One thing I like Yorubas for is you guys are good in propaganda news! You can cook up believable lies to deceive the gullible ones u wish to deceive.

Niger Deltans didn't fight with Igbos during Biafran war but Philip Efiong was the vice head of state (president) of Biafra then, do u ever read historyhuh

Niger Delta was created by Yoruba-Hausa/Fulani just to spite the Igbos and to divide Igbos and Southsouth people just because of Yoruba-Hausa/Fulani greed and crave for crude oil!

Anyway, according UN policy, there will be a referendum for Niger Delta people to vote whether they want to join Biafra or stay back in Nigeria or form their own country.

Igbos have no problem with Niger Delta forming their own country or remaining in Nigeria if they choose to, but there must be a referendum to enable Igbo-speaking regions of Niger Delta decide whether they want to go with Biafra or not. So long as that will be done so our Igbo brothers caved into Niger Delta by selfish Hausa/Fulani-Yoruba politicians that took over power after the civil war, are not abandoned to be further persecuted by Nigerians or other major tribes, then that's fine.

And how can a Yoruba man become the head of Nnewi market when Yorubas refuse to travel! Yorubas only travel to UK! Yorubas don't travel, so how can they become leaders in other regions or countries, huhhuh

Igbos were not invited from the southeast and appointed market leaders in Yoruba markets or made LGA chairmen or legislators in Lagos state, but they contested and won simply because Igbos were majority in those regions they contested the election and won, so it's not as if Yoruba willingly appointed them to become leaders out of love....it was out of no option just as Black American over time became majority in some American states and regions. It's beyond Yoruba people's control.
You get Cataracts for eyes?
Where did l say "Niger Deltans fought with Igbo"?

What happened was that the Biafran Army ransacked ALL minority tribes, decimated them, killed many of them and looted their property, including the Central bank in Benin (after which they burned it down!).
What happened was a Stronger "Biafran Army" FORCEFULLY CONQUERING the minority Tribes, with overwhelming military Force!

Where was the "UN Policy" or referendum, that time?

In case you forgot, read it here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Midwest_Invasion_of_1967

At 3 a.m. on August 9, 1967, a mobilized division of Biafran soldiers under General Victor Banjo crossed the River Niger Bridge at Onitsha and entered Asaba. When the Biafrans reached Agbor they split up, the Biafran 12th Battalion under Lt. Col. Festus Akagha began moving north-west to Benin City, the 18th Battalion under Major Humphrey Chukwuka made its way into the oil-rich Niger Delta, and the 13th Battalion under Col. Mike Inveso swung northwards towards Auchi. Benin City was captured with little opposition as Biafran soldiers fired their weapons into the air upon entering the city.
The 13th Battalion established control over Auchi and Agenebode while also capturing the towns of Okene, Atani, and Iloshi, indiscriminately shooting civilians in the process
. A Nigerian Army unit was pursued by Biafran soldiers to the Siluko River where the two sides exchanged fire, before the Nigerians managed to escape under the cover of darkness. Within 12 hours of the initial invasion the Biafran Army had control over the entire Mid-Western Region. Unbeknownst to General Banjo a unit of Biafran soldiers under Lt. Col. Oechi attacked the government residence of Mid-Western Region governor David Ejoor on the orders of President Odumegwu Ojukwu to capture Ejoor dead or alive, Ejoor's guards resisted the attacking Biafrans which gave Ejoor enough time to escape and flee to Lagos. The 13th Battalion was given the job of defending the Biafran north flank while also cutting off Nigerian supplies going to Nsukka.

The 12th Battalion was transformed into the 12th Brigade and given the job of capturing Ibadan and Lagos from two axes at the towns of Ore and Okitipupa but this was delayed for three days while President Ojukwu and General Banjo argued over who to appoint Governor/Administrator of the Mid-Western Region. Not wanting to appoint an Igbo over non-Igbo citizens General Banjo suggested that either David Ejoor, Sam Ogbemudia, or Col. Trimnell be made governor but Ojukwu refused and ultimately placed the Igbo medical-officer Albert Okonkwo governor. When General Banjo returned to Benin City on August 12 he ordered the 12th Brigade to make its way to the town of Ore but not to attack Ibadan or Lagos until further notice. In Warri, Major Chukwuka released Major Adewale Ademoyega from jail after getting into a fistfight with Major Emannuel Ifeajuna. Ifeajuna made his way to Benin City where he was put in command of the newly formed 19th Battalion, which consisted of 700 recently conscripted soldiers. The next day Major Ademoyega relieved Ifeajuna of his command and replaced him with Lt. Col. Henry Igboba.

