Christianity EtcRe: The truth your pastor would not tell you about tithes by dafidixone(m): 10:00am On Feb 19, 2008
I am not suprised that some people who have been brain washed into tithing are still adamant to pay it even after all the bible scriptures quoted that reveals that tithe is not money, and it is not required of us as christians. if any body as any doubt as to what is written in this article, i suggest you take up your bible and read the quoted scriptures for a true understanding of what tithe really is. if after you have read what the bible defines tithes to be and what it is meant for and you still deceide to dash some pastor ten percent of your income then that is your personal wahala!!! as i said the truth shall set you free from this bondage. the bible says "my people perish for lack of knowlegde" . this statement is directed to those of you who still insist on paying tithes. because if you trully seek the word of God as it obtains in the bible, you would know that God does not require tithe from you.
In my last response to this thread, I was with the view that this poster is here to get knowledge and wisdom. Unfortunately form the quote above he has zero his mind to this sentive issue of tithe.

However, let me remind you that no matter how skillful you may be protecting your greed, the truth remain that God sees anyone who do not pay tithe as a Robber. I hope you will agree with me that no Robber (except repnt) would make heaven.

Tithe is a Command that we all must keep. If you have sentiment with men of God, then address your sentiment in the real sense of it. Your none payment of tithe is not away to deal with anyone. Your none payment even in the right proportion make you a coursed of God. Devourer will never be checked for your sake.

Tithe is im[portant as much as other work of faith so said Our Lord Jesus Christ.

@ poster, if you have not been paying your tithe regularly and in the right proportion change your way, you are aleady out of the way. the earlier the better.

I pray you will realise this before it is too late.

Face the truth homosexuality is a SIN! the bible condemns it and God hates it just like He hates every other sin.
Also one of the reasons God destroyed Sodom and Gomorah.

@poster,

Christianity EtcRe: Don't Replace The Word "A.L.L.A.H" With God, They Are Not The Same by dafidixone(m): 12:40pm On Feb 18, 2008
Christianity and I'slam do not share the same Abrahamic God. The god of the I'slam is allaah (the pagan god of the arabian land) and mohammedu is their spiritual leader, whom they see as prophet. Christians worship the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The Christians do not recognise muhammedu as a prophet, neither did the bible acknowledge muhammedu as the m'uslims claim.
I like to underscore your point here. grin Allah is one of the gods of the Arabs that belong to Muhammed's Father (Adbulah - Servant of allah). I guess Muhammed also missed the whole issue of taking that allah for God of Abraham just because Ismeal is of Abraham descendants.

@Imhotep,

Thanks for this good job of research. I hope this will silence those people who post, and argues blindly on this forum. They claim they have read vast on a particular subject but only to defend their assumptions with what they do not know.

Many of them will say the bible is too voluminous for them to read yet they claim it is incomplete.

Imhotep, that is a brilliant one grin.

Hello again!

Here is the February 2008 Bible Quiz as promised. But first, a word of thanks to all who participated in the January Quiz - without your interest and enthusiasm, we would not have come this far! We anticipate a greater participatory level in this month's entry. No shakings - it promises to be as exciting as last month's!!

General Instructions

1. Everyone is welcome to participate from around the world. The competition is free and cost nothing – absolutely nothing – to participate.

2. In order to qualify for nomination, all questions must be answered and forwarded to globalvilakoncept@yahoo.com - which means any questions left out disqualifies the entry.

3. Deadline for sending entries is Monday February 25, 2008. Replies received after this date will not be considered for award of any prizes.

4. Please note that while participants are welcome from around the world, at present only respondents located in Nigeria may be considered for award of prizes due to logistics.

5. Entries will be considered for winners on the most accurate answers on a first-come-first-serve basis. Please include references (e.g., Genesis 1 v 1) in your answers; and consider that timing and punctuation (spellings) are critical in deciding winners.

6. Judges' decisions are final, and entries must score a clean 80% for the prize in cases where there are ties!

We hope that all entries will come away as winners - but we trust that someone from the lot will prove the best in a thousand! So let's make this as much fun as we try to learn!

Christianity EtcSome Bible Verses About Love by dafidixone(op): 10:57am On Feb 14, 2008
Genesis 29:20 So Jacob worked seven years to pay for Rachel. But his love for her was so strong that it seemed to him but a few days.

Proverbs 5:19 A loving doe, a graceful deer—may her breasts satisfy you always, may you ever be captivated by her love.

Proverbs 10:12 Hatred stirs up dissension, but love covers over all wrongs.

Proverbs 13:24 Those who love their children care enough to discipline them.

Proverbs 15:17 A bowl of vegetables with someone you love is better than steak with someone you hate.

Proverbs 17:9 Love prospers when a fault is forgiven, but dwelling on it separates close friends.
Proverbs 17:17 A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.

