Christianity EtcRe: I'm A Free Thinker: Does That Mean I Won't Go To Heaven? by damoche07(m): 12:02pm On Aug 09, 2007
Hi friend. Learning that you are free thinker really interested me.However on first observation i wondered why a free thinker believes there is a heaven at all not to talk of thinkin about going there. I immediately found an answer. Every human being is wired up naturally to fill a spiritual need,a vacuum that exists inside. You can agree to the eixtense of this or not.We all want to know why things happen and why we can't control some of them.We feel the need to relate with something metaphysical and most importanyly we want to know what happens to people after death. In our attempt to get answers,so many things influence our decisions. Some try to get the truth but can't.Some find the truth but find it different to what they want to be the truth. Some don't find it at all. Some lucky few find it and accept it.For all those in all the situations except the last one, there are various reactions. Some look inside and decide to excise themselves from reality by assuming that they are capable of filling that inner vaccum i talked about. They decide not to hurt people,be moralistic, disciplined, kind and even fight against evil in the society.Yet it never cures the pain inside. No,it can't and will never.Goin back to how people react to their search for the truth. Some people decide to create their own 'god' .It could be physical or absract. In fact, nowadays most of our gods are not the physical gods.We now have gods like shopping, vacations charity, and so many.Yet,it can never cure our pain.It can never fill the void.
The only place we can find peace and assurance of heaven like my friend wants is in that person that you dislike-Jesus.Maybe u have seen so many 'pastors' and 'christians' disappiont u and u feel its better to stay alone and just do 'good'.My friend it wont change the truth.Search more for the truth because am sure you are still searching.Am sure you are just usin the free thinker mode to fiil the void until you find the truth.Tell Your Creator(because am sure u know u didnt just happen) SINCERELY to show you the truth.Sincerity will do it,i bet it but if you have been shown the truth and have rejected or neglected it,listen to what the bible says 'The FOOL says in his heart that there is no GOD.DONT BE ONE FRIEND.

SportsHere Is A Message For The Fans From Prof Arsene Wenger by damoche07(op): 2:15pm On Jul 17, 2007
On Sunday, it will be exactly a year since Arsenal played their first game at Emirates Stadium. Our reflection on the past 12 months continues here with the thoughts of Arsène Wenger.

The Arsenal manager gives his verdict on the first season at Emirates Stadium on and off the pitch, and examines his squad's strengths and weaknesses ahead of the 2007/08 campaign.

"This time last year we were preparing for our first season at Emirates Stadium. We had a difficult start because at first it was a bit like playing at a neutral ground, but now we feel much more at home. We have that sense of comfort and strength.

"A number of issues affected the way we played in our first year at the stadium. The pitch is bigger so we needed to show more patience. We were used to getting from one end of the pitch to the other very quickly at Highbury so we had to adapt. In previous years we scored a lot of counter-attacking, direct goals, but at Emirates teams have more time to regroup behind the ball. Because of that we scored a lot of different types of goals last season.

"Another lesson we had to learn was to use the width of the pitch more effectively and get more crosses into the box. You could see that we were getting there last season. We became more dangerous with our crosses and more patient in our build-up. We became more efficient in closing our opponents down too. I felt we allowed them too much space early in the season but that has changed.

"The negative history which afflicted some teams at Highbury did not exist last season. Instead, visiting teams were motivated to win their first game at Emirates Stadium and were not dragged down by bad memories at the ground. An element of that will have gone in the new season but, most importantly, we have found an efficient way of playing and can rely on our own strengths.

"The other thing to mention is that we have got the stadium looking the way we want it. The history is all around us now, with pictures in the players' area for example, and now it's up to us to make that history on the pitch too. We live with the legends of the Club and that makes us feel at home.

"I don't think any team in the world could be efficient in a new stadium as soon as they move in. But of course I don’t believe that was the only difference between us and Manchester United last season.

"Indeed, I think there are two things that summed up last season. First, if you make a table of the results against the other teams in the top four, then we are top. Then if you make a table against the teams in the top half, Manchester United have 43 points, we have 40, so do Chelsea, and Liverpool have 33.

"That shows that we lost the championship against teams in the bottom half of the table. So that is where we will have to be much more efficient this season. We have to be consistent in our mental preparation, in our ruthlessness as well.

"There are plenty of positives to take from last season. The mental strengths of my team are clear: we were behind in more games than anyone else but kept coming back. We lost only one game when we were leading - and that was against Chelsea in the Carling Cup Final.

"We scored 21 goals in the final 15 minutes of league games. The next highest was 15 or 16 so we are by far the most efficient team in the last 15 minutes. All of that tells you that we have a mixture of mental strengths, of potential, but that there is also a naivety, and sometimes we have not been ruthless enough when we could have killed games off. It is these two ingredients which have to be improved.

"My squad has outstanding qualities, there are factors in the team which tell you that this side can be absolutely outstanding. But to win trophies you have to be a killer. You have to have everything together and that is what we are aiming for.

"I want us to start the new season well. We were seven points behind after three games last year and had to chase the leaders all season, so a win against Fulham in our opening game is important. But I have to say I am really looking forward to the new season because we are used to playing at Emirates Stadium now and that will make a difference. Hopefully we won't drop many points there because we no longer have to adapt to our surroundings.

