@paddy jo,I can imagine d pain, bandwith, time and energy it costed u in defendind d indefensible.U can't fool evryone at d same time remember. The Excess Crude Account was created albeit unconstituionally by Gej's mentor-OBJ and was meant AS A BUFFER during RECESSION.av we been in an unusual recession since Nov,2010 or so when GEJ came in? The first week after the doctrine of neccesity was invoked he caved in to the guvnors demands and signed off part of d ECA.Since then aving discovered aw much leverage he could gain politically signing off d ECA,he has not stopped.Even GEJ during his struggle for the third term didn't liquidate the account.Gej has mismanaged the ECA,FACT! For ur claim that the ECA is going into thje sovereign wealth fund(SWF) am sure u are aware that d seed money proposed for the SWF is a miserly $1Billion. Just a billion my friend.Aw can u now relate a $1Billion fund with the over $30Billion ECA that Gej has mismanaged.Tell him to be ready to explain when the handover process begins in a weeks time. Thank u.

For those suddenly getting soft  Jonathan, stop!!! As much as my suspicion of him has been tempered by his handling of 411(April 4,2011) Elections I still find him too naive n unpresidentialike.remenmber,Sambo will be his deputy and most importantly with a hostile senate GEJ WILL NEVER achieve much.if he couldn't achieve much wit a PDP dominmated Parliament,aw will he do it wit an opposition? We need a reform minded person.#LetsmakeGEJalegengnotapresident.

Now guys let's talk like adults and intellectualsn, ehn.
U just took over power thru a BLOODLESS coup overthrowing someone from d SAME REGION.U were not so TRIBALISTIC to avoid overthrowin ur BROTHER. Prior to ur takin over, ther v been an unprecedent and mindless looting of d nation by the politicians overseen by a man with the same temperament like d current president.Shagari was 'gentle'and got to the position by luck-he wanted to be only a Senator until he was dragged in.
I apologise for d digression.
Now,u av taken over a country that was in chaos n the distrust of d politicains was palpable.u even punished some of them and attempted to instill discipline in all areas be it financial, ethics, environmental etc.It was in this kind of environment that a request to guarantee the mono rail line came.Would u allow that project to continue despite all the unclear circumstances.I want u guys to remember that Buhari was ruling from Lagos as at then?Mind u,Lagos was still the capital as at then. Its on record that OBJ cancelled lots of Abubakars project when he came in.He frustrated Tinubu's power project yet Kwara was treated more favourably.Abacha cancelled IBB's project.GEJ has now frustrated the dredging of d Niger River. In all these accusations,no one v accused GMB of stealing a dime. The guys has unrivalled integrity and consistency.infact, assuming GMB is d ultra-bigot he is being accused of(am sure he is not),in a democracy,u can't be partial without consequences.Buhari has fought for the people of this country all his life. Av u guys seen the infrastucture corridor map presented at the PH rally? Do u know the calibre of Intellectuals who r still covertly funding this campaign? Those who love Nigeria r tired of this PDP govt. PDP is the biggest, richest, most corrupt ethnic group in Nigeria. When they want to steal, they don't ask where Aninih,Bodey Jorge,Oddilli,Yuguda,Obusanjo,Mangal,Turakki is from. They do it without considering where they come from.Let's be wise guys.

NB;I typed from a BB fone,so am expecting some awkward alignment of d fonts with this post.

Jonathan met $33 BILLION Naira and have spent $27BILLION in just 7 months.

This is the most unbelievable thread on NL but we seem to be missing somethin very important-the party name n logo.WoMouth can spread d BB message but can't for d logo. The continuous attacks on av provided free publicity but we need to acquiant d pple wit d logo. Much more visual stuffs yet cheap optios-banners,small flyers or we coin a slang that focuses o d biro logo, cartoons etc.just my perspective but I will suggest we try to deepen d pen brand as quickly as possible.

