Divepen at it again with his many numerous innovations and wonderful projects on this forum. Am so following this and hopefully get to add a chapter myself. I hope there won't be a limit as to the number of letters. BTW, is L.I.T.E not organizing the workshop this year? |
I didn't learn to play drum and I can play perfectly well too. Op, I should be on that list too. Legendary? sorry, am just seeing that. |
Am not surprised. Saraki is APC. |
--continuation-- Adeola angrily stormed out of her Godson's group of companies into the parking lot when her phone rang. It was her father. "Hello dad." She greeted. "I can't believe you came into the company and you couldn't come in to say hi to me. And to say your husband's office is opposite my office." Chief Olukolade, her father attacked. "Dad! Its not like that, it was an emergency visit." She replied. "Is it something serious?" Her father asked. "No, its not." "But, you could have at least checked on me or better still leave a message with my secretary." "I don't like your secretary." Adeola replied. "Don't say that. She is your cousin." Her father corrected. "She behaves like a witch." "So, where are you now?" Chief Olukolade asked. "Am in the parking lot, just driving out." "Is Daniel in? That boy is acting strange lately. I told him during the weekend that he should take the week off to enable him rest and get himself together, but he insisted on coming to work today." "Hope he didn't do anything?" Adeola cuts in. "He misled the valuation team and a federal government project was overpriced. So, we lost it." "Daddy! We are very sorry. He is just going through a lot at present. Hope the contract loss won't affect the company's balance at the end of the year?" "No. We are financially buoyant enough not to experience a drop." Her father replied. "Just try and call his line. I have called his office lines, but he isn't picking up, his secretary is representing him at a meeting with the factory workers. He might pick his wife's call." "Okay dad. I'll do that." Adeola said before jumping into her yellow coloured Honda Element, and slowly, she eased out of the parking lot, then out of the gate and unto the main road. As she drove on, she decided to take a peep into her favourite celebrity blog which has been keeping her company since the doctor told her she can't bear a child of her own. And suprisingly, the blog has done a lot in keeping her away from depression. The picture she saw on the homepage almost made her loose control, but she managed to pull out of the main road. "Daniel!" She cried as she beheld Daniel on the first news on the gossip blog. "Why?" ----------- Magaret walked into her boss(Jimmy) office with a sullen look. "Hey babe." Jimmy greeted rising up to his feet. "Leave me jor." "What's wrong with my girl?" He asked leading her to a seat. "I feel like killing." Magaret muttered through gritted teeth. Jimmy took two steps backward. "so, who do you want to kill?" He asked. "Adeola Olukolade." Magaret replied. "You need to see the way she disgraced me out of her husband's office few minutes ago. And she even asked me not to resume here on monday. Like I have been sacked." "Is that why you want to kill her?" Jimmy asked. "Yeah." Jimmy smiled. "Why not let us steal a billion naira off the company and flee?" Magaret raised her face to meet his. "You rejected it the first time, am sure you are not doing the same now." Magaret moved an inch closer to cover the distance between them and in a twinkle an eye, she locked lips with him. Breaking apart moments later. "Am game." She said. ------ Adeola, still in anger dialled a number on her phone and waited for it to connect. "Daniel kneeling before a lady." She thought angrily. "Tina, your end is near." at once, the user at the other end picked the call. "Hello Dragon." She said impatiently. "This is not Draggy. Dragon is dead." A deep voice replied. "Oh my God! Accept my condolence please." She said. "You are Mrs Adeola Olukolade-Martins. You requested that a certain Christopher James be kidnapped and totured to death. He is thirteen years old. Am I right?" The voice at the other end read out her application. "Yes, and its up to two weeks since I paid for the job and am yet to see results." Adeola said. "We are striking this weekend." The voice replied. "Good! Thank you very much. Your name please?" "Its not important." With a click, the line went dead. END OF CHAPTER 14 |
