The National Assembly is about to pass a Bill that is set to
kill whatever is left of our so-called over-centralised federal
system. The Bill if passed will be the greatest rape on our
democracy and the biggest insult on our collective
sensitivity as a people and as a country. “The Fulani National
Grazing Reserve,” is currently before the National Assembly.
The bill has successfully scaled through second reading in
both the Senate and the House of Representatives. For it to
become law, it is to pass through the third reading.
“The bill seeks to provide for the establishment of national
grazing reserves and stock routes. It is sponsored by
Senator Zainab Kure. “The Bill proposes to establish a
National Grazing Reserve Commission (NGRC) for the
country. The NGRC will be charged with the responsibility of
using funds received from the Federal Government to
forcefully acquire farmlands from Nigerians in all the 36
states of the country, develop same at government expense
through the provision of bore holes, water reservoirs, etc;
for the exclusive use of nomadic cattle rearers.”
The issue here is very clear. Fulani herdsmen are cattle
farmers. They could as well keep their cattle in ranches.
They could devise whatever means like their counterparts in
Argentina, Australia and the rest of the civilised world to do
their animal husbandry. The men and boys roaming the
streets, roads and bushes driving cattle are not the owners
of these animals. They are just employees, labourers,
attendants or whatever name they are called.
The owners of these cows like Generals Obasanjo, Nyako,
Abdulsalami Abubakar and our President Buhari are big
time farmers. They are businessmen. It is immoral to ask
taxpayers to finance the operations of these businesses.
Cattle owners must provide capital through bank loans or
whatever means to create their grazing lands in their
localities. The cows are not owned by the Federal
Government.
Just as the Federal Government is not creating farm lands
for cocoa and kolanut farmers in Sokoto or Katsina, or
creating farm lands for Agatu yam farmers in Enugu or
Maiduguri, or creating special areas for fish farming in
Zungeru, it cannot for any reason ever consider creating
special lands for herdsmen for grazing. Let the herdsmen
run their business without encroaching on the lands of
other people. Let the cattle owners buy into the Fodder
technology and other modern methods of providing feeds
for their animals without roaming the streets and
plundering other people’s farms.
To ever dream of this perverted Bill is to step on the toes of
other Nigerians and step on sore foot, and by so doing
create a dangerous precedent. Nobody should play ethnic
game here. This is not an issue directed against any ethnic
nationality in Nigeria. The simple matter is to let those who
trade in cattle fund their business like all other businesses,
including farming, in Nigeria. The Bill must not see the light
of the day. The sponsors want to create serious problem in
the polity and their design must be nipped in the bud.
The Nigerian Bar Association, the Coalition of Civil Societies,
and all those who care about the continued existence of
this troubled country must rise up to strongly oppose and
kill this obnoxious and self serving Bill. It beats my
imagination that members of the National Assembly did not
see the serious danger posed by this corrosive Bill.
In a reaction to the threats posed by this obnoxious Bill, the
National Co-ordinator of the Oodua Peoples Congress,
Otunba Gani Adams says: “Without any doubt, this is a very
dangerous proposal for Nigeria. We all have seen how the
Fulani herdsmen kill and maim members of the community
where they graze their cattle without the backing of any
law. I am sure that we can only imagine what their attitudes
would be if the supposed grazing reserves are forcefully
taken over by government and handed over to the
herdsmen.
Nigeria has enough problems on her hand right now; we
should not provoke new and potentially more dangerous
ones.”

Is It Because It Is Buhari? I marvel at the way and manner
we think in this country, worst of it the way they think in the
north. It is just a few months ago that we all continually
lambasted president Jonathan's cluelessness, people
referred to him as the "drunken master of Otuoke", and
nobody harassed me, and now because they fear the power
of the media that brought them to power they want to
castrate the social media, with Buhari firing the first shot in
an interview with Sahara reporters' Adeola in New York,
why, Is it because it is Buhari? We demonstrated against
pump price increment for petrol, government of president
Buhari wants us to swallow the same pill we rejected a few

nothing wrong with that, Is it because it is Buhari? When
three sons of Sheik Zakzaky were murdered during the
Jonathan administration, El-Rufa'i called it genocide by the
jonathanian army, now under Buhari more than 200 are
killed, their mosque and houses destroyed under Elrufai's
nose as Governor of the same state, he has not called it
genocide by the Buharian army, Is it because it is Buhari?