Foreign AffairsRe: Africa Needs Investment, Not Aid by damoche07(m): 2:08pm On Jun 11, 2008
I have been enamoured by China's astronomic growth in the last decade but this years's olympics and the recent earthquake has further endeared me to that country. I am in my late 20's and i can authoritatively say that i never had any positive view of China while growing up.The only thing i knew about them was Chinese Movies.
If you have been folowing the way China has been handling the recent earthquake especially the huge lake that they are trying to control, you cannnot but doff your hat. What? I Wonder even if the US could have done it better? I haven't mentioned the great structures and preparation they are making for the Olympics. If u watch Discovery , u must have seen some of them on the programme 'Great Structures' or whats the name?. In my little corner as a public analyst with cerebral limitations, there are things China did that i think we can copy.
They looked inwards. China turned its back against the world for the early part of the last two decades. I am not talkin about the Iranian kind but the Libyan example. Libya was a pariah nation for  most of the last 20years but today they are sending our children home. We need to really look inwards. How many times did Chairman Mao(whoever is it?) or Libyan Qaddaffi travel all over the world looking for help in the last 20 years. Thw world order is already established. The poor have been seperated friom the rich and its very didfficulut for poor countries to break the viciuos cycle using the current structutre put in place by the rich. Its not just possible. Few countries like Malaysia or the eastern europeans might have benefitted from the structure but thats very rare. LET US LOOK INWARD. We need to practise a kind of 'half hearted Globalisation'i.e we recognise that we are in globalised world but we still want to show the world that we want to solve our problems.Right now we are not and thats why we hardly quarell with the developed world.Lets be truthful to ourselves,if we express a strong independent will to solve our problems, the developed world will tell us we can't but i tell you a kind of respect develops. They will still come with their 'help' but we will only take what we need. The terrible thing about investment and aids is that it caused AIDS, yes AIDS(Aids and Investment Dependency syndrome). Its a warped belief that without aids and investment we can't grow.Baldersdash. I aint sayiing investment ,aids and grants are terrible but dependence on them is.Which investment came into Libya for most of the last  two decades?
A colleague of mine was opportuned to a attend a conference of late and Sonnie Ayere of UBA spoke there. This guy's insight on how to use our excess funds i learnt was novel and mind blowing. Look at the AFC's proposition about solving the power problem. It was shot down. AFC was organised by Sloudo just in attempt to prove that we can solve Africa's problem. AFC's proposal has not seen the light of the day, instead the Senate has decided to probe it.For me, Until we repsyche ourselves that we can solve our problems alone,we wont develop.Mind u,we cannot develop wihout the help of others. No,we can't but we must be in a position to know the help we need and the ones we don't.China while it looked really inward knew the help to take and not to. It worked for them. This leads to some broader issues like leadership, human resource development, politics etc. I hope to be able to contribute as time goes on. For now i think i have to stop cheating my employer.

NB:i ask for forgiveness from those who might be riled by my amateurism or grammatical blunders.

Union Diagnostics:
I have been waiting for my Union Diagnostics certificate but none was forthcoming so I decided to call. After so many trails, I got to speak with a lady who brutally informed me that I was only allotted about 10% of original units. I ordered 135,000 units and was allotted 25000. This is pitiful I could not say a word.

If you have gotten your certificate, please attest. I read somewhere that they had full allotment and now I suspect fraud in my case. I am so disappointed. Could I have gotten so few because I used a different broker than CashCraft?

They informed me that my money and certificate was sent to my broker. My broker has not received anything from them. Now I am in a Chicken and Egg situation. I have been noticing that slowly the Nigeria market (stock brokers, registrars and coys) are introducing the Nigerian factor into stock investment and I am worried. Here are the phone numbers:
1-7614209
1-7908906
1-2799880
I was alloted the units (though very small) i ordered for and the cert came yesterday.Investigate further.

Cashcraft? Uhm!

Conflict resolution experts suggest that concessions have to be made to solve conflicts. Its on this basis am suggesting that Blueband remove change his  signature to something else.Maybe its the cashcraft people people that are on a vendetta.

