I heard the news on Channels Television hourly news story yesterday night that 13 Toyota Corrolas and one Sienna mini-van have been recovered from a smashed robbery gang. Pictures of the cars were displayed, and the PPRO advised that anybody who lost his/her Toyota Corolla to robbers or stolen at park should proceed to the O/C SARS office in Ikeja with proof of ownership. So people are paying now!!! Now the story is not about reenacting North Africa revolution, but CONGESTION : WHO IS THE IGNORANT ONE OR THE ONE TALKING CRAP NOW? Yesterday the umbrella body for all political parties in Nigeria CNPP backed the Lagos government on the issue of tolling claiming it was over politicized. When PDP joined the fray i knew the protest had died a premature death. Or are we still expecting the North African option? |
Well, i wish the people aggrieved in this matter all the best in their quest to fight their cause. I pray that the sense of reasoning will prevail on both sides at the end of the day, I know it is dialogue that will resolve this at the end of the day. I am out of here before i am torn apart and going to auto section to feed my eyes without being abused. Vidi Mose |
@Beaf thanks for your explanation at least you did not resort to abuses like others would do to push your point (ven though you advised me not to talk crap i obey you o . Ordinarily i would not have joined the debate it is the issue of alternative road provision that makes me dabble into this. But was there any proof that there was protest when the project was being planned? I am just asking may be if they had protested that time probably the government would have stopped it. |
@dagboss,u pay toll in a country where there is functional infrastructure not in nigeria where a cabal wants to extort money from pple by doing wht the needful .its our right to have good roads without toll.get that into your brain Fine if you were old enough when Lagos_Ibadan expressway was built, was there this kind of protest or people were not living in all the settlements along the express that time? Once others do not toe the line your thinking in Nairaland and you resort to abuse carry on pls |
Online Online Re: Lekki Toll Gate Protest-update « #41 on: Today at 01:51:56 PM » Quote from: dagboss on Today at 01:46:19 PM But i thought they say there is alternative route if you do not want to pay, then use that. We are quick to compare Nigeria to America, England and even Ghana!!! And yet we do not want development there are toll gates everywhere in the advanced world. Thats my view pls there is room for the abi iko ako igba toddlers roaming Nairaland to abuse me i will send you home in my reply, you bet You are indeed ignorant , yet you claim you to be in the best position to offer advice . . . Dude, your one funny joke I expected it am even surprised that you are the only one yet, so tell me why you feel i am ignorant. Ignorant of what that alternative route is not provided? Sorry son we can not all lay and put all our heads on the same position thats what my people say |

@odumchi Bigamy is a threat to modern law and civil order. In fact, that's one of the main reasons it wasn't implemented in the first place. First of all, with polygamy, diseases spread at a much faster rate. Second of all, strife usually results due to inheritance issues. Thirdly, how will a man with t[/b]wo wives be able to sign forms, take loans, and do other things when most institutions only recognize a family as: a man, his wife, and their children? well since the law has or is about to be repealed, such organizations will design new forms to take care of that Maybe this is a way of hitting back at America with their double standards. If it is human rights to allow a man to be f-- ing another man then it is super human right to be allowed to have more that one wife. It is even not part of our culture. It was Xtianity that brought it to us, and who brought Xtianity to Africa? Oyinbo, Bature. In any case most Naija big men have other wives outside their wedlock though they do it secretly. |
I own a BMW 3 series (COJA) sold recently, a Peugeot 307, a Volvo 940, a Ford Explorer and a Mazda MPV The main consideration for all is that armed robbers and auto thieves will hiss at their sight and continue to look for their favorites, hence 24 hours a day i feel conformable to drive any of them anywhere and anytime finis. |
Happy and profitable sale my brother. Its like Ford products have come to stay in Nigeria and i am a big fan |
Posted by: komekn Insert Quote I use to have an Explorer 2000 model sold now. However, I had a guy who serviced it for me in Omole phase 1, next door to a hotel called the Governors lodge he knew where to get parts as he specialised on American cars only, don't have his number now and it was 4 years ago. The guy is still very much there. His name is Wale while his GSM number is 08023191273. I got it through a thread here on NL i have spoken to him twice though i have not visited him yet. From my discussions with him he is versed in Ford matters he gave me a lot of useful advice after i bought my explorer and he assured me that i will never regret the decision and i think many people praised him in the said thread, so trace him he should be able to help. and if all else fails try Inspired-autos i have seen a thread where he has assisted many Nairalanders to source and imported auto spare parts in NLand i am sure he will be too willing to assist you. above all, the high numbers of Ford products like Explorer, Expedition, Edge, Ranger, Everest and their senior brother Lincoln Navigators etc that i see on Lagos roads daily the Igbo man spare dealers are very clever they will soon begin to import the parts in large numbers |