--continuation-- "Tina, am sorry for how I treated you back then, I know I failed in my responsibilities as a...." Daniel was saying. "No. There was never a responsibility. You did whatt was right. You destroyed my life and stabbed yours. You had the opportunity to redeem yours and mine, but you choosed to treat your bleeding life. See yourself today, the managing Director of a leading company in Africa. And me a security agent at your service. But one thing you failed to realise is that, I did you more good than harm. Did you know how much I wanted to become a nurse? Did you know how much my parents spent to ensure that I lacked nothing? Did you know I was a role model to the younger kids back then?" Tina poured out. "Am sorry." "Stop telling me you are sorry. Did you know I lost my father the moment he knew I was pregnant? The last time he showed fatherly love towards me was when I went into a thirty six hours labour when I had my son. The only concern he showed was to invite pastors to pray for me. Daniel, let us face the truth, the pregnancy then was a mistake from both of us, but regardless, you should be a man. I never asked you to marry me. If you had stayed as the guy responsible for the bump, I wouldn't have felt so humiliated then. Did you realise I dropped out of school then? Did you realise that as I am speaking to you, I can't boast of a first degree? I don't have it. I was out of the system four months before I had my son, I returned to my education five years later after everyone pleaded with my father to allow me. Returning to write Jamb at twenty five was like a sixteen year old boy feeding on breastmilk. I shook off every shame, but I failed Jamb on two occassions. Daniel, at twenty seven, my youthful life is officially over. I enrolled into a defence school just to forget my past and live a new life. See me today. As a nurse, I might not have achieved what I have today, even though if I had graduated as a nurse at twenty four then, I would have been happily married, but all the same, I am a happy mother." By now, tears had welled up her eyes. "Am sorry Christina. I never meant to treat you that way. You and I knew it has always been my dream to complete my education abroad and make something out of life, so when the opportunity came, Adeola gave me the option that I either remain in Nigeria to claim responsibilty for the baby or I travel abroad. I thought it was for the best, afterall, I will return in few years and I'll work something out for you and the baby. On my retun, a quick wedding was arranged and I tied the knot with Adeola, she told me to forget about you and the baby else she will report to her father and I will be sacked from work and our marriage dissolved. My greatest mistake was choosing my job and marriage. Chris is my future, Tina please." "What exactly do you want me to do Daniel?" Tina asked. "Can I stand up?" "I never asked you to kneel down, why should I ask you to stand. It's your decision." Tina replied coldly. Daniel dragged himself up in embarrassment. "You know, I have met Chris on a couple of times and I know you haven't told him who his father is." Daniel said. "You should have told him when you saw him." Tina replied. "How could I?" "You are Daniel Martin. You have money and you have power, just call a press conference and tell the world you have a son. I wonder what you want from my son. The ones Adeola had for are not enough abi? You keep your kids in London and here you are running after one boy." Tina replied. "If only you know I have no child from Adeola." Daniel thought but his thought was interrupted by Tina's high pitched voice. "Chris....! Christopher..." She screamed. "Yes mum." Chris voice sounded from inside the house. Moments later, footsteps could be heard as Chris approached the gate. "Yes mum! You called me." He said once he came before his mother. Chris gave Daniel a you-are-still-here look. "Hello Chris." He greeted. "You greeted me ten minutes ago." Chris thought as he bowed his head in response. "So, mummy.." "Yeah.... Daniel Martins here has something to tell you." Tina replied. "Daniel, he is here now, talk to him." Tina said as with this, she eased past Daniel, Chris and Daniel's car. "Chris, lock the gate when you are coming in." Tina added. "Chris, you see when I was in the university, I was dating a girl, Adeola, my wife. Her bestfriend was Christina James, your mum. One thing led to another and I slept with your mum. It resulted in pregnancy and she had you. Chris, I am your father. The one you have always wanted to meet and know." "You are my father?" Chris asked. "Yes son." "Okay. Any other thing?" Chris asked. "Nothing." Daniel replied. "Good!" With this, Chris walked back into the compound and immediately locked the gate as his mother instructed. Daniel was brought out of his reverie by a waving hand before his face. -Afterall, it was all in his head. He had allowed his thought overcome his present state. "Sorry." Daniel said. "So, you want to talk to me. Am here." Chris said. His mind wandered back to one of the conversations he had had with his friend, Jimmy. "There is no point telling the boy you are his father." Jimmy had said. "Why?" Daniel asked. "Cos, he won't believe you." "How?" Daniel asked. "This is it. The boy has lived all his life with his mother. No father figure has been in his life. You coming out to say you are his father, he will find it difficult to adjust to the situation or