Nigerian goverment and companies should take FIRE SAFETY and OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH and SAFETY SERIOUSLY not just by employing an HSE officer and wearing PPE but by having a regularly tested and improved safety management system (SMS).
Duly planned, implemented, monitored and evaluated SMS would have prevented this. In this particular business line prevention is better and waaay cheaper than cure
Sorry to all those affected by this. The loss will be huge |

executive12: That is why I was surprised that they still voted massively for Buhari. Same for Plateau State. Election in Nigeria is another Mata o. Some people might vote for a candidate cos they don't want the opponent not because they even want the candidate. Some just vote cos of the party, if you bring a scarecrow and call it the party candidate they will vote for the inanimate objects because of party. We don't vote politicians based on their manifestoes , their stand on certain societal issues and their sensible reform plans |

enemyofprogress: his apologies are not enough nor accepted, the modafoka should be killed or jailed for life so as to serve as a lesson to others For those saying he has apologised, when they, their daughters and wives are physically assaulted by those in power, they should accept the insincere apologies and enter house. NobleAngell: Exactly. Imagine adults being treated like kids, simply because if they stand up for what's right, they risk having an extra year. Its a pity. Another scenario where power is been abused. How many Nigerian students will make it to International Blue Chip companies or Silicon Valley and invite their lecturers if there's a job opening? Las las the lecturers dey do themselves |
Education › Re: ESUT Lecturer Punishes Students For Making Noise While He Was Making Call by DameB(f): 7:51pm On Jul 03, 2019 |
baby124: Yes. Maturity in school will greatly reduce Cultism. Most of the cultists are influenced because of their age and lack of parental supervision. A 14/15yr old in Uni will want to live bigger than he is and experience things a 20yr old should be experiencing. They are more likely to lack a mind of their own and look for protection due to age. They are also more likely not to be able to fully evaluate the consequences of their actions.
As for yahoo and ritualism... that is a cultural scourge from unemployment and desperation. Which the FG needs to find job creation solutions. Age does help as it is expected to come with maturity and improved decision making skills. Remember competitiveness sometimes causes even the ones above 18 to be led astray. See ehn if being influenced was solely age-dependent, people won't be making a living as influencers. |
Education › Re: ESUT Lecturer Punishes Students For Making Noise While He Was Making Call by DameB(f): 7:41pm On Jul 03, 2019 |
NobleAngell: In a university? I don't blame the lecturer, its the students that knelt down that i blame.
Why should he take a call while lecturing? Is it right?
People don't know their right in this country. These lecturers destroy all forms of self-esteem from these students that by the time they enter the real jungle of job and business world, they become weak to fend for themselves. |
Education › Re: ESUT Lecturer Punishes Students For Making Noise While He Was Making Call by DameB(f): 7:38pm On Jul 03, 2019 |
baby124: Very good. Thumbs up to FG. Maturity in universities will also greatly reduce the nuisance of cultism. Those that graduate too early can either go to polytechnic or learn a skill. The ones that graduate early from programs like gifted school Suleja can get exemption to enter Uni since they are certified geniuses. Will it? My dear na ritualism now. Small kids back then might just be interested in dressing up and toasting babes/be hunted by guys due to all those raging hormones. But these old people now want YOLO and to live like Emoney |

baby124: Wait... it seems like Nigeria university students are little babies that they will be punishing them anyhow. When we say you should make minimum entrance age 18. Una no go hear. Why won’t a 15yr old kneel down and hands up in University.
I remember in secondary school when we had those aunty and uncle in school with us. Teacher dare not look them in the eye not to talk of giving them useless punishment. Na we de smallies de hear am Some Nigerian universities (especially federal) have started denying admission to those below 18 |

jlinkd78: This is really lesson for all our overzealous politicians. Having realised d video was all revealing and no hiding place for him he has suddenly beat a retreat and apologised. We d good people are saying that d apology is not enough . Tot he was grandstanding about his lawyer making a more detailed explanation but las las none exists. Shame to him, shame to his wife that came to his defence, shame to d gun wielding policemen that stood by and encouraged his power drive. If we all we unite on common courses that affect us all irrespective of political affiliation then d revolution we all yearn for might be closer than we imagine. Watching Sowore and Nnamdi Kanu in their joint statement shows we can all come together to hold our leaders to become accountability, d true gain in diversity of ideas. Wetin any right thinking lawyer wan advice am unto this matter? Big shame to him, his wife and those who initially adviced him wrongly. Truly. Coming together as fellow countrymen, setting aside our differences, to fight for the common good, issues that affect us all as humans especially issues like this will go a long way into improving our plight as a nation |