On August 17 Governor Okonkwo installed a dusk to dawn curfew in which only citizens with passes would be allowed to move freely at night. Non-Igbo citizens, especially the Hausa community, were subject to harassment from Biafran soldiers while women were often molested and sometimes raped, this in retaliation for the 1966 anti-Igbo pogrom.
Resistance groups began springing up constantly consisting of mainly ethnic Urhobos and Ijaws. Because of a series of uprisings against the occupying Biafrans in Benin City, General Okonkwo began raising a force of loyal native inhabitants to combat the rebels. By August 18 Okonkwo had assembled a force of 780 reliable volunteers to keep natives from attacking or killing Biafran soldiers. Loyal inhabitants donated whatever weaponry they had to the Biafrans, which consisted mainly of single-shot rifles and double-barreled shotguns.
Cooks began poisoning Biafran soldiers whenever they had the chance to and it was because of this that Biafran soldiers began only eating food that was cooked by ethnic Igbos or self-cooked. Rebellious natives who did not wish to fight would often seduce Biafran soldiers to get information out of them and tell Nigerian authorities.

On August 20 a group of Urhobo/Ijaw rebels raided a Biafran camp and were successful in killing 50 soldiers while 16 rebels were killed in the skirmish. Due to these rebellions Biafran soldiers began raiding and pillaging villages throughout both the Mid-Western Region and Niger Delta inhabited by anyone other than Igbo civilians.
The Biafran government began broadcasting Biafran propaganda in the region while the Nigerian government broadcast anti-Biafran propaganda as well. On September 19 President Ojukwu declared Governor Okonkwo President of the Biafran puppet-state, the Republic of Benin, in an attempt to make citizens of the Mid-Western Region loyal to a government other than Nigeria.
We live in a Digital age now....nothing is forgotten.

The Biafran Army's aggression towards these innocent minorities would not be forgotten that easily because it will easily repeat itself under a Biafran state where the Igbos are still majority.

When we say the Igbos are as aggressive as the northerners, we are correct.

Just that they have not added religious fanaticism to their own, as of now, but that wont be long to come since they are claiming Jews already!

Only people befreft of common sense will associate Igbos with violence in Nigeria. People who have deep resentment and prejudice against igbos and refuse to consort history will call a coup of hot headed social reformist an 'Igbo coup'.
History has never failed to single out Northern Nigeria is the hotbed of violence and destruction of lives and properties in Nigeria.
There are numerous incidents of massacre of Eastern Nigerians perpetrated by Northern Nigerians way before Nigeria's independence and first coup. A few example is the genocide of 22 October 1945 in Jos and May 1953 in Kano where thousands of lives and properties were lost.
These violent incidents occured many years before the so called Igbo coup and this is just two out of the many waves of violent attacks on Southern Nigerians pre independence/coup.
Post independence, Northern Nigeria has strategically targeted and killed Igbos at will.

Nnamdi Kanu might have said things on air yet the non violent stance of Pro Biafran agitators don't correltate with his speeches. They have not attacked government properties, organized protest or even called for an expulsion of Northern natives in the East.
It is a pity that you are delusional and your post is entirely different from what is obtainable on ground. There is no relationship between Igbos and violence.
Yea, l feel you!

What dream did the northern youths bring close?
In all your knowledge you think secession is all about making threats on the pages of newspapers?

And if I may ask; what seed of hatred have been sowed? Is exercising one's fundamental rights to self-determination amount to sowing seeds of hatred? Why hasn't one part of Spain asked those clamouring for Catalunya to leave their places of abode?

I'm not in anyway supporting the Biafran agitation, but I am sick and tired of reading nonsensical comments here, all based on sentiments and all.

