@siena I am also one of your Nairaland Elder Statesmen fans and admirers, but i have to say that you deliberately ignored my appeal for contributions when i raised a thread on the implications of buying vehicles with very high odometer. I remember i specifically mentioned you so that you will contribute because seriously i believe anything you say on any modern vehicle is sacrosanct. I did not even know your level of education and areas of specialization before having this deep confidence in you. I really felt bad more so when i specifically mentioned you, but there was nothing i could do as no be me send you to school. At my level and exposure i saw through my third eye that you got stuff, and in your usual conciliatory nature will you now explain why you deliberately ignored my post otherwise you will pay a gourd of palm wine, one he goat, ten tubers of yam and one 25lts keg of palm oil for the elders of Nairaland. ![]() |
@sdbaba Before the technical session was suspended, he had reported that a minimum of ]N192 billion is to be generated from the issuance of the new driver’s license and number plates in the next one year Hmmnnnn Huh Huh Huh Bolded mine. That is the main reason why they put it on hold. They can not imagine that such huge money will pass bye without them having their own share. Its like you have much faith in them, if you have a new vehicle you need to take out do not risk riding it without plate numbers. Do not be suprised that at the end of the day you may still pay the same amount or a little reduction after Alagba Chidoka would have played "ball" Many of them are yet to repay their loans and those that sold their real properties need to replace them se you know? |
Sorry for replying late, it included everything nothing left. |
I got mine for N34000 just last Friday, but because i was in haste, instead of Ikeja KJA i was given AGL guess what ? It is Ajegunle (AJ City) number anyways no long thing na Lagos number. In case you want one (not necessarily Ajegunle) i can link you to the guy in Ikeja Licensing office. You may hit me on 08038472375 finis |
^^^Beautiful!!! What is the fuel type? Gasoline or petrol The long and short of my questions and that of the "Special One" of auto segment- Siena: is that this kind of advert does not belong here |
Some dudes who believe its only Japanese or no other vehicle will surely fall for the trap you bet |
I called one guy that has been handling my vehicles' registration over the years yesterday he told me that it would cost me N35,000 but that i should wait till say next week when the initial rush would have fizzled out he said that the price will surely go down a bit. Very hiosnest guy. |
I think i am through with you and is that supposed to be the best response to my post? I called you this morning i think twice, you said you were on Okada, i gave you some time and in called back only for you to tell me to look for another number of yours to call you and yet you are repeating your post daily looking for customers Well my conclusion: the voice i heard twice on phone did not sound like that of a person that knows the difference between a typewriter and a computer most probably someone is doing the posts for you on contract basis. The way you have behaved today is definitely not the way i expect anybody advertising in a forum like Nairaland to behave , so long |
1980-84 (University days) VW Beetle-sold longest time |
Bross Kokoro i marvel at the way some of your colleagues in this spare key/coding and remote sector in this NL autos section react to potential customers. You are the fourth i am responding to their adverts since yesterday night, suprisingly no reply. I even sent a mail to one who gave his e-mail address still up till this time its past 1100pm this night no reply. I have your numbers i could not call cos it is late, but expect my call any time from 0800hrs tomorrow so we can discuss my key problem- serious client, pls. Good nite |
I have read through most of the posts on this thread and everybody has given his/her candid opinions and personal experiences on the issue. The only statement i want to disagree with is the saying that 95%, 80% blah blah of the vehicles imported to Naija have salvage titles. On my honour i think as at the last count i have checked the vins of nothing less than 12 different SUVs mostly Ford Explorers XLT thanks to cretin and autocheckng both of NL of all only two came close to what we have been advised to run away from in American used vehicles. One was reported to have been registered in a flood area, but the report warned that it might not have been caught in the flood as it was probably registered and moved out of the area before the flood came in. The other one was clearly said to be flood salvaged, on seeing the vin report of this one, Carl Lewis or even Usain Bolt will be green with envy the way i took off from the dealer, and surprisingly some of them were even completely accident free!!! But we are always warned that "not all accidents are reported to autocheck" From experience the guys in the US who go for the auctions do tell their dealers in Naija which vehicles had accident and which one has savage titles so this reflects on the price tag they place on this vehicles. The long and short of my post is that we should not wave off our auto dealers as a bunch of wicked, heartless beings they too know that like what my people say if you throw a stone to a market your own close relation may be the target. NB pls i am not a dealer o i have been on Lagos streets for the past three weeks looking for a SUV and i have bought one case closed. |
Hi brother, i used to live in Ibadan, but now based in Lagos i need a spare key plus remote and programming for a 2002 Ford Explorer XLT 4.0 V6. Is this possible/available? If yes how much? Holla back on time i do not want to risk using a single key thats why i just packed the car for now for now. Pls holla me urgently my e-mail is oscar574life@hotmail.com. If possible explain the modalities i can always travel down mostly on a Saturday. Expecting your mail, pls |
My brother good day, how much will it cost me to make a duplicate key and remote with programming for my Ford Explorer XLT 2002 V6 4.0 engnie? Pls send reply to oscar574life@hotmail.com, if its possible you got a client. I was considering doing it in Ibadan but why should i search for something in my sokoto by going to Sokoto. Holla fast bross i am waiting |
My friend friendl you remember me the man that came this last Saturday wearing brown brocade with the Awo cap to match in company of my son. Like i told you candidly that day, you need to discuss with your Principal or the other way round about the need to consider the prices, i will not say more than that. Well i have gotten myself one. A gold colour, completely accident free (i have the complete vin report) though 2 row sitter (not important) As for those who will shout Holly Moses that a sane Nigerian is buying a Ford Explorer!!!! No sweat thanks be to God there is Choscharis and now RT Briscoe-Ford garages in and around Naija they will handle it until i am tired of it and sell it at a give away price after i might have used my own finish, afterall one freekin alcoholic American don ride am for 7 good years ++ why and how will i ride it for another ten years? Wait till 2 years time DV Insha Allah i will surely give testimony of the true greatness of the God's own country, but Nigerians run away from appreciating them when it comes to auto technology, it is either Camry, Honda, Highlander bla bla bla and robbers and car thieves will be pursuing users like an Ibadan masquerade bearing canes would pursue children ![]() |
Its entertainment with some real action at times. The rock confirmed this in one interview in his active wrestling days. he said most of the fights were real and that some of them are preplanned. In any case its one of my favourite tv programmes, i watch wwe on etv virtually every afternoon in my office during the week. Sure i know that some of the matches are planned and acted but blows, kicks and the violence are most of the time hard drug induced are real and i enjoy it a lot. |
will N2.7m fly this one? Serious buyer pls. Naija used explorer N1.7m na wah for auto dealers o |
well a big thanks to all of you that have responded to my topic. Most of the posts have proferred possible reasons for high odometer readings, but my lay man's fear is that if i buy a vehicle with an odometer reading of say 195000 i may not be able to ride it for more than two years before it will start emitting smoke. This is my main fear. |
cretin The special one i have since sent another vin plus the token to your mtn line close to some three hours now, its very much unlike you i haven't heardf anything from you. Anyways i am still ex[pecting the reply, cheers |
I called you sometimes 1035hrs of date you didn't pick my call but i sent a text immediately u should have seen it a glo number 08079071332 we sure need to talk on those rides. |
Fellow Nairalanders i have checked the vin reports of many vehicles in recent times, my observation is that most of the 8-10 years vehicles normally have between 120k-190++. Under this type of situation what are the possible implications of buying a vehicle probably a SUV that has the odometer reading falling under this category? I know auto gurus in the house are always there to help us the greenhorns in automobile anatomy, so please assist and analyse the implications so that i will use as a guide to make my choice. @siena your usual indepth and informed contribution will be appreciated |
Sorry for my bad manners my big brother, i was too preoccupied with certain matters that was why i didn't acknowledge the report. As for posting the credit on NL like the great Fela once said 'na God save man'. You sef you dey fast so you don see am before i modified my post You will definitely still hear from me days to come because i am still looking for issueless ride. Good nite |

