DCPs and Colonels going for the same course means their ranks are of parity.

So a DCP being promoted to CP at the same time as his Colonel course mate becoming a Brigadier General makes the ranks equivalent, seniority notwithstanding.

To further strengthen this, during our many military administrations, when a coup happened, governors are always replaced by the Brigade Commander in the state.

Where Brigade Commanders are absent, the Commissioner of Police replaces the governor.

Argue with the bureaucracy that recognizes it as so.

As a junior officer, no salute because na police them be.

For those complaining about Ribadu being a cop, a retired AIG is as good as a Brigadier General.

However I would even dare say more senior AIGs, and the COMPOLs/AIGs that eventually make DIG are equivalent to Major General.

The Inspector General is equivalent to a Lieutenant General, seeing as he shares parity with all service chiefs except the CDS.

That's Tavor. It's only used by the DSS, EFCC and special squad of the army, airforce and navy.

Some police squads especially the Counter Terror and Special Protection Units also issue Tavor to their men.

I've seen Immigration and Civil Defence armed squads (VIP Protection) carrying this bad boy!
