The Ogun State Police Command on Thursday reportedly invaded the Redemption Camp of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, and arrested not less than 236 people inside the auditorium, New Telegraph reports.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP Muyiwa Adejobi, who made this disclosure, said the exercise followed series of reports and intelligence gathering on how people with questionable character use the auditorium as refuge after committing crime. Adejobi said,

“Our men carried out the raid inthe early hours of Thursday after a series of report that criminals have taken the RCCG Auditorium at Kilometre 46, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, as hideout. “As early as 2am, they arrested 236 persons,165 are males while 71 are females.

“The suspects are currently being screened. Those who have genuine reason to be at the auditorium for prayer would be released while those who cannot identify themselves would be prosecuted,” the PPRO added.

Diego Maradona has blasted his compatriot and former player Lionel Messi on Live TV without knowing he was being recorded, claiming the Barcelona star lacks the character to be a leader for the national team.

At the "Hublot Loves Football" event in Parison Thursday, Brazil legend Pele asked Maradona if he knew Lionel Messi personally, and Maradona spoke his mind forgetting he was on live TV. He said:

"He's a really good person, but he has no personality," Maradona said."He lacks [the] character to be a leader."Pele responded: "Ah, I get it, he's not like we were back in the days. In the 70s we [Brazil] had really good players like Rivellino, Gerson,Tostao."Not like Argentina now, which depends only on Messi.

Midfielder Michael Carrick has signed a new one year deal with Manchester United after Jose Mourinho convinced him to stay with the club for one more season.

Carrick, 34, signed for United in July 2006. During his time at the club, he has won five Premier League titles, an FA Cup, one League Cup, a FIFA Club World Cup, and a UEFA Champions League.

Things took an awkward turn during the "The Good, The Bad and The Funny" show by popular comedian Bash which held at Shell Hall, Muson Centre, Lagos. Terry G took his anger at the DJ after he changed to Olamide song, durosoke, while he was still performing.

DJ Phreez who happens to be a trainee DJ under DJ Jimmy Jatt was the one playing and was unlucky to have been at the receiving end of the ‘hot’ slap.

When asked by THENETNG on the matter, When we reached out to Jimmy Jatt who seemed pretty upset with Terry G, he said,

"I think it was a reaction of an unruly artiste. The DJ has been coordinating the performances without issues. Terry G wasn’t even billed to perform. He called the organizer and begged to perform then they gave him a time frame and he used more than his time. The organizers used their voice-over guy to call him from the backstage that his time was over and he said if he hears the voice he’ll cause trouble’.Dj Jimmy Jatt who was in the audience continued to say,‘ Then he went on to perform about three more songs. He was messing up and people were leaving while he was performing. The organizers were losing crowd and they went to tell the DJ to stop playing his songs so Terry G can get off the stage.‘ But he didn’t leave the stage – he continued performing and making music with his bell and he wasn’t leaving still, so they went back to the DJ and told him to play another artiste’s song, and my boy obliged.

‘All of a sudden, Terry G walked straight to the DJ and gave him the most dazzling of slaps, the boy was dazed. Then he left the venue immediately because I went back stage immediately to try and talk to him. I was pissed and was going to shut down the performance for the night but I thought of it again because it wasn’t the organizers fault’.

When asked if he’ll press charges against Terry G, he said,‘I personally will request a public apology from him just so we have a gentleman’s agreement, because I feel I was the one slapped. Apart from that, if it wasn't my boy involved and an artiste slaps a DJ in my presence, I’ll stand up for the DJ’.

Operarives of the Rivers State Police Command have rescued an 11-year-old boy identified as Chisom Okafor from four men suspected to be ritual killers.

Chisom’s abductors had taken him away on May 1, 2016 after a friend to his father, Okorie, sent him on an errand. Chisom, who hails from Ndimoko community in Anambra State, was said to have be whisked away by his abductors in a Sport Utility Vehicle.



Chisom, who could not express himself clearly in English Language, said he was blindfolded up to a point by his captors and was only left to go when the police stop the vehicle conveying him.

Explaining that he was a son of a carpenter, Chisom said his father had a week before his abduction taken him to Okorie to learn a trade.

He said, “I was taken away by four men from Ndimoko. I am Chisom from Ndimoko in Anambra State. They blindfolded me and I did not know where I was. They removed the blindfold when they got to police checkpoint.

“They drove away after I got down from the vehicle when the police said they wanted to search the vehicle. The police are still looking for how they can take me to my parents,” Chisom said.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ahmad Muhammad, told newsmen that Chisom was rescued by policemen who were on a stop-and-search on Eliozu Bridge in Port Harcourt.

Muhammad said the four suspects escaped after the boy (Chisom) came down first on the directive by the police that occupants of the vehicle should come down for a thorough search of the SUV.

“It was at that point that the suspects left the boy behind and zoomed off. After several questions, the boy made us to realise that he was kidnapped by suspected ritualists.

