You never know, I might even be able to resurrect the old Gods and kill-off Christianity in parts of Nigeria. ![]() |
I love you, Moladun. You create some of the most well-written and informational posts on these forums. |
Thats a good point. Most of the traditional religions in Nigeria are all but gone. Next time I go home, I am going to visit the smaller towns to document past Yoruba and history and culture before the elders die out. ![]() |
Seun, you can't renounce your Yoruba-ness. Being Yoruba is not something you can change. Just learn to accept and support your local pro-Yoruba groups. ![]() |
I think you should look into taller men. I am 6 feet and 1 inches and I will not consider any girl taller than 5 feet 9 inches. So, I am sure taller men (around 6feet and 4 inches) would be ok with a 6 feet tall woman. |
Yes, Drusilla, that is true. The Yorubas were under a loose confederation that was under the control of Oyo. All the mini Yoruba kingdoms payed tribute (tax) to the Oyo. However, Muslim invaders from the Northern region of Present day Nigeria convinced the Northern Yorubas that they didn't need to pay taxes to the Oyo empire and that was the start of the civil war. It was at around this time that the Europeans came in contact with the Edo (A group closely related to Yorubas in south central Nigeria) and began trading them guns for slaves that the Edo got from waging wars with other neighboring peoples. Once the Edo got the guns, they took control of Eko (Presently Lagos State in Nigeria) where they began selling Yorubas, which were involved in a full scale civil war with other Yoruba kingdoms, to the Europeans. Hence, most African American and other people of African dissent are actually Yoruba or have at least a little bit of Yoruba blood in them. During the Yoruba civil war, the people of Dahomey (located in Benin republic) also sold some Yorubas from the weaker Yoruba Kingdoms to the Europeans. But towards the end of the slave trade, they got too close to the Oyo Kingdom (Strongest Yoruba Kingdom) and they were forced to turn into a tributary State (Pay tax to Oyo). |
If he beats you, chances are you asked for it. ![]() Just kidding. Walk if you can. If you are forced to stay with him for whatever reason, talk to him about it (hopefully this doesn't get you another beating ). |
I love J-girl. Ready for some girl on girl action? ![]() |
I am in love with Hotstepper too! ![]() |
Walker_M, I still advocate the break up of Nigeria, this is just an idea I am floating so other Nigerians would see what it takes to truly make "One Nigeria". Judging by their responses, they are not too happy with the reality. ![]() |
Rhea, the point of that is to create an atmosphere where Igbos are no longer demonized for trying to leave Nigeria. |
While the Obj faction tried to extend his tenure, I will support that faction than have criminals like IBB (which is part of the second faction) be let into power. Obj's faction wanted a third term, but when the IBB/Atiku faction fought against it, he decided that the next Presidential candidate would come from one of the existing PDP Governors. This was a move to punish Atiku who has showed strong signs of disloyalty to the President for over 6 years now. Also note, this is the same Atiku that is under investigation by the American Government when $90,000 was found in the freezer of an American congress man. This is also the same Atiku that is under investigation by the American Government for the purchase of several mansions in America. As for IBB, I don't think I need to go into detail about the $12 billion that went missing during his time in office. In short, IBB is a thief and he should be content that he is not in jail awaiting execution by firing squad. So, those that are wise should throw their support behind the Obj camp of PDP. Regardless of if you like OBJ or not, it is better to allow him to position a proven State Governor to take over, than to have Atiku, or even worse, IBB in power. |
emmeno, you want IBB to be President? So he can after his 8 years (assuming he wins 2 terms) he can annul the next election? If Ibb becomes President, the country will be ungovernable. You should also learn a thing or two about politics. It is IMPOSSIBLE for IBB to be the next President. You should read up on current events instead of joining the illiterate praise singers in supporting that monster. If I could give the Presidency to anyone, I will choose Ojukwu. At least he is honest about the reality on the ground. And yes, I know he cannot win. I also think Jerry Rawlings of Ghana (Ex- Ghanaian leader) would do a good job. I am sure he won't waste any time sending the corrupt degenerates Politicians to the grave. |
At first Obasonja supported the idea of holding a Sovereign National Conference, but once he got into power he said, "There is no need for one because that is what the National Assembly is there for." That is the problem with Nigeria, the leaders are a lot more concerned with keeping Nigeria one, than they are with carrying out the will of the people. |
There obviously is no desire on the part of the ruling class to support dialogue. We know this because they refuse to hold a sovereign national conference. And no, I am satisfied with my comments. So, you just have to learn to cope with my views of you and the fellow one Nigeria southerners. |
Ashiwaju, you know fully well OPC and other pan-ethnic group militias are very popular in the country. Those same people that are members and that support those groups will support and be willing to die for creation of a new western Nigerian States. That is, once they get exposed to my ideology. Just because cowards like yourself are contempt with living in rampant poverty does not mean others are. |
The North might need a united Nigeria to move forward. But the South would move forward at a lot faster pace without excess baggage. |
Jalal, charged with disunity in a place that never had such? There was never unity to begin with. Where are the charges of disunity against those that took part in the killings of thousands of southerners in the North? Where are the charges of promoting disunity for the Jakum and Hauas that killed over 5 thousand Idioma in Taraba and neighboring States? People are not blind, Mr Born To Rule. People just didn't wake up and say "I hate the North". This realization was a long time comming. To think, that these same degenerates that wrecked the economy and killed countless people are now agitating for power shift. I have a better idea, why not retain permanent power shift by leaving and setting up your Arewa republic. You won't be missed. ![]() Leave it to a Northerner that is unsure of his ability to stand on his own to claim for unity. Unity, if you mean the southerners work, while you rule. ![]() You are lucky you have your puppet as President. Any real Southerner would have the North up in flame the instant he is given the Presidency. |
Leave it to a Northerner to promote Nigerian Nationalism. ![]() Nigeria is poor, and Nigeria will continue to be poor till we create nations that have common ground out of this pathetic land mass they call Nigeria. That means, the North should take their Sharia and all that good stuff and get out! The east should take the love for Biafra and get out! The west should take their desire to be free from one Nigeria and get out! |