Even if Biafra secedes today, you can't force Igbos out of any part of Nigeria, as long as they have papers and visas, and you can't even take away their properties, except through violence necessitated by envy and jealousy.

Is living in another country a crime?
Why should they force Igbos out of the north when this entity is still called Nigeria? They don't have the right to! And Igbos have the right to self-determination regardless of what you or anyone thinks.
Who will give them the Papers?
You did everything under the Sun, to leave a country, you even wished death on their ailing President, now that you have your own country, you want them to give you "papers" to still continue to mess-up their own country?

Have we have gotten used to listening to ridiculous pronouncements from groups of people who constitute themselves to champion the cause of their group, while openly threatening the existence of others?
Have we sunk so deep as a people that we now allow those who threaten the very existence, lives and properties of millions of people to walk about freely, even having the brazen audacity to reissue and amend their threats to this country’s existence?
At no time in the history of Nigeria has there been more blatant disregard for the laws of the land, and the aloofness of those in authority from protection of the constitution of Nigeria.
But those in the know will understand what is happening, Arewa groups who issued these threats are untouchables, they cannot be arrested for an offence which other people have been detained for years for.
And why should they be bothered, they have precedence in their favour, a similar threat was issued to a group of Igbo visitors to the Oba of Lagos palace in 2015 by the Oba himself. In this case, the Oba issued an ultimatum that the Igbos must vote for a particular candidate in the gubernatorial polls or be drowned in the lagoon. Nothing happened to the Oba, he was spared because he is above the law. We were all witnesses of the scare tactics which ensured the current president won the elections in the north, we heard stories of how some northern youths were brandishing knifes and other dangerous weapons in the north, all to make the people vote for their preferred candidate.
Impunity is when people from openly commit crimes, knowing they will not be punished. That has been the problem of Nigeria. That is why the country will not grow, that is why those seeking to form a different country will continue to get popular, because there is no justice in this present arrangement.

This is not about claiming anybody because Biafra is only for Igbos and people who believe they are Igbos at the end of the day.
It is about Historical narratives, shared ancestry and affinities that go beyond the creation of geo-political boundaries in Nigeria.
The Hetrogenous identity crises witnessed today is a product of a dysfunctional political agenda unleashed by the federal govt to seperate Igbo of the East and their kins in the Niger delta group.
Identity was fluid before state and political creation in the East. The Egbema man in Imo state is one and the same as the Ogba-Egbema man in Rivers. The Nri man in Anambra has more in common with an Asaba man than an Mbaise man.
The man in Owerri is more related to an Ikwerre man than the man in Enugu.
The man in Bende and Arochukwu has exchanged cultural ideas with the Efik and Ibibio people for many centuries.
My response has nothing to do with claiming,it is rather aimed at debunking your hollow premise that Niger delta has nothing in common with Igbos.
Ironically, the whole of Niger Delta is filled with people who are more related to Igbos than they are to themselves.
Stop fooling yourself!
When did you hear an Ijaw man, A Calabar woman, an Itshekiri man or an Urhobo woman call themselves a JEW and claim to descend from Israel or Japan? huh shocked shocked grin grin

‎May God bless you my brother for being honest. Sometimes I wonder what Igbos did to Yorubas that Yoruba youths hate Igbos so much with venomous spirit.

History can testify that Igbo people have never for once fought with Yorubas or attacked Yorubas anywhere, but always inter-marry with Yorubas and live peacefully with Yorubas but Yorubas just hate Igbos for no reason whatsoever.

Igbos till tomorrow prefer to live with Yorubas than with violent Hausa/Fulani. The only reason Igbos accuse Yorubas or point wrong fingers at Yorubas is due to Yoruba people's frequent betrayal of Igbos and other Southern minorities to align politically with Hausa/Fulani. Aside that, Igbo love Yorubas but Yorubas just hate Igbos for no reason other than just to hate.

And what Yoruba youths here don't realize is that once Hausa/Fulani decides to go violent and kill Igbos in the north, they cannot even distinguish between Igbos and Yorubas so they will kill both Igbos, Yorubas, Niger Delta, etc because to Hausa/Fulanis, anybody from the Southern Nigeria is 'Igbo'!

