Obasanjo Least Worthy Of Ex-leaders To Champion Nigeria Political Recovery, Says Soyinka.

Nobel Laureate Prof. Wole Soyinka said that former President Olusegun Obasanjo is the least worthy of former Heads of State to champion the political recovery process of the nation”.

Soyinka said, Obasanjo has “crossed the red line”. Soyinka stated this in Abuja at a Gala Dinner and Award Night hosted by the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture as part of programmes of the 67 th World Congress of the International Press Institute (IPI).

Soyinka, a Guest of Honour at the dinner described Obasanjo as a “hypocrite!” He said he would soon launch a book “On July 4 at Freedom Park in Lagos, the pamphlet will be unveiled and will confront Obasanjo with his crimes of the past which incidentally are not being newly articulated. Where he articulated his claims and also made a call on the need for the younger generation to take over the reins of the country.

“I have brought out a publication which title is in Latin but it means “Who watches the Watchmen”. “That publication is coming out simply because I will like to see new blood in government in this nation.

His thought most times are based on assumptions, which are not facts. this become a big problem if caution and common sense if left out.

Jealousy attitudes is a killer to relationships. And most marriage end because of jealous conflicts, and people kill other people because they are jealous. Imagine this. You are at a party and someone is friendly and you smile. Your partner thinks that you are betraying her. Or your partner tells you a funny story about a former lover, and you feel threatened. How can you Handle A Jealous partner?

1. Recognise it as a problem – both of you. Problems in relationship can not be solved until you know how and what causes it. Then improve on your flaws to become a positive and better partner.

2. Make a commitment to him/her.

What does is encouraging your partner doing well in trying to deal with it, and that you recognise how difficult it is’. Never, ever say that the jealousy is acceptable. Support your partner, but never collude with him/her.

6. Get help

Jealousy is one of the most frequent problems brought to relationships counsellors. If you don’t know where to start, a trained counsellor can help you isolate the causes of the jealousy and devise a strategy to work through it.

Can jealousy be unlearned?

It is possible to overcome jealous feelings but it takes a lot of time and effort. If your marriage is at stake, it is worth entering into counseling to help untangle the roots of jealousy.

Typical areas that your therapist will have you work on include:

• Recognizing that the jealousy is damaging your marriage.
• Admitting that the jealous behavior is not based on anything factual actually occurring in the marriage.
• Relinquishing the need to control your spouse.
• Stopping all spying and surveillance behavior.
• Rebuilding your sense of self-worth, through self-care and therapeutic exercises designed to teach you that you are safe, loved and worthy.

So whether it is you who is experiencing an abnormal level of jealousy in the marriage, or it is your spouse, it is recommended that you seek help if you want to save the marriage or relationship. Even if you sense that the marriage is beyond saving, getting therapy would be a good idea so that roots of this negative behavior can be examined and treated, and any future relationships you may have can be healthy ones.


In conclusion, there are few emotions harder to control than jealousy. Anger can be controlled, sadness will wash away, and happiness can be ended swiftly with a single misstep. Jealousy, though, is trickier. It can creep into every aspect of your life if you’re not careful, and can lead to you making terrible mistakes. The suspicion that you’re being cheated on is a horrible feeling, but it pales in comparison to the harassment, violence and even murder that can result from uncontrolled jealousy. Lol. What exactly did this OP smoke? Who told you that the lowest commission you'd ever earn in real estate is 500,000? It's obvious you have very limited information on that field and this makes your write-up on the other two, questionable. First things first, real estate isn't the quickest way to earn money as properties no matter how juicy they are, don't move very quickly. It's a good source of investment but it isn't the easiest way to earn. You might not even sell a property in your first 6 months as a marketer.
If you sell a land for 1m, you are entitled to 5% commission. Properties below 1m earn you 10% commission. If the value of the property is 900k, you get 90,000. Most times, this money is shared between several agents who network themselves and pass on info from one hand to the other. You'd have to sell a very high value property before you can earn up to 500k on a property. If you sell a land or house of 10-15m, what would be paid out as commission from the seller is 500k - 750k and most times, there are several people sharing this money with you. It's only when you are the only one in between seller and buyer, that you earn so much and this is hardly ever so. Bottom line is that, the cheaper the price of the property, the lower the commission. Don't go into real estate expecting to earn a minimum of 500k per property sold or else, you'd have problems with your fellow agents.

The United States President Donald Trump has described President Buhari’s inability to tackle the continued killing of Christians in Nigeria as a riot act to the Nigerian government, and is unacceptable.

He said this, yesterday, when he received President Muhammadu Buhari at the White House for talks aimed at boosting the strategic partnership between both countries.

This came as the Christian Association of Nigerian (CAN) called for the immediate resignation of Buhari over his alleged inability to tackle killer herdsmen and other security challenges . The association also urged the international community to save Nigeria from a religious crisis, describing the recent attack on a church in Benue State as a jihad.

Expressing concern over the killing of Christians by Boko Haram, Trump said America would do everything to halt terrorist activities in Nigeria. “We have met before , developing great relationship. We look forward to our discussions today. They are very important, but again, especially as it relates to terrorism. That is terrorism here and terrorism all over the world. It’s a hot bed and we are going to be stopping them.”

“Also, we have had a very serious problem with Christians who are being murdered, killed in Nigeria. We gonna be working on that problem, and working on that problem very, very hard, because we can’t allow that to happen ,” he said.

The U. S . President said his country would invest substantially in Nigeria, if Buhari creates a level – playing field by removing barriers to trade between the countries.

On the clashes between herders and farmers in Nigeria, Buhari said: “ The Nigerian herdsman never carried anything more than a stick and occasionally a machete, to cut down foliage and give to their animals. These ones are carrying AK 47. So, I don’ t think people should underrate what happened in Libya, 43 years of Gadaffi. People were recruited from the Sahel. They were taught nothing other than shoot and kill. With the demise of Gadaffi, they moved to their countries and their regions and they carried away with them, the only experience they have and training using weapons. And that is what is aggravating the situation . ”

Bhari then said: “ We are doing our best to ensure that we stop cross border (crime ) and so on, and to get the proliferation of small arms in the region checked But it is going to take time. And the action by the United States in trying to see the end of ISIS has helped us a lot , because Boko Haram in Nigeria, at one time, made a statement that they were loyal to ISIS. And now that ISIS has virtually gone, with the help of the United States, we are very grateful for that. And we are sure that we are stabilising the situation of security in Nigeria. ”

On what his government is doing to rescue the girls still being held by Boko Haram, Buhari said: ” The Chibok girls was before we came in 2014. We have only a number of them. We recovered about 30 of them. But the Dapchi ones, they were 106 that were kidnapped. We got 100 back , four died. One is still held in captivity, and we are very grateful for the United Nations that is acting between the kidnappers and us and haven’t given up. We are trying to get everybody back to join their families and their schools.”

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), meanwhile, has charged Buhari to explain to Nigerians how his administration spent the $1 billion grant from the United States.

It also expressed shock that Buhari admitted the receipt of only $500million and failed to say what became of the money. In a statement, yesterday, the party’s Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan , said “ More disturbing is the revelation by President Trump that the U. S . has been supporting Nigeria with the sum of $1 bn annually, whereas President Buhari, in his script, announced that Nigeria received only $ 500m last year.” The PDP said : “ We had expected President Buhari , as the ‘ African Champion on Anti-Corruption’, to immediately respond to President Trump on the whereabouts of the shortfall of $500 m. ”

It described Buhari’s performance as embarrassing for “completely failing to project the economic interests of our nation before the American government and the world. ”
