WantsandMore: how's job opportunities? How are you getting by with bills and finally what's your long term plan? Problem with bills was only in the UK. Once you enter Europe (At least where i currently am āPolanā) Everything changes. I lived for over a year without working physically at any company and survived with my skills but as soon as things started getting hard for people āTo even do projectsā, I spammed Jobs online for a physical Job and just two days later, i found one which pays fairly okay. 2 Likes |

I saw this ājapaā thread on the frontpage and thought it would be good to say one or two things and especially give an update on my previous thread; https://www.nairaland.com/6597531/advise-me-relocation-plan-moneySo, after making researches, i opted to go through the study route to Europe - applied and got admitted into a school and did the necessary to get an appointment to submit for my visa. It was hard to get an appointment to submit for my visa application to Poland and with the frustration, i opted to go through the United Kingdom which i got my visa and resident permit. where i then applied for the visa and got it. Now hereās my experience thus far; nothing has made me happier than settling here. And even though the journey was tough, i scaled through and live an even more affordable and peaceful life here than in the United Kingdom. Talk less of Nigeria.. Accommodation is affordably cheap just like food and life overall is just amazing. when i moved in here, almost everyday goes by with me wondering why i did not relocate long before now. So if you have such plan but feel discouraged, brace up and work hard towards it. life is not terrible as many people (with no experience abroad) tell you. Just be sure to have a good skill that pays, make proper research and prepare rightly before relocating. 11 Likes |

IyaTola: My UK Travel Story (Part 1)
As promised, I'm back to share this storyļæ½.
Before starting the story, I'd like to share something that some of you may relate to.
Sometimes, I struggle to get what others get quickly; I ask myself why? I also ask God why?
God's response has always been Chekwubechukwu; your path is different. By now, you should know you're unique and extraordinary.
Look back from when you were a child, and you'll see that your struggles contributed to who you are today.
A better version of YOU!
This has always been a difficult conversation with God, shedding uncontrollable tears and asking Him to make some things easy for me, at least.
The last time I conversed with Him, He made me remember when I was growing up. I remembered how timid I was, how I had a very low-esteem and confidence level.
He said if you didn't go through everything you went through, how would you have become this fearless, bold and tenacious woman today? How would you be adequately prepared to face the assignment I have given you?
Chekwube, I need to prepare you for the journey ahead!
To anyone whose story sounds like mine, that's your answer right there.
Your path is different.
Don't you ever think that because you struggle to get things like a good job, good relationship, scholarship, good marriage, financial assistance, etc., you aren't following God's will or doing what God has called you to do.
Yes, your path is different; you're unique and extraordinary.
Know this and know peaceļæ½.
To the story proper: I have struggled so much in the UK that no matter how much I try to use words to explain the experience, they may not capture the whole picture adequately.
Only a few people can handle being a self-funded student, especially in a school like the University of Liverpool. Working to pay monthly accommodation bills, transportation, feeding while attending classes, group meetings, getting assignments done etc. I remember the first few weeks after I arrived the UK, I was always crying, even on the roads, and I didn't care if anyone was watching.
At the time, there was a lot to get done, like school registration, sorting out accommodation, etc. I had already missed about four weeks of classes and had two pending individual coursework. I was always feeling overwhelmedļæ½.
I requested a 3-week extension to understand the school's system because I was scared of plagiarism and needed to understand the school rules on how to paraphrase well before getting the coursework done.
Indeed, leaving one's comfort zone is highly uncomfortable.

Dear Familanderā¤,
Compliments of the season!
Wishing everyone a joyous and a beautiful Christmas and New Year celebration
Cheers! Chekube

jesusjnr2020: What I Was Offered By An Occultist While Preaching In A Bus Park
This happened not long after I had returned from the 40-day turned 9 days dry fast I embarked on in the "wilderness", which I shared here early last year, as that gave me the audacity I needed to begin to live the life of the Spirit here on Earth and to boldly preach the Gospel of Christ on the streets of the FCT.
https://www.nairaland.com/6443340/what-happened-me-when-attempted
https://www.nairaland.com/6203578/day-faced-police-brutality-preaching/2#95312849
On this particular day, I had come out in the morning as usual and began preaching. In the course of my preaching, i entered into a bus park, and continued to preach at top of my voice (I don't think I had gotten a megaphone yet), "REPENT, AND GIVE YOUR LIFE TO JESUS" or whatever I was saying at the time.
I was in full flow, but as i was preaching, I began to hear a voice screaming, "where is he?" "where hin dey?"
I wasn't sure about what was happening, but as I continued to preach, the voice continued to ask loudly, "where hin dey?" It now become clearer that it was Jesus who I was preaching about that the voice was asking me about, so I sought to know where the voice was coming from and the person behind the voice.
I later saw it was a man who sat by the window of a parked empty bus that was asking the question, so I went towards him to seek what he was about and also to use the opportunity to preach to him.
It was only after i had gotten into the bus he was and sat beside him that I got to realize what the man was about and that he wasn't really seeking for any answers but actually an occultist who appeared troubled by my preaching of the Gospel of Christ in the bus park.
He told me that he was just coming from a midnight meeting (12am - 4am) held atop Zuma rock, located in Suleja, Niger State. He said that he'd not yet had sleep, that I should be able to see it in his eyes.
He also said he knew me, that I could see the way he looked at me while he was entering into the park, and I could remember seeing him passing by and looking at me while entering into the park, but I thought it was just because I was preaching.
He then went on to mention some characters in the Bible using them as reference to what he knew about me. He said that I was strong like Samson and wise like King Solomon.
He said that I should leave what I was doing and join them, that I would become rich. He told me about some of his riches.
He also told me that most of the richest and popular church leaders were part of their group and mentioned some of their names to further entice me.
However while he was yet trying to convince me to join them, something happened that struck me.
As i was trying to show him something in the Bible I was holding while preaching to him, and consequently moved it closer towards him and where he was, I noticed that the guy suddenly dodged and took cover as if I had just pointed a gun or wielded a knife at him.
Lol! I didn't see that coming at all. The way he panicked.
This was still the same guy who's trying to persuade me to join the occult, yet he couldn't even succeed in hiding his phobia for what I had from me. He even made it more glaring, to confirm that it was indeed more powerful and stronger than whatever he or his group had or could muster.
So why would I want to leave what I had for something clearly worse or much less, just because of riches or whatever he was offering in exchange for it?
So that with the so-called riches or whatever he had to offer, I would now start living in fear of those like me as he was?
If anything, he ended convincing me and giving a powerful reason never to join the occult, because he hence proved that POWER pass power, and that GREATER is HE that is in me than he that's in any occultist.
God bless. Some of you just think everyone is stupid like yourself 1 Like |
