While many Nigerians have made their resolutions for the new year and promised to stick by them, two young ladies have ushered themselves into the new year with a hot fight. A serious clash broke out between two ladies in public after a misunderstanding between them on New Year's day, January 1st.

Facebook user Omotola Abiodun who hails from Osun but lives in Ibadan, Oyo state capital, took to the social media platform to share a video of the fighting ladies which has now gone viral.

It is alleged that the ladies were fighting over one of their boyfriends - a report which was disputed by some online users. 

One of the ladies (on red top) was said to have been plaiting her hair and was not finished, before the fight broke out with her colleague. 

The heated fight was later separated by onlookers after some minutes.

A suspected arms smuggler who was recently apprehended by security operatives - is reportedly cooling off in police custody.

According to reports, the suspect, believed to be a Fulani man was nabbed with arms by vigilante members at Pategi ferry Port in Niger State.

He was immediately tied up by the security men and handed over to the Emir's security escort.

Few weeks ago, troops of 1 Division Nigerian Army, Kaduna, arrested three notorious gun runners in Rijau area of Niger State and recovered 44 rifles.

A man spent his New Year in police cell after he was apprehended for stealing in Delta. It was gathered that the suspect connived with two staff working at a fast food restaurant in Sapele area of the state - to steal chicken, turkey and chicken wings.

According to reports, the suspect stole almost two cartons of chicken, 12 turkeys and about 10 chicken wings before he was nabbed. 

It was scooped that the suspect who reportedly works in the baking section of the fast food joint, stole the items in the morning on Monday, December 31, and allegedly hid the loots in Palm kernel. 

He was arrested when he came back to the fast food joint to collect the stolen items later in the evening after the director told him to show him what he was carrying. 

The suspect was immediately arrested and taken into custody by the police.

Here are pictures of the arrested suspected kidnappers and armed bandits who were allegedly responsible for the abduction of twin sisters in October in Zamfara state.

The young ladies identified as Hassana and Hussaina were released unhurt by the kidnappers after allegedly paying N15million ransom, according to reports..

According to media reports, the ransom was raised through crowd funding, family contributions and borrowing. The largest contribution came from a senator, Kabir Marafa.

The abductors of the twin sisters threatened to kill one of the girls if payment of their ransom was not made on time.

The twins, were kidnapped two months ago in Dauran town, while distributing the invitation cards of their wedding.

A man said to be an "outcast" popularly known as 'Osu' in Igbo land, was recently appointed a king in Imo, sparking mixed feelings from internet users.

The people of Obinwanne, Umuaka, in Njaba LGA of Imo State, dealt a big blow to the OSU Caste System in Igbo land, with the coronation of HRM, Eze, Bar. Justine Uzoma Ezeala, Ezenwanne 1, of Obinwanne, Umuaka.

According to reports, Barr . Justin Uzoma Ezeala was traditionally born an Osu, but his people saw him befitting and credible to rule over them hence, they choose him to be their king.

But the report has been trailed by different reactions, with some hailing it as a good development while others have argued that an outcast is still an outcast no matter his status and will be prevented from marrying into a "normal family".

A man has landed in the hospital after he was left seriously injured by fireworks/'knockout', according to a report. 

According to Uwechue Chineye Abigail who hails from Ogwashi Uku, Delta state, it was gathered that the married man with children, had the fingers on his left hand blown off while throwing 'knockout' during this festive period.

The injured man was rushed to the hospital where he hand was attended to and sewn by doctors. 

Following the incident, Nigerians have been warned to be careful in dealing with fireworks during the Yuletide season.

A woman who was kidnapped by suspected ritualists in Akure, Ondo state, has narrated her horrifying experience. The victim identified as Oyebade Funke was reportedly abducted last Thursday, 27th December, 2018. According to her, she escaped from their den by a divine intervention.

Speaking with Omo Edema, Funke explained that she went to collect a new ATM Card at the First City Monument Bank (FCMB) in Oshinle area of Akure, when she fell into the hand of a commercial motorcyclist who called her by her name and claimed to have once lived in her father's house a long time ago when she was still a little girl. This made her greet him cheerfully before entering his motorcycle. 

She said, “We left the place, heading towards my destination; a guy just shouted ‘brother’ and began to greet the bike man long time as if it had been long they saw last. The bike man apologized to me as he stopped to greet the guy. He eventually asked where the guy was going to and he mentioned market square area which fell on the same road with where I was going.

“The bike man pleaded with me to allow the guy sit behind my back on the motorcycle since he was not going far. I accepted them without suspecting any evil”, explained the victim.

She said the bike man asked her of address and she mentioned the area and also asked where she was going from the bank. She said as the guy sat at her back and they were moving, she lost her senses immediately.

According to her, she discovered she became weak and the bike man headed for a different direction entirely.

Funke said when it was around 3pm, they came in and began to attend to the captives one after the other. She said they brought in calabashes; one with a cover taped with a red piece of cloth while other calabashes were empty.

“I had concluded that was my end. But when the ritual got to my turn, they placed the calabash on my head and placed an empty one in front of me. I did not vomit blood. They questioned me again that who was behind me, but I could not respond to them.  “I heard them say my head refused to harbour evil.