Under the Jonathan administration subsidy payments were
termed as fraud, and there were hues and cries to crucify
oil marketers, Buhari even called it a fraud himself, we also
thought so, six months later the same Buhari is paying for
subsidy yet nobody is calling it a fraud, why, Is it because it
is Buhari? We criticized Jonathan for keeping a large fleet in
the presidential fleet and wasting monies on maintenance,
only recently President Buhari's spokesman admitted 2
billion Naira was spent on their maintenance, when other
Presidents are even doing away with their jets, yet we sit
down and watch helplessly, Is it because it Buhari? Fuel
scarcity is biting harder, value of the Naira is going rock
bottom, inflation is now on auto pilot, while profits are
dropping, purchasing powers are becoming weaker, yet we
are asked not to query them, Is it because it is Buhari? If we
criticized Jonathan for cluelessness, we will also criticize
Buhari for helplessness. While tribal and regional jingoists
see nothing because it is Buhari, what I see first is Nigeria
and not whether Jonathan is a southerner or Buhari is a
Northerner. We Cannot continue to be trapped in the closet
of tribalism, regionalism and religious bigotry yet expect
our country to remain one and grow. Yes! we might be of
different orientation and background but what is good is
good anywhere any time and what is bad is bad. I cannot be
suffering and keep smiling because "my brother" is the
President. |

Angelberry:Forming some kind of old folks here. Whereas u are an indomie generation |
Listen, a government is either capable or not; there is no
middle ground. Nigeria is not going through anything it
hasn't gone through before. The only difference is that
when we went through this before, we had capable
hands.
.
In 1998 when General Abacha died and General
Abdulsalam took over. Abacha had stolen so much from
national coffers that till date, we still don't know how
much. But we know nobody has successfully broken his
record. Still, when General Abdulsalam took over, he was
able to increase the salary of the public service by as
much as 300%, form INEC and fund them, keep the price
of things from skyrocketting and reduce inflation rate
from 29% to 9.5%.
.
In that same 1998, oil price had dropped from $17 to $13
in the international market. Still, it didn't stop the
government from performing and from fulfilling its
promises to its people. General Abdulsalam was in
power from June 1998 to May 1999, but he was able to
fulfil his promises and set the stage for a new and
economically-stable democratic society.
.
Fastforward to 2015, there has been cases of massive
looting under the Jonathan administration. Just like
1998, there has been a drop in oil prices. Instead of the
government sitting up and solving the problems, it goes
on a blaming mission and spends a whole year blaming
the last administration. Oil price dropped from $148 to
$38 per barrel under Yaradua. We never suffered like this
then.
.
The fact that some graduates of Economics continue to
defend the failure of this government by blaming the
past administration, massive theft and drop in oil prices
is an indictment of the Nigerian educational system. The
fact that some 'public intellectuals' continue to use big
grammar to justify the failure of this administration to
live up to its hype is proof that having a mastery of the
Queen's language is no guarantee that you will make
sense with it. That some 'public commentators' continue
to preach the gospel of 'we must endure before we
enjoy' and 'I didn't vote a magician' only shows that
having a browsing device, internet connection and
knowing how to attract Facebook 'likes' and Twitter
'retweets' are not the same things as having common
sense.
.
No nation is met perfect. No leader is without
challenges. No leader agrees with all the policies of his
predecessor. How the leader acts is what stands him
out. You cannot turn a nation upside down and expect
praises. Praise and respect are not given; they are
earned. Those who continue to dole out cheap praises
and 'stand with' an unperforming government only tell
us how cheap they are and how low their expectations
are.
.
The Buhari administration is an incompetent one. Until it
proves otherwise, we continue to see it as that. And you
suffering mortal that joins them to chant 'Sai Buhari'
amidst economic hardship and national confusion, may
you not die foolish. |

COMING GENERATION SCARES ME...REAL HARD!
