DISTRACTED

It was never an option for me,
Focused on winning bread and providing the meat,
On a straight cause, my heart travelled.
Not willing to make any side stops along the journey.

Unexpectedly this image flashed across my gaze,
My neck stiffly turned in the direction of my distraction
Boom! I was off track, with my head viewing from the position of my feet, and my feet up straight like a head.

Oh! How did I lose focus?
The me who talks with me in the inside,
Constantly presenting the image of this ravishing figure on the screen of my inner eye.

All I wanted was to bring into my reality this ravishing image, sitting next to me as I resume my forey.
But like a mirage, the more I try to reach out,
The more this "all I want in my life" keeps running further.

All the man living within me could say was,
May be not today, but if you ever look my way,
I'll be right here to catch your gaze.
Religion / Dear Brother/sister Spiritus, by damoneymag(m): 1:42pm On Jul 17, 2022
Dear Brother/Sister Spiritus : It doesn't just end at being born again.

While the most beautiful decision you can ever make is to give your life over to Jesus Christ, you've still got some work to do in order to grow.

You have to complement your newly embraced faith with good character. Jesus would not force his way into an aspect of your life, if you do not invite him.

You know where you have character defects, let him in on them and he'll partner with you to straighten those defects.

Now that you're feeling all morally excellent, you have to consciously seek knowledge. Don't be a tongue talking, morally upright ignoramus, who can be easily deceived and tossed around. Be studious. Acquire requisite knowledge.

Hmm.. Okay now, knowledgeable tongue talking morally upright child of God. E no easy. Please at this point, take it easy. Resist the urge to show off. The reason why you sought knowledge is for your growth and not to intimidate other Christians and make them look as though they're second class Christians while you're deputy Jesus. Control yourself.

If you're able to do this. Great! But know this, it's not easy to know so much of scripture and divine revelations. You tend to want to impact those around you as quickly as possible. And most often than not, their responds is always slow. Please, brother and sister, be patient with them. Endure, they'll eventually come around.

As much as possible, be nice. Don't be too spiritual that you become unapproachable. Always angry in the spirit, that it has to translate into physical aggressiveness. Abeg! Calm down. You're still a brother and a sister and we all are still here on earth. Be nice to us.

Finally dear brother and sister Spiritus, stay humble and be loving. God resists the proud and gives grace to the humble. Pride first, and then the fall. Stay humble and be loving.

Now listen! Yes you listen to me. If you're lacking in any of these steps to attaining spiritual growth, don't just put this off, amend your ways. God's standards will never be watered down to suit anybody. Not even you.
Religion / Nah Who Join Us As We Dey Serve People Fish With Bread, Go Carry Full Basket Go by damoneymag(m): 1:32pm On Jul 17, 2022
Nah who join us as we dey serve people fish with bread, go carry full basket go house.

For the blessing is in the service and not in being served.

You know the story about Jesus feeding 5000 men in the new testament right? But most of us overlook the role the disciples played at that event.

The bible didn't give the figure of women and children present, but only told us 5000 men were fed. So we'll work with that figure.

This means one disciple fed and average of 417 persons or more.

Yeah! Read that again.

417 persons or more were served by one person. Even your average "owambe" can't boast of 417 persons in attendance. Now imagine just one person serving them all.

Oh! how stressed out and exhausted they would have been.

To tell you the truth, service In the house of God is work.

You heard me, Serious work.

At time you'll feel as though you're over working yourself, stressed and even exhausted. And when you look at what you've had to forgo just to be able to render the service in God's house, you wonder again if it's really worth it.

It gets worse when you have to serve people who are below you in all ramifications of life, because they came to worship. Hmm!

But here is the gist! After the disciples were done serving, the bible said, there were 12 baskets of left over. Was it a mere coincidence that 12 disciples served and 12 basket full of fish and bread were left?

I don't think so

For every one fish and bread you serve people in sincerity in God's vineyard in whatever capacity, God will surely reward you with a basket full.

