I live right here in Lagos and love it and it's quite livable FOR ME because I have money and live on Lagos Island - the part with the famed life style that's being referenced! The part of Lagos that has the famed lifestyle that foreigners reference is actually very livable.

Generally speaking the more vibrant the nightlife, the more unlivable the area comparatively. Vibrant Nightlife comes with crime, drugs, robberies, traffic, noise, pollution, street prostitutes etc. so it goes without saying that the more vibrant the nightlife of an area or a city the more unpleasant it is to live. There is nothing inconsistent with Lagos ranking high on nightlife and low on livability…..infact that is the general expectation. Learn to stick to the issue….the article did not claim Lagos is a nice place to live.

Rankings of Nightlife by more established media don't have any of these cities in top 5. No cities ranked low in livability rank top 5 in nightlife