“We suspect the four men are ritualists because the father of the boy is just a carpenter. We have intensified investigation to ensure we get those behind the boys kidnap.

“We are also working towards locating the community of the boy with a view to reuniting him with his parents,” the state Police spokesman said.

Muhammad urged the parents and other relatives of Chisom not to panic, adding that the police was making arrangement to locate the victim’s community after his rescue.

A new season of popular Friday night comedy programme "The Bigger Friday Show" made its debut on Friday, April 29, 2016. The first episode featured Davido pranked with the help of fellow HKN artiste, B-Red.

In the episode, a group of men arrived Davido's house to demand for a refund of the money they paid into his account for a show. According to the strangers, the "Aye" singer failed to show up.

As I staggered down the dark lonely street of Lagos. I could feel a dusty wind powdering it's way across my face, ruining my hunger for food with the gritty taste of sand. My rat-eaten feet kept brushing against hard gravels that made every step a living hell. With no one to turn to or trust, every sound of knockouts and bangers i heard immersed me in a pool of trepidation. One more and I was sure I would lose it. And there it went off with a loud bang that shook every spine and bones in my body. I stumbled a few steps against the iron bars of a nearby shop, holding it close to my bosom and sliding myself down to the ground. I wept bitterly with every vein in me as flashes of that horrific night filled my soul. It was definitely the worst day of my life.

Gazing at myself in the mirror, I could see the proud look in Inna's eyes as she applied kadanya (shea butter) on my fair skin. Mother was filled with so much joy as she anticipated my marriage ceremony to Audu the next day.

There was a knock on the door perfectly timed to ruin this beautiful mother-daughter moment. It was my younger sister, Farra, who looked so radiant in her red sari, jewelries and henna painted fingers.

"Inna, papa requests your presence in the parlour. Audu and his family are around"

"Okay dear, I'm coming" Mum said wiping off light tears from her eyes an making for the door. Farra always had that natural graceful look that made heads turn and me envious too. I knew tommorow was going to be the happiest day of my life if the joyous laughter I was hearing was anything to go by. Just then I heard a loud bang and screams. A gunshot was fired to the roof and it threw me off my chair. What really could be happening? I could hear voices of men chanting "Allahu Akbar" in a devilish joy. A masked man in black stormed into my room and dragged me by my hair to the parlour. Before I could assimilate what was happening, Audu's head was rolling on the floor. Gunshots started to rain and his entire family was wiped out. We were still in shock as the men kept chanting Allahu Akbar.

"Wanda shi ne mutum na haikalin?" The man holding the boko haram flag barked asking who the man of the house is.

"Allahu Akbar" A thin tall man screamed and his fellows responded. Papa was dragged to the centre table and forced to kneel. One more chant and in a flash his bloodied head was on the floor. His headless body shook splashing his blood on my face. Mama, Farra and I watched in horror as papa was being mutilated by these animals. We were speechlessly in shock. Mama sprung free from the man holding her, rushed towards a man jumping for joy, grabbed his gun and shot the bastard that killed papa. The sect members were in rage and they blessed her with a rain of bullets. A short ugly man ripped my shirt off and his fellow did the same to Farra exposing our unclothedness. They all brutally took turns to rape us continually with their large manhood. The beasts feasted on us to their satisfaction till Farra gave up the ghost. I cried watching the pain in her eyes as she succumbed to the grasp of death. I wished for death to come quickly. The shock of everything knocked me unconscious. They left us dead for good excitedly.
Only God knows how long it took for me to wake up to the thin line of sanity. i was bleeding profusely but the sight and stench of lifeless bodies was driving me nuts. The lifeless bodies of Audu's relatives, papa and audu's head, their headless bodies,mama's gun riddled body, Farra's half nude abused corpse and the ocean of blood was horrific. I tried standing but I felt a sharp pain in my cervix. I had to use my sari to cover my private part. I wept for centuries and generations to come. Where had we gone wrong? What had we done to deserve this?

After a while, I got up, had a quick shower, dressed up and fled. How I got to Lagos still remains a mystery but ever since, I have lived live a pauper. Resorting to begging to survive. It's a merry season around the world. It is a brand new year, a week straight up from the Christmaas celebration. Everyone seems happy. Children dressed in black blinding glasses, oversize clothes and heavily colourful boots, Santa Claus sharing resemblance with the horrific masquerade in ny village, bangers and knockouts booming around, unending street carnivals filled with drunk personalities already in high places, parents filled with smiles and everyone is joyous but just very few spend their time with the less privileged. I have witnessed the pain, hardship, hunger, tears and so much more beggars feel. Please if you are reading this, don't wait for anyone to do you good. Do good to someone. Please touch a life today. Don't forget the reason for the season...Make this season worth that reason

Let's not forget this as January draws to an end and as we proceed in the year. God bless us all
