yeah ...it's a department under the Nigerian military....MP for Army , NP for navy and AP for Airforce

Not correct!

Military Police, MP, is for all the Armed forces: Army, Navy, and Airforce with bright or light beret and badge.

So, the NA has it own MP, NN has it own MP, likewise NA. Nothing like NP, AP.

He spent a whopping 20 years on O.A.U Campus or so they told us.

Meanwhile, have the likes of Goddey, Soweto, Aluta Tobi, Destiny, Mandela and co graduated?

These guys were brilliant minds who never succumbed in the face of tyranny & injustice. God bless every one of them!

Tony, a great friend of Delemycin. Who left the struggle early for them.

I thank God for the life of bro Tony as he finally graduated. I believe his daughter will be happy for him.

Actually it's not that simple. There are a lot of issues involved. You'll see some of them if you click through the links in the second post.

1) Violation of planning rules and permits:

Unfortunately a lot of people believe that they can do whatever they want because they own a piece of land or a building. Some people illegally convert residences into worship centres, businesses and so on and so forth and they launch propaganda wars against the government if government tries to demolish or seal their property. In fact, in some cases, these people don't even own the land. I'll give you one of the most infamous examples.

The MacGregor Canal

Dr William MacGregor was colonial governor of Lagos from 1899 till 1902. He was a medical doctor and so he took particular interest in the health of Lagosians. Malaria was one of the biggest problems at the time and so he dug a canal, now known as the MacGregor Canal, to drain the swamps that had become breeding grounds for mosquitoes. The MacGregor Canal separates Lagos Island from Ikoyi Island.

The size of the canal was slightly reduced when the Federal Government built Ring Road/3rd Mainland Bridge in the 1970s.

That canal serves a very important function by draining excess rain water from Ikoyi, Obalende and parts of Lagos Island. Basically, it helps to prevent flooding.

Can you imagine that someone went to build a church right across the canal?? They sandfilled the Lagoon end of the canal and built a church right across it. Obviously they did not have any permit to do that. That was one of the early problems that Governor Fashola had to deal with. He went there to tell them that they had to move their things because the government was going to demolish the place. In response the owners of the church launched a propaganda war against the government. They said that Governor Fashola was attacking Christians because he is a Muslim. I was shocked to see the then chairman of CAN in Lagos State (who is a popular pastor), support the idea that Fashola was attacking Christians, just because he ordered the demolition of the church.

I had a friend that lived on Victoria Island and I remember what she told me about a man that built a massive mall in what used to be a quiet residential area. The people, the local government and state government officials complained, but the man insisted that he owned the land and he could do whatever he wanted with it (he also had friends in the Federal Military Government at that time). Will you blame the government if they choose to demolish his mall now?

2) Lagos State rules about noise pollution:

There are rules that establishments must follow, even when they have permits. Lagos State rules say that you must not make over 55 decibels of noise during the day and over 45 decibels at night. The rules also state that bars, night clubs, churches, mosques, etc. need to soundproof their premises, so that they can have their noise, but it won't disturb their neighbours. The rules (which were agreed to by the muslim and christian associations in the state) also state that these establishments should not have external speakers, so that they do not disturb their neighbours. You might notice that one of the complaints against this establishment is that they have massive external speakers on their premises.

@naptu2, i guess you worked with LASEPA. I would like to know you in person.

Pollution unit under Mrs Shonibare has done a great job, that deserves commendation under from the GM, Dr. Fasawe.

And to all the units in Lasepa, well done for good jobs in making Lagos environment healthy to both human and aquatic biota.

This is a very good move from the Lagos State government, had it been it's here in ogun state the agency would have been bribed and the companies would just continue doing what they like, I worked in a steel company here (African foundries) sincerely I needed to leave the job due the bad management of the company, imagine them still owing me about 150,000 but I just needed to leave there. Nice one from Lagos State government.

Pls, can you feed me about this company, AF. The working condition, working hours, associated risk, management style, payment of salary history, and what is the salary of their safety officer?
Thanks

My friend did his NIN enrollment about two months ago they gave him one printout. 3 weeks ago somebody transferred a huge sum to his account money to his account, then is account was blocked because the account needed upgrade he went to d bank with is NIN printout but the bank said is NIN was not recognized for over two weeks now.
My major concern now is how do we get NIN for him cause he borrowed money from me to carry out the job the money in his account was meant for.
Should He go for another enrollment he doesn't have any other form of identification.

