Thanks, am truly enjoying myself. Canada is sweet!
TravelRe: From Uk To Canada, which Way? by daddee: 11:43pm On Feb 25, 2012
@ Rolnado,
You are correct in a way. Maybe I should reframe my statement and say "its not as bad as it used to be". When I got to Canada last year I heard a lot of negative confessions but I decided to push on. I lost the first job opportunity on the basis that I did not study in Canada but two weeks after that I got a better one (less than 2 mnths in canada). The guy told me e liked my resume and will give me an offer but with lower pay due to lack of Canadian experience. He wasn't sure if I could withstand working in a -40 celcius environment. After the first month e reviewed my pay to the normal canadian standard.
The non canadian experience thing was much during the 08s not now.
But like u have rightly said, different people have got different stories. I still believe Canada is better than both US and Europe.

Ronaldo200:
study is easiest route.

Stay in UK, Its better. what is use of having paper and no job? In Canada they dont value any credential outside of Canada (and sometime yankee). Slow to get a decent job - so many people here over qualified doing so many different things. I know of many people with permanent residency here stuck in dead end job. Please, be careful, Grass not always greener.
Gone are the days when employers will tell you that your certificate/credentials obtained outside of Canada are of no relevance. If you are good at what you do, you will land a decent job in no time (depending on your profession anyway). As an accountant for example, provided you can pass their certification, you are good to go. Doesn't matter where you studied!
Christianity EtcSay A Prayer For Nigeria by daddee(op): 11:46am On Aug 27, 2011
Great Nigerian brothers and sisters, please lets come together and pray for our beloved country Nigeria. With the recent happenings, you all will agree with me that the situation has passed what a man or government can handle. Let’s say a pray for Nigeria, you never know what the wonder the words of your prayers can do. Prayer changes hands, hands change things. (Psalm 50:15)

God please intervene in the affairs of Nigeria and bring alive all its dead bones (love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, etc). Restore unto the nation that the devil has stolen in Jesus name, AMEN.
Nairaland GeneralAstronomers Discover Planet Made Of Diamond by daddee(op): 12:07pm On Aug 26, 2011
LONDON (Reuters) - Astronomers have spotted an exotic planet that seems to be made of diamond racing around a tiny star in our galactic backyard.

The new planet is far denser than any other known so far and consists largely of carbon. Because it is so dense, scientists calculate the carbon must be crystalline, so a large part of this strange world will effectively be diamond.

"The evolutionary history and amazing density of the planet all suggest it is comprised of carbon -- i.e. a massive diamond orbiting a neutron star every two hours in an orbit so tight it would fit inside our own Sun," said Matthew Bailes of Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne.

Lying 4,000 light years away, or around an eighth of the way toward the center of the Milky Way from the Earth, the planet is probably the remnant of a once-massive star that has lost its outer layers to the so-called pulsar star it orbits.

Pulsars are tiny, dead neutron stars that are only around 20 kilometers (12.4 miles) in diameter and spin hundreds of times a second, emitting beams of radiation,

Even though our education is shiiiit these days, please do not insult our intelligence, are you telling us the ministry officials who would probably be Geologist, Geo-physicians and other soil and physical geographers don't know the diffrence between tar-sand bitumen and oil. I begi, it is like  u telling me a 'Masai' in Kenya does not know the diffrence between a Lion and a Leopard. Oil is not a remote or scarce commodity in Nigeria, we breathe it, we are blessed with it,  and it sips uncontrollable from our ground,  it would be unfathamable to think a qualified Geologist in Nigeria does not or has never seen an oil residual b4. I beg to differ.  huh
This contradicts your username cos you don't know this.

May God save us from Educated illiterates in Nigeria!! How can a geoscientist 'assure' you of finding oil thousands of feet below the earth? No geoscientist will ever ASSURE you of that, and this with no obvious seismic shows!
See the kind of dolts we have running NNPC.
I don't seem to understand your post. Are you implying that oil is found in thousands of feet above the earth?
*His 'assurance' was probably based on exploration results which he wouldn't have done without seismic.
FamilyRe: Moving Out From Parent's House- Your Experience! by daddee: 9:36am On Feb 08, 2011
One should move out of his parent's house when his time is set, no necessarily working with another man's clock,

I have always stayed in my parent's house from birth till university education - no boarding school experience.
My first time ever outta my parent's house was when I went for NYSC (@ 21). During NYSC, I started a biz back at home (was run by my mum on my behalf). After the NYSC I went back to the same house to continue with my biz and lived there for another four months before I got a job that moved me out of the state. After four years on the job, I got to a status that allowed me to live at any state/city of my choice and work from there with all travel expenses paid by the company. I returned back to my parent's house. My parents are very comfortable but that is not to say I wasn't contributing my input to the finances. They didn't want it but I told them to let me feel responsible. Was in my parents house when I got my first house (in the same city). Moved from my parents house to my own house few months to my wedding @ 27.

The poster didn't say if the cooking issue is an habitual thing or happened only one night due to her tiredness.

Nursing a baby is not an easy task so if she says she's tired believe her. Yes, its her duty to cook but I believe there is no crime in your lil brother asking your wife if he could help do the cooking seeing that time's gone and there is no sign of food,