Haba cretin i be GO of my own church in my cabin o thanks my brother anyway. U can see my anxiety about the SUV. For the sake of trust i will still honour my obligation you can then send the second one after service, but the one you sent now is the main gagan. Thanks i will text the koko later |

My dear Export1 grateful run this VIN for me as i am about to pay for the vehicle ON Monday so that i will not enter one chance 1FMZU73E02ZB83048 |
Generally Japanese series: Toyota of all brands particularly the types that Nigerians rush at e.g Camry, Corolla, Avensis and now Highlander SUVs. The next types stolen are the Accord series. The reasons are simple these guys know that there is ready made market for any of these vehicles because according to our people they have second hand value. I still wonder why Nigerians run away from highly rugged German series viz Benz and BMW and the highly secured and equally rugged Volvo series. As for me o, any vehicle that i will ride and i will be bearing my service pistol all the time i run away from them like lepers no matter the amount of favourable Nigerian stereotypes about them. The sum up of my story is that i buy any car available in Naija market in as much as the tokunbo parts are readily available and there are good mechanics, finis. |
@cretin knidly do an urgent VIN check of this vehicle for me kndjc733335144059 treat mine like you did for the other guy post just the introductory part then send your phone no so that i can send the credit immediately, thanks. My e-mail is goguntuase@yahoo.com |

@moderator Olboy you call me a slowpoke? The emoticons at the end of my post should have told you that it was a joke and a sarcasm to his 'i am not a lion/tiger/general' speech and by any standard you are not the one to ask me to define democracy. Do me a favour go to your freekin weather beaten father to do that for you, but make sure he has not taken his ogogoro/paraga/kainkain as usual hence he misleads you. Omo ale i am not your mate!!! |
After carefully reading through the thread i can not see where a starting gun was shot for another ethnic bashing. Unfortunately most of the Yoruba boys/girls in NL may not have had the opportunity of travelling to some parts of the country where some of their aggressors come from, hence you fight from a disadvantage position knowing that most of your foes have all abandoned their clans for the south west. Even though our people say that an "adult should not join in a game of show of private parts", i get sick of some of the gabbage some of these guys post about the south west, and i restrain myself a lot not to join issues with anybody believing that those people doing that are likely to be minors. As an addition i travelled round the whole states of the federation by road between late January and March this year and this is not the first time in most of the locations and i know what i saw. |
This kind of ultimatum is uncalled for, these militants ![]() |
I think the Minister was only playing to the gallery. Of what good is our support to the misguided bloody terrorist, a spoilt mummy's boy. Abi they think Naija can settle or beg the judge to let him go. They should not kill him he should be put away for life so that he will live to pass some messages to potential Abdulmutallabs of Nigeria shior. The other day i was on my way to Lyon for a conference, on arrival at Charles De Gaulle airport you need to see the way all Nigerians on that Air France flight were asked to step aside for rigorous search particularly those of them that were on transit to the far East. I and my junior colleague were spared of the embarrassment because 1- we were carrying official blue passport and 2nd we were going to Lyon i believe they must have followed us and stopped after knowing our status. That is what our coke pushers and the likes of Abdullmutallab have caused us in Nigeria. |
anyways no long thing na Lagos number. In case you want one (not necessarily Ajegunle) i can link you to the guy in Ikeja Licensing office. You may hit me on 08038472375 finis
