A 24-year-old trader, Chinedu Eneje, who fled from the Northernpart of the country in order to save his life from the onslaught of the dreaded Boko Haram insurgents, has, unfortunately, been killed by armed robbers.

He was killed a few days after returning to the warm embrace of members of his family by bandits who laid siege to the Adani/Nsukka Expressway in Enugu State.

*.How the robbers attacked

Narrating how the latest incident took place, the driver of the commuter bus, who gave his nameas Ifeanyi Ogba, told Crime Guard that the attack was his third experience along the road, adding that the robbers blocked the road along a sharp bend near Ikwuoka, emerged from the bush, ordered everybody to lie flat on the ground and robbed them one after the other. They also took their luggageand dashed into the bush.

“The robbers fired their guns immediately we were stopped, shot me in my left hand while a stray bullet pierced and killed the passenger seated beside me in front of the bus. He died before we could reach Bishop Shanahan Hospital, Nsukka where his corpse was deposited,” he recounted.

Investigations revealed that armed robbers carry out incessant raids on the expressway. It was gathered that during such raids, they rape, maim and harass passengers and inhabitants of the area without checks by either the local vigilante or Adani Police Division that normally claim they were on top of the situation each time there was a robbery incident along the road.

The development has raised tension in the area. Just a week before the killing of the young man, a commuter bus conveying passengers from Adani to Nsukka was attacked and one of the passengers on board was shot dead while the driver sustained gunshot injuries on the left hand.

24 year old Belgian footballer Gregory Mertens died today April 30th in the hospital, three days after he collapsed during a match. Doctors said he died of heart failure.

The former Belgium Under-21 international fell during the first half of a match on Monday April 27th. He was first treated on the pitch but when they realized it was serious, he was rushed to the hospital where he was placed on life support. His condition didn't improve and today his family agreed his life support should be switched off. He passed away around 4pm today.

"Gregory was only one-and-a-half years at the club, but in that short time his quiet modesty made him an indispensable person. Now we will have to learn to live with the loss." his club said in a statement.

May his soul rest in peace, amen.

They will pick up the pieces of their lives and make a beautiful picture out of it, while you're busy licking your wounds and playing the victim. .. ..here's what you dunno, we all have a past. You are stupid, petty and damn immature to be constantly using someone's past/the fact that they cheated on you, against him/her. You can't stand the heat, leave the kitchen. You can't live with the fact that they once/a couple of times cheated on you, just get them out of your life. Apparently, you've got a standard, anything below that standard which you've set, is not welcome....so kick them out of your life and start afresh...no time for national nonsense.....Its really that simple!. .. ..whats the sense in being in a relationship/marriage where fear/bitterness is the order of the day? You're scared of being cheated on again, hence the rationale behind your becoming a monsterous mad cow, while he/she is afraid of being reminded of his/her past.. .. .. ..Thats just dumb!!!

Don't remain in a relationship/marriage just because you want to tame him/her. You will never know peace, as you'll always be edgy over their where about. You deserve your inner peace.. .. .. ..should you decide to forgive being cheated on, then do it and maturedly let it go. Never ever use it as a yard stick to judge their future actions. Stalking them will never make any difference. They might keep mute and tolerate being stalked, bullied, insulted, blackmailed and intimidated for a certain period of time, but trust me, one day when they get choked up by your immaturity and pettiness, they will walk out of your life and go start afresh with someone who will never stalk them and in most cases, they might never ever cheat again, because they do not want to be bullied, stalked or emotionally/psychologically blackmailed ever again.

Andrew Chan is one of the 8 people executed in Indonesia two days ago. He was known as the Bali 9 ringleader. Before he was executed by a firing squad, Andrew wrote haunting letter to school children around the world where he revealed how he became addicted to drugs at age 15 and warns teens not to follow his footsteps. The letter was read out by Chan himself, from inside his Indonesian prison cell,as part of a documentary made available to schools. After introducing himself, the Australian said;


'Now the reason why I'm writing you this letter is to address you guys about the dangers of drugs and the effects it can have on you and also others. To tell you a little bit about my life story, I was once 15, 16 and it wasn't too long ago I was sitting in a class just like you guys.

I was an average kid and let me tell you that my teachers didn't like me one bit andI was no teacher's pet. But to cut a long story short, I got mixed up with drugs at a pretty young age and by the time I was 15 Iwas merged into the scene.

Ive done things which I am not proud of in my life and I've made some pretty stupid decisions. My life is a perfect example of an absolute waste.

Now to elaborate the effects of where I am, I've missed weddings, I've missed funerals and the simple presence of my own family.

The hurt and pain - I don't just put it onto myself, but the pain I put on my family is agonising. A simple touch such as a hug is not possible for a condemned man like me. I have nothing but an iron bar to hug rather than to be embraced by those I loveand who I miss.

What you choose today will make what you become tomorrow. If you want to be athug and a big bad wolf, I'll see you soon inside. But for those that want to do something in life I'd like you guys to see how important it is to put your head down and study hard.

I hope these words will penetrate in your minds and in your hearts and I hope that most of you, if not all of you, will achieve more than I ever did.'