God is not a slave driver and your labour of love will never go unrewarded.

Don't forget, the blessing is in the service, not in being served. Make up your mind to join the work force in your local assemble. For the blessing of the servant is always in multiples of the served

Politics / What If Iswap/bokoharam, Takes Over ASO ROCK by damoneymag(m): 4:49pm On Jul 07, 2022
What if ISWAP/Bokoharam takes over ASO ROCK.

The terrorists are getting bolder of late, and it should worry every well meaning Nigerian.

One of the major issues raised during the 2015 campaign by the then opposition party was the terror attacks carried out in the federal capital. Wuse 2 bombing comes to mind, and the fear that the terrorists may get bold enough to attempt an attack on the seat of power, ASO ROCK

But of late. Firstly, it was the massacre of worshippers in the church at Owo, ondo state, and just yesterday, it was Kuje prison, and before that, it was the President's convoy that was attacked

These guys are really venturing out of their familiar terrain

What worries me the most, is how they effectively outwit all our intelligence agencies and security outfits, stroll in, launch their attacks unconfronted, and walk away.

It is clear, these guys are getting bolder by the day; and these attacks show Nigeria is gradually becoming a failed state. The attacks might as well just be a dress rehearsals for bigger attacks to come, not leaving out an attack on ASO ROCK

Try imagine what life under the rulership of ISWAP/BOKOHARAM will look like

Oh yes! Even me, I just shouted God forbid.

Unimaginable horrow would be unleashed on citizens and our development as a nation, rolled back 60years

I hereby call on the Commander-in-chief of the armed president Mohammadu Buhari to man up and treat this threat with the seriousness it deserves. Merely being disappointed in the intelligence agencies for not foreseeing the attack on Kuje prison is not enough. Heads should roll, accountability demanded, and the service chilefs sitting on hot seats by now.

We can not afford to let Nigeria fall into the hands of terrorists.

At this point, it's safe to say "every man call on your God" unbehalf of our dear country. Everything seems to have failed.
Culture / Imbibing The Western Culture by damoneymag(m): 3:25pm On Mar 04, 2022
The westernized Nigerians

Western education has proven invaluable to the overall devopment of Nigeria. It has empowered us as a people and placed us on a pedestal from which we can view the world and contribute our quota to the betterment of mankind.

More than just imbide the western education, we've gone ahead to adopt western life style as well. Now speaking our native language is frowned at, as children are forced to speak Queen's English as a way to show civility. Intelligence is now measured by your beautiful accent and good grammatical construction as if before the arrival of whites, we weren't intelligent.

Worse still, our mode dressing have been so weaternised, you'll wonder if the up and coming generation still remembers their culture and root. Things that were frowned at and seen as abominable, have become the norm now, all under the guise of trends and "times we live in".

By simply observing, you'll notice 70% of our youth now wear ear rings and dread lucks, multiple neck chains like hip hop artist and many more. What's even more disturbing is young mother plaiting their sons hair and piercing their eyes as infants. For Christ's sake, how did get to this point? Why are trying so hard to become more western than the westerners? Why is our native names and way of life suddenly seen as archaic and crude?

We have to nip this wave of western rascality pervading our youth in the bud, else generations to come would know nothing about our identity as a people and what we truely stand for. Let be Africans with our chest and stop measuring intelligence using western gauges.
Politics / Birth Control - What I Think by damoneymag(m): 10:17pm On Mar 02, 2022
Birth control in Nigeria- what I think

The world bank data, has quoted Nigerian population to be around 216million people, and has projected the population to cross the 300million threshold by 2030. This projection is based on a consistent popolution growth rate of slightly above 2.5%

While this shouldn't be a problem, given that there are so many other countries with much higher growth rate figures, Nigeria's dependency ration (children between 0-15 plus old aged from 64 above compared to the working population) according to the world bank stands at 86%. This simply means 86% of our population is depending on 14%(those who are working). This crushing weight of dependants on the working population, calls for serious concern. Little wonder why we are still the poverty capital of the world.

