eveseh:Don't say that. You will make me leave and never return. You don't want that, do you? |
A shame to the nation? The entire nation is a shame. Besides, with the way the cities in Nigeria were designed (see: total disregard for blue prints, if there was one) tracting down criminals is near impossible. You say the inspector general should resign. I say the first 100 top people in the Nigerian Government should commit ritual suicide. No excuses! In all honesty, 10 percent of the population should, but that would be expecting too much from the internationally known "happiest" people in the world. |
Revolution, at least both of us can agree that Dahitler is a shameful name. I would have you know that my user name on this site is Afeni, but the admin thinks its all fun and games to go around bastardizing the reputation of posters by carrying out forceful name-changes. Buhari was sponsored as the ANPP (a party I don't like by the way) because he was nationally known. Left alone, Buhari would not have been able to finance his own campaign. |
Funny you should mention subway, I worked there for a little while. Yeah, its slow, but at least you know whats going into your sandwich. What I noticed when I worked there was people always complained about the slow speed (its not that bad) but it came turn for you to make their sandwich, they took their sweet time trying to remember what they wanted. In fact, most of the time making a sandwich is spent waiting as the moronic customer that just spent the past 6 minutes in line is trying to remember what they want. Why didn't think about that instead of tapping their feet is beyond me. Also, you should know that subway is geared towards people in their 20s and over. So, you, as a 16 year old having a problem with the franchise has a lot to do with you not being their "target audience." Go to Mc Donalds if you want speed. |
Sup Nairaland users, I need some advice. I met this really kool girl and I fell in love with her but now she is telling me she can't cook. Don't get me wrong, I am a decent guy, but I don't know what to make of this. All I ask is that my pan cakes, toast with scream cheese, sunny side-up eggs and freshly squeezed (by hand) orange juice be ready for me when I wake up in the morning. My home made pounded yam and egusi made from freshly picked leaves be at my table at noon. And when I come home from a long day of work, my three course dinner meal set in a presentable fashion on the table. Hopefully, all of this can be done without poisoning me. Even though she can't cook, I still love her. Would I be wrong in getting a second wife to make-up for her defects? Note: I know all of you are thinking, "Why the hell is he even with her?", but like I said, I love her. So, for the time being, I am not willing to leave her. But I just don't know what to do. Clearly, something has to change, and I will not tolerate shotty meals. Not now, not ever! |
Your title is very missleading. There is a difference between the happiest "place" and the happiest "people." Nigeria has not been the happiest place on earth, and in all honesty, such a place is subject to so many opinions that it can never exist. Now, Nigeria can and might even have been the home of the happiest people on earth. But like everything else, the measure of something is and always will be based on its relation to another thing. In short, everything in relative. Like they say, ignorance is bliss. I come across more seriously depressed people in New York than I do in Lagos. in fact, I can't remember comming across any depressed person in Lagos. You might find people that are in pain over a loved one, but they are no where near the verge of committing suicide. ![]() |
diddy, I love working. I once did 75 hours a week for 3 months straight. I have also done 60 hours of work in 4 days. For those who don't know, that is 15 hours a day for 4 days straight. I have no idea why other people don't like working. I don't do long hours for the money (the government takes most of the over time in taxes anyway) but I like the feeling of accomplishing something. Besides, when you work hard, you put yourself in a position to critic others if it becomes necessary. |
This is an awesome thread. I remember when I was back in Lagos, a friend of mine (House aid around 40) told me if he landed in America, he would immediately start sweeping the floor. According to him, sweeping the floor should be enough to make him a rich man. When I think about that, I always smile. To think a full grown man would believe that sweeping the floor anywhere in the world would make one wealthy is just ludicrous. And just an heads up for all you Nigerians out there, yeah, Nigeria sucks, but America is no where near the heaven that you might be lead to believe. And no, I am not saying this because I "sweep" floors or anything. ![]() |
PDP for Lagos has just put a 25 million naira reward for any information leading to the arrest of those responsible. This is a very move on the part of the party both to solve the issue and to curtail any fall-out that might occur from it. Afterall, from the pulse I am getting the bulk of the blame is falling on the party itself. |
Seun:You type like a university graduate. And p.s. change my name back. Retro really hates "Dahitler" |
Seun:Is that so? Mr. 2.6 percent unemployment. ![]() |
