The creation of the World Wide Web (1989) and web browsers (early 1990s) gave ordinary people easy ways of getting around the Internet. Over the past fifteen years, millions of different websites have been set up, giving people the chance to shop, do business, play, learn and communicate online. Over the same period it has become much easier, cheaper and faster to get online in order to do these things. Now more than 30% of the global population have access to the Internet. Continent-wise, this breaks down as: Europe: 58.3%, North America 78.3%, Latin America 36.2%, Africa 11.4%, Asia 23.8% and Oceania 60.1%. These figures are growing all the time, as technology designed to access the Internet becomes both more mobile and much cheaper to produce. The arrival of the Internet has vastly changed the way in which people search and access information. News travels more quickly than ever, and current affairs can be discussed all over the world instantaneously via forums, blogs, and social networks. Search engines like Google and Wikipedia have now become ubiquitous starting points for researching anything from minor queries to academic reports. Many people also maintain social links through the Internet with services such like Facebook, Skype, and Flickr, to name but a few. Research in the UK has shown that the average adult spends around 22 hours 15 minutes online each month. Some believe the Internet is dominating the lives of its users. Official NYSC Camp Registration Requirements: 1. CALL UP LETTER: This is a vital part of camp registration and the only evidence that you are a prospective corps member (colloq. Corper, or Otondo) and you are not impersonating anyone. This will be taken from and not returned to you. So if at all you even forget you luggage (lol) never forget this. Tip: DO NOT LAMINATE IT! And keep it like its your life. I know someone who was sent back because she forgot hers. Also someone who had to beg and beg before his letter was collected because he laminated his own copy. So please avoid all these stress and make enough copies of this letter. 2. Registration Documents: Foreign graduates should take along important registration documents used in registering at Abuja. —> The List here 3. Final Year Student Identity CARD 4. Notification/Statement of Result from School 5. PASSPORT PHOTOGRAPHS: This is very important. Take as many as you can, about 20 in red backgrounds. You would need them at every registration point mostly. Then those of you who would likely redeploy or join one group or the other in camp, you would need more than others. 6. PHOTOCOPIES OF YOUR DOCUMENTS: Now make about 5-10 copies of every document required. There would be photocopiers in camp at mammy market but trust me, it is double the price and it saves time. Tip: The forms that will be handed to you are very easy to fill. Attach your passport where necessary and fill them correctly. After your registration, you will be issued with your State Code Number. This will be like your PIN throughout your Service Year. PART 2: 7. CERTIFICATES/LICENSES: For Doctors, Pharmacists, Nurses & Lab Scientists, take along your proof of certification. 8. STATIONERY: PEN, PAPER, GUM, TIPPEX. Yeah this saves time and lots of unnecessary begging. Tip: Some camps do seize staplers at the gate during check-in. So do not forget to include pins in your stapler if you are taking that along. Tip: After getting your NYSC State Code Number, you can proceed to claim your NYSC Kit and Mattress after which you can proceed to get a Room. After you have gotten your kit and secured a place in the hostels, you can settle down and you are good to go to start the Military parades. Now, Your NYSC kit should contain 1 NYSC Crested Vest, A pair of Khaki Trousers, Cap and Jacket, 2 White T-shirts, 2 Pairs of Knickers, 2 pairs of green-stripped Stockings, A Pair of Orange Jungle Boots and One Pair of White Converse. A “Belt” is also included. DAILY NEEDS: 9. ROUND-NECKED WHITE T-SHIRTS: This is an essential outfit in camp in fact in most camps this is the only allowed cloth to be worn throughout your 3 weeks. Even to church, you might not be allowed to wear colored cloths. You would be given 2 pairs of white t-shirts at camp to just fulfill all righteousness which surely would never be your size especially our very slim and small otondo in size . So you can bring extra pairs (6). Why? Because you probably wont have time to wash during the week after being stressed out from the parades and Man-O-War drills. Tip: Do not carry more than 2 pairs of colored clothes because you wont need it. 10. WHITE SHORTS: I beg you please do bring yours. you would also be given 2 pairs of shorts which are really poor in material. They tear easily and it can be annoying. So my dear Otondos bring like 4 pairs of shorts. Trust me also you wont like to wash everyday, so bring enough to last you like 3 days so that you wont be stranded. 11. PLAIN WHITE SNEAKERS/TENNIS SHOES: This is a very important outfit. you would also be given an ugly pair of low quality white tennis shoes customized for NYSC. It’s either you are not given your size although you can find someone with your size and swap. But after the first wash it starts tearing. So just buy yours (white). They also sell this in camp, so in case you are not able to get you could buy in camp just carry extra cash for that because the price would be higher – as with everything in Mammy – because they know you have no choice than to buy. Now, If you happen to camp during the rainy season (Batch ‘B’ & ‘C’), get white rubber sneakers/boots especially if you’re posted to the Southern part of the country . The parade fields/ mammy market might be messed up after the rains. You will get this in camp. 12. WHITE SOCKS: Just get extra pairs. 