Someone needs to remind the Federal Government that a nation can’t be taxed out of poverty neither can it be taxed into prosperity. Government key responsibility after the protection of lives and properties is to create an enabling environment that allows individuals and businesses to thrive. This will create opportunities for prosperity and help discover national wealth where we never thought they exist. Nigeria has never had it this bad, many things have fundamentally gone wrong in the past 7 years and it is crystal clear that the current government has neither the capacity or the political will to put the country back on the right trajectory. The government keeps taxing the poor while the rich rarely pay their taxes. South Africa IGR from Personal Income Tax alone is more than our entire IGR from all taxes combined - CIT, VAT, PIT, WHT, Stamp Duties, Capital Gain Tax and others. It’s really unfortunate that we are being led by the most incompetent people. Block revenue leakages, cut cost of governance by downsizing government across all tiers and levels, introduce business incentives and tax credits for small businesses, invest in education and prioritize investment in infrastructures that create enabling business environment, pass capital punishment laws to reduce corruption. Reduce the term in office to two years and allow government to be able to run for 4 terms. We shouldn’t keep an incompetent government in power for 8 years. More so, Nigeria should not have more senators than the United States of America with 50 states compared to Nigeria with 36 states. One senator per state and two House of Rep members per state is enough. How can we be the poverty capital of the world and be wasteful? Governance isn’t a rocket science, even if you aren’t competent enough to lead. Invite smart and competent people into the government and let them formulate and implement your policies. We have been stuck for so long and something needs to change in 2023 if we still want to have a country we can call our home. |

I find it so powerful when people share their past experiences and seeming failures. It uplifts and helps people in similar positions know no failure is final, if you don’t accept it as final. Felt good to read this. I got made redundant from a job I loved, absolutely broke me and my saving. I felt let down and lied to by the management, but on the positive I’m now in full time employment and starting to progress. I got let go 4 months ago as my leadership position was eliminated. First time it ever happened to me but I'm actually thankful it did. I was stuck in a super toxic culture and I was afraid to move on because of the situation the last two years. Taking the last few months to reflect has taught me that I was suffering from anxiety and depression. Who knows how long it would have gone on if I was still working there. I've learned more through this experience than any other in my life and I'm looking forward to what comes next. Thank you for posting this today. I needed it! |

My Dear Young Men, One thing that can define your career or even entire life is the woman you choose to be your girlfriend/wife. Please take this seriously because I am about to share with you my experience. At the very beginning of my career, I had very good taste for beautiful women. I ignored substance over form. I picked some ladies as girlfriends and up to today, I can't pinpoint one value those relationships added to my life. Rather, it drained my meagre savings and when all was said and done, they left. I met others that when you take sex out, there is nothing to hang on to. In the process, I gave birth with one at age 28. I call it a sweet mistake. Sweet because my boy is now a big intelligent boy who inspires me a lot. Mistake because that was not the plan. I wasn't ready for it. It really cost me emotionally, financially and physically. 6 years after, I have an adorable woman who pushes me to higher goals. I partly attribute my "success" to her. She saw a gem in me and hence ignored my flaws. Such a virtuous woman deserves to be married properly. Hence, very soon we are getting married. At the appropriate time, I will invite you all to Kumasi. Young man, you can't waste your time in useless relationships. Like you won't go anywhere with a vehicle with flat tyres, same way you can't go anywhere with a visionless woman. She will only be a source of distraction. Listen, I am not blaming any of them for my mistakes. That's why I am sharing my experiences with you to take cue and don't do same. Take your time and choose carefully. Always choose substance over form. If you're lucky to have both, congratulations. Significantly, don't feel bad to let people go. If she is not serving a useful purpose, move on before it becomes albatross on your neck. Your choice of partner can make you or unmake you. May the Lord God help us to choose well. |

Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed is the son inlaw to General Aliyu Gasau, one of the King makers in this Country. A younger brother of Dr Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, who twitted about Peter Obi on June 24 - the tweet Obi read at the Catholic Guild Meeting last month (see below)! Who is Hakeem Baba-Ahmed? He is the Spokesman of the Northern Elders Forum! Do you remember Prof. Ango Abdullahi who came out last month to say Atiku and Tinubu can't fix Nigeria? Well Prof. Ango Abduallahi is the Chairman of the Northern Elders Forum! Are you still with me? Are you connecting the dots? Just few days ago, Shehu Mahdi insinuated on ARISE TV that OBJ and Prof. Abdullahi are "promoting Peter Obi in the North". And that the duo together with IBB and General Aliyu Gasau are planning to form a 3rd Force to enthrone Peter Obi Presidency...an unprecedented tectonic shift in our politics is probably unfolding. So, pay attention. Last week Nigeria Labour Congress and Trade Unions Congress of Nigeria publicly announced the backing of Peter Obi candidate. On Saturday the Northern Youths launched the Peter Obi mobilization. If you like continue to say "Obi can't win", "Obi has no structure" "North will not vote for Obi..." West will vote for Tinubu...then, you're most definitely not paying attention! WE MOVE! |

I normally don't do this but for the sake of others and learning purpose. When you see a job like this; in addition to what you have highlighted 1. Google the mail address 2. There are some red flags already from the post e.g no job description 3. Any invite asking you to confirm availability via WhatsApp doesn't seems like a serious organisation. 4. Always look at the previous post of the poster. 5. If they have no respect for your time. For example, interview is 9:00am but you started around 11:00am, it speaks volumes about how they value your time. 6. If the job doesn't state explicitly salary, benefits etc and you go for the interview and they still cannot tell you until (probably the so-called consultant clamming to be a HR specialist or generalist which is an insult to professional in that field to say the least) you meet the owner of the company, Japaporiusly!!! Kindly take this from someone who has experienced the OP's interview style first hand. IyaTola: |

What employees go through in the hands of some employers in Nigeria is something worth writing about. So pathetic. Absolutely pathetic. I remembered when I working at Allen & living at Palmgroove àxis on 25k salary. My Boss went to his Village to lavish money in December & my school fees deadline was 26th. He paid me a sum of 20k as salary. I wept that day. He's now contesting in Akwa-Ibom. So many things I can talk about. Share your experience |
M y c r y p t o n g Community on telegram: So here's how you've been taught (and told) that Ads work: People see your ad, they immediately take action in a straight line through your funnel, just the way you expertly designed it, to the sale. That's the dream life right? But what ends up happening looks like this: they see your ad, get annoyed, pick their nose, click on it to convince themselves that you're a scam, jump over to Instagram, watch a skit from Sabinus, check Twitter, come back to Facebook (this time your ad has gone), they go out, buy suya, maybe see your ad again, give it a second thought, bookmark the page, check your Youtube, check your Instagram, ask their friends on Whatsapp about you, watch you for 3 months and then take action. This is the naked reality of how the ad buying process works. Sadly, almost everyone out there is trying to optimise only for the straight line. I'm not saying the straight line doesn't work; but picture this: a hundred rats at the bottom of a bucket trying to climb each others heads to the top, all fighting for a piece of cheese at the top. That's exactly what it looks like - when you and everyone else is going for that straight line only. Every day, novice sales people and marketers keep buying into the illusion that ads don't work because all of them have set their window of expectation for sales to 1-7 days which is far shorter than the real time which cold audiences make a buying decision. If you don't have an edge over the others, like how exactly do you plan to beat the others? How? I want you to have this edge; it's not impossible to have an edge but you have to first understand that the edge is needed. They'll rather have you believe the edge isn't needed (just run Ads with 1k a day, how's that working out for you?) People crying about not getting sales like cry babies, sorry but I can't feel sorry for you. You're like everyone else, you're not different. What makes you special? What makes you tick? ♂️ Volume and differentiation - that's what I'm offering; I'll teach you to be different, show you how to stand out, how to pull volumes. I am passionate but I'm only passionate about those who are passionate about winning. If you're interested in being like everyone else, stick to Youtube If you're ready to get sales in volume and get those leads rolling through, let's talk. Main requirements is that you've got at least 50k to blow on ads. If you don't have that, go get it. It's so easy to make your first 100 grinding with aff. marketing; almost everyone and their aunt these days has made their first 100k-200k doing that. Once you have that, it's time to pull off your training wheels and put your big boy pants on. To clarify: I'm not pushing courses. If you want to make money with that, you can sign up as an affiliate or just purchase it as half price for yourself ♂️ My thing is DFY; I'll write your ads, build your page to collect name, email and phone numbers, setup the ad so your leads start coming in, while you take care of the ad budget |