Revolution:Buhari hates IBB. Have you no grasp on Nigerian History? How dare you say Buhari likes IBB. Since it appears you don't know, the traitorous bastard known as IBB overthrough Buharis administration in 1985. Also note that IBB was one of the top ranking generals in Buharis administration. But clearly, that was not enough for the greedy bastard. In fact, how dare you compare the Great Buhari (no, I am not kidding) to any of the non-first republic bastards that have ruled Nigeria. Trust me, anyone that has seen my posts know I rarely say anything good about Northern leaders and at best, I have contempt for God. But I am in support of Buhari. The man posses a level of honest that frankly speaking does not exist anywhere else in the world. This man, Buhari, is quite possibly the most honest person ever to exist. Of course, as always you are allowing smokes and mirrors from bastards like IBB and the Abachas to blind you. Buhari has something that non of the other people on this poll has, a proven track record of honesty. And I wish all those that voted for IBB a very long life. That way, you can watch and bury EVERYONE you hold dear. You degenerates deserve nothing less. |
Washington DC is complete garbage. Its extremely un-impressive. |
How the hell would I know? And here was I thinking that dead people were incapable of making decisions. |
Nilla, its funny you should say that. It just so happens that I am manly and resolute. I guess I should rule the country, for the good of the people. But I must warn you, if I get elected, the only way they are going to take power from me is from my cold, dead hands. |
nilla:I didn't say that. Women can lead as Governors and legislature. But for the time being, only resolute men for the top executive of the country. |
nilla:What kind of stupid talk is that? Do you want a coup that badly? Please only resolute manly men for President. Someone with the resolve to kick against a coup. |
Talk to your boss about the possibility of the company using direct deposit so your money is automatically sent to the bank. And why are you not being paid with checks? Cash is really risky. Lastly, I think it was kool you at least made an effort to fight off the robbers. Its times like those that you know people that have "fight" in them. ![]() |
To be honest, I like the numb feeling. Its like being in another world. I hope you are okay financially. To lose an entire paycheck (2 weeks of work) is a big deal. |
Maybe I will. |
retro:Retro, you are making it rise again lol. ![]() |
Very to sorry to hear Molluma. I hope you were not hurt. I have been robbed once. I was working at a store and two guys entered the store with guns. They starting threatening to shoot if we didn't give them the money in the safe. I wasn't scared or anything, just really numb. Everything moved in slow motion, but yet, at the same time, it appeared as though time was flying. To make a long story short, I opened the safe (the freakin manager was too scared to do it himself) and they took the money (only about 100 dollars) and left. Another time I was out really late at night (around 2 a.m.) and I decided to stop by a friend's house and as I was about to reach the door, I saw 4 guys come around the corner and one of them had a gun. They stood for about 2 minutes in front of me (I guess trying to figure out what to do since I had seen them) and then they walked away. I wasn't scared there either. Luckily I was not robbed. Not like it mattered because I only had like 20 bucks on me. Its a good thing I am not scared of death. ![]() |
The reality of Democratic Nigeria does not pose well for Igbo presidency or Hausa Presidency. The only one out of the 3 that is going to really benefit from this are the Yorubas. The ethnic group with a sizeable christian and muslim population and with no interest in appearing pro-North or pro-East. Meanwhile the Igbos and Hausas continue their never ending feud and come election time, out of the 3 majority ethnic groups, Yorubas will come out the victor because in regards to national ethnic bias, Yorubas stand for nothing. Not out to dominate the East or West. Not out to annex the Niger-Delta or wipe either Islam or Christianity from the face of the earth. A clear indicator of this is that the Yorubas have all but been forgiven for their roles in the civil war. Now, the Igbo politicians parade around agitating for Southern Presidency. Heck, in all honesty, if any of the credible parties wanted to carry this election they will find an Edo man that has a Yoruba sounding name (not hard to do) and field him as their candidate. That way, neither the East or the North wins, but they at least get to save face. |
Really? How about you do what you are told! Kiss me forever, my love. NOTE: I would obey if I were you. |
I would like to know how much he is suspected of looting. Not to make a small thing out of this, when I convert the naira figures in the original post to dollars, it doesn't come out to be a lot. No where near as high as I assume theses governors steal. So, is it that Fayose is one of the least corrupt governors, or is he just really bad at embezzling? However, he should still be punished for this theft. But more importantly, I wonder if the PDP in Ekiti would field him as their 2007 candidate for the State's governorship. That should tell us how much honor the party has. |
You should. ![]() |
retro:Yes, so true. I can't believe I forgot that. Fine, you are now, and always will be the only one. |
retro:I will make you talk me. Besides, why must you be the only one? |

And p.s. change my name back. Retro really hates "Dahitler"
