A suspected member of Boko Haram terrorits group - was recently nabbed while trying to plant bomb in an area in Borno state. According to reports, the suspect was nabbed by eagle-eyed residents who were suspicious of his movements. He has since been handed over to the security operatives after his capture.

A 26-year-old lady identified as Onyinyechi Joy Elekwachi, has left her family and friends in a sorrowful mood following her death. The young lady reportedly died some months after her wedding ceremony as she's set to be laid to rest on Wednesday, 7th December 2017 in Anambra state.

Her friends and colleagues have taken to their Facebook accounts to mourn the loss. May her soul rest in peace.

A young entrepreneur has got himself trending online after narrating how he suffered to make ends meet after reportedly paying N4.8 million for his Master's degree at Pan Atlantic University a.k.a Lagos Business school. Read the story which the young man shared on his Instagram page;

I paid 4.8million Naira for a master's degree by myself ,loan interest inclusive ,no free Saturdays since 2015 ,had to go to Epe after Ajah every weekend .That is not the whole story ,this is the real story .

2013 after my Nysc,I had an option of staying back home with my parents ,or go out to look for that dream job .After almost 5 years in school with the crazy educational schooling system in Nigeria ,you are so full of life hoping to land that dream job .I eventually got a place I could manage pending when something better comes along .We didn't talk about salary or money ,I just assumed my boss would at least give me something monthly ,well i worked for 6months without a dime,I have an option ,go back home or stay here.

My office was around first avenue ,I would always trek from the office to my amazing Church around mile 2(DCC)because no money, this was and still is the only thing that kept me sane all through ,message and ministration were always timely and on point .More like they were directed at me ,I knew there is going to be light at the end of the tunnel .

I was more like a dispatch man ,distributing papers for my company with no pay ,I would go to the island (VI,Lekki ,Marina,Ikoyi) to drop our papers with some big organisation to advertise with us .It was so bad most times I see my old course mates and dodge them ,I was always looking horrible.No money ,to change cloth even ,I had an option of going back home ,at least I would be comfortable ,eat and watch movies ,but I wanted more out of life ,that's not the life for me .

You see God never leaves or forsake his people ,we might think we are going through hell now and wonder why can't he just bless us,well with God there is always a reason for everything ,on this particular day ,I was asked to go and drop our papers in the Corporate Communications department in GTB on the island.

My life changed at this moment ,I saw people living the exact life I wanted ,young ,sharp looking chaps .I wondered if they have two heads ,see me,graduate hawking newspaper ,see my mates chilling in AC,looking fresh and staring at me like one pauper.

A young man is filling thankful to God after surviving a ghastly motor accident with his friend while returning from a burial in the eastern part of the country. According to reports, the car somersaulted multiple times in the crash as both of them came out of the car alive and unscathed.

Gombe State Commissioner for Youth and Empowerment and FC Yarmalight President Malam Farouk Yarma was present the 2018 FIFA World Cup draw in Moscow on Friday. The commissioner took series of pictures with World football legends, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Cafu and Puyol, alongside FIFA President and FIFA GS.

Farouk said after the draw ; "Tricky group but football will be exciting in the group. We have got a great squad with abundant talents. With good preparation we'll proceed from the group and have a good tournament.

Tragedy struck the quiet town of Ogidi in Anambra state on Wednesday, 29th November, 2017 after a teacher died after flogging a student in her class. According to reporter Eze Amadi, the mother of one 14-year-old Okafor Chinaza, a student of starlight secondary school, Ogidi - fought and killed her daughter's teacher for flogging her.

According to information gathered: It was said that the student in question was flogged by her Igbo teacher and class mistress earlier in the morning for not sweeping the class according to class roster. When the teacher walked in to teach them, she found out that the class was dirty as she questioned the student why she didn't carry out her duty. The student allegedly responded in an insulting manner to the teacher according to fellow student's present in the class room.

In response, the teacher asked her to kneel down before the class but the student reportedly refused as the teacher annoyingly flogged her and she fled the class from the school fence, and ran home.