Figures from UNICEF, shows that 46% of our population are children between the ages of 0-15. The number of children between the ages of 0-5 stands at about 31million, and annually, 7million children are born. These figures are seriously an underestimation, as most rural dwellers don't even use hospitals while giving birth and hence no record is kept.

While Nigerians are always in the mood to roll out drums and celebrate when ever a child is born, believing "nah God dey give pikin and nah him go help us train am", this has put Nigeria at a critical position. With unemployment rate for youth standing at 42.5%, underemployment at 22.8% and general unemployment at 33.3%( an all time high), truely we would agree with Obasanjo who said," Nigeria is sitting on a keg of gun powder". It is no longer a question of if it will blow up in our faces, it is now a question of when?

Looking at this worrisome stats, I think the government has to come up with a way to check this population growth, and I propose a legislation, that the number of children a person can have, should be directly proportional to his income( net income) unemployed persons and people with no stable source of income, should have no business producing children. Anyone earning below 50 thousand naira monthly should not be considering having children yet until his financial position improves. Those earning 50 thousand to 100 thousand, a child should do and from a hundred thousand upwards, two children and a ceiling of three children no matter the economic strata one finds oneself.

Enough of giving birth and expecting others to train them. Such irresponsibility should be nipped in the board. Any one who gives birth to children beyond his financial capability, should and arrested. Massive education and campaign should be carried out amongst the rural dwellers as well so as to enlighten them on the effect to over population on the economy.

Until then, the number out of school children will continue to soar, while child labour on the rise.

Religion / Glory In That Your Infirmity. by damoneymag(m): 2:53am On Oct 10, 2021
Thriving in prison

There comes a time in one's life when everything seems to grind to a halt. Nothing seems to be going one's way, one's life seems to be wasting away, while is seems like everyone else is making progress, and everywhere one turns, seems to be a dead end. And no matter how hard one works or tries, one seems to be going round in circles. A case all motion but no movements.

Those are times when frustration seems to be building up, anxiety is at its all time high, and eventually, gradual descent into depression.

This is a period of waiting that everyone must pass through in life. Remember the children of Israel on their way to the promise land, at intervals, God'll ask them to stay put at certain places for an undisclosed number of days until he gives further instructions.

Abraham had to wait in the land of Haran for seventy five years, until God told him to pack his things and move to a land he'll show him.

Jacob had to flee to his uncle Laban's place to escape from his brother Esau, there he hibernated for over 20years serving his uncle as a Shepherd

Joseph was put in prison, with no hope of getting out. Days turned into weeks, weeks turned into months and months into years. Yet, the bible recorded even though Joseph was in prison, he thrived.

Jocob while at his uncle's thrived and gathered wives and cattles for himself while slaving for his uncle. Even Jesus before he started his ministry, had to wait for 30years. In those years of waiting, he thrived.

Waiting periods aren't palatable, but the truth of the matter is, no amount of worries frustration, anger and blaming will get you out.

You've got to embrace it and make the most of it. You've got to thrive in that prison. Make the best use of the time, enjoy the stagnancy and use it for your self development.

Don't lay there sulking, blaming, crying and cursing the day you were born. None of that will get you out of the waiting period. Listen, it only a period and it would expire.

When Joseph's time came, nothing else could stop his shine, rather he shined during famine. When it was Jacob's time, Esau became a Tootles bulldog.

Get this, on your way to your promise land, God'll ask you to wait, until he gives further instructions and clarifications.

When your time comes, nothing will be able to stop your shine. But in the time being, rejoice in that prison, be joyful even in that tribulation, thrive in that stagnancy, glory in that infirmity. God did not forget you. He only asked you to wait. So make up everyday and live your best life yet, in what ever your hand finds doing, do to the best of your ability.
Jobs/Vacancies / High Rate Of Unemployment: My Opinion. by damoneymag(m): 3:22pm On Sep 16, 2021
High unemployment rate: My opinion

Current unemployment rate in Nigeria as at quarter 4 2020, stands at 33.3% according to the Nigerian bureau of statistics NBS. This simply means more than half of our working population which stands at 69.7millions persons are either outrightly doing nothing of working jobs that can not guarantee their daily survival in this hostile economy of ours. This unemployment rate is an all time high and Nigeria is only second to Namibia when it comes to unemployment.