My take on this-if truly Ojukwu is a hero like the Igbos want other Nigerians to believe, changing UNN to his name should not be a big deal. Are you opponents telling me that UNN is bigger that the Great Ojukwu? What a pity. After all what the hell is the significance of the Nigeria in the name? Does it make it greater than Schools like OAU or even Uniben UI or ABU. There is absolutely nothing spectacular about the school. I had the opportunity to visit the campus sometimes late 1979 together with my late uncle who was a Champion Brewery Uyo distributor. On our way to Uyo We branched at the campus to see his friend who also comes from our home town, he was reading one education course that time. That evening he took us to their main Cafeteria which was so rowdy like a prison cafe and they served boiled yam with stew that looked like the poo of a goat that is suffering from congenital diarrhea. I left the food untouched. |
According to my man Osuofia in the popular MTN new advert., he told his kid sister who requested for a BB fone that she had to start with an AA before BB. Many of us here in NL have visited many gigantic shopping malls in Europe and South East Asia. So let this size be for now i know another consortium that will build another one will make it bigger, lets start somewhere first |
Nairalanders just rush into conclusions whenever an allegation is made yet you have not heard the other side of the story, does the said ladyy have any proof that she is the original singer of that Pakurumo. I have heard one or two Yoruba musician sang the same song even before Whiskid. Its just like any Yoruba Juju/Fuji musician threatening to sue another for singing Peperempe. I hope haters and jealous fools are not trying to use that poor girl to embarrass that young budding star. Anyway the girl dissapointed me by accusing Banky W of stealing Umbrella by Rhyana, did she find out if Banky W satisfied all requirements for copy-right permission before he performed the track, that girl should get educated, pls. Anyways haters should stay clear of that boy o, me my children and my wife who is glued to Yoruba gospel music bowed the day we watched the video for the first time and when we watched the sequel to his album Lunch at Eko Hotel on S channel on DSTV. finally i will prefer WK's music to that Agbero that sings very little and a lot of 'propoto pompom pompom propoto' nonsense!!! |
I do not blame Obama and his countrymen. If not our bad leaders both past and present who after grossing billions of dollars from oil sale over the years we still depend on foreign aid to service our budgets. Let them try that with China you will see the swiftness and anger they will deploy to tell Obama to shut up. How many years have they been telling China to improve on their human rights? If a Chinese is convicted for corruption, he is executed pronto. And for some stupid Nigerians in diaspora who feel anything America and or Europe does is the standard, come back home and demonstrate in Oshodi with your placards calling for human rights on Homo and lesbianism then we shall see how it will end. |
@werepeLeri I need one like this to travel to and from Lagos Island and Ayobo-Ipaja and to and fro Lagos-Benin when i want to see old friends and mates in Benin ![]() |
Thank you my Guru Siena, I personally have visited virtually all Nigerian online auto markets I can say without any fear that there is no other one better that autos-Nairaland in every material particular ![]() |
There is a guy in Ladipo auto-parts market along the main road some 100 meters after the AP Petrol station on the right hand side coming in through Fatai Atere side. He has a small shop by the road side, but his main place is in a warehouse directly at the back of the shop. He calls himself America as he deals on mainly American autos-the Fords GMs, Cevrolet, Chryslers etc. I used to have his number but there was a time i called him a couple of times and his number remained perpetually switched off i later got the info from his friend that the phone was stolen so i do not have his number for now. I got to know him when i went to get Explorer's alloy wheel covers. I interviewed him and he assured me that their warehouse has an array of tokunbo parts for most American cars and SUVs. So try the place. Also I have been hearing it many years ago that Ojuelegba is the main place for American autos spare parts, but i have not had chance to verify this maybe you try the place too (Ojuelegba) towards Tejuoso mall. I hope these two places should help. |
Brain drain! brain drain!! drain brain!!! whatever. Nigerians have been traveling out for greener pastures since time immemorial. It is now worse no thanks to our drowning economy, bad and vision-less leadership over decades. But come to think of it- with the number of Nigerian doctors in the US and Saudi Arabia and other top rated professionals all over the advanced world, is it not instructive that this country has not collapsed completely like so many N/Landers would want it to be. But since you people have lost hope completely on this country, me too I am waiting eagerly for the CIA year maybe that will solve this Naija bashing for life. |
Chei this fine gentle man just died like that. A couple of years back I met him one on one once along Government Model College Kakon road off Badagry/Seme express way , then he was the OC Border patrol. Two things struck me when i parked by him- he looked much younger and more handsome than what i used to see in newspapers and he was so disciplined and humble, the moment i introduced myself to him and knowing that i was his superior he immediately gave me an official compliment he was not the type that allowed his international fame to affect his natural behaviors, i told him i was seeing him live for the first time and i told him that i admired him a lot and he thanked me. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace. |