As at 3:23pm same day, she came back with a lady believed to be her mother and a young man who claimed to be the uncle. According to starlight secondary school security, she refused to introduce herself properly as she forced her way into the school and went to the classroom of the girl to find out that the said teacher had gone for private school teachers meeting same day. She was directed to the Proprietress' office when they found out she had come for her daughter's issue with a teacher of the school named Odilinye Rita.

According to the Proprietress, she said that she was with one of her employee named Okamelu Tochukwu (Physics Teacher) when the woman came to her office to vent her anger.

I was in my office with one of my teachers when she came in, after her report and confirmation from the students that the teacher flogged the said Okafor Chinaza, I pleaded with the mother and uncle to allow the school dive into the issue with diplomacy as revenge won't yield needed result. She had accepted to forget and forgive as I promised her that we will handle the case with ease.

The teacher was believed to be coming back from the private teachers meeting she went to, when she met the student's people. Upon getting close to them, the student who came with her mother and other relatives, pointed at the teacher to the mother as she rushed to hit her (the teacher) with the stick she had come with. After a while, the teacher collapsed and was rushed to Iyi-Enu Hospital Ogidi where the doctor confirmed her dead moments later.

Currently, the parents and the student are being detained by the police in Ogidi police station.

It was a moment of jubilation after some inmates awaiting trial were freed at the Enugu high court complex as five of them who had spent five years in prison were discharged and acquitted of a crime they said they did not commit.

According to Chijioke Okibe, one of the freed men told him that their journey started since 2013 when they were detained by Enugu SARS at their cell for allegedly killing a young asthmatic boy but that it happened that one of the inmates was tortured by SARS men which led to his death

Five of them were as a result in ASA rated for five years but were discharged for want of diligent prosecution by Hon. justice CI Nwobodo yesterday 29/11/17...

A Facebook user, Tesem Akende, has recounted his bitter-sweet experience after entering a train from Kaduna to Abuja. According to him, there's a massive corruption going on in the sector as he called on anti-graft agency EFCC to look into the matter. Read what he shared below;

I arrived Idu train terminal at 6:25am, on Monday November 27, 2017 and headed straight for the ticketing booth. It had been a really good weekend. Visiting Abuja once in awhile from Kaduna is always a chill pill for me - this wasn’t different at all!

My friend would tell me; “Tesem, you work hard, you should ball hard too.” Trust me, I have been very obedient since then. O, how we nailed at Cold stone creamery and Domino’s pizza in Wuse II on Sunday night, thanks to my friend, Olalekan Michael Onilede.

At Idu, I was impressed with the infrastructure, my first visit/experience apparently. I took a few photos, and at 7am on the dot, the journey back to Kaduna began. We had a brief stop over at the Kubwa station to have more passengers on board, and what started very well soon turned sour.

Passengers with tickets in hand began boarding, and before long everywhere was filled. Each coach I gathered has a carrying capacity of 88 passengers, but on this day carried far beyond that number.

Where are we supposed to seat? The passengers with tickets in hand asked. ‘Abeg, make una just manage,’ an official replied. “Manage! What does that suppose to mean?” An aged woman obviously in her 60s asked. “Why did you sell the tickets in the first place? Was there no communication between Idu and Kubwa on ticket sales? Why should we stand, while others seat when we’ve paid the same fare?” Several questions were advanced, and the only answer was – “abeg, make una just manage.” “But this wasn’t what we bargained for,” she insisted. “Gentlemen, honestly I shouldn’t be standing at my age for two hours plus on this journey, can’t you understand”?

Out of empathy I gave the aged woman my seat, and offered to stand – after all, I’m still far from the 60 mark.

“Ma’am, please how much did you pay”, I asked? Behold, it was the same amount, N1050 only.

But looking closely, a seat number was indicated on my ticket and other Idu commuters, but not so on some of theirs (Kubwa squad). My thought; perhaps some of those tickets were illegal after all. Some chap could just be playing smart, and not remitting the proceeds to government, I thought again. About thirty minutes into the journey, the standers devised ways to make themselves comfortable. Some squatted while others leaned to funny spots raging.