"The stadium itself is incredible. I went to the Diamond Club for a function and I could not believe how good it was. The food was amazing, it is like being in a two-star Michelin restaurant. It's only when you look out of the window that you realise you are also in a top-class football stadium.

"I found it amazing and I imagine it must be a dream to be up there for lunch on a matchday, then follow it by watching high-quality football. If you like to eat good food, and like to watch good football, well, there is no better place to be in the world. Emirates Stadium is where you have to be.

"Thanks for your support."

Christianity EtcDrop Your Prayer Point Here. by damoche07(op): 6:20pm On Jul 05, 2007
I chose the word 'drop' intentionally.I want u to imagine ursef dropping that worrisome burden at CHRIST'S feet.Imagine him collecting them and giving u a new lease of life. After this, then pray for he prayer point that the last person dropped.Forget about your own worry for now, worry about other people 's own burden and say a prayer to God for them.At least everybody has worries and the safest place to get them solved is with God.Other avenues all add up more sorrows and burdens at the end. However,i want u to remember that only GOD'S love is unconditional, his promises which are yes and amen are conditional. So,have u done your part of the contract. If u havent,it's better to do it now so these prayers can be quickly answered.Your part of the contract is Giving your life to CHRIST and remain so.No going back to the old ways, but standing fast in the lord.I AM EXPECTING TESTIMONIES.

Have look at the new Arsenal Goal Poacher. Bet it,we will be 'Eduardo has the incisiveness to turn a game'
Eduardo da Silva became Arsenal's first signing of the summer when he completed his move to Emirates Stadium on Tuesday afternoon.

The Croatian striker had a prolific record at Dinamo Zagreb and has also impressed at international level, scoring in his country's 2-0 victory against England in their Euro 2008 qualifier last October.

Jonathan Wilson, author of 'Behind the Curtain - Travels in Eastern European Football', has seen Da Silva's rapid rise at close quarters. Read on for his insight on Arsenal's new recruit, from Da Silva's attributes as a striker to the step up from Croatian football.

What are Eduardo's main strengths as a footballer?

"I think his finishing ability is the key thing. A good example is the Euro 2008 qualifier between Croatia and Estonia in Tallinn last month. It was one of those games where Croatia were clearly the better side but they had got a bit bogged down. Estonia had put a lot of men behind the ball, it was a frustrating game which could have ended 0-0. There had been no chances at all but suddenly the ball popped up on the edge of the box, Eduardo span and lashed it into the bottom corner before the defender had had a chance to move. It was the only goal of the game.

"That's what Eduardo gives you. He has that inventiveness and incisiveness to turn a game. A criticism levelled at Arsenal in recent seasons is that they don't make the most of their possession, they don't score as many goals as they should. Eduardo can provide that cutting edge."

How much of a step up will Premiership football be?

"It's a step up for him because Croatian football is not the best standard. The emphasis is on a different area of the game over there. Against a Premiership side a decent Croatian team would probably be muscled off the ball, but if it came down to keeping possession they would possibly win quite comfortably. The big two are Dinamo Zagreb and Hadjuk Split but there is not an awful lot below that. Zagreb had an injection of cash so they brought in Jens Nowotny and kept hold of their better players for longer."

So can he make it in England?

"The standard is lower in Croatia but Eduardo still broke the scoring record there last season and I think he can make the step up. [Croatia coach] Slaven Bilic mentioned him to me three years ago now. He said he had someone in the Under-21s who could slot into the Manchester United side without any problems, and Bilic is a very honest bloke, he would not say something like that unless he really meant it. He wasn't trying to raise his value or anything. Eduardo has scored hatfuls of goals since then and has a good record at international level with seven goals in 12 games."

That tally includes a goal against England, of course.

"Yes. He scored against England with a header when Paul Robinson was criticised for his positioning, but the more I see it I think Eduardo deserves credit because he headed the ball back across Robinson to the only place he knew it couldn't be saved. It was a more difficult header to execute but he had the intelligence to do that in a split second, he out-thought Robinson. Eduardo also scored against Italy so it shows he can prosper against very good defenders."

Are there similarities between Eduardo and Thierry Henry?

"Eduardo is certainly not like Henry, who likes to drop deep and collect the ball. He sees his role as a scorer of goals."

How do you see him fitting into the Arsenal side?

"For Croatia he plays alongside Petric, a big, awkward striker not too different to Emmanuel Adebayor. Petric tends to drift and do a lot of the physical work, winning balls in the air, like Adebayor. Croatia play with three attacking midfielders behind the front two and one holding midfielder, so Eduardo is used to have skilful midfielders behind him. Arsenal have plenty of players like that, such as Rosicky, Van Persie, Hleb and Fabregas. He is used to that way of playing.

"Some of the profiles I have read today have described Eduardo as a poacher and nothing more, but he has other qualities. He can hold the ball up, he is quite strong and compact, he can bring the ball down on his chest, he directs his headers well, he is intelligent and quick, not lightning fast but quick enough. I think he and Adebayor will work well together."

Finally, Eduardo is 25/1 to win the Premiership Golden Boot. Are you tempted to have a bet?

"I think it's a good each-way bet. He may need that bedding-in period but assuming he is first choice at Arsenal, 25/1 seems pretty generous to me. I think the only question is how to get Eduardo performing as he does now at a higher level. I think he just needs to sharpen certain skills."
