Two dreaded cultists, Black face and sparrow that were mauled down by the police during a gun duel in a forest in Assa community in the Ohaji /Egbema Local Government Area of Imo state. The Imo state Police command says that the slain persons belonged to the Iceland confraternity and were allegedly responsibility for several criminal activities in the Assa and Obile communities.

One locally-made short gun with five live cartridges and one single-barrelled gun were recovered from the slain cult members.

The deceased, according to the police ,had sometime in April murdered two police men, an inspector and a corporal of the Ohaji police Division .

The police say that the height of their atrocities was the beheading of an indigene of Assa community in September.

Man Nearly Goes Mad After Wife Gives Birth To Conjoined Babies In Lagos. Photos

A man , Mr Obinna Ugwuoke from Ebonyi state, temporarily went insane after discovering that his wife gave birth to conjoined babies fused at the stomach at First Covenant Hospital in Satellite Town, Lagos on the 8th of May 2017. The happily married couple with two children - were shocked on seeing their new babies after the delivery. According to reports, the twin babies (two boys) have been named James and John.

The new parents are still in the hospital waiting to carry out a separation surgery on the babies.

A woman who was accused of witchcraft was severely dealt with by her people in the northern part of the country. According to multiple online reports, the woman confessed to have eaten her family members as she was tied up to a pole upside down and quizzed by those who surrounded her .

Facebook user, Alh Fari Muhd, who shared the trending video which is in Hausa - is calling on the appropriate authorities to investigate the matter and look into how the woman was tortured.

Prof. Paul Otasowie of the Engineering Dept University of Benin was killed by unknown gun men last night, in what eyewitnesses said was a failed Kidnapping attempt. The past UBIT/SIWES director University of Benin, was shot and killed by unknown gunmen as he made to enter his house in the Ekehuan Road area of the Benin City, Edo state.

The professor's demise has thrown the the University Community into mourning.

Imo state governor Owelle Rochas Okorocha has kick-started the construction of brand new prison yard and Police Headquarters in Avu, Owerri west Local Government Area, geared towards making Imo a modern state, according to reports by his media aides.

The governor recently announced state government's plans to relocate the two Federal Government Establishments from their present locations in line with the ongoing Urban Renewal Programs.

This is really cruel. A video footage which is trending online shows how a girl was savagely beaten by a big-sized woman (who is said to be her mother) with a cutlass after a disagreement. In the footage, the woman who wore only her panties - can be seen vigorously flogging the girl as she cried and screamed for help in the compound.

Even a dog that came to "separate" the fight was flogged and chased away by the woman with cutlass.

Others in the compound watched without anything with some recording the brutal punishment.

A man was stabbed following an argument over stolen shoes. According to reports, the man was consuming alcohol throughout the night at a bar when an argument broke between himself and another man regarding the theft of his shoes.

The man then left the premises and returned a short while later armed with a knife. Without warning he stabbed the victim in the arm. Onlookers wrestled the knife away from the suspect before they began assaulting him, according to reports.

The victim had left the scene to seek medical attention while the suspect was handed over to authorities for further investigation.

Nigeria's First Lady; Aisha Buhari welcomed her husband president Muahammdu Buhari on his arrival to Aso Rock after visiting troops in Borno state earlier today. The president visited the troops at the front line to mark the independence day anniversary and to lift their spirits high while fighting the Boko Haram sect.

Sharing a picture of her and the president, Mrs Aisha wrote;

I welcome my husband back from Borno, where he visited troops of the Nigerian Armed Forces at the headquarters of operation Lafiya Dole.

We appreciate the efforts of our gallant men who have dedicated their lives fighting and sleeping in the most unimaginable conditions to ensure that normalcy returns to the North East . We continue to pray for them and we assure them that we will always remember them in our prayers.