13. MOSQUITO TREATED NET: You would do not want to fall sick in camp from malaria. Just bring yours. Also bring ropes you would use to hang it. I also used mine as a room to protect my box and properties from thieves and also from some insects and ants. 14. BASIC DRUGS: Like Panadol or paracetamol, medicine for your allergies, menstrual pain relief drug, nausea relief drugs, antibiotics e.t.c. The camp clinic is sometimes inadequately stocked with drugs so help yourself. True story – A corper from the previous batch donated at least a million Naira worth of medicine to our (Lagos) camp clinic, and barely a few days later, they claimed to have run out of medicine. 15. PADLOCKS: [BRING or BUY from Mammy] Please lock your boxes and bags to avoid regrets and tears. I know someone who lost more than 5 items including his two phones – like he’s the only one in camp. 16. WAIST POUCH: /Fanny pack/Bum bag (or for the more fashion-conscious, a cross-body purse). The bum bags are more popular because they won’t bang against you when you’re active and your hands are free to do whatever. You need it to carry your money, phone, small valuables, pens, etc around with you at all times. You should sleep with it too. 17. BEVERAGE: The camp will supply u with “Tea- water” so you can make tea when u need to! 18. DETTOL : This is very, very essential. Firstly the bathrooms can be very annoying and dirty and more importantly, you would not like to have infection from camp. Bad idea. Depending on your camp, the water can be dirty. Most people always have reaction to it. 19. DETERGENT: [BUY from Mammy.] Again, this reduces the amount of load you’re bringing into camp. However, if you’re lucky the mammy market will have vendors offering laundry services! It costs about N50 per item, N100 for your khaki trousers or shirt, extra N50 if you want your items pressed. Tip: The Bucket: Buy this in Mammy. Don’t stress yourself taking one to Camp, which you’re probably going to leave behind after 3 weeks. Toiletries: Toilet Paper, Sanitary Pad, soap dish etc. BUY in Mammy. 20. TOWELS 21. A PAIR OF SLIPPERS: [BRING or BUY] 22. Bed sheets, Pillow Cases and A Pillow. You could also get pillow from mammy market to reduce load. Tip: Mattresses will be provided by NYSC. It is best to “double up” with the mattresses, as they are about 1 to 2 inches thick. Lol. 23. HANDKERCHIEF. There will be BUCKETS of sweating. Do yourself a favor. 24. FLASHLIGHT OR RECHARGEABLE LAMPS: [BRING or BUY] Most camps, or in fact, all camps do not give light except at a specific time of the day. It’s very essential especially at night when you need to use the bathroom, early in the morning when preparing for morning drills and meditations and at night in case you need to do anything. At the mammy market, there is always light till they close, usually 10pm except on days like the Camp Fire Night. You can charge them there at a little fee. Tip: You will be fed three times a day in camp but I must not lie to you, the food there is nothing to write home about. They can be nice on few occasions like Sundays, but most days, they are poor. If you are someone who loves to eat good food, make provisions for your own food. You should get some fast foods along, some breakfast cereals and beverages. You should also hold extra cash to eat at the Mammy market. You will get good meals there. 25. PLATE, BOWL AND CUP: [BRING or BUY] For eating. Important for those who intend on eating Camp food. 26. Some form of entertainment: Novels – for those who get bored easily, please carry some. And for guys PSP or chess. also iPod your and MP3 players for audiophiles. 27. Your Ray-Ban sunglasses for the sun. And if you can’t afford that, get a Ray-Bon. LoL 28. Get extra phone batter(ies) and extra Network SIMs. Some network are not available at some camps in remote locations far from towns. Once you get your call-up letter, you can find out (from serving corpers or tweet at me @_NYSC) which network has the best reception at your destination camp. If you need data access, find out if that available also. Instagramers and keekers, if you get EDGE thank your stars. 29. CASH: Extremely important. You would need about N15,000. Then between N20,000 – N30,000 to be ‘just’ comfortable. For those that can manage, say, N10,000 – N15,000. There are lots of things that take up money. Things like food (for those who don’t intend eating camp food), drinks, recharge cards, charging of phones, laundry, pleasures e.t.c Tip: You wont be allowed to leave camp. So do not be stranded, trust me it’s not a good idea. Just budget 1000 per day. You could take your ATM card along, incase. (This might sound counter-intuitive since there might not be any ATM in camp and you are not allowed to leave camp. But figure it out…) You can keep you extra cash with the Accounts Department (as the case was in my camp) while some shops offer POS services, you still have access to extra cash whenever you need it. If you have a camera you can take it along because you will want to snap a lot of scenes. If you have a Smartphone with great camera, that’s good for you because you can easily take and share photos on social networks. Tip: If you don’t have any of those, you will have to pay some guys on camp who do that as business to follow you around and snap you wherever you go. They might charge up to N2,000 for the duration of the camping. They should give you all your photos and videos in DVDs at the end of Camping. Or you could wait till the last day of leaving camp and snap at a cheaper rate.

