Christianity EtcRight To Send Religous Mails To Staff Mails? by damoche07(op): 1:59pm On Dec 18, 2007
Av got the idea for some time now.It involves sending a christian themed mail to the general staff address book. Most people send tips on general discussions. Some of them are not brilliant. Now,if i decide to start sending christian themed mesages, wont the muslims start theirs?there is no law against sending such unsolicited mails for now.or what do u think?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by damoche07(m): 9:07am On Dec 17, 2007
The balance of power in London football is shifting, we saw it on 'Grand Slam Sunday'.

Since the "Invincibles" ruled the roost in 2003-2004 it's been a thin time for Arsene Wenger's Gunners.

In their place as English football's unstoppable force came Chelsea, bossed by the irresistible Jose Mourinho.

But Mourinho is gone, Chelsea no longer scare anybody and Arsenal are back in a big way.

At the start of this season I laughed at anybody talking up Wenger's kids as title material. Even a few games in I was still rolling my eyes.

But whether they eventually beat Manchester United to the biggest prize of all or not, they've made a believer of me. Now I know that there is substance to go with the undeniable style.

On Sunday at the Emirates we didn't see too much of the beautiful football that has wowed English football since August.

But we saw a team that displayed enough physical and mental fortitude to show they won't wilt in this most enthralling of title races.

They may not be the finished article just yet, but in recent games against Liverpool, United and now Chelsea they've proved they can breathe at the highest of altitudes.

I'm still not sold on the goalkeeper, but in William Gallas, Cesc Fabregas and Emmanuel Adebayor they have a spine that's the envy of most teams in Europe.

Add in the industry of Mathieu Flamini and Alexander Hleb and the style of the likes of Gael Clichy, and you have a pretty potent recipe for success.

We all knew Wenger had great ability to find great young players cheaply. But now he's also moulding them into a powerful unit capable of challenging for a title. Surely that's the really hard part.

Chelsea on the other hand had their moments in this game, but despite recent results this just isn't the Mourinho vintage. They used to be a machine, now they're just men. Eminently beatable men.

It's not just losing Jose of course - the lack of Didier Drogba for the whole 90 minutes on Sunday and John Terry for the last 50 was key to the result.

We now know just how important those two are to any hopes of title glory at Stamford Bridge.

Andriy Shevchenko is a pale shadow of the man who used to strike fear in all European defences, and Claude Makelele is no longer the best protector of defences around.

Tal Ben Haim and Alex just just can't replace William Gallas and at the head of things Grant can't replace the swagger and arrogance that set Mourinho apart.

They're still too good for most teams in the Premier League, but in title terms that's no longer enough. For Arsenal though, it could be a different story.

Courtsey of F365.

OandO is fundamentally better than AP. Governance issues is my fear with OandO. Forward PE of <20.00 is good for OandO.

Nothing special about the bloc that AP is bidding for. Shell is selling its minority share (43% or so). Production from the block is about 21,000bopd. Not much if you ask me.

Until the sector is deregulated, watch with care.
Wanajo,am always impressed with your reach.the field is doing 17bopd and quickly declining but it has some other fields on the bloc.shells interest is 49.81%.the 2 blocs are also going together.AP WILL NOT GET IT. except something extraordinry happens.if thats what driving the price up,then i predict a correction soon.

I an strongly against anybody participating in he Orient Refinery's PP.Reasons.1)Profit margins in the down stream sector throughout the world is reducing everyday.Nigeria's halfhearted deregulation makes it worse.Have u wondered why the likes of Shell etc dont have refineries in Nigeria when they have in other countries? 2)Building a refinery is a very long term project.Your health(BP) might not last long enough for u to see the refinery work.Funding projects like this belong to institutional investors ,not individuals.PP's for banks etc can take ages b4 u get certificates, how long will it take a refinery?PP's are loosely or not even regulated. Please, your family still needs u.But if u have some money u can afford to throw away,u can take the risk.It might be woth it.

All the best man and don't forget to welcome him with shareholding in those banks i mentioned. I expect my son to be a stock market billionaire by the time he's 18 he's already shareholder in those banks and i can definitely say that Zenith and   Intercôntinental would still be going strong by the time he's of age

Good luck pal and keep us informed!

As per C+I Leasing i did a post a while just before the PO with a BUY recommendation so the position is still valid that the stock will do well is not in question  the more pressing issue is can you get to buy on the floor? this is easily a N10-12 stock in the next 3 months.Quite a large chunk of their profits came from theeir overseas opeartions in the business they acquired in  Ghana and i think they are also going into lease financing so all counts its a WINNER and add Japaul Oil to the list
What has changed about japaul?it wasnt a favorite b4.do u see them beating their forecast cos of their international reach?Didint EVEN ATTEMPT TO BUY PO.
On GTBank, the PE i have is above 21.any chance they might surpass their projected PAT?Anybody knows which quarter thay make a chunk of their money?