I don't think this information should come as a surprise to anyone in his/her right senses. But the baffling thing about thing is, the government have chosen to play the ostrich and engaging in cosmetic approach to solving this menacing problem.

The fact remains our educational system and curriculum, are tailored to create job seekers not job creators. A Nigerian graduate after national service, is totally clueless on how to survive without a nine to five job. Hence we see all kinds of mediocre businesses spring up here and there that end up folding up after a year or two.

There has to be a deliberate, purposeful and sincere move to root out this menacing giant from our society before it brings it to it's knees. There should be a total rejig and overhaul of our Academic curriculums, tailored uniquely to prepare young people and equip them with requisite skills needed to survive outside the four walls of a classroom.

Entrepreneurship and skill acquisition should be taught from secondary up to tatiary Level of education. It should be made compulsory in WAEC and the exams should be exhibition based and not theory based. Every student upon graduation from secondary school should have a vocational skill, as well as an IT skill. By IT I don't mean how to turn on and off a computer as we are seeing today, I mean graphics, coding, hacking and to mention but a few.

The government should establish well equipped IT centers were secondary school student spend minimum of 3months a year, learning an IT skill. The school calendar should be designed to incorporate industrial training and skill acquisition. And this centers should be provided by the government.

Our subject should be tailored uniquely to solve our problem and not spending years studying things that have zero real life applications or relevance in today's society. Until then, more POS boots will keep spring up here and there and singlets and boxers vendors, will keep flooding our timeline on social media.

Sports / Donny Van De Beek: A Lesson To Be Learnt. by damoneymag(m): 10:34pm On Sep 06, 2021
Donny Van de Beek: A lesson to be learnt.

A vibrant young promising midfielder, he was the man to watch out for during his days at Ajax Fc. His pulsating display in the 2018 - 2019 champions league campaign with Ajax that saw them get to the semi final, made Donny the coveted bride with top flight teams now gunning to his signature. Manchester united came along, one of the biggest clubs in the world, with great players like Bruno Fernandez and world cup winner Paul pogba. What more could Donny ask for? Here is the opportunity of a life time to play in the most prestigious league in the world for one of the biggest teams in the world. As well as have the opportunity to learn from great midfielders. Who wouldn't jump at that prospect.

Finally Donny is unveiled as a united player and a new chapter is opened. Young Donny is visited with the reality of the possibility of not being able to break into the first eleven. Bench warming becomes his new playing position for the club. But Donny will not give up without a fight. He resumes for preseason earlier than required just to get in shape and hopefully fight for a place in the starting eleven. Hope rising, he played all preseason games, the season resumes and his back to his bench warming role yet again. How quick dreams turn to nightmares, and what was like a breakthrough is fast turning into bondage.

Transfer window is still open, poor Donny seeks for a loan move at least if the club is not willing for an outright sale. But still the club blocked all possibilities.

I can imagine poor Donny sitting in his new office(bench) thinking; was bigger really better? Won't he had been better off if he remained at a smaller club, Ajax? Does exposure guarantee growth and development? And as if that wasn't enough, his place at the national team of Netherlands was taken away from poor Donny due to lack of sufficient game time at the club. What next could hit the poor lad and what exactly did he do to deserve this kind of fate?

I hope he doesn't end up being sold to QPR or worst still some Turkish club. Let remember DVB in our prayers

The famine of Samaria: Nigeria's gradual descent into cannibalism

For those not familiar with the story of the famine in the land of Samaria, as written in the Holy Bible, Samaria was besieged by the army of Syria led by king Benhadad. Samaria was plunged into great famine and the cost of everything including staple food shot above the roof, beyond the reach of the average Samaritan.