Indonesia’s attorney general HM Prasetyo says the withdrawal of the Australian ambassador from the country is only “momentary”.

"I would like to say that an execution is not a pleasant thing. It is not a fun job. But we must do it in order to save the nation from the dangersof drugs. We are not making enemies of the country from which the executed last night came from. What we are fighting against are drug related crimes.Therefore, I would like to offer my condolences, on the execution of those who were on the death row, to their families, to their home countries. Once again, we are not against the countries, but we are fighting a war against the horrible drug crimes that threaten our nation’s survival."

Ouch! That did hurt! So Hilarious!

Gets up 7 a.m in the morning, sleepwalks into the kitchen, grabs something to bite on... His phone's battery is down; picks up his charger and leaves home in search of power to charge his phone. He visits all the salons, even while charging, he's on the phone, Chatting! Chatting! Chatting!!

The phone eventually power up to 30% after 2hrs of ineffective charge due to usage, he hangs the charger around his neck and with great joy, heads back home.

Without removing his shoes or sandals he cruises into the
living room, doing what? Chatting... Before long, the battery gets drained, he leaves home yet again to another barbing salon...

Nightfall; not really satisfied, he returns home say... around 9 p.m, and by 2 am, the charged battery is completely depleted...

*this circle continues daily and meanwhile this dude/sis is supposed to be a potential doctor....... Indeed many youths are captives of technology, all they do is charge -- discharge, Charge -- discharge, charge --discharge, moving about with charger! (Thank God for PowerBanks)

Nigeria's dream of having the first elected female governor has been dashed after the APC Guber candidate in Taraba state, Aisha Alhassan, lost the governorship rerun election to the PDP governorship candidate, Darius Ishaku.

INEC this afternoon declared Mr Ishaku winner of the rerun election held yesterday April 25th. Mr Ishaku pulled a total of 369, 318 votes while Aisha Alhassan pulled a total of 275, 984.

Trying to get this whole thing together but it's not working. Decided to repost it with my response

Two days ago, a staff of V.I.O (vehicle inspection office) in an attempt to stop a moving car, jumped into the car and began dragging the steering with the driver, who then lost control of the car.

The car veered off the road crashed down a vale there. The car summersaulted severally before landing opposite the Fed ministry of works in Abuja.

Luckily the driver and the VIO staff were rescued alive and were rushed to the hospital because of the serious injuries they sustained. Is this how they train these V.I.O staff to stop cars?

The truth is at this point in time, you feel dejected and used. You even feel like commiting suicide. But see, anybody begging you not to commit suicide is wasting his time. Life is too short. Stop crying over that man. A man that is not even worth your tears. If you die today, do you think he will die with you? Or do you think he will wail forever?

Babe, this is no time to cry and wail over any guy. This is the time you should sit up, learn and pick up the pieces of your life. Owkieyy, you mighy have given him your V but he now he turns around to tell yhu thrash. It's now left for you to believe it or not. Are you trashy because he said you are trashy and so you feel so or because boldly written on your birth certificate reads "Trash"?

For now, don't hate him. That is a big step to ensuring your heart is secure. You have to convince yourself that everything you once felt for him was true. Whether or not he apologizes. Love is a gift and appreciate the fact you were given that priviledge. Life will give you whatever experience is most helpful for the evolution of your consciousness. Don't bother your head with whatever he says. See whatever you have given him as a gift. Don't hate. Wipe your tears off. Never think of revenge or suicide. Being resentful is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die.

A lot of us have been there and if we had heard things like this, it would have been of great benefit to us. Let him go. Catch fun with your friends. Talk to someone, pour out all your emotions and if you wish to cry at that moment, do cry. But have a limit. Believe in yourself that you can love again but firstlove yourself. This is a phase that will surely pass away. See this as a burden which has been let off and focus on bringing out the best in you. There is life after this dear! Be good!

The Senator representing Abia North Senatorial District, Uche Chukwumerije,is dead. He was 75.

According to a statement by a family representative, Chidi, the Senator died on Sunday after a long but gallant battle with lung cancer.

“On the evening of Sunday, the 19th of April, 2015, surrounded by his family, Comrade Uche Chukwumerije passed into the open arms of history, and of our Lord Jesus Christ, after a long but gallant battle with lung cancer,” the statement said. “His life is many volumes, which can only be told with care and time, of dedication and focus, integrity and discipline, and an unbroken love for the highest ideals of our shared humanity.“

Details of burial arrangements will be announced in due course. We ask only for your prayers and good wishes.”

Meanwhile, a statement by Senate Spokesman, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe described the lawmaker who until his death was the Chairman, Senate Committee on Education as political giant and one of the nation's finest legislator.

Abaribe said the lawmaker who represented Abia North Senatorial District of Abia state in the current senate easily passes as a repository of legislative tradition and practice.

“The Senate will surely miss his erudite contributions on the floor of the chamber and his painstaking approach to committee work. Chukwumerije was indeed an embodiment of legislative tradition and consummate activists democrat who loved his people passionately”,he said.