Another person among them said yes if she refused to vomit that would still not stop the parts of her body from being used for some other things. But one among them said they had no buyers of parts of the body for now.”


According to her, “they blindfolded me again and returned me exactly the way and manner they brought me.”

A young lady was brutally killed by an angry mob for allegedly aiding armed robbers and stealing a motorcycle in Obudu Local Government Area of Cross River State.

The deceased who has been identified as Miss Vivian, a graduate of Federal College of Education, FCE, Obudu, was also accused of killing an Okada (motorcycle) rider in the area early this month.

Vivian, popularly known as China in Obudu was set on fire on Saturday (yesterday) after reportedly being told by the mob to provide her boyfriend. After she failed to do so, she was lynched as passerby looked on.

It is also alleged that the deceased was involved in the murder of one Mr. Peter Akikieye, a commercial motorcyclist from Obudu, who was murdered in an attempt to forcibly collect his bike on the 23rd of December 2018, along Bishiri Road Obudu.”

A Facebook user who goes by the name, Tomclassic Amunde Jnr who also witnessed the act said the Police were on ground but couldn’t save Vivian.

The Nigerian man who went viral sometime ago after pictures of him laying with huge wads of cash were shared online, is in the news again. 

The young man who calls himself 'Owoboy' (money boy), recently shared pictures of himself relaxing on his bed with two ladies while showing off his new iPhone and Apple MacBook. 

He shared the trending pictures on Facebook just days after he was hospitalized for an undisclosed illness. 

According to him, he took an antibiotic drug without eating which made him to faint due to weakness. He was rushed to the hospital where he was treated.

He also revealed that when he thought he was going to die at the hospital, he prayed and asked God for forgiveness..

Some pastors who escaped tragedy following a road mishap while travelling to Imo state, are thankful to God for the miraculous survival.

According to Evangelist Sunday Okafor, he was travelling to a program in his Ford explorer SUV along with two other pastors on Friday, December 28th, before fire broke out from his seat.

The occupants escaped from the vehicle before trying to quench the fire all to no avail. 

The SUV was burnt beyond recognition as can be seen in the pictures. 

After the incident, Evangelist Sunday Okafor said; 

Please join me thank God for this deliverance from premature death. I was driving to a program today 28th.Dec.to Imo state with my ford Explorer jeep suddenly fire broke out my seat while driving with two of my pastors. 

Thank God no life was lost. Divinity is on our side!

Muhammadu Buhari arrived in Uyo, capital of Akwa Ibom earlier today for a rally marking the kick-off of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign themed Next Level.

On the President’s entourage are chieftains of the party led by the national chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole; National Leader Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Vice President Yemi Osibanjo and a host of others including some states governors..

Adams Oshiomhole and governor Rochas Okorocha who have been at loggerheads with other over the outcome of the APC governorship primaries in Imo state, appeared to avoid each other and gave themselves distance at the rally holding in Godswill Akpabio International Stadium. 

Okorocha had earlier said his ‘issue’ with Oshiomhole was that he allegedly “stole the mandate” of the people of the state and “gave it away for reasons best known to him.”

The governor stated that the name APC presented as its governorship candidate was not the choice of people of the state. According to Okorocha, Oshiomhole gave the party’s tickets in the state to people who are not members of APC.

A woman has got herself trending on Facebook and other social media platforms after her intimate pictures were leaked online. 

According to some online users, the married woman was discovered to be having an extra-marital after some pictures showing her pleasuring herself - were sent to her lover. 

It was gathered that the affair between the woman and her lover had been going on for some time without her husband's knowledge till the pictures emerged and he got wind of it.

According to unconfirmed reports, the heartbroken husband might divorce the woman over the affair.

According to reports, the flag-off of Comrade Abba Moro, the Senatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP in Benue South Senatorial district, has been cancelled indefinitely.

It was cancelled because of the accident involving multiple vehicles that claimed many lives on the way to the flag off venue.

PDP stakeholders and party faithful were heading to Obagaji, the headquarters of Agatu local government area for the flag-off campaign for Benue South candidates of the party in the 2019 general elections.

The party has consequently cancelled the proposed mega rally, which was also billed for the defection ceremony of over 2000 members of the opposition parties.

According to eye-witness account, an on-coming motorcycle rammned into the PDP convoy around Ojinebe village in Adoka, Otukpo local government area, causing another on-coming Toyota Sienna to loose control with head-on collision with an 18-seater bus and a Volkswagen.

"The Sienna, in an attempt to dodge the bike lose control and faced the 18-seater bus, thereby causing accident for the golf coming behind", the source said.

Amongst the corpses deposited at the mortuary, 7 of them are members of PDP from Oju local government area, while 5 were occupants of the Sienna bus from Iga Okpaya, who were said to be heading for a burial.

A woman whose husband was killed during a robbery attack in his house in Rivers state - met with the gang members who perpetrated the act.

The widow and mother of three children identified as Mrs. Funke Adetutu, met with the hoodlums after they were arrested by operatives of the Inspector General of Police Special Intelligence Response Team, IRT.

The leader of the gang knelt down and begged for forgiveness from the widow who replied that mercy belongs to God and they should ask Him for forgiveness and mercy.

She added that her husband takes care of a lot of people apart from the children and they now have to struggle following his demise. 

She also thanked the police team for arresting the killers of her husband.
