A registered sex-offender allegedly carried off a six-year-old who was in church with her family and sexually assaulted her in a bathroom while he stifled her screams. William Brandon Coffey is accused of grabbing the girl while she was on her way to the toilet at the Body of Hope Church in Raleigh in North Carolina on Tuesday.

Court documents state he carried her to the men's bathroom and "covered the mouth of the victim when she attempted to scream".

When he had finished assaulting her he then kissed her and let her go, according to Investigator A. J. Doughty.

When the girl came back to her parents, Doughty wrote, they saw that she had urinated on herself and asked what had happened. They called police, but Coffey had left the church before officers arrived.

Coffey, who appeared in court yesterday, is being remanded in custody.

According to court documents, he served two years and three months in prison for kidnapping and molesting a 9-year-old girl at a north Raleigh apartment complex in May of 2009.

Raleigh police said he encountered the girl as she was walking from the pool. Authorities said Coffey "touched her inappropriately."

In a statement, Body of Christ Church said that while it has stringent procedures in place for all personnel working with children, Coffey was not a church member and was visiting a men's Bible study group when the alleged attack happened.

"Our ultimate concern and care now and has always been for the child and family involved," it said.

Three people lost their lives after a plaza in the popular Lagos market was gutted by fire yesterday September 3rd. The plaza was used as a store house for shoes and bags. Immediately occupants of the plaza, which os closely surrounded by some bank buildings, saw the fire, some of them ran hastily through the staircase while others jumped. A woman who tried to jump was said to have fallen with hard impact on the ground causing her skull to burst open.

Many others had bone fracture as they jumped through the staircase. The men of the Lagos state fire service after many hours of battle were able to put off the fire. See photos below...

A gospel singer and founder of Hilltop House music training school, Olowakemi Arowojolu, has said she cannot work with any artiste whose works do not glorify God, no matter the worth of the collaboration.

Speaking with Punch Newspapers on her soon-to-released videos – Women Arise and Kpologo –Arowojolu says she is “first a minister of God before a musician.” Arowojolu has released four albums while her forthcoming videos are directed by Oluyinka Davids. According to her, music is not all about money-making and being famous but a medium to impact the society. For her, she has chosen to focus on appealing to the spiritual needs of the society.

“Everywhere I go, I tell them I am a minister of God. I use music as a vehicle to minister to people. That is why whenever I sing or speak, it is always about God.

“In short, most of my songs come from divine inspiration. I could be walking on the road and the songs will come. I don’t sit down to write songs, they come naturally,” she says.

Arowojolu’s journey to full-time musical career followed an unfamiliar path. A chemical and polymer engineering graduate from the Lagos State University, Ojo, she taught for a short period after her study. After that, she went into banking.

But she left banking after a year for a stint in management consulting, a job she dumped in 2011 to embrace her passion.

On her banking career, she recalls, “I went into banking, maybe because of money. But I was not enjoying myself because I was not cut out for banking. I knew that from the first day. So, the job was very stressful.

“When one is passionate about something, one will enjoy it even if is stressful. But if one does not have passion, the stress will overwhelms one. That was exactly what I experienced when I was a banker.”

The ex-bank worker started singing at a tender age. But her father’s insistence that she faced her education squarely, she says, prevented her from embracing music at a younger age.

“I obeyed my father. So, in 2011 when I said I was going to the studio, some people were surprised because I had not done professional music for several years,” she recalls.

Having returned fully to music, she adds that she wants to use her voice for God, noting that many gospel musicians have deviated from their calling and because they are not devoted to the service of God.

She continues, “Many people may be calling God in their music. But one should practise what one preaches because there is a place of integrity and honour in whatever one does. People do a lot of thing for fame and money. But I have chosen to remain focus.”

“This is why I cannot go into partnership with an artiste whose music does not please God. I am not motivated by money. When one stays in the place of one’s assignment, you will be lifted.

“The assignment God has given to me is clear: to inspire hope. It is not to make money. I will not do it for any price. I believe the church can make a difference. When there is somebody that has a vision, the church should be able to assist.”

Adam Ward, the WDBJ-TV cameraman who was murdered alongside journalist Alison Parker yesterday, Wednesday, Aug. 26, was engaged to a producer at the station named Melissa Ott, who had to watch his tragic death from the control room after former employee Vester Flanagan allegedly shot and killed him.

It has emerged that her wedding dress arrived the same day she watched the shocking on-air shooting.Months earlier, Ward and Melissa Ott had made their own news, announcing their engagement to acrew of happy colleagues in their Virginia newsroom. So smitten wasWard with Melissa that he was following her to Charlotte, N.C., where Ott had taken a new job.