I'm pretty sure this sounds like what Nigeria is currently going through. It is no news that everything has quadrupled in price and staple food is continually becoming too expensive for the man on the street to afford.
Families are suffering, hunger is at its all time high. Never have we had it this bad in this country, nothing seems affordable any more.

Borders have been closed and food import banned, herdsmen have sacked farmers from their farms and our currency devalued, thereby making export of the little available food more profitable than selling at our local markets.

Like in the case of Samaria, where women started killing their children for food, if nothing is done and quickly, cannibalism may soon sneak into Nigerian homes. The suffering is becoming too unbearable and people may soon start behaving like animals.

And yes just like the evil king Benhadad, our dear evil genius Buhari sits with his legs crossed toothpick in hand, picking his teeth, while those who's lives he promised to better, die of hunger and starvation. May God save Nigeria.

Politics / The Leprous Finger Called FFK by damoneymag(m): 8:16pm On Apr 03, 2021
The leprous finger called FFK

One word to describe FFK is fierce, when he comes for those he perceives as enemies, he doesn't spare words to completely tear then apart. So as well is his support, he goes to all lengths to show loyalty and conjuring all kind biblical quotes to show he has the backing of the heavens in his support. You definitely would want to be supported than opposed by this fire spitting personality.

As some what of a trend, he seems to be pitching his tent in very wrong camps or may be every camp the chooses, suddenly becomes doomed to fail. This has been evidenced in the last couple of years, and I'll like us to take a walk down memory lane.

In the run up to 2015 general election, FFK was a vocal supporter of the PDP and the then President GEJ. He reeled out lots and lots of venomous write up painting Buhari and the APC in the worst possible light. He went as far a likening them to the Antichrist and the forces of darkness. GEJ eventually lost that election and the APC emerged victorious. Few years into the tenor, he kept up his criticism which felt good seeing how bad things became after APC took over the affairs of the country. In fact, he was referred to as a prophet who saw tomorrow by some press people. Long story short, as of today, FFK is a member of the APC he once fiercely criticised and called unprintable names in the media. What a character!

Another roaring event, was the reelection of president Donald Trump of America. Once again, FFK was at his best doing what he knows how to do best. He called Trump the messiah while once again painting the Democrats and their candidate Joe Biden as demonic, with satanic agenda for the earth while conjuring biblical quotations to lend credence to his assertions. Once again Trump lost and eventually when he started dragging his feet on letting go of the office, FFk cheered him on calling him a lion and the agent to God for planet earth. Eventually things starting taking a disgraceful turn and Trump handed over. I sincerely wonder how FFK sleeps at night.

Covid19 came with its own drama and many people started churning out several conspiracy theories as to its origin and the effect It will have on the planet. Our dear brother FFK wasn't left out of the circle of theorists. Post covid19, he insisted the vaccine that was being manufactured and administered, had sinister agenda and people should not take the vaccine. But alas, our there brother once again made a 360 turn and has got himself vaccinated after misleading so many.

Should I rightly conclude that whatever king FFK supports (lays his leprous fingers on), ends up in failure ( leprous) his marriage inclusive?

And what does this portend for our dear GYB whom FFK has once again thrown his leprous weight behind in his ambition to becoming the president to of our dear country?

I hope GYB sees the trend and keeps the character FFK outside his camp like was done in the biblical days of the children of Israel to people with uncleanness such as leprosy

Politics / ESN: When Wisdom Begets Foolishness by damoneymag(m): 8:49pm On Mar 26, 2021
ESN : when wisdom begets foolishness

The Eastern security network, has been all over the news from the very day it was proposed by Nnamdi Kanu the leader of the proscribed IPOB(terrorist) group. Many have questioned the rational behind the "terrorist" tag attached to the group, but that's a discussion for another day.

Looking critically at the purpose for the creation of the group, which is to protect the rural dwellers from the menace of killer herdsmen rampaging the country, indeed is a noble object. But then, how well has it achieved this objective, and at what cost?