Proverbs 30:18-19 There are three things that amaze me— no, four things that I don’t understand: how an eagle glides through the sky, how a snake slithers on a rock, how a ship navigates the ocean, how a man loves a woman.

Song of Solomon 1:2 Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth— for your love is more delightful than wine.

Song of Solomon 2:16 My lover is mine, and I am his.

Song of Solomon 4:10 How delightful is your love, my sister, my bride! How much more pleasing is your love than wine, and the fragrance of your perfume than any spice!

Song of Solomon 8:6 Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave. It burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame.
Song of Solomon 8:7 Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot wash it away. If one were to give all the wealth of his house for love, it would be utterly scorned.

John 15:13 Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.

1 Corinthians 13:1-8a and 13 If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails, And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is LOVE.

Ephesians 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.

Ephesians 5:33 However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.

Colossians 3:14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

1 Peter 4:8 Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.
1 John 3:16 This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.

1 John 3:18 Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth
1 John 4:8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.

1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

So Love should not only be celebrated today. Celebration of Love must be through out our life time.

Have a wonderful Valentine!

A holy man was having a conversation with the Lord one day and said, 'Lord, I would like to know what Heaven and Hell are like.'

The Lord led the holy man to two doors.

He opened one of the doors and the holy man looked in. In the middle of the room was a large round table. In the middle of the table was a large pot of stew, which smelled delicious and made the holy man's mouth water.

The people sitting around the table were thin and sickly. They appeared to be famished. They were holding spoons with very long handles that were strapped to their arms and each found it possible to reach into the pot of stew and take a spoonful. But because the handle was longer than their arms, they could not get the spoons back into their mouths.

The holy man shuddered at the sight of thei r misery and suffering.

The Lord said, 'You have seen Hell.'

They went to the next room and opened the door. It was exactly the same as the first one. There was the large round table with the large pot of stew which made the holy man's mouth water. The people were equipped with the same long-handled spoons, but here the people were well nourished and plump, laughing and talking. The holy man said, 'I don't understand.'

It is simple,' said the Lord.
'It requires but one skill. You see they have learned to feed each other, while the greedy think only of themselves.'

When Jesus died on the cross, he was thinking of you, not of himself.

It's estimated that 93% won't pass on this. If you are one of the 7% who will, pass it with the title '7%'.

I'm in the 7%; remember that I will always share my spoon with you.
Christianity EtcRe: Should The Old Testament Laws Be Observed In The Modern Era? by dafidixone(m): 5:54pm On Feb 12, 2008
The Law of God is never changed for once. God is not man. So the issue of Old testament law does not even arise.

The Law of God is Law of God.

Beware what you call law might not neccessarily be laws. Think well before you argue further on this topic.

if you force the child she will probably not listen to anything and just going to church forced or not does not make u a Christian
I was once like her, My dad was a deacon and founder of a church he always force me to go to church against my wish. I must tell you now I realised he has done a very good job by not letting me go astray. If the parent refuse to play her part now. I am sorry, she will be blamed for that in the furture. I am not a disciplinarian but I beleive better application of punishment could realy work wonders in the life of a teeager like her.

However, if you are not residing in Nigeria you may not be able to have any control over your child.

Lord! Teach Me to Number my days !

90:12 So teach [us] to number our days, that we may apply [our] hearts unto wisdom.
Psalms 90:12 KJV

Time is Wisdom, every year at about this time I flash back on where I was coming from but my concern is how we feel on the issue of "getting older." The reason I think about it at this time of year is that I celebrate another year of life in February 11.

The interesting thing about this process is that each of us faces the same inescapable prospect, yet we all handle it differently. It all depends on our perspective.

Our lifetime passes quickly, as the writer of Psalm 90 pointed out so bluntly. Because that is the truth.

For us to use our days properly, we need to develop a positive outlook on the passage of time. In Psalm 90, we learn that a correct view of life includes a search for wisdom, a dependence on God's mercy and a request for God's favor. As we maintain this perspective, we will enjoy the passage of time.

WHAT YOU WILL BE TOMORROW DEPENDS ON THE CHOICES YOU MAKE TODAY.

So as you celebrate or read my mode of celebration today (Choose this day who you will serve) God or satan. I pray you make heavn not hell.

Remeber no one can stop time from passing. But we can make the most of the time we do have here on this earth. The days of our lives are counted, but only the Lord knows the day we will leave this earth.

Sadly, because we think we have all of the time in the world, we often leave the most important matters for later. The Bible never promises tomorrow, we may not be here tomorrow. Today is the day we have. We should use it wisely, live it well and seek God's wisdom and guidance.

My big question to you at this time is: Do you know your Saviour? If you do, you are enjoying the fellowship with God. If you don't, ask God to come into your heart today, forgive you and guide your life. Don't delay, you may be running out of time.

God I thank you for adding a year to my year today!

Let somebody shout Halleluyah!

Proverbs 13:24
He who spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is careful to discipline him.

I think your child is not passed this stage.  If you will force her do that in Love.