adapting. He will find it difficult to trust you." Jimmy had explained. "You do have a point. So, are you suggesting that.... I let Tina do the talking?" "Who else if not Tina? Even with a DNA test result, the boy still won't believe you." Jimmy replied. "So, in your best interest, forget any decision that you'll take your child by force, you just can't. The boy is over seven years old and he would be asked by the court to pick whoever he wants to live with, you don't stand a chance here. Just find Tina's forgiveness, you sure need it. Become friends with her, check up on her regularly, do not discuss the issue of the child she had for you, just register your presence in her life and that of the boy. Once she realises that you have good intentions, she will personally sit the boy and tell him the whole story, which makes you the winner." Jimmy had concluded. "How?" Daniel asked. "Just do as I say and let the boy get used to seeing you around. By the time you want to take full custody of the boy, he won't say no, cos he would have been so connected with you." Jimmy explained. "Yeah. I only wanted to say hi." Daniel replied. "Oh! Good. So, you know my mum." Chris said. "Yeah.... We used to live in the same neighbourhood back when we were young. So, I saw her car today and decided to tail her." Daniel replied. "I see." Chris said. "I'll like to return back to the house now." "Okay... See you later." Chris walked back into the compound and fastened the lock. It was then it dawned on Daniel that Tina called Chris out to foil his plans, even though he had none. Tina had called Chris out to distract him. Knowing that once Chris shows up, Daniel will have a lot on his mind thinking of how grown his son had become and during that period, Tina went in. He hopped into his car disappointedly and eased out of the entrance, narrowly missing Tina's car in the process. "I should have asked for her number." He thought. "I am such a fool." He angrily blared his horns such that, house owners on both sides of the estate road had to peep through their window in order to know the person behind the disturbance. --to be continued-- |
handie:Sometimes even the craziest man alive has a perfect solution to the problem at hand. I couldn't find any quote so I just picked up his quote plus I bumped into his website yesterday and I must confess he has a couple of good stuffs running |
tecno4life:Sometimes your comment here makes me think you are not human(your perspective to issues). What encouragement do you need when I told you about me loosing files from my device. In case you don't know let me tell you the things I lost. My contacts which is very important if you asked me and for the records, I lost three stories I have written to completion on my device stories I have been typing since April. Do you know the plans I have for those lost stories? You don't know. It wasn't like I went off for days without any form of explanation. I took my time to explain to you guys you dey pay me in? If I didn't explain is a different ball game. In case there is a next time, don't let your desire to read be cloud whatever compassion or pity you have for the writer. I am no robot. |
handie:I leave you with this quote: 'women are guided by emotions and feelings like. If we are to go to war, they will never end.' Chief Femi Fani Kayode. As much as I wanted to agree with you, I will disagree with you. My job is a thousand miles apart my personal life. When at work I can be fearless, courageous, crazy, adventurous and even heartless. But see me on the street outside work, I can be very timid. I write using myself as a case study. If I were to be in the force, with my fearless nature I probably would have killed Abubakar Shecow by now, but outside the force, I might not be able to handle a armless pickpocket. And judging from the role played by Tina. Do you know how it feels to be intimidated? I mean, Tina lost it after the pregnancy saga, had to drop out of school, lost the trust of her parents, lost her beastie(Adeola) Now you want her to move on? She really want to. But no matter how unemotional you are, when you see someone who was responsible for you not achieving your set goal and him/her is living his dream, you'll be happy? Don't forget the woman factor. Women I believe only have 50% of things that men have, except brain that was given equally. Former President Goodluck Jonathan flagged off his presidential campaign in Lagos state. Judging from his speech at the rally, the Vernon with which he spoke, you'll agree with me that Mr President was angry and frustrated. Anger and frustration are emotions too. Should a president be guided by emotion? Lastly, Tina is human and you don't expect consistency in everything she does. The only thing I observed in the story so far is that the Tina's character is a bit exaggerated. But in the work of fiction you need to exaggerate if you want to drive a point home at all. But criticism taken and I think I learnt things anew. Comments like yours makes me want to become better. |
