NoApology: Damn! Too many entanglements I even lost count of your men and their specific qualities.
I think my brain is entangled. Lemme detangle first so I can comment with a cleared head. Damn!
There in lies the difference between a man and a woman. Even if the boyfriends reach 15, she can keep tabs on all of them without anyone suspecting that another exist. For man it isn't possible, without a slip...
Cantonese: Where is the fire? Where is the mountain? Have you never heard of fifth columnists? When your fourth or fifth generation cousins suddenly claim to be your immediate brothers or representing your entire family, won't you just laugh at them as they make mockery of themselves and call them fools?
If it was so easy they should have presented themselves as candidates to contest even local council elections. They would simply claim that Godwin Obaseki did not give them their due share in the contracts or wealth of Edo state. Great nations did not attain their heights through such methods.
If Obaseki is trying to create jobs, ensure security and build infrastructure with the lean resources, develop the state for them and their children, why not support him? Oshiomole dealt with the likes of Bob Izua when he became the governor, yet heaven did not fall. If Obaseki says agberos are agents of set back to the peace and financial stability of his state, then they must leave. Now all funds generated through the parks, etc go directly into the state purse and not enrich some crooks. If (without possibility) Ize Iyamu wins and returns the agberos, who would be blamed? Oshiomole who chased them away now wants them back as a way of recovering power. Rubbish. If agberos are dealt with in Lagos, do you know how much will return to the pockets of passengers? Do you know how much will be in the pockets of transporters? Do you know how much will get into the state account?
Ize Iyamu wants to claim that he penetrated Obaseki's family and show to the world that Obaseki did not help his family with state funds. Is this not a sign of what Ize Iyamu will use state funds to do with his family and friends? All those who have decamped thought they could get millions yet they only got their salaries as at when due.
Obaseki was fair to them all.
Once again to all our youths. As long as you continue to support all those who loot your resources and underdevelop you, you will remain where you are. Oshiomole rightly introduced Obaseki as a technocrat and so far Obaseki has not failed to deliver.
What KPIs did you use to arrive at this conclusion
Just paying civil servants salary for the business of government to continue for sustainability of itself. It's like putting fuel in the car, then start the vehicle without the vehicle moving
chrisxxx: There are people who are insatiable. Even Buhari has enemies from his family, compound and within. Obaseki is not a bad product from an unbiased assessment. The KPI to gauge a governor's performance in Nigeria is the payment of salary. To this end civil servants have not come against him. Edo is not a rich state like other Niger Delta states. His efforts may not be seen immediately because he is not into window dressing. Any good economist does not target short term projects but long investments.
Do you agree that civil servant form about 5% of the eligible work force in the state
Do you further agree that by your statement, the money meant for all is being used for 5%. While allowing all to suffer from infrastructural decay, flooding due to blocked drains and all. Where is the logic in that?
friday2011: Only lazy youths on nairaland will not think and see that politics (politicians) in Nigeria which includes edo state are deeply rooted in corruption...
Everyone of them is looking for where to eat without working...
The problem Obaseki is facing in edo is the problem of him not sharing money anyhow to politicians, simple...
But as usual, our people will always act first and think later...
I pray edolites can stand there ground and vote for him, he has not done badly as far as I am concerned...
I am just worried that our people can easily be cajoled to vote him out with few cups of rice and few naira notes...
Lets wait and see, September is next month.
You can still pass you intended thoughts without insults and name calling...just my thinking
friday2011: Another reason why I said our youths are too lazy to think just played out in your quote...
Its a known fact that politics is an expensive venture all over the world even in America and Nigeria is not left out...
Definitely impossible for him to be received in PDP without some few promises made...
Take it or leave it, no money was exchanged between Obaseki and PDP as a party aside including the individuals who stepped down for him as flag bearer in his government if reelected.
Very funny, kindly explain what Gov. Wike was alluding to Obaseki came and also insisted on his deputy as well...hmmm and no money exchanged hands just meat pie and soft drinks...

But paid for the governorship ticket to the tax collectors. Ok I see, Edo money only for Godwin...
Also some family members have this entitlement mentality. If you are in a position, they all want to start feasting and get sumptuous positions whether qualified or not.
What people do not know is that the mother of Dr Pedro, the cousin of Obaseki, is also Ize-Iyamu's aunt.
I won't be surprised if these are Pedro's siblings endorsing their aunt's son. It may be that only by surname that they appear more related to Obaseki.
chrisxxx: If I were in Edo State, glaringly I would vote Obaseki. His relatives if at all doing this shows that he never shared money even at home. He wasn't nepotistic. It is glaring.
A bad product is not sellable. It takes a greater amount of strength and courage to own up to your mistakes and failures
I should not support my brother just because he is my brother, I should support him like others because he is performimg, and doing so for the good of ALL!!!