AG Leventis (Last Fiscal Year)

The turnover of the company increased by 1.43%, from N7 billion to N7.1 billion in 2006. profit after tax also increased from N343 million to N395 million in 2006, an increase of 14.9%. The full year EPS stood at N0.18, while a dividend of N0.10 was approved. The company is likely to begin manufacturing of generators here in Nigeria, and this will boost its profitability in the nearest future. It would interest you to know that Nigeria is the largest importer of generators in the world at present. The register closure date ids May 14, 2007.

So in Q-4, turnover grew from 5.08B to 7.1B but PAT only grew from 0.36B to 4B. Most of the PAT was reported in Q-3 in 2006 and 2007 but Q-4 recorded a PAT that is only about 25% of the PAT in Q-3.

To summarize, I think one can enter this short term because this growth may not be sustained in Q-4.
Kudos.U pumped it out.Living up to ur billing.
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by damoche07(m): 5:34pm On Nov 28, 2007
How did it miss our radar on this thread?Any reasons why their PAT target was underestimated b4.Any exceptional item or sale.Is the increase consistent with the earlier HY results?Noticed they had lesser turnover than last years and still made more more profit this year, Jargons i am saying.

Bottomline, will u jump on the horse if u have the chance?

AG Leventis.

I think the kid has already bolted though. With the results declared today, the forward PE is now looking like 13.29 even after max points today. The Q-3 PAT is almost the full year projected PAT!!

If you have the stock, hold on tight.

PEs on red for me means "Do not buy except there is other information or market news to justify paying this premium now" An example reason could be the rate of growth of the company and maybe the expectation of a significantly better result than is projected.  I am looking for undervalued stocks so my tolerance level for PEs is very low. I do not want to pay the fair price for a stock.  grin

UBNs price is responding to public perception. Investors feel the bank is not as dynamic as other first-tier banks and this is affecting the market sentiments. Also, there is meant to be foreign capital injection and the shares may be diluted still.

Frankly I will not stick with UBN and I offloaded a while ago. Just ask yourself what you think the price of UBA or Zenith will be if UBN becomes N55. So instead I stick with UBA or Zenith.

I think good insurance stocks should really be held till at least 2008. I don't expect the prices to dip to what they were 3 weeks ago. Most folks that took profit after the last bull run may have to pay a premium on their selling price to re-enter.

I think N4 is a reasonable target for Lasaco in the short term though.
wanaj0:
I will also consider the use of any interim (once it is not audited) report as projected. This is because the interim figures are also projections in their own right. I use only full audited result for trailing EPS or PE's calculation.

Note that projected figures are not necessarilly always the same. It depends on the assumption being made by the person doing the computation. I may decide to use a straight line profit growth while someone else may use another assumption. What you need is a validation of the assumptions used. Don't work towards getting similar answers because it is not rocket science. It is a subjective analysis.
Thanks everybody.I mean both offshore and onshore nairalanders.Expect more

After the scolding by our own easimoni-who incidentally is on a self declared holiday-i have started learning.I have seen the spreadsheet.Do i take an average of the PE's in all the companies sector as the average PE in that sector. The column for trailing PE is blank and u guys talk about it a lot.Is it not that relevant. If its relevant, whats the difference btwn trailing and projected.

I'm very well read on all the necessary technicals on stock trading.
My advice to our " OFFSHORE NAIRALANDERS " is to do some more teaching and not shooting 10bn outstanding and i'm sorry 5mins later.
Tell people how to calculate P/E(Forward or trailing).
When you come up with an eps of 1.02 you can teach a few to fish on their own by saying (N9,587,906,137 / outstanding 9,399,907,978)= 1.02.
TEACH THEM TO FISH.

Hope you still remember, wait for UBA to cool temper small.Let it cool its temper to N52-N53.They did not release payment date.Month wants to end.
If it starts flying at today's starting price of N56.40,then it'll be N65 by friday. That's too fast.No room to chop. That will not be following the rules of the game. You need to change to gear 2 before you move to gear 5. Same with oceanic.
The info i got on this intercontinental is an interim dividend in the offing. For those who bought intercontinental at N25.00,we're approaching 25% based on my computer readings now.Thursday looks like a good exit date along with Mutual Benefit if you bought at N3.00 (so my pc tells me).