While we have been busy talking about Nigeria of today, I
wonder if we have spared a thought about how this country
will be in the next TWENTY-FIVE years. On October 1, 1979,
when Alhaji Shehu Usman Aliyu Shagari was sworn-in as
president, Goodluck Jonathan was just a 22 year-old
undergrad of University of Port-Harcourt. Shagari was 54
years old. Ayo Fayose was 19 years old. Bukola Saraki was
17. Yemi Osinbajo was 22. The generation of the likes of
Shagari, Richard Akinjide, Adisa Akinloye, Sabo Barkin Zuwo,
Ifeanyi Nwobodo, Ume Ezeoke, Akin Omoboriowo, Olusola
Saraki, Sunday Awoniyi, Garba Nadama, Awal Ibrahim and
so on has gone for good! Some of us in our 40s and 50s,
when in school, either in the university or secondary school,
had lofty dreams, both personal and societal. We were
always motivated by nationalists and inventors who had
impacted positively on the cause of humanity. We were
voracious readers of novels and other books. Nelkon for
our Ordinary Level Physics, Lambert for Chemistry, B.O
ADELEKE and Goh Cheng Leong for our Geography,
Phebean Ogundipe for Practical English, Achebe and
Soyinka for Literature and others like that. We were always
flaunting our knowledge of current affairs. Inter-school
quiz, Literary and Debating competition were the in-thing.
Nowadays, students can hardly string a sentence together
in English without errors.
Fast forward 35 years on and you are shocked and
disturbed. Have you ever spoken to or engaged a 20 year-
old boy? Ask him what motivates him and he is likely to
mention music, hip hop to be precise. He has hundreds of
downloaded songs on his phone. He can sing all of them off
hand. He knows all the singles of Nice, Neato C, Timaya,
Davido, Whiz Kid off had. The babes among them take pride
in enticing men old enough to be their father on social
media with buxomly physique. But s/he does not know
anything about history of nationalism in the country. Ideas
about good society, responsible family and good conduct
do not motivate him. He just wants to make money because
his friend who does yahoo is rich and rides a good car, her
friend who has numerous ‘aristos’ drives a SUV! The things
that interest him/her are things that do not add value. S/he
has google but never uses it for advancement of knowledge
but to download porn and other inanities. Yet, in TWENTY
years time, they are the ones that will be contesting to
become governors, senators, Reps members and even
president. They belong to a generation that does not care
about morality. They belong to a generation that is
motivated only by money and its acquisition. By 2035 to
2040, they will be our senators, Reps, governors and so on. I
wonder if we have ever spared a thought for how this
country will look like under them. I told a man recently and
these are my words: IF A GUY WHO IS IN LAGOS COULD
USE FALSE PRETENCE TO
OBTAIN $20,000 FROM SOMEONE IN UNITED STATES, WHAT
DO YOU THINK WILL HAPPEN IF SUCH A GUY BECOMES A
STATE GOVERNOR AND IS IN CHARGE OF AN ALLOCATION
HE DOES NOT EVEN HAVE TO OBTAIN UNDER FALSE
PRETENCE? WHICH HIS STATE IS STATUTORILY ENTITLED
TO. How did we get into this mess? How can we get out of
this predicament? I am worried, deeply worried. Are you? |
Samtoby:Hey bro , where in ilorin do u reside ? |
Can we make a Sovereign state ?
CONTEST THE BELOW POSITIONS IF IT IS NOT TRUE:
Today I was elated to know that God Eledumare of my
people is on my side. That being truthful to the service of
our dear Yoruba Nation is not a course that will end in vain.
I Thank God for making me to study History and
International studies and to have read some revolutionary
Historical Literatures that embolden the scope of my deep
understanding of the true Nature of the world around me.
It gladden my hearts to know that the quest for the re-
establishment of African originality of pre- Berlin nonsense
of 1884/1885.is gradually be dismantled by the
consciousness of indigenous Ethnic African Nations trapped
within fake post-colonial boundaries by the criminal
departing white colonial masters, who ganged up with their
successors, the educated black elites to continue with the
wanton destruction of the lives and humanity of indigenous
African people under fake sovereign banners. One should
not be too surprise to assert that, many so called Pan-
African scholars of various schools of taught and
ideologues has continue to lampooned the calls for the
breakup of some unstable and incompatible African States
into negotiated compatibles forms, probably the ways there
where before the unexpected invasion of their lands by
conquistadors and inglorious imperialists. Who hid behind
Religion, trade and modernization of savages to inflicts
surrogates institutional framework of forever master-
servant relationship upon African Indigenous Nations
under fake super-structures of non-existing Nation-building
on the African Continent. It is brazenly erroneous for any
pan-African scholars to define the concept of African unity
on the premise of African people’s colors and same shared
continental space. African is a continent of heterogeneous
and multi-cultural indigenous Nations who had over
thousands of years had emerged and evolved their own
brand of unique civilization and natural cum National
identity even before the white supremacists adopted similar
pattern of state building mechanism from the westhpilian
model. One is well read and soundly educated to know this
and it is the rationale behind our rejection of the pan-one
Nigeria concept in place of a sovereign indigenous Yoruba
landscape.