Anago55: the kind of anti obaseki thread that mods keep pushing to the front page is a pointer that nairaland is sympathetic to the ruling party. even when the news is false and unverified, them APC mods will still push it to the front page
Palema007: How come you guys don't read to understand, dude if you find anything wrong in that comment, you have issues and guess what? I'm not interested in solving them for you.
I do not have issues with them...l am just saying be frank with who you are during courtship. Not when you are enabled the True self comes out. That is not a honorable trait...
Palema007: A woman with standard, self esteem and source of income can not be enslaved. It is either she kick out the archaic man's ass or the Man conform with her set standards. For example a woman who owns and uses washing machine and other house chores gadgets can not be expected to wash clothes with bare hands or do things traditionally by any Man.
You are responsible for how people treat you.
How come you guys do not brandish these ideas during courtship
So the man can leave if that does not fit in to his expectations.
Guys most likely meets the women when they are jobless. They get married then she says she wants to work. Once the job comes she remembers that she can be independent...

mantosa: Getting noticed is hard work and as a music artist you now have your competition cut for you on a global scale because everyone consumes music on that level. So the choice to stream your banging fresh music will be weighed alongside streaming Adekunle Gold’s new EP, for example.
Scary, right? We have help.
If you’re a music artist trying to make a name for yourself, this is for you. Here are 5 vital ingredients every Nigerian hit song should have to stand a chance at making it into the mainstream.
1. A SLANG OR A CATCH PHRASE
To warm your way into the average Nigerian’s playlist takes more than vocal dexterity; you need to be a linguist of some sort. Because to acquire the ever-elusive hit song status, you need to give Nigerians something to talk about.
Literally.
Something easy, fun to say, catchy and most preferably ridiculous will do. Slangs like “Something light”, “Pepper them” “Banana fall on you”, “Isakaba Iselebete Isokolotobo” “Robo SkeskeRobo Skeske”, has been known to transform otherwise ordinary-sounding songs into mega hits!
So be it an already existing street slang or its home-made equivalent, always give people something to keep in their mouths. If you do it right, forgetting you or your song will be a very, very difficult task.
2. GET YOUR TEMPO RIGHT
The first thing you’ll notice about almost every Nigerian hit song is that they all play at the same tempo! Strange? Not at all.
It’s actually a proven formula that you should seriously consider, if you’re planning to make an impression of some sort in the Nigerian music scene. It’s safer to keep the tempo of your song above 160 BPM, however trends are changing and hit song tempos are beginning to swing between 115 BPM and 120 BPM. Want some advice? Pay attention to trends and join the bandwagon. This is not the time for you to stand out or try to be different.
3. BECOME A DANCE EXPERT
If you must give people what to dance to, the least you can do is teach them how to dance. From the early 2000s, Nigerian music stars have stolen new fans through exciting dance moves; from Galala to Shoki to Yahuze to Alanta to Azonto, Shoki, Shakiti bobo, Shaku Shaku and finally to the latest of trends, the athletic-driven Zanku. This is how it has been and the trend isn’t going anywhere soon. Making a hit song goes well beyond the song itself, it goes as far as everything the song represents, including how it is enjoyed. Things as little as this keep songs memorable, socially relevant and unforgettable.
4. HOOK UP WITH THE BIG GUYS
You might have heard it before but if you haven’t, then hear it now “Success is contagious!”, if you want to swim to the top then you must learn to do a few breast strokes with Phelps! Leveraging on the influence and popularity of the big names in the industry works like magic. From hooking up with the big producers to hooking up to the big artists for track collaborations, down to getting the big names to direct and shoot your video, is a sure way of getting noticed in record time.
5. SHOVE IT DOWN THEIR THROATS
No matter how magical, artistic or groundbreaking you think your song is, you need to really put in work into getting your audience to listen. With the rise in activity in the industry and the ceaseless flow of artistes, singles and albums; making it into the average Nigerian’s playlist today takes a stroke of genius. You must set aside an intelligent marketing strategy and an accompanying befitting budget to follow it up, from budget to cover airplay to budget to cover online marketing, digital distribution, media features and lots more. You must be determined to shove your very good or very bad work of art down the throat of your audience, till they have no other choice than to surrender in love and awe at your craft.
That’s it, five proven formulas to use as a music artiste to make your body of work stick.
Chris525: An individual buying 10 packs of condoms at a go would draw attention about anywhere in the world. I'm sure you didnt buy 10pcs of the other things you got.
Additional 5 pcs just to be petty? Next time clear the whole shelf.
Why it isn't something you have to be adding on your daily shopping list. I do the same, buy to last a long while, a very long while
Dedetwo: Above crap is a typical stream of thought that can only come from a Nigerian.
What makes it crap, because it does not align with the supremacist white agenda. It is indeed unfortunate for a human being to make a comment like you did above. I am Nigerian, l am black and l am proud!!!
