@Barge.welcome back from your self declared vacation.Good to see  you.

Good to see that the those caught in the frenzy of CICO has discovered its not that easy.People like FO2 and Windy have the experience, finesse and patience most newbies don't.The wanajo/easimoni technique is still da best.

Back to Transcorp please cos i have some interest in that company.Infact, i want to enter the board one day.Ready to fight it out with Samstone. tongue cool
I have always loved the idea behind company cos i know what Temasek did/and still doing in Singapore. Now that our seeminly ever confused president has agreed-after listening to Ndidi/Iseghogi's presentation to give MTEL back to Transcorp, what do you think?

Anybody out there with info on what Transcorp really wants to do?Nairaland is too rich with info.

Hi guys. AKTopgun et al,thanks for keeping thethread on track.your candleology is very revealing and i really enjoy your analysis. Hope your Junkies are reacting well to treatments. How is that guy doing now?am sure he is better.

I bought into  Union Diagnostic PP last year. Somebody was reading his paper jejely in the plane when i borowed it and saw the one page ad.They promised to list by october 07. anybody out there fron Cashcraft who can give us an update?

Egbon Wanajo,i can see you are upbeat about Oando.I am happy that at least a truly Nigerian coy is diving into Upstream. As u rightly said, thats whats Transcorp should be doing and i believe they will still do it once they can be set free of Mtel and get part off their money back.Make them just announce that exploration has started on their block and see spike. That stock is a N40 stock by the next twelve months(Caveat Empty or Emptor o).With OML 125 and 134,i wish Oando good luck.I hope they will be able to deal with the Italians well well.At least then don borrow money. With Oando,Afren and the new guys coming up,we will soon get a foothold in the Upstream in sha God

@easimoni
So u think OBJ will put such a clause in giving selling NITEL to Transcorp? Its most unlikely.

Things like that are very rare in the public sector.

Whats intriguing is the huge cross over happening during the TS.If it continues till weekend, then i think a script is just been acted out in public.

I am watching.

BHG:
Damouche thank you jare.

Meanwhile a bit of information for all, One of the investors at FCMB are currently having trouble with their investment in Kenya.Hopefully this will not impact FCMB.I beg dey watch am like eagle o!.(see below)

A private equity group based in London risks becoming caught up in the Kenyan political crisis after the country’s opposition leader called for a boycott of a bank in which it is the largest shareholder.

Helios Investment Partners paid KSh11bn ($176m) for a 25 per cent stake in Equity Bank days before a presidential election in which Raila Odinga, opposition leader, claims he was robbed of victory by government-orchestrated rigging.

Following three weeks of protests and violence, the opposition on Friday revealed a plan to boycott Equity Bank and other businesses perceived to be linked to allies of president Mwai Kibaki.

“Whatever you do on the political front, unless the people around Kibaki are pinched in a very material way they’re not going to budge,” said Salim Lone, a spokesman for Mr Odinga. “This is also a way to encourage the moderates to assert themselves.”

Foreign investors snapped up assets across Africa last year as economic growth on the continent accelerated but the Kenyan crisis has provided a reminder of the political risks it still carries.
Its good news for FCMB cos if they have problems in Kenya, where will they take the money to?Nija of course.

I think your contribution very educational. Please it at the top. With the support of you guys, we will surely rule the world market

@Invisible Thanks for helping out. Was just trying to warn him to be very careful in the sector.Even if he plans to stay on the long term,if he buys AIICO now he has to wait for a longer time.By the time the new shares are added and the dust settles on it,it might not be too sweet again.

For the Insurance sector,by the time results come out May/June coupled with the listing of the newly sold shares, there will definetely be retractions. But remember the NSE is unpredictable.

Hello House,

I instructed my stockbroker to get me some units of LASACO and AIICO sometime in January. On asking yesterday, i was told that theses stocks have not been and are still not available. I somehow do not believe this, but if truly it is, what other stocks do u think are good buys within this week.
For AIICO,please cancel your Order immediately u finish reading this. Its like a fast moving train,u dont wanna attempt to catch it.It was on TS most of January.

For LASACO,he should have got it,but for me its too late now.Are they not supossed to go on TS soon. Please be careful.Insurance is a minefield as Pumping will say.Ask the Sierraleonans what that really means.

Got to go back to work.

Transcorp! Transcorp! Transcorp!

NAPOLEAAAAAAAAAAN,WanajoWhere are you please. Hope u got something for your people?we expect you to have better insight than us.Kindly give your take before people start selling the hen that will lay the golden egg.