Yes, the south east needed protection and creating a regional security outfit was "the way to go" just like other regions in the country, but floating it under the umbrella of a terrorist tagged IPOB group by NK, sealed the fate of the group.

Looking deeper, how have they faired dislodging killer herdsmen? Rather upon it's creation we saw young men wielding RPGs and Aks and one wonders if there is no sinister agenda behind its formation.

As of today all we read is army killing young men in their tens. While some claim those killed aren't ESN member, but innocent young men, it has become obvious that ESN creation has done more harm than Good to the region. Travelling in the east has become more stressful due to the outrageous amount to military checkpoints one will encounter per kilometer stretch of the road, all thanks to IPOB and their ESN.

Rather than secure lives, they've only succeeded in endangering the lives of young innocent men who get caught up in all these brouhaha, leading to loss of lives of able bodied youth, as well as making the lives of the people in general uneasy.

Now, one can categorically say that ESN is an I'll thought out creation, which was hurriedly floated by its delusional leader who wants to win the supremacy battle between himself and the governors of the region.

GYB again!
Not until recently, I've only paid attention to side talks and the loud noise of those who never see any good in GYB. They forget that the "g" in his initials also stands for "good". Haha.

A young lad came to me jubilant with the news of him just gaining admission. Like every other big bro will do, I asked which institution and he said "university of Osara" I was a little bit confused, as I've always known osara to house the school of preliminary studies campus of Kogi state polytechnic of whom I am an alumni. I congratulated him and later on decided to do a little check on my own. Alas, KSP campus Osara has be converted to a university, "confluence university of science and technology". What a fit!

GYB is gradually but steadily cresting his name in gold as the best ever to lead Kogi state. This is not me bootlicking but mesmerized by the giant achievements of GYB and while at it, maintaining decorum, staying focused and shaming detractors with his achievement. For me and the many young lads who will get quality education and as well those who will get employed, just by this singular creation, we'll say GYB is God sent to Kogi state. You may disagree, that's your cup of coffee, but the facts on ground are so obvious that even the blind will see them clearly.
Whole heartedly i support GYB to PMB

Why GYB
History has proven over and again that you don’t request that power be handed over to you, you wrestle it out from its current holders. This being said, let us take a short mental trip to the political theatre of Kogi state pre GYB regime.

Kogi state’s political stage was completely dominated by the Igala tribe who so happened to be the majority though. For over a decade they called all the shorts politically and made sure no other tribe saw the light of day with regards to getting to the highest position in the state (governorship). Yes many will say GYB got there by luck, may be true, but then, I think he fought his way and the heavens blessed his fighting effort with beautiful success. You might think otherwise, that’s your opinion.

Today the political dynamics of the state has changed, and the one time owners of the state have been relegated to their zone. Winning the second term in office, was the game changer, it sent a strong message and set rolling a sequence that might never get altered in a long while. Now we know that it is possible for anybody to be governor post GYB. Now that is no little fit.

Coming to the national stage, I was and still is a staunch supporter of the PDP. Yeah, you heard me. I supported Goodluck, and Atikulated in 2019 but then, PMB kept his position. It might seem a rather radical shift in ideology to say I am all for GYB to PYB, but it is what it is. Now to my question “why GYB”
He has proven over and again his credentials when it comes to wrestling power from the entitled political class. And right now we need nothing but that to be replicated at the national level. You’ll be deluding yourself if you think for a second that the current crop of old politician will relinquish power simply because you ask them to. We need to wrestle them and drag power from them like we saw happen in Mali. I see no better person to lead this drive than a man who has done it before GYB. Is he the best around? I really don’t care, but one thing I know is once power get wrestled out, we can then start talking of getting more refined gentlemen to man the highest office in the land. But right now, GYB is the only man with the courage, and the backing of the heavens to tear down the political wall of Jerico, the older generation have built up for themselves.

Every right thinking youth should support this project and let’s get power out of the hands of this greedy old political pharaohs that have refused to let go of this office.
I SUPPORT GYB TO PYB