lagerwhenindoubt Look man, people don't have to put on their Sunday best and go to the mall although I think one should look appropriate when going to the mall. During summer, I wear flip-flop because when it's super hot, Some people wear tank tops to the mall, shorts, slippers or flip flops, etc , it sure doesn't make them any less than you are, different things work for different folks. Dont mind them bro, visit Darwin in Northern Australia you will see many Aborigines wearing bathroom slippers entering and going out of shopping malls, cafes and elsewhere dead drunk as early as 10am even in Australia! I dont think wearing a bathroom slippers to a mall is a big deal in as much as the wearer does not wear the type you will see with a scavenger on duty at the Oregun/Ojota gabbage dump site, and do not forget that bathroom slippers is Xtmas wear for some people |
please, wen will abule egba, agbado and beyond become part of the eko o ni baje runs?!!! And Ayobo -Ipaja axis too, eko don baje finish for this area o ![]() |
@muskeeto Even though many who has raised the status of the likes of the Adeboyes, Oyedepos, Chrises of this world to the level above normal human beings will think something is wrong with you on your position, but i want to tell you that you are not alone. My brother the way these new generation churches are propagating their own brand of xtianity is baffling me. They cajole people to pay their tithes and defaulters are alleged to be 'robbing' God. Their hard earned money is used to build secondary schools and Universities they can not send their children to and above all they use their money to buy the latest Gulf-stream, Embrea etc state of the art private jets, something majority of the foolish members will never see not to talk of flying in. I started looking at them twice a few years back when one of the popular pastors said he had no qualms about how any of his members donating money to his church gets his monies. |
Lordy!!! so this car is so loaded like this and for this price? If i had known i wouldn't have bought the suv i bought as i am not a die hard Japanese auto. Anyways i will keep an eye on another one next year. I wish you profitable sale brother. |
Just as i do not pretend to know the technicalities involved in the conversion of cars from right hand to left hand, it may be that the lady was unlucky to have patronized a wrong technician. I know of an man at Volvo line in Ladipo in the compound where i service my wife's Volvo 940. This guy is so good (so I believe) because anytime i visited the place i used to see up to 5-6 Peugeot 406 being worked on or just being brought in. And i remember asking my mechanic on one occasion how good the guy was, he confirmed that he is so good that he could not count how many 406 he converts in a month. I also remember in 1973 (i was in class 3 in the high school) when we changed to left hand drive my in law who specialized in Volkswagen products in Agodi Gate Ibadan changed many tokunbo VW products brought in by many University of Ibadan Lecturers that brought their cars in from the countries where they studied and i do not think they ever came back with any problems. But we may argue that vehicles were not this high tech then. |
@BizBooks God Almighty will bless you for the approach in the way you advertize your cars that have issues. Some other unscrupulous dealers would have hidden the problem waiting for the unfortunate buyer to fall into the trap. I have a nasty experience like that but this is not the right time to relay it. Once again God will continue to bless you in your business. |
I praise nairalanders that have responded to this thread as they may have got some of the characteristics of a bat to be able to connect with the pictures because i tried to bend round to be able to see but not possible ![]() |
@Akpaamu Getting after sale repairs should not be much of a problem as we have Peugeot accredited sales and services centers scattered in Lagos and all around Nigeria, they are well equipped to handle any make of Peugeot. I have a 307 bought 2006 Sept the only roadside technician that has touched it were vulcanisers- just to inflate or change tires. The only time i was out of the areas covered by these service centers was when i was in Ekiti for like 6 months last year, i used to travel down to Ibadan and service it and do the checks. |
I vote for Siena. His advises and contributions to discussions on the auto section have educated me and i believe others too |
I hope this includes Nigeria. How will they impliment this like, who pays for the shipping and after fixing it will owners pay another duty to have them back in Naija. Or the recall will be handled by local Honda garages around the world? I am asking these questions because i have never followed such recall before. But sha if they will be taken back to the US or Japan some of the locals in these locations may faint at the sight of battered cars Nigerians ride more so 2001 cars. Hum |
@siena Thanks for your prompt reply my dear one. I will write you a comprehensive mail on issues relating to one or two of my fleet, i have already "giraffed" your e-mail address from your post above, so expect a note from me. As for the thred, I don search tire with the level of computer literacy i have o i no see am, but it is a very simple question: what are the implications of buying a car/suv with a high odometer reading? As for the issue under discussion, i do not think this theory applies to peogeot 307. Mine is a 2006 model bought brand new same year. I have lost count of how many battery changes i have made or removing my battery and using it to start madam's car, i never noticed any change o abi Peogeot has provided for this kind of situation? |
. Ordinarily i would not have joined the debate it is the issue of alternative road provision that makes me dabble into this. But was there any proof that there was protest when the project was being planned? I am just asking may be if they had protested that time probably the government would have stopped it.
