What you tweeted was clearly expressed. QED. |
Obyangel:I'm not an auto technician... but a hobbyist with a lot of experience with cars. |
BoboKush:You may attempt to fix that & something else gets damaged in the process since the engine will have to be opened. I would recommend you ignore the issue. |
clems88:Left to me, I would have asked you to check and observe several things first, but since you are not so familiar with cars, I will advise you let a mechanic check the car for you. |
BoboKush:Most likely age is telling on your valve seals. It is nothing to worry about if everything is as you described. |
clems88:Ok. You are welcome. I await your feedback. Sorry...I can literarily feel the stress of my hectic day in my previous post. ![]() |
clems88:Do you know how to check water level in radiator? Do you know how to describe when the smoke is most noticeable? Do you know how to check temperature guage or at least upload a picture? Do you know how to acknowledge replies on your thread or state the things you don't understand? Sometimes, one makes out time to give reply on threads but this kind of poor feedback makes one wonder if it is worth it. |
Don't give yourself headache based on random talk. What you should have asked is what makes your engine bring white smoke, stating your coolant levels after using the car. You can also state when the smoke is mostly noticeable, your temperature level after driving and probably attaching a picture of the smoke. At worst... you might have a bad head gasket. |
Good observation. kingreign: |
Well done! |
BoboKush:I can't remember. I did some other work alongside on the car. |
Fake brake pads are too common nowadays. Some weeks back my brake friction material removed from the iron in motion after brake pad replacement. I don't know the brand the former mechanic used but I later replaced all with original Asimco product. No issues since then. |
almsofgold:ok |
Hope your overdrive is not off? |
RS-485 Split: To identify this kind of meter, the cable connecting the meter to the UIU/CIU will usually have four wires inside it. Two of these wires power the UIU while the other two carry the communication signals between the meter and the UIU/CIU. The cable from the meter is terminated by a plug with four points, usually designed to be pluggable in one direction only so that the installer can not make the mistake of inserting it wrongly. Despite this, it is noticed that some people still forcefully insert this plug wrongly, thereby damaging the meter and/or UIU. Take care to insert the plug in the right orientation if you must unplug your RS-485 UIU/CIU for any reason. Samples of this plug and the RS-485 set-up are attached below:

Standard household meters come in one of the following packages: 1. Compact: This type of meter comes as a single unit. To recharge or check your balance or usage parameters with this type of meter, you will need to press the keypad attached to the casing of the meter itself. The picture above is an example of a compact meter. 2. Split: This type of meter comes as a dual unit. The meter itself has a smaller unit called the Customer Interface Unit (CIU) or User Interface Unit (UIU) attached to it. To recharge or check your balance or usage parameters with this type of meter, you will need to press the keypad attached to the CIU/UIU. For the CIU/UIU to communicate with the meter, a wired or wireless link needs to be established between them. The commonly used links are (a) RS-485 (Wired) (b) M-Bus (Wired) (c) PLC (Wired) (d) Wi-Fi (Wireless) (e) GPRS (Wireless) More information to come on each type in my next post. 3. Hybrid: This type of meter comes with a CIU/UIU and also has a keypad on the meter. It can work both as a Compact and Split meter simultaneously. An example is shown below:

In this thread I will explain the basics of electrical energy meters. In my professional experience, I have observed that many people do not have a basic understanding of how their meters work, thereby giving rise to many unnecessary complaints and general dissatisfaction. The points I make in this thread may be a little biased towards a particular brand of meters that I currently have more knowledge of, though the same principles apply to almost every product in the market. If you have any problem with the operation/use of your energy (prepaid) meter, you can state it at any point in the thread and I will try my best to guide you on what to do. Note that tampering with your meter is against the law and I will not advise you in that line.

Those running transmissions with bypassed ATF cooling hoses better fix it ASAP. I suspect that your gearboxes are still working fine because you don't do spirited driving. If it was my car I'm sure the gear will be gone. ![]() |
kingvicking:Exactly. ![]() |
Unnecessary risk. |
I have driven both. The Benz will outrun the 504 both in terms of handling and top speed. But in terms of ruggedness, power and ground-clearance, the 504 wins. |
Seems like a shaft issue. Have shaft cups inspected. |
mayemaye:Okay. Thanks sir. |
Good afternoon. I appreciate the responses to questions and inquiries by the senior engineers here. Please, I have a question regarding the registration process on COREN website. Is NSE membership required? I saw an asterisked field requesting for "Prof. Body Membership No." |
Jestin:Just ask a vulcaniser to air-blow the engine. Take a damp cloth and thereafter clean all surfaces you can reach. |

Top it. But you should use the same brand and type currently in it. |
Guard bars behind trucks are enforced in sane countries for this reason. Smaller cars can easily run under large trucks/trailers when accidents occur, resulting in unnecessary deaths. FRSC should wake up to their duty. |