For me,the upsurge in price in the last few weeks is not just ordinary. Most people thot it was just about the bull run(which Loma says make investors look like a financial genius) of two weeks agobut it has defied that. For me i have learnt not to panic in this NSE.Its a crazy place.Who are the people buying the stock for the past few weeks when the reversal of Mtel sale was imminent? Some people knew what we now know? Why the sudden resignations and board wranglings? Everything looks hazy for now but the koko of the matter is that if Transcorp refuses to bleed heavily today and tommorow,i will hold on to the little i have and if possible plunge in the more. Its crazy but my gut feeling is telling me it wont turn out bad.

I hope i wont need aktopgun and Blueband.I wont.

finally living things are beginning to speak up and out.
its really funny why UNITED NATIONS will give Young Peoples Ambassador to someone like DBanj.
with a song like that 'Why Me' and 'Booty Call', he should not sniff it, but i guess even the guys at the top
really are "deaf" to such things. There is also a billboard just when you are leaving 3rd Mainland Bridge , one energy drink
just looking at the billboard, one will be forced to ask what the ladies in the picture actually wanted, a DRINK or something else, its horrible, the things we want to copy from other communities, "COMMON SENSE is there, they cannot COPY". If one of Dbanj's music is banned, it'll help people understand the role of an organisation like NBC and probably inspire CREATIVITY amongst the Musicians. NO BEEF against DBanj, but Brother PLEASE! do something else. To top up the Insult, the Mingy Rascal was asked what KOKOLETE means and he said KOKOLETE is GOD,, he has very little time left.

@ amguud (Sure you don't have KIDS yet and i can imagine what colour you painted Lagos yesterday.)
Spot on.Concur.Agree.

Even in the west, there are still radio versions of most ludicrous songs. Its dificult today to watch local TV and escape your sensibilities being assaulted.Keep the radio and videos sane please.NBC can't ban people from hearing whatever they want to hear but at least they can ban it on radio and TV.Shikena.

Hello House, easi, windy, topgunny, tammie, pummie, crazzyy, riskyyy, pumpppyyy and all

Kindly tell me whats your take on an offer to buy Springbank shares at N9. I know the bank has problems but I am ready for the long haul on this one.
What I would like to know is if there is any hope that the bank will come up soon (learnt that it is being run by CBN now) and what price it should go for as at now. If you were presented an offer to buy spring bank shares at a discount, would you go for it?
I checked to see how much it stopped at but got no information on that. and why is it not on the list? I expected it should be there even with no trade.

Kindly help
Kevinbash,i have noticed your name on the forum for sometime now and for u to even have considered buying spring bank without any assurance of good news saddens me.It shows u have not imbibed the culture and wealth of info on this thread.Consider why somebody will want to sell at a discount for u.Pleaseeeeeeee dont and i doubt if u can even get it cos i think its on full suspension.Look for other opportunities and dont even think of going on a long haul with a rickety plane. It might turn into another munich a la Manchester United.

I rarery visit this thread but each time i visit i further confirm the fact that Chavski and Manure fans are Voyeurs. Thats a word made popular by JM.

Why are they more concerned with an Arsenal thread than theirs?

Well, any day Manure fans and Chavski fans stop talking about us,then we are in trouble.

Keep talking while we continue winning.

If someone asked me what i achieved in 2007, i will gladly put joining this thread as one of them. You ask me if its an achievement and i would say a big YES.U guys from all over the world have been a huge blessing and inspiration to me.I was BLIND but now i can SEE.I am attached and let me say i am addicted to this thread. The communication has been faceless but has not been useless.
I have seen selflessness at its zenith,EMAACHILE,NBA,OLOLUFEMI,KPINEO,-those guys can tell u and post anything they lay their hands on ;Ingenuinty at its peak-EASIMONI,NO SHAKING,ROUGHCUT,AKTOPGUN,YODIYOKUN,SHIGIDI,WINDYWENDY,FRANKRIRI,TEMMIE10 etc;camarederie at its best-AKTOPGUN'S CHILD BIRTH,AKOKITES;experience, calmness and foresightedness-WANAJO,BARGE, successful Tacticians and Strategists-FATHER OF 2.I have seen a lot i cant remember now but the past few months have further strengthened my belief in Humanity and in Nigerians. It means we can all achieve great things if we unite and become a little more selfless.I guess the facelessness really helped.
I express my gratitude to those who have answered my questions at one time or the other.I also want to express my appreciation to those i failed to remember thier names.my memory sometimes disappoints me.Seun, thanks for setting this up and for not banning me throught the year especially when i took u up on some issues.
Finally,i pray for God's protection for everybody till the end of the year.i pray that his favour, grace, provision, mercy and goodness shall be with u all.I also pray that the NSE will continue to lay the golden egg.It will never crash.Say Amen!I pray for Nigeria's prosperity and righteuosness.Justice shall reign in our land.Lest i forget,i pray for AKTOPGUN'S kid.May the grace of the Lord be with u all as we celebrate his birth and sacrifice for our sins.
I love u all. smiley smiley smiley