It was Melissa’s last day on the job.It turned out to be Ward’s last day on earth, too.Ward was videotaping reporter Alison Parker’s live interview with a Chamber of Commerce official when a gunman calmly walked up and opened fire on the trio.

Parker and Ward died in the early-morning sneak attack, which also wounded Vicki Gardner, but not before Ward, as he lay dying, managed to capture an image of the menacing man who killed him.That image — determined gunman, evil sneer, steady hand — led authorities to quickly identify Vester Lee Flanagan II, a.k.a. Bryce Williams, as a suspect in the brutal execution-style shootings.

Flanagan, a former reporter at thestation, said in a tweet after the shooting that Ward had complained about him to human resources before he was fired.

According to Xerox Magazine, When confronted by law enforcement on the Bedford County-Franklin County eastbound of I-66, the killer, Flanagan crashed his car and shot himself. He was pronounced dead at 1:26 p.m. ET at a local hospital, Virginia.

A stunning new route opened in Hubei province, central China, on August 9. Incredible images of the new road shows that drivers are literally travelling over water as the 6.8-mile motorway is built in the middle of a river valley.

The spectacular road connects Xingshan County in Hubei to G42, a high-speed route that connects Shanghai in eastern China to Chengdu in south west China, reported People's Daily Online.

The 6.8 mile road is built on top of a bridge that follows the curve of the river valley. It will cut down travel time from Xingshan to G42 to just 20 minutes. The journey originally took close to an hour along a steep and convoluted road. Drivers along the route are treated to breathtaking views of the valley as well as the river and nearby villages.

The new route has already been dubbed the 'over-water highway'.

Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS ), Major General Tukur Yusuf Buratai narrowly escaped on Saturday ashis convoy was ambushed by suspected Boko Haram gunmen while coming from Maiduguri to Dikwa, near the border with Cameroon.

The Inspector-General of Police, Solomon Arase, has jettisoned decades old rule imposed on hospitals not to treat suspicious people with gunshot wounds.

Now under international demands for the observance of human rights, the IGP ordered today that members of the public, including medical personnel, should attend to accident victims and persons with gunshot injuries and thereafter, inform the Police for necessary action. According to Arase:

“This became imperative, following neglects and consequent untimely death of victims in this regard out of fear of being implicated without Police involvement.”
The Police High Command also directed its Officers and men not to harass good Samaritans/Nigerians in this regard, but endeavour to elicitcorrect facts in relation to incidents from them.Doctors on duty are, according to the new rule, equally duty bound to treat victims of gunshot wounds and further inform Police of relevant facts. It added:

“The safety of Nigerians is a collaborative effort of all and sundry. Policetherefore, enjoin citizens not to relent in their cooperative attitude in ensuring safety of all. While they are also to report any suspicious person or persons to the nearest Police Station.’’

The United Nations Secretary-General, Mr Ban Ki-moon, will visit Nigeria from August 23 to 24 and will meet with President Muhammadu Buhari and State Governors.

Talks during the meetings with the nation’s leaders would focus on “Pathways to a new Nigeria-Role of Sub-National Governments”.

Mr Ki-Moon will also lay wreath to commemorate the 4th Anniversary of the attack on the United Nation’s House, in Abuja and embark on a field visit to Kuje Area Council.During the two-day visit,he will also hold dialogue and lunch with Nigerian Business actorsunder the theme “The role of Nigerian Business and Economy in Implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and addressing Climate Change”.

The UN Secretary-General will further hold talks aimed at deepening Nigeria’s democracy with government officials on the theme “Democracy, Sustainable Development, and Countering Violent Extremism”.

The highpoint of Mr Ki-moon’s visit will be his meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari, which will be rounded off with a joint press conference.There will also be a dinner hosted by President Buhari in honour of the esteemed guest.

Mr Ki-moon’s visit is coming in the month that Nigeria is presiding over the UN Security Council and most African countries have said they wouldleverage on the opportunity to present security challenges facing some African countries. They expect to get the Council’s support in addressing the challenges.

On Wednesday, the UN called forsupport for nearly 1.5 Internally Displaced Persons in Nigeria’s north-east,as a result of terrorists activities.

Earlier today the Nigerian industry had a bit of a scare when reports that Five Star Music act, Skiibii had passed away at the age of 22.

According to the report, the singer collapsed in his sitting room and died. However, a few minutes ago Kcee called Linda Ikeji to say Skiibii hadn't died. Kcee said he received the news of his collapse this morning but said he wasn't sure what was going on because he was not in Nigeria. Kcee also said his brother told him Skiibii had been found with no pulse and wasn't breathing. They apparently rushed him to the hospital and after hoursthere, he was revived.