Guys manage this till later in the day when I will add one or two more |
--continuation-- Tina sped on 'recklessly but carefully.' Covering the distance of 200km/hr, but at the same time paying attention to the traffic signs and lights, allowing other vehicles to overtake her, and at the same time overtaking other vehicles on the road. Even though she couldn't place why she was driving at such a high speed, because on a normal day, she shouldn't be running away from Daniel Martins or trying to escape from him, but thinking about the past and how it has contributed to shaping the present and most importantly, the future, she knew the only way she would be happy and fufilled is by keeping her distance from Daniel Martins, even if it requires her leaving her present apartment, quitting her job or leaving Lagos, in as much as it guarantees the much desired distance from the reach of Daniel. "Watch your way reckless woman." A motorist yelled at Tina who has lost concentration on the task at hand(driving off to avoid Daniel) Tina, out of fear and shock immediately swerved to avoid being hit or hitting any vehicle nearby. The car subsequently went into a deep pothole. "Oh my God!" She screamed as the car frame hit the groud so hard. Chris woke with a start. "Mum, what's going on?" "Nothing dear." Tina replied as she got herself together amd pulled unto the road conneting her house. Even though she knew driving home was a bad idea, she as well knew that giving Martin a run is sucidal. His presence alone is causing her a lot of distractions. And distraction while driving is what every legal car user tries to avoid. She honked the car twice once she was a few houses away from her apartment and immediately, Daniel overtook her for the first time and parked just in front of her gate. Being his first time in the estate, Daniel had no idea of which of the houses was hers or the particular flat where she lived. But he assumed a four flat storey building to be her house since after she honked, a young man opened the gate, hence, his reason for going up to park at the entrance. "Excuse me Mister. Are you driving in or what?" The man who opened the gate asked, but Daniel ignored him. "Am not here for you." Daniel thought. Immediately Daniel moved to block the entrance with his super expensive car, Tina considered swinging her car sideways and driving out of estate or swinging to reverse, but a quick thought of what may happen made her match on the break, and switching of the ignition. Knowing the type of person Daniel was, she knew him as someone who would never cave-in except when his conviction told him to do so. She knew it would be difficult to get the better of him this time around. Slowly, she alighted the car and moved towards the gate. "Mummy Chris, Welcome." The young man who opened the gate said. "Thank you Mr Obi. You closed early from work today or you didn't go at all?" Tina asked. "Am actually on leave." The man replied. "Its your time, enjoy." Tina laughed. "So, this man here, should I get the copper occupying the top floor and his friends to come throw him out with his car or I should get the copper and his friends to throw him out?" "Don't worry, I can handle him." "Don't hesitate to call on us. Hello Chris." The man replied before waving at Chris who responded lazily. Daniel opened his car door for the first time and alighted. "What do you want?" Tina attacked. "I came to talk." "And what makes you think I'll be interested in your talks?" She asked. "Chris! Go inside." Tina said to his son who grudginly dragged his feet out of the car and towards the gate. "Hello Chris." Daniel said. "Hello Mr Martins." Chris replied giving his mother a knowing look. Sure that Chris was out of earshot, she attacked Daniel once again "What exactly is your problem? What do you want with me?" Its a different thing to be tutored by an expert and a whole different thing to be tutored by an expert in the way 'experts' do things. After a couple of heavy classes behind close doors, Daniel can boast of having learnt from his 'buddy' Jimmy. Slowly, he went down on his knees, an act he learnt from Jimmy 'the don' himself. According to Jimmy, no sane lady enjoys seeing her man on his knees pleading for a favour or begging for forgiveness. According to him, as a man, it is important to watch her(the lady) first time reaction to you going on your knees, but in the case of Nigerian girls who enjoys nothing but seeing their man suffer, instead of kneeling down, the man should probably prostrate and roll on the ground. "Am sorry Tina." Public display of attention, romantic gestures in public and other attention vices was one thing Tina was weak at. And she doubted her strong-will to reject Daniel no matter what. --to be continued-- |

