I think Buhari was in support of Bukola that's the reason he didn't stop the inauguration yesterday...Baba, has been hurting Tinubu since his inauguration "I belong to everybody and nobody" was meant for Tinubu. There should be a reason why Baba called other APC senators and Bukola stayed away and wasn't scolded and knowing fully well that was the day of election....... Its still politics my friends....A game for the masses to observe |

Suya as it is being made and sold in many places should not be eaten because of the risks and dangers associated. I will try as much as possible to explain this in very simple and clear terms. This is to enable even a layman read and understand the message of this post. All I just want you to know are the risks and dangers associated with eating just any Suya. If you are reading this, you probably know what Suya is. But by way of definition, Suya is a spicy skewered meat which is a popular food item in various parts of Nigeria and is enjoyed as a delicacy in many parts of West Africa. It is traditionally prepared by the Hausa people of northern Nigeria, Cameroon, Niger, and some parts of Sudan. Forget the dirty environment and poor or zero hygiene conditions in which Suya is made and handled in many places in Nigeria, there are other dangers that are inherent in the consumption of Suya – those that many would never know unless they are Food professional or have come across an article like this that explains it. Suya and Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) You know when they say Cigarette kills? It is majorly due to the PAHs they contain. Many Suya sellers make their Suya by burning all sort of woods and charcoal to make their fire. Some even throw in such things as plastics to make their ember burn brighter in order to cook the Suya meat. Many of these materials burning under the meat contain these Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons — and do you know what these PAHs do in the body after enough consumption or exposure? 1. Some PAHs are chemical carcinogens (cancer-causing compounds) while seven PAH compounds have also been classified as probable human carcinogens. 2. Some PAH compounds are mutagens. Mutagen is a physical or chemical agent that changes the genetic material (DNA). 3. According to a finding, reported in an article on health.usnews.com, high prenatal exposure to PAH is associated with lower IQ and childhood asthma. 22-year-old Miss Adetayo Adeyemo, who hails from Oyo East LGA of Oyo State, was the cynosure of all eyes at the recent induction of 19 physiotherapy graduands trained by the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan into the physiotherapy profession. She emerged as the best graduating student in the Department of Physiotherapy among the five students that graduated with first class honours, comprising one male and four female. The induction, chaired by the Vice Chancellor, Prof Isaac Adewole, who was represented by the vice chancellor (Admin), Prof Emilolorun Ayelari, was held at Paul Hendrickse Lecture Theatre, University College Hospital (UCH) premises, Ibadan. Miss Adeyemo, spoke on the secret of her success. According to her, “Actually, the first thing I would like to say is that it was God. I could not have made it and I don’t know how I would have made it if not for God; that was the first factor. Then, the second factor has to do with motivations from parents, family and friends. I am an advocate of excellence. I wanted excellence and I went for it. This was made possible by God. I am a child of God and I believe so much in God. When I was on campus, I was committed to my books, fellowship and I served God the way He wanted me to. I am a Baptist. But I attended UCH Christian Fellowship. At one time, I was the Evangelism Secretary and at another time a Sisters’ Leader. My dad is a quantity surveyor and my mummy a retired vice principal of a school.” “I am to proceed on internship now. Thereafter, God will take charge of my next move in life.” Adetayo’s mother, Mrs. Juliana Adeyemo, could not hide her joy, saying: “I feel highly elated and I return all glory to God because it is not our own making. It is the making of God. It is God that has granted our baby the grace to go though the course and excel. It is our prayer that God will use this as a stepping stone for her to greater things in life.” According to her, Adetayo has been a meticulous person from childhood. She explained that her daughter has been highly dedicated since she was in Nursery One. “Adetayo is very religious and she has her backing in God. She is the last child of the family of four children,” s he said. Mrs. Adeyemo disclosed that the first and second children of the family are currently Ph.D students abroad and in Nigeria, studying Chemistry and Animal Science respectively. The third child, she disclosed, is a medical laboratory scientist, who is currently serving as a youth corps member in Kwara State. She also described her husband, Mr. Adebayo Adeyemo, as a disciplinarian, who would not spare the rod to spoil the child. The family, she said, worshipped at the Ebenezer Baptist Church, Jabata in Oyo town.

The Ndigbo community in Lagos has lost an icon. A Popular business mogul from Imo State, Mr Henry Okechukwu Dimoji widely called Okey Dimoji has passed on to glory. He lost his life on Thursday the 30th of April 2015 in Mile 2 area of Apapa Lagos. According to family sources, he attended a wake keeping ceremony with his wife on Wednesday and passed a night at a hotel in Festac. In the morning, the couple were heading to their home in Maryland Estate but on getting to Mile 2, they met a group of policemen who mounted an illegal roadblock to collect their usual Egunje (bribe). They stopped Mr Dimoji and ordered him to come out of his car but the deceased begged them to allow him park properly instead of staying in the middle of the road. One of the policemen reportedly brought out a gun and threatened to shoot the deceased if tried to move the car. The now late businessmen then yielded to their command and stepped out of the car to open his booth. While walking down towards the booth, a speeding fuel tanker hit him on the thigh and dragged him along the road. On spotting what happened, the policemen took to their heels as his wife, Linda shouted for help. Family sources said a good Samarithan and the truck driver carried the deceased to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. 2 of the 4 policemen who mounted the illegal road block were arrested after the wife of the deceased reported them at a nearby police station. The two others are still at large. Members of Okey Dimoji family from Enugu and Imo states were also said to be in the house while his kids, 13-year-old Wesley and 11-year-old Bryan (11) are said to have been relocated to a neighbors’ apartment with no one ready to tell them that their father is late. His aged mother living in Enugu is equally said to be shrouded from the death of her son. Aged 48, Okey Dimoji is survived by 2 children, a wife and mother. May his soul rest in peace (amen).
