I thank you guys who have educated most of us about the Kiriji war on this thread. It is shame that i did not know one tenth of all i have read on this thread. I have always been interested in knowing these things but i could not lay my hands on any material when i was a less busy man, that was responsible for my purposely driving down to Unilag bookshop one day in the late 90s to get a copy of Samuel Johnson's book but it was not available that day, this thread will ginger me to still look for it and if possible look for some other books mentioned. Even though at a stage i was scared that the Kiriji war was going to be reenacted going by the posts of some of the principal facilitators but the typical Oduduwa spirit stepped in to douse the impending reenactment. Once again God will bless you all for this good work |

@ikenna351 Thanks for the enlightenment and God bless |
Yoruba people tend to have like a high likelihood of twins, triplets, quadruplets. I dont know why though. Like its very rare for caucasians to get identical twins but i know so many people who have twins and triplets. You are right, particularly among the Ekiti sub group. A researcher once concluded that the high rate of multiple birth is due to high consumption of yam in the area. There is the occurrence of one set of twins or two per couple in my extended family. I am a twin (Taiwo) too but my Keinde has traveled to Afghanistan ![]() |
This is awesome, i never heard about them until now. Congratulations to their parents it is not easy |
There was no complaint just last week when the same law was implemented to the letters in Enugu, hope you remember that the same democracy/civil rule existed then. I hope the people of Enugu have not boxed themselves into a tight corner. I doubt if any aluta no matter how legitimate will ever hold in that state any more. |
@richidinho you are a consummate juvenile delinquent. You should learn to contribute to issues meaningfully and stop behaving like an Upper Iweka junction, Onitsha street urchin |
Posted by: ndu_chucks Insert Quote I thought SE did not participate in the subsidy protests. Can't these organizers do anything right? Nonsense. Quote The Ikemba Nnewi, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, who died in a London hospital late last year, will be buried on March 1, 2012. His burial was earlier scheduled for February 3. The burial committee set up by Ohanaeze and other interest groups and headed by Professor A.B.C Nwosu announced this change in date yesterday. While expressing regret over the change in date, the committee said that it was as a result of the protest and strike by organised labour and civil society groups over the withdrawal of subsidy on fuel which it said impacted negatively on earlier arrangement. It said, however, that the change in date would not affect the elaborate arrangement put in place to give the Eze Igbo Gburugburu a befitting burial. http://www.leadership.ng/nga/articles/13908/2012/01/20/ojukwu_be_buried_march_1.htm Noted, please. But sha no problem in as much as his MANHOOD is still with us ![]() |
I think Governor Fashola is not as cheap as to call for deployment of soldiers to come and shoot down peaceful protesters and at the same time cry out loud to the whole world against the exercise. We all know operation MESA has been in operation in Lagos for some time now. They are seen patrolling in pick-ups only, but the soldiers that are still occupying some parts of Lagos have different types of SMG mounted APCs. This type of Uche Chukwumerije propaganda will not work. They should stop calling dog monkey for us to save their faces. |
No qualms, a fellow widow visiting another widow no case jare. |
Another Jankara ex-parte order, nothing spoil. Barrister Dele Aturu is vindicated. Shior na today? Anyways we are waiting for the mother of all cabals at Bayelsa's governorship election |
My people i hail o another group of cabals have been identified, fuel station attendants catching on the opportunity to get their own subsidy before situation normalizes. My Moslem brothers you better be warned rams and goats will form a cabal before this year's Ileya festival to prevent you from slaughtering them. The next cabal to be dealt with is the one causing almost 2 months ASSU strike. Nigeria we hail thee, |
, na paddy paddy government we dey o e gba mi o, na arrangee government be this o ye paripa o, Abami Eda lives on |
@Xzikob Thanks to you and others that have contributed to this thread despite the fact that i thought it was dead. Well like my people always say a "Sango dancer that dances and refuses to kick the air na him abuku (disgrace)". I remember i specifically mentioned some so called experts who i believe may have a deeper knowledge of the topic of the thread, they avoided it like one would avoid a leper, no peoblem. Finis |
I think this is photo journalism the people i am seeing in these pictures are Ogbomosho, Ekiti, Ilaje people from SW, Kaje, Kadara, Koro, Gbagyi, Koma and Fulani all from the north. How can igbos protest what does not affect them? |
Maybe they want to maintain some level of balance in their coverage of the whole thing, just like Channels did yesterday nite when they aired the press conferences of some groups supporting the removal of subsidy even president of NANS And you have to remember if they are not careful the regulatory body may pounce on them and withdraw their operating license |
Just a question please: Is test firing of the new range of SAM (surface to air missile) the ogbunigwe gburugburu 2 part of the burial ceremony? I hope this is necessary to show the so called cowards in SW that Biafra part two is real and if it will happen please tell Nwazurike to aim it at the Niger Delta so that the Beaf sposored alliance between the republics of Niger Delta and New Biafra will be put to test. Awon olori buruku dede a very long shioooooooooooooooooooor |
