Nope.
Drives perfect except for the occasional rough idle...especially when u attempt a power takeoff. Spanner guys say it's mass air flow sensor.

Otherwise, it drives like a dream.

OK. That's cool.

I have a whining issue with my w123 differential. Tried about four different replacements with no luck. The one I settled for doesn't whine but has a slight grinding noise.

Guess I'll just turn the tape up. Thanks.

Your other issue really sounds like MAF issue. You can attempt cleaning the sensor.

You were given excellent recommendations by nurey which you failed to acknowledge and you are expecting more?

Anyway, run a scan on the vehicle. This should always be done on 1999 and above cars before any engine / transmission repairs.

Quick question: Is that a Jacuzzi or a hot tub? I know this might seem a little bit confusing, but I'm here to help. Now, a Jaccuzi is a commercial brand, while a hot tub is a generic term. That is, not all Jacuzzis are hot tubs, and not all hot tubs are Jacuzzis. Meaning that that piece of art right there is a hot tub and not a Jacuzzi. I'm glad we've learnt something from this post.

Aside that poorly maintained one you saw, very neat 504s are still seen driven with well deserved pride on the road.

I still saw one on Lagos-Ibadan express last month. Very neat.

Your car is not overheating. The burnt coils seems to be a known issue with your brand of vehicle.

You still need to replace the coils. I advise you to learn how to do the replacement and have some spare coils in your car at all times. Or if you are DIY-savvy, open one of the burnt coils, take some readings, then we can see if playing around with some resistors on the line going to the coils will solve the problem.

I also have a sentimental attachment to my w123. Those cars are great especially when well maintained.

I don't know any good upholstery/ body work guys in / around Lagos but I'm sure there are a few on nairaland that I've come across in the past.