The point is that when you receive usual huge amounts in your account, the bank will block your account and invite you for questioning through police or EFCC.

Now, tell him to go to another bank branch. It may be that the bank branch have not yet synchronize their NIN database.

Also, tell him to go any NIN centers for his NIN verification.
Romance / Re: Please Help! My Brother Is Sleeping With His Daughter by dacillin: 4:51pm On Aug 07, 2021
This is a very serious case. In that, not all family members should hear about it and the society as well. If not he go to jail.

The wife have used wisdom in handling it by telling you only.

Relocate the girl immediately to Lagos, your base, for therapy. Do this without informing the father. Though you will inform him later.

Look for respectable elders either in your family or outside to have a meeting with girl father and mother.

For now, till you get the right wisdom to handle the matter, tell the mother to be very proactive in protecting her daughter.

I pray God will lead you through with the right wisdom and save the girl.

Everyone knows about the greed and buhaha between you guys.

Stop lying to win cheap cuts.

Both of the factions are just childish. Shame on you guys!

I won't support any of you guys. If the greed that runs in your vains wont let you guys settle the score... Then shame shame on you all

Exactly guy!
There useless gluttonous behavior, both factions, have made indigenous safety professionals useless in and out the countries.

Imagine, in South Africa, Canada, and Saudi Arabic you can't practice as a safety professional without their country's safety certification. Now, India and other Arab nations have follow suite. Infact, if you have NEBOSH IGC in Nigeria you cannot practice in UK except you have NEBOSH National.

Before, with ISPON, you can work in Shell, Agip, Chevron etc. Your ISPON certificate qualify you for CSP. Now, render useless as a result of the power tussle.

Safety professionals in and out of Nigerian have started gathering signatures to form a NEW body that will serve as a international recognize exam body, starting from West Africa. And leave ISPON as regulatory body, which is thier main purpose, that is if they come to their senses.

Presently the group is on telegram.

Hi everyone, I just want to make a enquiry or to get enlighten on how relevant can HSE 1,2 & 3 be to a graduate of sociology currently serving and how lucrative it is in terms of getting employed. We both discussed about it but seems we couldn't arrive to a conclusion. Pls experts, kindly share your thoughts on this or should professional courses below should be taken instead during his service year:
- Project Management.
- Human Resource Management.
- Environmental & Waste Management.
- Quality Assurance & Control.
- Basic Rig training for Roustabout.
- Oil & Gas operational Safety.
- Quality Management System.
- Customer Relationship Management.

I will advise you to go for HRM with CIPM, they are certified body recognize in Nigeria. HR is hot cake now ooooo.

If you go for HSE, probably with ISPON or NEBOSH, it will be very difficult to secure a job since your educational background is non-science base. Because, those with science qualifications are still struggling with those of Engineering base.

Anyone you finally decide, pls make sure is recognized certification not those NYSC own oooo.

ISPON is not just a recognized institute but a government-approved regulatory agency for Occupational Health & Safety in Nigeria.
However I'm having doubts that the email you received is from ISPON. Would you mind sharing the email address and message you received?

You are absolutely right.
Op note:
GHSE, which comparises HSE 1&2, cost about N45k
HSE 3 cost about N25k.

There are two factions of ISPON, of which https://ispon.gov.ng is the recognized one as of today. There are still in court about that.

Concerning the scholarship, ask the training agent about the authentic of the certificate; is it going to be issued by the recognize ISPON? See previous issued one by yourself.

Also, confirm from the recognize ISPON branch close to you, check their website for branch address.

If you need mentorship from a fellow medical student, who will make your life easy in medical school and succeed, then send me an email on dappyadex4sci@yahoo.com, using "paid mentorship" as the subject of the email, you get free mentorship for 3 days to test, after which you pay 10k per month for my mentorship, which would be done on WhatsApp or physically if you so wish.

Also, I'm currently a 4th year medical student at university of Ibadan studying medicine and surgery.

I would be expecting your mails.

Paid mentorship grin there is nothing we will not hear in coming of an end.

Instead of paid mentorship, why can't you make it in form of a seminar where you give strategies, methodology, scope how to read and pass medical courses with easy, etc.

The paid mentorship still got me laughing sha........ wink wink grin. When you're not consultant.
