The shorter the domain name, the better. End-users more than 20 seen on Google map for a name is a good start.

We are learning every day from this biz.
What I have learnt from the bosses here are:

1. While searching for names on ED, make sure you have many end-users on Google map (use map. Google. Com). The shorter the better.

2. During outbound, doing it manually is the best. ( I have tested manual and mail merge). Search your endusers on Google map, go to their sites one after the other to get leads, send your letter immediately one after the other. Get leads from Bing, LinkedIn etc if possible. But Google map is very very important.

3. Follow up periodically. Don't relent on follow up. Do even up to 5 times for each name. Arrange your names in a file (excel etc) so as to track your outbound well.

4. Get lots of sales letter and follow up letters. Ask for help if you feel your grammars are not many sense. This can turn a prospect off automatically.

5. Ask for help in closing deals if you feel you can't handle a particular prospect.

6. For newbies and others, don't forget to reinvest when you make sales. Grow your portfolio wisely. Learn from your mistakes. Try not to repeat them.

I stopped buying names last year December and focused on selling my portfolio out a little. And also to learn new things from my bosses here. I will resume buying this month.

I sold 11 names this month (portfolio size: less than 260 GEOs), all because I incorporated the above strategies. Try it lets see how it goes with you.

Congrats, man. This is huge. Like how many domains do you have in your portfolio? How many is healthy?

I have a total of 385 names. ~8% brandables, the rest are GEOs.

Every month I buy 15 - 35 names. I do renew some, while I let some drop.
I only start buying for the month when I have made atleast 2 sales.

I consider all my names to be healthy if not I wouldn't have bought them. When some don't sale after 1 year, I do reevaluate them to see if they are still healthy.

Few Lessons for me last month:

1. I change the time I do my outbound from 2-4 pm to 8-10pm and I saw a little result. Though the formal is still my best period but I will be interchanging from time to time.

2. Follow ups and negotiation skills are very important. I keep learning it from people here each time I visit.

3. Source for leads from all angles.

4. Believe in your domains. I have strong feelings for some domains that they will certainly sale. I only renew domains that had received offer(s) in the past.

5. Don't use one sales letter. Have as many as possible and use the ones that are pulling sales often.

6. Continue to trust in God and work hard. No dulling.

Note: Please nobody should feel like l'm trying to show off. I strongly believe I am contributing my quota by dropping this sales report to guide others in knowing what can sell.

1. You wrote that you followed up for some expiring domains up to two times. Did you reduce the price each time you followed up? If not, what was the message of each follow-up email?

2. Like how many days apart did you send the two follow-up emails?

3. Did you send all those emails manually?

4. I got the impression that you include your phone number in emails. Is that correct?

1. I didn't reduce price each time I do that. But I plan on doing that. Maybe start with, $205 then second follow up could be $165. I do this for my domains expiring in a month time.

I don't really like writing much words. Last month has taught me a lot.

I had some names expiring this month (about 14 GEOs), so I decided to reduce price and follow up again. Sold 2 during first follow up. Sold another 2 during second follow up still with reduced price. So 4 sales out of the 14 GEOs. I can use one sale to renew them all.

Also I bought a name last month, (highest sale in the list), did outbound the following day. Got 5 interested buyers. One went to buy the singular version probably because of my price. Another person called me and asked if it a scam. I cleared his doubt by pushing the domain to his dynadot account before he paid me. He was very happy.

The lessons;

1. Always follow up till the die minute.

2. For a quick flip especially those with large portfolio, put a reasonable price.

3. Check if the singular or plural version of your name is available. Act professionally if interest are flowing for the domain.

4. Call a buyer if he/she request for it ( I can help with that for a fee).

5. Dan doesn't have problems. I totally love them now.

Please someone here should enlighten us on how to receive payment from buyers for private transactions.

I have been trying this private transactions stuff because most times you have to assure them that the domain purchase is not a scam. You may want to push the domain to them first before they pay.

I have receive payment from a buyer through btc.
What other options are there for us to receive payment from buyers that wish to pay with their credit card or wire transfer.

I think we need to iron this out so as to get the most out of our hustle. Though it's seems this have been discussed before.