Now as you can imagine, Nigerians are calling bs on this story, and claiming that Skiibii only faked his death as a publicity stunt. (Skiibii is trending now in Nigeria by the way, and a number of celebrities including Wizkid and Davido took to social media to share their condolences which they have now taken down.)

Amidst all of this drama though, upcoming Nigerian actor, Mike Godson, is standing up to Skiibii's defence and you really need to read what he is now saying. Japanese police have arrested a man accused of bursting into a lawyer's office and cutting off his penis with garden shears before flushing it down a toilet.

Media reports said Ikki Kodukai, a 24-year-old Tokyo graduate student, may have carried out the horrifying act in revenge over his wife's romantic involvement with the 42-year-old victim.

Police said Kodukai, who was arrested shortly after the alleged attack, punched the unnamed lawyer several times before prying off his pants and then severing his 'lower body part' with the shears.

It is not the first time a p*nis has ended up down a toilet as a result of a s3xual encounter. In Peru in 2012 a jealous wife sliced off her husband's p*nis and flushed it away.

An 11 year old Paraguayan girl who was raped by her 42 year old step father identified as Gilberto Benitez Zárate, gave birth to a babygirl at a Paraguayan hospital today August 13th.

Gilberto who is married to the girl's mother, ran after what he did to the young girl was made pubic. He was later arrested and on interrogation, denied raping the girl and demanded a DNA test.

News of her rape gained international attention after she was discovered in May to be pregnant at age 10 and was refusedto be granted an abortion by the Paraguyan government

Paraguay has one of the strongest laws against abortion in the world. Amnesty international and some other rights organization had called for the termination of the pregnancy of the little girl because of the psychological trauma she willundergo but the Paraguayan government maintained their stand, saying the 11 year old girl will be given the much needed attention for her to give birth normally.

She gave birth by C-section to a girl that weighed 3.5 kilos (eight pounds). They say she and her daughter are doing very well medically.

The police have arraigned a 37-year-old manager, Nonso Onyeji, for stealing his company’s N1.7m.Onyeji was arraigned before a Yaba Magistrates’ Court, Lagos.The matter reportedly occurred between August and October, 2013.

The company, Ritbath Cargo Company, Ajao Estate, Lagos, was said to have been managed by one Ugochukwu Rita. It was learnt that Onyeji headed a branch of the company in Onitsha, Anambra State.

However, Onyeji allegedly remitted the returns on sales into his personal account instead of thecompany’s account.It was learnt that he gave out his personal bank account number to customers, into which they made their payments.

According to Punch Metro, Onyeji was subsequently arrested and arraigned in court.He was charged with fraud, conspiracy and stealing. The charges read in part,

“That you, Nonso Onyeji, between August and October, 2013, on Alhaji Lukman Street, Ajao Estate, Lagos, did steal the sum of N1.7m from one Ugochukwu Rita, and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 285 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.”

Onyeji pleaded not guilty. The magistrate, Mrs. O. A. Erinle, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N250,000.

The matter was adjourned till September 7, 2015.

The death of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade, has brought up many controversies.

First, there were disputes about whether he had really died, then disagreement over the curfew in the state and now the ‘Abobaku’. The Abobaku has reportedly run away after the death of the prestigious Oba. If the tweet below is to be believed, it means the final rites on behalfof the deceased Ooni of Ife might be stalled.

A former beauty pageant queen is facing jail after lying about suffering from cancer and pocketing money raised to pay for her 'treatments'.Brandi Lee Weaver-Gates, 23, of Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, led her local community to believe that she had been diagnosed with a form of leukemia in 2013. Since then, she has been the benefactor for several fundraisers, the most recent of which was held earlier this year, raising $14,000.


Ms Weaver-Gates first told friends and family that she had been diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukemia in March two years ago,CNN reports. Over the years, Ms Ms Weaver-Gates took part in a number of charity events to raise money for her treatment, allegedly pocketing the cash herself. The former winner of Miss Pennsylvania U.S. International, also shaved her head to make it appear as if she had undergone chemotherapy, local media reports.

After an anonymous tip earlier this year, police began investigating Ms Weaver-Gates cancer claims, and found no evidence that she had ever been treated by a medical facility for cancer. State Police Trooper Thomas Stock called her efforts to make people believe she had cancer 'an elaborate scheme'. Ms Weaver-Gates was arrested on Tuesday and has been charged with theft by deception and receiving stolen property. Pageant organizers have said they have revoked her crown.

She is due in court next week.

