Hello d2ddayo,

We hope that you adjusted your status from a tourist to student through USCIS during your stay. If not, that means that you were attending school as a tourist, which is an inappropriate use of your visa. If you have any questions about student visas, please brows through our FAQs on the embassy website: http://nigeria.usembassy.gov/student_visa_faq.html

Regarts,

Hi VO, please i will just like to ask this question, I have a valid 2years B1/B2 visa in which my first trip i spent only a month in the US and my second visit i was permitted to stay for only 6months. I ve used 4 months of it, which the 6month lapses by August. i applied to a school during this stay which i am presently admitted for the program which ends by november. but i will like to extend my stay for few months so to finish this vocational program. can i extend my stay is the question and where would that be done? thank you.

the same thing happened to me last week on my way back to nigeria, it wasnt stamped back leaving but it was stamped at the point of entry. it was stamped here in nigeria though. i was permitted to stay in us till nov which is a 6months period but i only used a month. it shouldnt ve any effect i guess.

hi forum, please i will just like to know or be advised regards my intention. i ve an american visit visa, 2years. i intend to go on vacation this april while on leave from work. i told my boss about this visa and she suggested why not take a study visa in the US which the company its self will be sponsoring later this year for one year till i return back to the company. they do sponsor employees every year for either a 6months or 1 year program in any school of their own budget range. i intend to use the opportunity of my visit in april to scout for a school there and come back to apply there. my question now is, what will be your advice, hope trying this wont affect my valid visa? i ve no intention of over staying my time since i do have a strong family tie here, my wife, 2 kids, job and my own personal business. hope to read from you soonest. thank you.

VO: can see u travel a lot ?
ME: Yes
VO: Where?
ME: italy, ireland, Dubai, france, london and Germany
VO: Pick up your visa on friday
ME: Thank you.

Now i want people to understand this, when GOD says its ur time, it def is your time. i write this bcus i ve been denied twice within 3years. the first one was a silly mistake by my uncle inviting me. he left nigeria with a visit visa in 2002 and didnt return. he told his wife to invite me and on the invitation letter,it was stated "letter to invite my brother in-law" it was her name on it as the invitee. the vo then asked me why is she the one inviting and he asked of my uncle's name which i gave him and he typed in his name. to my surprise, every information about him was there. i was denied then 2012 even as my uncle status too had changed to green card holder. in 2014 again i went back the first day of resumption after the xmas holiday in 2014. and i got denied again. despite the change in my status and that of the person inviting me. i used my best friend who left naija in 2012 and joined the US army there. within a year he got his citizenship. this same friend invited again this time and i was given despite the fact that i wasnt so prepared that morning bcus it was december i really wanted the appointment as i was told they do give people then, but cudnt get a date thanks to the appointment pipu. i was so scared n all. this is a testimony bcus i left that office that morning after the appointment as the happiest man on earth not minding my yeye boss who am so sure wud ve dialled my no like 100 times that morning over peanut she dey give (saw 17missed calls when i got to d car) that day the jinx got broken. readers, i implore u to pray, fast, prepare, avoid telling a lot of people of your intentions but rather tell GOD. after i got it, i called my family in ireland to tell them and they all felt happy. this 2015, our granted visas will be the least of our testimonies. i ve a 2years US visa now.

hi, please i intend to apply for a NIV again this December to visit my best friend and his family for the Xmas holiday. to last for a week with them before i return back work. now this is my predicament, i ve applied in 2010 but was denied based on the fact that my uncle inviting me left Nigeria some years back with a visit visa but getting there i think he met his present wife n didn't come back. the next time i applied was January this year to visit my best friend and his family but was also denied again. now my question is this, is could there be another reason why i would be denied at this other time, because on the letter given, wasn't stated while i was denied. if its based on tie to return back to Nigeria, i do have all reasons, i have a very good job that pays me about 180k monthly, am married with a child which my wife also works, i have traveled to several European countries in the past 5 years on official and vacation reasons without staying an extra day in any of these countries. now i only wish to visit my best friend who is a marine for the Christmas holiday and i am a bit scared to be denied again. would have appreciated it if reasons for denial are expressed to applicants so we would know the reason and as well know if we re still eligible to apply at a particular time because i know how short interviews are and all. please i will just appreciate your kind gesture to reply this even though i know there is a little of information you can put up here. thank you once again.