tecno4life:Its a pity the internet is all about the whites. I don't mean to be racist here, but in every ten searches you make, 9/10 will be about the whites and the other 1 will be 50% of the whites and 50% of the blacks. Its a different thing to get a perfect picture to represent a story, it is a different thing to make that same picture represent the setting of the story- Africa. Can you please explain what you meant concerning AIAC? |
Slimzjoe:You have a point. I actually did one with a gun on the cover, but, you know, I thought the gun might put people off and also because I am someone who loves representation. From reading the story you can connect the content with the cover picture. Its just like you putting an apple on the cover, but after reading the story, there was no apple in the story except oranges. Shey you get? I still appreciate your input. |
tizblink:Thanks for your input. Actually, there is an edited version for Blood bond, but in a hurry to put them here, I picked the first one I made while I was trying to get familiar with how the application I used works. |
adeh39:Thank you very much |
omotalkie:Thank you very much ma'am for all those accolades. You need to see how my head is swelling. You will buy them, won't you? I don't remember you reading Shadows from the past when I was posting it. Or did you read it after I finished it? Thanks all the same. |

--continuation-- The remains of the bomb blast victims were being transferred to waiting ambulances amidst tears from on lookers. Tina stood quite a distance watching as people burn beyond recognition are being moved, tears rolled down her cheeks. "Hey!" Mark said standing beside her. Her face lit up instantly. "Hi." She replied, but her face fell immediately she saw the sullen look on his face. "Any problem?" She asked. "No... Nothing. I just felt I failed." He replied. Tina was shocked to the marrow. If it wasn't for the mood in the air, she would have jumped up twice in happiness. For the first time in months, Mark was looking sober. And not only that, he admitted that he failed. Afterall, the Mark Ashimolowo of this world don't fail. Neither do they make mistakes. "How do you mean?" Tina replied. "I felt I was responsible for the deaths of these people." He replied pointing to the victims. "No, you are not. You should be commended. I think I am the one who failed, because it is my duty to be there beside you and assist you. But where was I when N.A.T.U was under attack? Lagos traffic." Tina replied. "The ones I felt for most are the two patients in the ICU." Mark said. "The ICU?" Tina asked to be sure. "Yeah... The intensive care. An elderly man and a young lady." He replied. "Oh my God!" Tina gasped as tears rolled down her cheeks. Mark looked at her in suprise, why the tears? He asked himself. "Hey guys." Collin's greeted from behind. Mark turned to face his boss who obviously was in tears too, but the hankie in his hand was doing justice to the freely flowing tears. "What's wrong with her?" Collins asked with a shaky voice, much to the chagrin of Mark who couldn't place why the Director of the now-reduced-to-ruins terror agency headquarters would be in tears, when he was expected to console his crying subjects. "Tina, is anything the matter?" Collins asked, but was even more shocked when Tina hugged him like her life depended on it. "Nigerians have problems." Mark concluded. "I just heard about Vannesa. Am very sorry." Tina cried. "Its nothing. Am just glad she lived a worthy life." Collins replied, this time his tears flowing freely. "May her soul rest in perfect peace." Tina prayed. "Amen." The three of them chorused, even though Mark didn't know whose soul they are praying for, but he in his short stay in Nigeria had learnt to say amen to every prayers and rebuke every curse, because in 'Naija' they tend to manifest. And the last thing Nigerians want is a curse preventing a prayer from manifesting. "The president sent his words." Collins said as he cleaned his eyes and immediately walked away. "What's wrong with him?" Mark asked. "He lost his sister." Tina replied. "His sister, Vannesa?" Mark asked. "Yeah." Tina replied. "She is a patient in the medical wing. Wasn't she the one that tipped us about Clara killing this computer girl last month?" "She is, but her health situation worsened last week and had since been moved to Intensive care." Tina replied. "Oh my God! I had the chance to save her." Mark said regretably. "But guess who asked me to leave her, Collins did." His mind flashed back to the short encounter he had with Collins inside the ICU. He remembered the strange act of Collins where he threw a small sized book at the lady just before they fled the building. "I'll be back in a jiffy." Mark said as he walked up to Collins. "Hey man!" He extended his hand for a handshake which Collins took. "Am sorry about your sister. Vannessa." "Thanks man. She likely won't make it out of the ICU alive even with all the treatment. The doctors said they were buying time