Very good that is to tell those suffering from Down syndrome in Nairaland who say Yorubas are tribalists that when there is civil disobedience Yorubas do not spare any of their own believed to be among their oppressors. Maybe those Senators attacked were not Yorubas, may be |
I thought some lunatics on Nairaland said its a South West (Yoruba) protest. We are following everything with keen interest we shall see who will laugh last. |
osted by: tashan Insert Quote @kunle-A You shouldn't justify circumventing the law. You should rather offer the poster assistance in purchasing a vehicle that can go through the ports at a good price. I fear my brother o. You can imagine supposedly educated Nigerians in the name of making money, telling the whole world that thay can go criminal if they want, it is sad. |
Bros those "criminals" are Nigerians why did they not come out before Monday to cause mayhem? The government created an enabling environment for them to operate QED |
Gadem how did 'Governor Bitumen' escape from the scene He should have been given the beating of his life to at least send a message to his band of People Destruction Party (PDP) that Nigerians are angry with them all. Please tell that ex-militant Beaf if he is in Nigeria to take a drive from Yaba to Ojota and identify himself to demonstrators that he is Beaf of Nairaland, he may be |
Is there no accredited Peugeot workshop in the whole of Port Harcourt? ![]() |
Good move because Late Baba Adedibu's foot soldiers are still very active in Ibadan and environs. 7PM-7AM is no big deal demonstrators form up anytime from 0800hrs so the aluta continues we should all resist this new year bad luck given to us by Mr. Badluck himself who because he can now afford designers shoes has decided to remove shoes from the feet of Nigerians that voted for him in millions. God forbid |
Posted by: Siena Insert Quote I believe bicycles are an option, for short trips. Driving for a 4-mile round trip is pointless. Car sharing is also another idea, if two or more people live and work in the same area, sharing a car and splitting the cost of fuel three ways will make things easier. If all three people own cars, they can alternate who's car is used on a weekly basis. Posted on: Yesterday at 04:05:15 PM Bravo! Brilliant idea myself and my friend/colleague actually opted for this option sometimes between 1999-2004 while we lived at GRA Ikeja and worked at Ikoyi. All we did was to use either party's car for a week then next week it was the other. I still believe in the option because once i get to office around 0700hrs from Ayobo to Island my car remains untouched at my car park until i am leaving by 4pm. Honestly if there is a working and smooth public transport system i have no business driving that distance everyday, same applies to many Lagosians i believe. |
Unless there is something wrong, i think i have seen a few names here who less than three weeks back were using Nairaland to mobilize Lagosian of the Lekki-Ajah axis to rise up and unleash the North Africa type of revolution on Gov Fashola for daring to introduce toll on Lekki-Ajah expressway now defending a worse government policy. Those are the types of Nigerians in Nairaland. Nigeria we hail thee!!! |
Guys, be aware that the position of the Lagos Govt is that they want to concentrate on issuing new plate numbers for now so those that want to change their old plate numbers to new ones should wait a while. I ran into a radio program where the Commissioner in charge of of transport was made to clarify this. I am not a Lagos Govt spokes man please. |
Sorry my dear brother i have been off line since my last post, I have been preparing heavily for the Xtmas hence my absence on Nairaland. Well, I had to settle for a Ford Explorer, except it starts giving problems later, the working condition for now is near perfect in all ramifications. I want to assure you that based on the way you approached me even without meeting me, you are the type to deal with i will keep in touch because in no too distance future, i might come back to patronize you. Wishing you a happy, prosperous and profit filled new year my brother. ![]() |
Very Lovely!!! Well done my brother calculusx for the aggression and transparency you apply in your dealership business God will continue to bless you and your business. 'Egungun mo eni eniyan ko moo'. I was the egbon that used to exchange calls with you at the peak of my search for an SUV, i did not buy from you at last because as at that time you had only two pathfinders LE which as i told you then were becoming too common on Lagos roads for my liking. Keep the good job going, please |
Sounds cheery to hear that Ford Parts are available in Ojuelegba and Ladipo. I was kind of scared that they are not available because i just joined the Ford family and with the state of the one i bought and this good news, there is no looking back again. As for whether that guy at Omole is trustworthy, i cannot vouch for him yet since i am yet to visit him and as regards that my brother, 100% honest technicians are hard to find in Naija but you can always whip them back to line if they are going too far in their cheating acts |
I used to own a BB Bold 2 i got tired of it and transferred it to my 1st son, ever since i have had problem with deciding whether to buy a BB Tourch or Samsung Galaxy S. And I have gone through the posts of the Android fans i have not seen anything to convince me to shift camp. Don't they say a devil you know is better, ![]() |

And you have to remember if they are not careful the regulatory body may pounce on them and withdraw their operating license
