Having stayed true to his word and beating ‘The Notorious’ MMA star on his professional boxing debut, Mayweather has taken his fight record to an unrivalled 50-0.

‘Money’ had already matched Rocky Marciano’s career record of 49-0, but has now surpassed the heavyweight legend who died in a plane crash on August 31 1969, the eve of his 46th birthday.

Mayweather’s victory will no doubt disappoint the Marciano family.

Rocky Marciano Jr. had said before Mayweather took on McGregor that Floyd Jr. did not deserve to overtake his father for an ‘exhibition fight’.