for her, but she'll still die. Its just painful to see her die this way. I mean, she has been on sick bed for months, enduring the pain, and instead of dying peacefully, she had to go through another round of agony. Its a pity." Collins tried to fight back tears. "Shake it off and be a man. At a point in our lives, we will definitely loose someone close to us. A friend, a close relative, parent or even a colleague at work. All we have to do is put it behind us, no matter how difficult it may seem and forge ahead." Mark preached. "Thanks man, I appreciate." Collins said. "Anytime." Mark replied before walking away. He returned to where he left Tina to find her talking to a light complexioned man in suit. "Hey Mark! Meet Tony, I bet you have met before." Tina said. "Yeah. The FBI guy." Mark said before walking away leaving Tony's hand hanging. "Crazy being." Tony muttered. Tina laughed. "That's his own way. He gave me the same attitude the first time we met." "Tell him this is Nigeria." Tony hissed. "So tell me. How did it happen?" Tony asked. "I can't explain it. You know. Cos, I wasn't around when the whole thing happened." Tina replied. "That's serious. And there are no witnesses whatsoever?" Tony asked. "None at all." Tina replied. "What of your boy? I heard it in the news." "He already did his bit. He's said all he saw and we are working on his lead for now." Tina replied. "Tina!" Collins called from afar. Tina hurriedly walked towards her boss. "Mobilise everybody. The ministry is sending vehicles, we are moving into the FBI headquarters for now." He instructed. "FBI? Why?" Tina asked. "Tina, no question. Just do as I say. Those with their personal cars can go in their car." Collins instructed. "Right away." Tina said as she scurried away. "And instruct all level four and above agents to wait behind." Collins shouted. By now, the blast scene was becoming almost empty as every ambulance had left with two or more victims while onlookers have been driven far away from the scene by the stern looking men of the Nigerian Army. "Tony, I have an assignment right now. Maybe we'll talk later if you are still around." "Okay, but can I speak to your son, for a minute or two." He requested. "No, you can't." A deep masculine voice replied. A strong hand grabbed Tina's left arm and dragged her towards her car, walking past Tony in in the process. "Mark, what's the matter?" Tina asked. "You should leave." Mark replied. "What? Why?" Mark opened the door of the driver side. "You have been through a lot today alone. You should go home and rest. Moreso, Christopher is not safe. He is everywhere in the news, everyone would want to ask him question, and the terrorists are watching him right now." Mark explained. And without struggle, Tina hopped into the car, switched on the ignition. "I'll talk to you later." With this, she backed out of the parking lot, made a U-turn and drove out of the gate. "Bye Madam." A soldier manning the gate said. Tina stretched her hand to the back seat where she picked her suit and covered a sleeping Christopher with it. Then she saw him standing beside a black Range rover sport, 2013 model. Her greatest nightmare. Daniel Martin. Immediately, she stepped on the gas and sped off, but much to her chagrin, he ran into his car and followed. --to be continued-- |

--continuation-- "We shouldn't be doing this." Daniel groaned. "Yeah. I know, but we couldn't help it." Magaret moaned as she lifted her hands up to enable Daniel remove her shirt. "Even in the office. You are just irresistible." Daniel said as he squeezed his former secretary's breasts. "Quit the talking honey." Magaret scolded as she reached for his belt, unzipping his trouser in the process. "I can't wait." Daniel lifted her up and placed her on the table where he brought into open, his rock hard member. "Oh my God!" Adeola screamed as she saw her husband in such erotic scene with his former secretary. In one quick movement, Daniel zipped up his fly in embarrassment, even though he shouldn't be embarrassed, because it was his wife who caught them, but Adeola was not alone. Standing at the door behind his wife was his bursty secretary, Halima. "Am sorry sir, I tried to stop her, but she insisted." Halima pleaded. "Get back to work." He ordered, unable to look at her in the eyes. Immediately Halima stepped out of the office, Magaret, already dressed made to walk out of the office, but Adeola drew her back. "Where do you think you are going?" She asked. "You have no right to assault my workers." Daniel warned. "Your sexmates. And in the real sense, they are my workers, cos sooner or later, am gonna inherit this company, and they all are going to work on my orders." Adeola replied. Daniel weighed his chances. The best thing he could do now is talk senses into his wife so as to prevent her from causing any scene whatsoever. For certain reasons, he was afraid of what Adeola might do to get at him. In previous