I support any move that will hasten or fasten the development of Nigeria or the regions that makeup Nigeria because as it stands now, Nigeria is a mess....nothing is working....youths cannot even guarantee their future....youths will labor, graduate from higher institution and yet no job for them but some few idiots stole our national wealth, keep trilions of $$$ in foreign countries‎, dug hole in various places to hide it for their yet unborn generation and we think everything is righthuh

If re-structuring Nigeria will bring about the positive change every Niger‎Ian youth craves for, then let's all call for a total re-structuring of Nigeria into a regional force. And if peaceful division of Nigeria would bring the change, let us happily accept it.

For those who don't understand the Biafra agitation, let me give u a hint. Biafra will be a youth-driven‎ country where no-nonsense politicians will be welcomed because Igbo youths are ready to stone any idiot politician who tries to mess Biafra up to death.

Biafra will be governed by youths and corruption will never be tolerated and all those old Igbo thieves calling themselves politicians and elders know this...thats why many of them don't want Biafra. if they try to loot in Biafra, youths will mobilize and burn down their house and take over their properties because from Biafra military to Police to leadership to judiciary will be revolutionary and driven by youths hungry for fast development.

And for Niger Deltas, it is not by force to join Biafra but Niger Delta are our beloved brothers...we cannot abandon them because we fought together and died together in 1967 - 1969, so crude oil cannot divide us now.....Biafra will operate as an independent region; Southeast region and Southsouth region. each region will be solely responsible for their resources....but we will be under one national umbrella; Biafra to unite us and give us the power and force to fight enemies or foreign intruders, that's why Southsouth must align with Igbos and go together to succeed together.

Igbos are not after crude oil....crude oil will soon lose its value worldwide as more renewable and cheaper energy sources and technology springs up, so let's not allow crude oil to divide us.

Yes maybe some useless Igbos may have done Southsouth bad in the past, they don't represent Igbos....Igbos have no issue with Niger Delta...you are our beloved brothers...but if u decide to stay with Nigeria or be your own country, that's fine, but there should be a referendum to allow Igbo-speaking Southsouth minorities decide if they want to go with Biafra or stay with Niger Delta.

If Biafra comes peacefully, it's good....and we are asking for Nigeria to peacefully divide so every tribe can succeed happily at their own pace. we wish Yoruba to establish a successful Oduduwa Country; I am sure Yorubas will make a great country. We wish Northerners will form their unique Arewa country and practice their religion peacefully without intruders just as UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, etc does...and we wish you all succeed as we wish our Biafra after a peaceful division of Nigeria.

We want the division so peace can reign, so enemity can stop, so tribal wars can reduce, so ethnic sabotage in politics can reduce, so all these unwanted killings and violence can reduce.

We are too big to be a one country as black people we are....we don't accept ourselves so easily like the whites, so peaceful division will be a good idea for us all.

God bless all Nigerians of all tribes and ethnicitysmiley‎

You see, the problem with most of you Igbos, is that yo always find someone to shift your blame upon!
Each time l hear you say "Yorubas hate Igbos", l just laugh!
- How many times have Yorubas killed Igbo living in the South?
- Did Yorubas not allow Igbos to occupy legislative positions (Reps. Assembly men) in Yoruba land? (How many Yorubas are allowed to hold such office in Igbo land?)
- Do Yorubas not allow Igbos to operate and do business peacefully in their land...even to the point of being appointed market head (a position usually reserved for the indigene?
- How many Yorubas, if you can fins a single one, is market head at Nnewi, Onitsha or Ariaria markets?
Was it not a Yoruba, that gave his life, to protect an Ibo man, when he was asked to give him up at Ibadan? (When did an Igbo ever return such favor to a Yoruba person?)
- If Yorubas are not very friendly to the Igbos, do you think it is possible for Igbos to have more property in Yoruba land, than they have in their own Igbo land?
When has it become "hatred" to chose your own "Political Association or who you associate with, to further your own interest? Just because Yorubas chose to vote for Buhari, how does that translate to HATRED or BETRAYAL?
Do Yorubas have any "pact" with Igbos, to always vote for them? (How come the Yorubas did not call it Betrayal, when the Igbos refused to vote for Awolowo, as Presidential candidate of the UPN but voted for a Northerners in Shagaris' PDP?)