Many Nations that of most veritable significance than
Nigeria had broken up and the heaven did not fall and many
more will still go including Nigeria whether our ill-informed
antagonists likes this or not. This is inevitable and there is
nothing of Pan-Nigeria Nationalism can do about this. It is
only a matter of time. Whether you continue to insults and
pour negative invectives on us about our positions on the
future of Nigeria or not, what is going to happened will take
everyone by huge surprises. Let the North continue to
threatening those who want their separate countries out of
Nigeria with open declaration of war, as if the others will
fold their hands and look on as wars are to be declared on
them. The north and their southern blindfolded supporters
lack the knowledge of past and contemporary global history
and the ever changing political reality of the current global
order. These Northern elites felt that the current Nigeria
will survive the current invoked rights of self-determination,
when what is taking the current global attention in relating
this to the various theaters of crises within the international
system is attached strongly to issues of (IDENTITY
POLITICS), which the current Regime in Abuja and the
country he is presiding over, is a major culprit. Nigeria is not
bigger than the natural Nations trapped within her
borrowed Sovereignty. Nigeria creation as a Sovereign State
violated all conventions and treaties of International Law by
his British creator, so therefore, the successor to the British
to what is known called Nigeria is questionable and
challengeable under international law and relations. As an
emerging scholar, I am challenging any pan-Nigeria fronts
to a debate on the above issues via electronic media
Television platforms in Nigeria and abroad. The Nigerian
people has over the years been feed with naked satanic
propaganda via doctored Nigerian History to believed
Nigeria as an amalgamated entity, is a real State created by
the British for the common Good of all, but this fallacies
and fictitious statements and wrong indoctrinations is
being demystified by the current well-educated and vibrant
Southern Nigerian activists who now have access to de-
classified documents on British purpose of creating Nigeria
and why certain people must be3 slaves for oil-&gas and
market for consumption of foreign goods and services
must continue to thrive. It is for this reason, I had vowed to
fight any Yoruba physically who without elementary
understanding of the Yoruba question under Nigeria,
questioning the rationale behind our demand and struggle
for a Yoruba Nation! We are not robots to be manipulated
by Pan-Nigerian negative forces for selfish elite purposes;
we were engineered by Historical inevitability for the
restoration of Yoruba Humanity! Stop us if you can?

FACT #1 Even if we wanted to, we couldn’t count the blessings of Allah. An obvious blessing is the day of Jumu’ah (congregational prayer for Muslims). Friday is called Jummah. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “The best day the sun rises over is Friday. On it Allah created Adam. On it he was made to enter paradise, on it he was expelled from it, and the Last Hour will take place on no other day than Friday.” [Ahmad and At-Tirmidhi]. FACT #2 “It was named Jumu’ah because it is derived from the word Al-Jam’ in Arabic which means to gather, as Muslims gather on this day every week, and Allah has commanded the believers to gather for His worship, as He says that which means: “Oh you who believe! When the call is proclaimed for Jumu`ah (Friday prayer), come fast to the remembrance of Allah.” (meaning be keen to go and attend it) [Quran 62: 9] FACT #3 The congregational prayer (Jumu’ah prayer) is one of the obligatory acts in Islam and one of the great gatherings of Muslims. The angels sit in wait for the arrival of people. Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “On the day of Jummah, the angels stand at the entrance of that masjid in which Jumuah salat is to be offered. They write down the name of the person who enters the masjid first, and thereafter the name of the person who follows, and they continue doing this. The person who entered first will receive the reward of sacrificing a camel in the path of Allah; the one who followed him will get the reward of sacrificing a cow, thereafter a chicken, thereafter the reward of giving an egg as charity in the path of Allah.Once the khutbah commences, the angels close the register and begin listening to the khutbah.” [Bukhari and Muslim] FACT #4 The day of Jumu’ah includes an hour during which all supplications are accepted. Abu Hurayrah, narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), said: “On (the day of) Jumu’ah is an hour during which Allah gives to a Muslim servant standing in prayer whatever he asks for.” [Bukhari and Muslim] FACT #5 Giving your charity on Jummah carries more virtue than other days. Ka’b, narrated that Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Charity given during the day of