Shocking Tiger Shark Measuring 18 FOOT Caught In Australia Beach


A gigantic six-metre tiger shark's corpse has had its jaw stripped out to be kept as a trophy after it was hauled onto a fishing boat off the Australian coast over the weekend.

According to Geoff Brooks who posted the two images of the 18 foot shark on Facebook on Tuesday, the tiger shark was 'caught off 7 Mile Beach' near Lennox Head, on the northern New South Wales coast, at some stage last week. He said "As far as I'm aware, It was a kill order on a shark here on the far north coast that was identified as being responsible for a local attack. And yes - it's real".

Imagine coming face to face with such a creature while you're in the sea....

Khulu Reinfirst Manyuka (73) AKA Jesus of Zimbabwe has died of malnutrition after he attempted to emulate the 40 days and night fast of Jesus of Nazareth.

Mr Khulu Manyuka reportedly left home on 15 June this year headed to the bush to conduct prayers, redirecting his attention to God, away from things of the earth. Manyuka was known by his family and community at large as a very spiritual person whose faith could move mountains. His death puzzled those dearest to him. A close relative who chose to speak on condition of anonymity broke the news.

“He was a very spiritual man. It’s unfortunate he had to die this way,” said a close relative.Manyuka was driven to the wilderness by the urge to emulate Christ but sadly he did not equal or break Christ’s record.“After a month we got the sad news of his death,” added the relative.

Family members said Manyuka had no history of illness.“He was a healthy and religious oldman who did not even look his age,” revealed one family member.

The exact day of his death remainsa mystery to both his family and friends as he was alone in the wilderness. His body was found by a stranger who then alerted the police. The police said Manyuka is not the first to die from fasting — numerous other cases have been reported.

“We have received such reports before, but we cannot stop the public from fasting,” police spokesperson said. (LIB)

Samuel Sochukwuma Okwaraji......... ( 19 May 1964- 12 August 1989) was a professional footballer who played internationally for Nigeria. He was also a qualified lawyer who had a masters in International law from the University of Rome.

He collapsed and died of congestive heart failure in the 77th minutes of a World Cup qualification match against Angola at the National Stadium Surulere Lagos on August 12 1989. Okwaraji collapsed ten minutes from the end of a world cup qualifier against Angola.

An autopsy showed that Sam Okwaraji had an enlarged heart and high blood pressure.

A man who claimed to be a medical doctor, Taiwo Ogunlana and a nurse, Kafayat Oyekola, have been arraigned before an Ebute Metta Magistrates' Court, Lagos State, for carrying out an illegal abortion on one Miss Kemi Awoniyi.

Ogunlana, who claimed to have attended Lagos State University Teaching Hospital School of Nursing between 1979 and 1983, worked with the National Orthopedic Hospital, Igbobi, Lagos. He was also said to have been sponsored by the hospital authorities for Post-Basic Theatre course in 1987 and is presently the proprietor of Amu Medical Clinic registered by the Lagos State Private Hospital Authority and situated at 4, Church Street, Dalemo.

He told the court that Awoniyi was brought to his facility on July 6 at about 6:30 p.m. by the nurse. He said the nurse told him that the lady had taken some drugs which resulted in abdominal pain for three days.

"When I checked her, I discovered that there was a foul odour emanating from her vagina and protrusion of the foetus which was already dead. The lady was cleaned and taken to bed to relax before going home. I charged N25,000 for the treatment but she said that she would contact her boyfriend whom I have not met before. This she did and the boyfriend said he would require my bank details to send money to me which he did not send up till now."

He added that Kemi said she wanted to go home because she was afraid that her father would find out.

"She started feeling dizzy and I had to ask her to stay in the hospital only to discover that she was pale. I immediately ordered that she receive two pints of blood," he said.

Ogunlana added that the nurse had worked with him for six months as an intern and had brought many patients to him for abortion which he did successfully, adding that she got commission for any patient she brought. It was gathered the the victim was six-month pregnant before the abortion was carried out.

Speaking at the court, the nurse said the lady came to her and told her that she was having body pains because of some tablets she used.

"I asked her to come back on Monday which she did and on that day, I realised that she had a very bad odour coming out of her body. I took her to a doctor in Sango Ota who checked her and discovered that the tablet she took had affected her pregnancy," the nurse said. The charge against the duo read:

"That you, Taiwo Ogunlana and Kafayat Oyekola, on the 6th day of July 2015 at Oke-odo area of Lagos State, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did unlawfully carry out abortion on one Oluwakemi Awoniyi, aged 31 years and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 145 of the criminal laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2011".

The two of them pleaded not guilty to the charges. The magistrate, Mr. L.A Layeni, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties each in the like sum. The matter was adjourned till August 31.