But their rage had an outburst when we arrived the Jere station, and the officials began another ticket verification exercise. “Your tickets please…your tickets please…your tickets please”…they hummed. “See, can’t you guys just hide your faces in shame”, a raging commuter vibrated.

And in a fireworks approach, one of the officials responded – “Abeg, na our work we de do o, make una no vex.” That phase passed, and we managed to arrive the Rigasa train terminal in Kaduna.

My very good friend, Patrick Oga had been standing by to fetch me, and off we cruised away. But my mind wouldn’t stop pondering.

A while ago, my friend TirNom Dogo had shared a similar tale with me. She called hers, ‘original suffer head’. We further outlined the pluses the rail system has brought.

It’s indeed a laudable project that has received several accolades. Thanks to the PDP government for initiating and largely executing, and yes, the APC’s for getting it running. But all said, I implore related authorities to keep an eye on operations at the rail track. Traffic at the train stations has tremendously increased, following the unrelenting kidnap cases along the Kaduna-Abuja highway.

I believe considering another rail track now is a stitch in time that would save far beyond the proverbial nine. The anti graft agencies must also up their game and fish out the bad eggs rubbishing the good work by government.

EFCC, this is also corruption – it shouldn’t be in our country!

Newsmen, lets also take investigative journalism a notch higher, and visit the train stations.

A 14-year-old girl simply identified as Julienne with a serious bow legs is now feeling hopeful after undergoing an operation in order to straighten them. The teenage girl reportedly revealed after the corrective surgery that she can’t wait until her casts are off to have dance parties with her friends and, one day soon, be able to return to school. ⠀

Photo News: Countdown to the end of the 21 day -grace granted by Ondo State Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, for armed youths to surrender their arms. On Monday (yesterday), at Ajapa Community in Ese-Odo Local Government Area, armed youths submitted their arms and weapons as they expressed their readiness to embrace peace .

The arms submitted include : Browning wz machine gun, Daewoo K3, Colt Automatic Rifles, General Purpose Machine gun, Breda 30, Fiat Revelli Modelling, AK 47 Rifles, Rocket Launcher, Heckler & Koch MG4, Pump Action and some Automatic Cartridges.

An active Facebook user, Chioma Udogu Mbamalu, was surprised by a kind-hearted Nigerian after making a joke online that she had not flew in an airplane before. This is how her story started.

Last week, Chioma went to her favorite Facebook page to read news and while at that, she saw pictures of internet sensation and comedian Emmanuella inside an airplane.

Chioma expressed her opinion in a joking manner that as little as Emmanuella is, she is a regular flyer that uses flight to move around the country and most importantly, she is older than Emmanuella and that she has not flew before except the planes she sees in the sky.

A young man, Chukwuemeka Okorie saw Chioma’s comment and then offered her a free return ticket for her to experience how it feels to fly at no cost to her. This happened in October.

Yesterday, Chioma flew back to Lagos after spending the weekend in the eastern part of the country after Air Peace ticket was purchased for her for free by Emeka.

This may be a big deal for Chioma, after being touched by this act of kindness from a stranger that she does not know.

It was a show of shame in Onitsha area of Anambra state, after a policeman parked by the roadside to attack and molest a young man for insulting his "unique" car. In a video footage sent exclusively to National Helm, the policeman can be seen chasing the young man after stopping him from a motorcycle.

The young man revealed how he was coming back from Fegge area after buying goat head popularly known as Isi Ewu in Igbo language - when he spotted the policeman driving his car. The young man who was on a motorcycle/Okada - said 'Imagine what this man is driving', not knowing that the policeman heard him.

Immediately, the policeman stopped his car and confronted the young man - asking him why he insulted his car.

The policeman hit the young man with the gun multiple times and even cocked the gun as he threatened to shoot him before the young man took to his heels and fled for his life.

A photo of a Catholic priest celebrating the Kingship of Christ in consonance with the Igbo cultural heritage - has sparked heated debated online after the picture emerged. In the picture, the Priest has the monstrance lifted up above for veneration, and by the sides of the van are two men who have a pot of calabash filled with burning charcoal and frankincense which signifies the passage of Kings. The white chalk or “nzu” were also drawn on the chests of the traditional men.