Jumu’ah is greater (in reward) than any other day.” FACT #6 Believers in Allah will see Allah on Jummah. FACT #7 It is an Eid for muslims. This holiday happens regularly and frequently. Ibn Abbas, narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Jumu’ah is a day of celebration, so whoever attends it should perform ghusl beforehand.” [Ibn Majah] FACT #8 It is a day on which sins are forgiven. Salman narrated Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Any man who performs ghusl on Friday, perfumes himself if he has perfume, wears the best of his clothes, then goes to the mosque and offers as many prayers as he wishes while not harming anybody, then listens quietly while the Imam speaks until he offers the prayer, will have all his sins between that Friday and the next forgiven.” [Al Bukhari] FACT #9 When walking to attend the Friday sermon, a Muslim gets the reward of both praying qiyam (the night prayer) and fasting a full year. Aws ibn Aws narrated Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Whoever performs ghusl on Friday after having sexual intercourse with his wife, then goes early to the mosque and attends from the beginning of the khutbah and draws near to the Imam and listens to him attentively, Allah will give him the full reward of fasting all the days of a year and observing night-vigil on each of its nights for every step that he took towards the mosque.” [Ahmad] FACT #10 Dying on Friday, during the day or night, is a sign of a good end. Allah The Almighty will enable the person to be steadfast during it. Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Any Muslim who dies during the day or night of Friday will be protected by Allah from the trial of the grave.” [At Tirmidhi and Ahmad] SUBHANALLAH!!! Please Share ……Spread the knowledge so it will be Sadqa-e- Jaaria (everlasting charity) for you and for us… In’Shaa’Allah. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “Whoever directs someone to a good, then he will have the reward equal to the doer of the action.” [Muslim 1893] |

The broken home of the northern family.
In effortless ceremony, a man got hitched to his wife and
swiftly a family setting begun. In no time, Allah bless them
with a boy and joy raided the air.
Just as the boy clocks three years, he is escorted by the
father into the city to learn the Quran. Yes, a three year old
is forcefully pulled away from his mother to God knows
where! The father returns home to the embrace of his wife
in kulle. Putus -another baby is on the way as the first one is
left forgotten.
The mallam in his wisdom has been blessed by Allah and
using his economic dexterity, he sends the poor child into
the street to ask for arms. In the harshest of the street, the
3 years old boy learns survival instincts. He battles ruggedly
against unexpected elements. In no time, he becomes a
champion of the street.
Unfortunately, he is cut off from the affinity of family
bonds, he has no relations to share feelings with as this lad
is left for the street to mould him into her dictates. He
becomes vicious, angry and paranoid. To subdue his anger
against his mallam, he is told never to question his
conditions as it is Allah's will for him. He is told to hate
those who don't belong to his religion and with unmitigated
fury, he brews in anger against the people in the society.
With age catching up with him, the street becomes
uninhabitable for him. He can't longer beg because no one
give alms to an able bodied man. He resorts to crime-from
picking pockets to petty stealing and eventually to violent
crimes. He is completely a nuisance to the society. The lucky
ones amongst his peers are recruited into political thuggery
and others brainwashed into religious fundamentalism.
As the circle of the almajiri life continues, he is arrested for
any of the crimes above and made to serve jail terms. After
years in confinement, he comes out more bitter, frustrated
and hopeless. With no task to do, he takes to selling water
and ridding okada. Again, he continues his romance with
the streets.
Like a walking corpse, he moves around with fist of furry
and stained mind of hate. He is quick to start a fight
because he has nothing to lose. Because you are too
sophisticated to him, you treat him with disdain and quick
to pour verbal venom on him. In the blink of an eye, he
draws out his pocket knife and press it to your fine body.
While you writhe in pains, he flee into the streets because
that is where he belongs. You learn a lesson never to
engage the almajiri in a fight.
Suppressed eventually by age, he become weak in the
hustles of the streets and resort finally to begging as
curtain of life draws on him. As he battles to bid farewell to
his unfair life, he look back at the offspring of his groin -the
next almajiris of his legacy.

is forcefully pulled away from his mother to God knows

The broken home of the northern family.
In effortless ceremony, a man got hitched to his wife and
swiftly a family setting begun. In no time, Allah bless them
with a boy and joy raided the air.
