind, elucidate on how you went about it.
2. (a) Did they call you for further interview about the job experience which you claimed or anything else?
(b) Did you include your NYSC under the experience?
(c) If I have less than 5 years experience on the field but up to 3 years do you think it will be a problem?
(d) Besides payslip and an employment reference letter that you uploaded did they requested that you add any additional proof?
(e) How many months payslip did you submit online?
(f) Was the payslip in sequence or was it selected from different years?
(g) If I will like to add my bank statement, how many months do you think will be accepted as the minimum?
3. Please if you don't mind which of the skills did you go for?
***Please feel free to skip any of my questions which you don't feel comfortable with. I also know that many of my questions has been answered before now just that i want a first hand answer from you. Meanwhile, I still wish I'll be able to talk to you off Nairaland through mail or any other medium but that will be if you oblige me. Thanks Hi, coincidentally I also nominated agric consultant, yes I finished from a Nigerian federal uni too I didn't include my nysc as I don't have any evidence to show that it was a paid employment My school sent d transcripts via courier, am not sure my certificate was included, however I uploaded a scanned copy Yes, they called me for interview but my employer wasn't contacted I put in 4years plus I got 3years 7months, reason, a compulsory pre-qualification period, hence, if you need d 5points, put in at least 4years to guarantee 3years experience I only submitted payslips and reference letter, I was not asked for anything else 3payslips per year, ensure ur first and last payslips are included Make them sequential, and in a single file As per the pm thingy, sorry, I don't know how pms on Nairaland work. You can ask ur questions here so others can benefit. Cheers |

Hi, if you have uploaded all required documents and sent ur transcripts to them, all that is left is to wait and pray, if ur friend attended the same school with you, they might not notice, try and double check everything, then wait, if ur CO requires anything else, he will send you a mail. Cheers
u were right to click full assessment and as per your project, I will advise you check your transcript to get the actual duration or check with your school curriculum cos whatever you fill will be crosschecked with ur transcripts, check ur project report for more information. Cheers |

catchdwind4rmkd: Hello, From your post, it seems you hardly receive feedback. Well, I think you post on the wrong threads. The title of the thread gives you an idea the sort of information participants can provide. I happen to have used thus thread before that's why I was notified of your post.
For instance, this thread is mainly to locate Nigerians in Australia which is aimed at guiding interested migrants to arrive at cities where they can feel at home by meeting other country men. You don't expect to get high traffic of people concerned about PR to this thread. You don't also expect students to know the required information about PR, so using the thread for Australian Students won't help either.
Please follow the thread below and start reading from the first page for detailed information on PR:
https://www.nairaland.com/3053069/general-guide-australian-permanent-resident
Best Wishes
I Thanks for the link, I actually posted here deliberately cos I was targeting ppl who are living and working in Australia already for first hand information, though I also posted on the other thread, I believe ppl who are already in the system will be able to provide information on Australian employment processes better than new immigrants, many thanks for taking time to repond to me. Cheers |
Travel › Re: Where Are Nigerians In Australia . by cuteannie02: 10:58pm On Aug 14, 2016 |
catchdwind4rmkd: Once you get your PR, you're not restricted to work in any specific occupation. For as much as you've the required skills set and qualifications for any role, you can apply for that role. Employers don't have to review your skills assessment. Your resume, credentials and other relevant documents will suffice.
Best wishes And someone finally responded to my query Thanks so much for your response, I am relieved reading this. God bless you |

Thanks for your response to my previous question @mr bellong
I have another one please and please.
I need clarification on an issue, I am a PR applicant with two different professional background, let's say agriculture and customer service, I nominated agriculture based on correlation with my degree and result was positive, on getting to Australia, can I mention my experience in customer service if I find a similar role?, will employers request for my skill assessment certificate before recruitment? Noting that it doesn't say anything about customer service, or will my employment documents from Nigeria be enough to prove my experience, please educate me. Thank you |

jorgan: For those that are yet to pay their fees, I will give u the following advice:-
- use any of the leading banks in Nigeria to process your payment (First bank, Union bank, Gtbank or Stanbic IBTC)
- Don't let the restriction on forex discourage you, the earlier you fill the form A, the better for you.
- When you fill the Form A with any of the listed banks above, no matter what do not withdraw your application. Just make sure that the bank has stamped and signed where neccessary and has submitted your application to their headquarters.
- It can take as long as 4 weeks for the bank to supply your application with forex. So be patient
- Donot put your eggs in one basket. Explore other means to get your school fees across.
Goodluck Thanks for your response, please I want to ask, can d vetassess payment be made by bank draft as opposed to form A, it's listed as one of the options on their website,, please house, what are your thoughts? |