All this pointing of finger will not help the Igbos.
You reap what you sow. SIMPLE.
You do unto others, as you expect others to do unto you. (and others will do unto you, as yo have done unto them)

It is greedy, selfish and outright foolishness, to always blame others for your own failing.
Yorubas dont hate Igbos but Yorubas are smart enough to not only protect themselves, act in their own interest but to also "serve back", whatever Igbos serve them`, in double portion sef
.

As to the South South, you can call them "brothers now" buit during the Civil War, you not only invaded them, you destroyed them, conquered them and made them slaves.
You invaded Benin City and looted the CBN in Benin (the reason the Nigerian currency was changed, to make the loot money worthless in your hands grin ). The minorities like Akwa Ibom, Calabar, Uhrobo, Ijaws, e.t.c are even worse, you just treated those ones like Dogs.
But you need their support and Oil now, so it is allowed to call them "brothers" grin grin undecided

As to Yorubas establishing Oduduwa Country, that has nothing to do with Biafra!
That you leave Nigeria does not mean Yorubas will leave Nigeria.
Yorubas dont need Biafra, to form their own country, if they want. Yorubas are in Nigeria, because they want to be.
Yorhbas dont need to be lectured on what to do, by those who are yet to get their own bearing.

I dont know how old you are or maybe you just had access to hte internet in the last few days.

But if that is not the case, then you are as usual, living in a cocoon.

Type Nnamdi Kanu threatens Nigeria on YouTube and take your time to watch the videos of your 'spiritual leader' as he threatens war on Nigeria and Nigerians.
Remember too, that the Civil War came to an end when Ojukwu and his 'army'` will not stop bombing and killing South Westerners, to as far as Ijebu Ode (after ransacking, looting and killing the Benins, Efik, Anangs, Calabars, Deltans, Ijaws, urohobos, etc, in the South South regions).

Dont even let me mention what led to all these trouble, when the Igbo Coup of Aguiyi Ironsi killed ALL the Northern political leaders, including the Premier Tafa Balewa (prompting a retaliation from the Northerners in 1966).

Point is, the Igbos have always been associated with as much Violence as the Northerners, except that Igbo violence is not based on religion but Greed.

By now, a people preparing themselves for a referendum, will have massively divested from other regions, knowing that once the referendum grants them independence, all bets are off! (Look at the case of E.U and Brexit, with regards to the negotiation and $100Billion Bill slaped on them! grin )
But it seems that even Igbos dont believe or have fate in themselves and their ability to relocate to their country Biafra. shocked shocked undecided

Good they should come and be going. This shows the agitation for Biafra is about hate only not reality. Go and develop the east because the north are tired of you.
I still think the Igbos must show seriousness in their agitation for self rule and Biafra.

You cant be shouting and staging protests here and there, insulting other tribes, threatening war on the Nigeria in your quest for Biafra.... while you all refuse to relocate to the core Biafra-land, scatter yourself all over other people's lands!

The moment the Fed Govt sees you withdraw into the Eastern States, abandoning other Geo-political zones, that is the moment they will take you serious.
Right now, everyone, including these Northern Youths, think you are just bluffing and trying to arm-twist some undeserved benefits out of the Nigerian nation.

Professional certificate doesn't always mean anything, especially when the recipient has zero job experience in the field. I was a self-taught Oracle Cert. Assoc. DBA many years ago, but looking back now, I don't look at it as an advantage in the job market, because I had mo relevant experience.

The best attribute I look at is the strength of character of candidates in job interviews. Who better than an ex-student to be the judge of character of candidate? If that teacher was unprofessional during his TP, I'm pretty sure the OP wouldnt recomnend him for the job.
If it does not mean anything, how come the Employers call it ADDED ADVANTAGE..... or dont you know the meaning of that phrase?

Your statement makes me doubt you ever wrote and passed the Certifications you are claiming.
It is people who have failed in the "attempt" to have Certifications, that trash it.