Blueband i understand you are disappointed with Cashcraft but please change the signature and lets see if the tirades will cease.Pleaaase.U can still complain and report any of their well known failures but just remove the signature. If this doesnt work, then lets call Seun's attention.

Greentree,we understand your grouse against Blueband but as you can see u are causing a lot of damage here.I can gurantee that he will remove his signature but i cant guarantee that he will stop complaining about you if your services dont get better.

Am i making any sense here at all?Maybe

I don't talk much on this forum so i wont expose my ignorance sad sad sad wink, but of late i have been seeing some ads in the newspapers(hard copies, not e-versions o,so the NID's might not know about it.)Its an E shape and it keeps talking about coporate governance and the banking system. After i saw the ad,the fonts and style looked like the ones we used to use when i was working with ETB. After asking someone, the person confirmed it must be from ETB but doesnt know whats cropping.

I am saying this to ask if anybody knows whats going to happen, because i learnt Adenuga employed KPMG to purge the 'Civil service mentality' out of the bank and ensure a proper governance structure. The koko of the long story is this.

Is ETB coming out with an IPO? If so,how soon will that be.

To further help boost the peace coming back to this treasured thread, i have decided to obamanise, copy, i mean some jokes from the jokes section cortesy of Sam Milla

Here they are;

Little DAVID comes home from first grade and tells his father that they learned about the history of Valentine's Day.

"Since Valentine's Day is for a Christian saint and we're Jewish," he asks, "will God get mad at me for giving someone a valentine?"

His father thinks a bit, then says, "No, I don't think God would get mad. Who do you want to give a valentine to?"

"Osama bin Laden," David says.

"Why Osama bin Laden," his father asks in shock.

"Well," Josh says, "I thought that if a little American Jewish boy could have enough love to give Osama a valentine, he might start to think that maybe we're not all bad, and maybe start loving people a little bit. And if other kids saw what I did and sent valentines to Osama, he'd love everyone a lot. And then he'd start going all over the place to tell everyone how much he loved them and how he didn't hate anyone anymore."

His father's heart swells and he looks at his boy with newfound pride. "DAVID, that's the most wonderful thing I've ever heard."

"I know," DAVID says, "and once that gets him out in the open, the ARMY could blow the shit out of him."

There was a party that many rich people attended. The host had recently built a tank with many alligators, paranas, and many other things that could kill you. The host said that if anyone could swim across the tank, he would, to the best of his ability, grant them 3 wishes.

Well, nobody was up to the challenge, so everyone just started having a good time and doing that "party thing."

Suddenly, there was this big splash! The host looked and saw a man swimming to beat hell across the tank, and, look and behold, he made it!

The host walked over to the man and said, "Alright, you made it, WOW!. What are your 3 wishes?" The man replied, "First, you see that shotgun of yours? give it to me , Two, see those bullets over there? give me them, 3, show me the bastard who pushed me into that pool."  tongue huh cool

Two Arabs boarded a flight out of London. One took a window seat and the other sat next to him in the middle seat. Just before takeoff, an American sat down in the aisle seat.

After takeoff, the American kicked his shoes off, wiggled his toes and was settling in when the Arab in the window seat said,"I need to get up and get a beer".

"Don't get up," said the American, "I'm in the aisle seat. I'll get it for you".

As soon as he left, one of the Arabs picked up the American's shoe and spat in it. When he returned with the beer, the other Arab said, "That looks good, I'd really like one, too". Again, the American obligingly went to fetch it.

While he was gone the other Arab picked up his other shoe and spat in it too. When the American returned, they all sat back and enjoyed the flight.

As the plane was landing, the American slipped his feet into his shoes and knew immediately what had happened.

"Why does it have to be this way?" he asked. "How long must this go on? This fighting between our nations? This hatred? This animosity? This spitting in shoes,  pissing in beers?" wink wink wink wink tongue

Hopes this helps.Got to go back to work.