occassions when she had heard of him cheating, he had always been subjected to series of begging, from his own parents to his in-laws, after which Adeola would be persuaded to return to the house, but now that she had caught him red handed, he doubted if he had any real chance. "Adelove.... Let her go. She has a lot to do in the office." Daniel pleaded. Adeola was quiet for a while with head bent, and by the time she raised her head to look at her sober husband, her eyes were welled up. "Daniel I loved you. In fact, I still do. But what did you pay me back with?" She began with a shaky voice. "You cheated on me with this sl*t. I heard about it, but still forgave you. You took her home, had sex with her on our matrimonial bed, but I still forgave you Daniel. Now, you have taken it five steps further, by cheating on me with her inside your office. Where is your dignity?" She cried further. "What if at my dad just walked in? Okay, he doesn't come to your office, but what if he decides to show up today, do you know you are fired? Daniel, why?" Adeola slumped on a nearest couch and wept even more. Magaret gave facial signs to Daniel and immediately hurried out of the room. "Wait!" Adeola said. More of a request than a command. Magaret stopped in her tracks, even though she didn't bother looking back at her boss' wife. "Go in there into your office and pack your personal belongings. You are done working here." Adeola said calmly. Without another word, Magaret walked out of the office, leaving the couples behind. "Seriously..... I." Daniel stammered. "So, what now?"" Adeola asked. "Are you going to remain here as the managing director or walk out of that door to continue your illicit affair with her?" The power that money wields. It was once said that, a man with a humble or a not so rich backgroung should strive and do all he could to ensure that he didn't have to live a life of servitude like his parents did. Daniel obviously failed to understand this, because it is obvious that he wasn't only serving his father-in-law, he at the same time was serving his wife. But the saying that; the earlier one is able to identify his problem , the better it gets, because, there is every tendency that the problem would be nipped in the bud before long. Hence, the reason why Daniel was trying to take his stands and disagree with Adeola over certain issues, but one couldn't be guilty and at the same time be forming 'macho.' "Am sorry." He said going down on his knees. Adeola immediately walked towards him and tried to pull him up. "Have forgiven you sincerly. You cheating is all my fault." Adeola said. Daniel stared at his wife in shock. "If I had given birth to like two or three children, we won't be going through this. Because, I know you derive every sexual pleasure everytime we have sex, so that is out of it. But a woman blessed with children they say owns her husband." Adeola poured out sincerly, but she failed to understand that a cheat will always be a cheat, no matter the situation, environment, time or season. "I love you." "Explosion rocks the leading Anti Terrorist agency in Nigeria, N.A.T.U in Lagos. About thirty minutes ago, the headquarters of the Nigeria's leading anti terror agency was hit with a bomb. Our correspondent, Lanre Olagunju after speaking with a couple of staffs who were lucky to be out just before the bomb went off could not but conclude that the whole operation was carried out by either an insider or with the help of an insider. One of the staffs, Mr Mark Ashimolowo who spoke to newsmen said......." The mid-day news broadcast was being said on the television. "Oh my God!" Daniel exclaimed. "What?" Adeola asked. "That's Tina." He replied pointing to the screen where people were running around, trying to avoid speaking to the press while also trying to help the Emergency board with a thing or two. "Yes, Tina. What happened to her?" Adeola replied angrily. "Nothing." "Good! Cos, I don't want anything ruining this romantic moment." Adeola said. A high ranking agent at the agency, Miss Christina James who spoke on behalf of her son who likely tipped off the internal security about the presence of an intruder, the young Master Christopher whom we understandably believed is still in shock and couldn't face the press or answer traumatic questions at the moment..." The newscaster continued. Daniel broke away from his wife and grabbed his keys. "Where to?" Adeola asked. "N.A.T.U headquarters." He replied. "To do what?" "To check on my son. Our son." Before Adeola could protest, Daniel was out of the office. Maybe I shouldn't get myself worked up. Afterall, he just called Chris our son. Adeola concluded with a wicked smile. --to be continued-- |

blackmarya:Am not talking from the author's pov. Its just what happens in our immediate society. They made us understand that a man owns the child, abandoned or not, the mother is answerable to the father concerning the child. |