Its obvious that life is a cycle.
There was this job vacancy in my place of work and 8 people did apply for it which they were to be interviewed yesterday.

By privilege as an Admin/Acct Officer I was authorized by my HR who was engaged in a crucial meeting to conduct the interview on his behalf so far I know what the company requires.

Lo and behold among them was my secondary school Teacher who did teaching practice (TP) when I was in SS1.

We were both shocked when we saw each other, looking at each other, I smiled and said Sir kindly have a seat.

We gist for 30mnts then I used 5mnts to ask him where he worked before now, that's all.

Meanwhile, I recommended him OK for the job and asked him to come and start work tomorrow.

It is good to live peacefully with all men as you may not know where your turning table will stop next.
The question is, was that a dishonesty for me to have picked him as there were 2 people who had professional certification ahead of him?

Nairalanders over to you!
All these cooked-Up stories we read on Nairaland today sef!
While "Fiction" is a good area of in Writing, at least try to make it reasonable and show that you have some brilliant imagination!
And to think that most people read it and swallowed it up? Shows the level of intelligence of all these kids that have taken-over NAIRALAND.

*If he was your "TP" teacher in SS1, that means he is a graduate (only BSc or HND teach Senior level Secondary Class).
* Doing TP also means he is a PROFESSIONAL TEACHER that went to a Teacher Training.

Add the above together and you will know that people like him are in high demand, especially now that Govt has insisted that only those who attend teacher Training, can teach. Your fictional teacher cannot be out of job, as you are portraying him.

* You, as an admin officer now (Entry level graduate job!) means you have spent a minimum of 9yrs since he was your Teacher (3yrs in Senior Sec, 4yrs in the University, 1 year NYSC, 1Year probation on job... but we all know that if we factor-in NECO/JAMB repeats, Higher Institution Strikes and Closures, job searches, e.t.c, the last time this fictional man taught you will be like 15years ago! )

Now, for a qualified teacher doing TP 15years ago, we are looking at a Senior teacher or even an HOD in some schools.
A Primary school teacher earns over 48K a month, a Private School, untrained, auxillarry Teacher earns about 35K-40K monthly, now imagine what this graduate with approx 15yrs experience is earning today!
So, telling us he came looking for a 48K job in your place of work, does not add up.

Moreover, what sort of job does an HR Manager, in what sort of Company, delegates interview to a rookie like you and then use your judgement ONLY, to employ the person! grin grin grin
You even said you asked him to "come and start work tomorrow"! shocked shocked shocked
Wetin, na you be the MD of the Company? shocked
You like to make yourself feel important sha! grin grin

These last parts shows that your story is not only fabricated, it is poorly done..and it also shows that you have no idea of how things work in a work-environment.
You are probably just one unemployed 'Yoot' still dreaming and fantasising about employing his Teacher in future.

Nice try, but always think it through, next time.
I give you 3 out of 10.

Obviously, this man's case though extreme, was done in self defence.
The woman assaulted him first, leading to the provocation.

According to reports, the early morning downpour in Lagos which resulted in heavy flooding in VGC caused heavy traffic from Mega Chicken to VGC leading to Ajah fly-over.

Some of them are square and do not look like what was done with grovers. Anything else they use?

Like the picture below. It has aluminium inserts. Does the aluminium serve any purpose?
Looking at the picture that Egunmogaji posted, it is obvious that it can only do TRIANGULAR GROOVES.
But it does not take much imagination, to use the same style of Tool, to make the squarish grooves we desire, by simply replacing the triangular part, with a square-shaped plate.
Just cut SQUARE-SHAPE aluminium or part of a Pipe and weld it to the flat surface.

Pronto, you are on your way!.

The landing cost of a cheap one from Harbor freight will be less than $6000 (including clearing). A lot of contractors can afford it but will never buy it. They will rather add more cars to their fleet.

Then and again, if you buy it and put a lot of workers out of work, you may wake up one day and backhoe will be up in flames. Double wahala! So let them dig. There is no rush in Nigeria. African time reigns supreme. You can hurry up the excavation, start construction and oga shows up a month later to state that he/she is out of funds. So why the rush?