When Ikenna and Uloma met at their workplace about a decade ago, they never knew they would end up as husband and wife. As fate would have it, they soon fell in love with each other and began dating. They were soon confronted with a big challenge; their office frowned on open amorous relationship between members of staff. Yet, their love blossomed everyday and at a point, they agreed to take it further by promising each other marriage. Knowing the company’s policy on two members of staff getting married, Ikenna made sure Uloma secured a job before they got married. Shortly before their marriage, Uloma resigned. ❝ The same cannot be said of Biola and Amiola who are software application developers for an Information and Communication Technology firm. Both are brilliant and were the pride of their company. Some software they developed helped their company become a leading force in the ICT world and it helped their stock rise in the capital market. ❝ Things were beautiful for them until they both became an item. Their relationship blossomed and was leading to marriage until they realised they both had… The same genotype, AS. Knowing this would most likely spell doom for them in future as they could have children with sickle cell anaemia, they had to part ways. Their break-up affected them seriously because they were genuinely in love and it reflected on their work. From being one of the most brilliant minds in the company, they became another number in the company.Because of the fallouts of their breakup, a policy was made against two members of staff engaging in serious relationship. Kelvin and Isioma who met at work six years ago got married about three months ago to the astonishment of their colleagues who had no idea that they were dating. Both were at one time or the other employees of the year and were favourites of virtually everybody at work. Although their company frowned on relationships within the office, because of their dedication to work, it took it upon itself to sponsor their wedding. Adesoye Joshua, an executive at the Lua Concept Interior Design, believes that an amorous relationship among co-workers reduces the productive output of an organisation. He told Saturday Breeze that he cannot subscribe to such relationships. “When people are in a relationship, they tend to talk a lot and spend so much time on idle chats at the expense of the company. Especially during the early stage of their relationship, they would want to be together all the time,” he said. The interior decorator said that his company was indifferent to the issue. He told Saturday Breeze that an action by one or both parties could affect the business of the office negatively. Joshua said, “If either of the spouses is a jealous one, it could spell trouble for the company they work for. A jealous mind cannot work efficiently. Also there is the break-up aspect. It is not all relationships that work out as planned. If they break up, there could be a serious breakdown of productivity from the heartbroken depending on how emotional the person is. A young lady, Nike Adeniji who worked with an advertising company narrated to Saturday Breeze how she got her fingers burnt because of an office dalliance she got involved in. As someone who cherishes respect, she lamented that she got the exact opposite when she went into a relationship with a fellow worker. Adeniji said,“I got engaged in an office romance some years back at the advertising firm I worked for. Before, I was indifferent to it because I know some people who met at work and later got married. When the guy approached me, I was reluctant but l later accepted his advances after several rejections. At first, we were very close friends at work till I agreed to be his girlfriend. He was so polite and was always there for me especially when my father died. I think it was one of the reasons I agreed to his advances after seeing how caring he was. But several months into the relationship, I noticed that he began to act differently. “Even when I invited him out on weekends, he would tell me that we would always see in the office. This was a guy that would be disturbing me from Wednesday for us to hang out on weekends. He also became disrespectful towards me especially in the office regardless of who was around. When I could not take it anymore, I decided to call it quits. He later came back begging but by then, it was too late. I have promised myself I would not be romantically involved with any co-worker anymore; there are other men outside the office space.” The reputation of a lady simply identified as Belinda who used to work for a leading insurance company in Lagos took a dip due to an office romance she got involved in. She was involved in a messy affair between two men. An employee of the firm told Saturday Breeze that Belinda was having an affair with two men in the company; the Managing Director of the firm and another fellow worker, Franklin. When Franklin, who had hoped to marry Belinda realised she was dating his boss, he wanted to call it quits but couldn’t for fear of what the light-skinned young lady would do to him. Months later, he met a girl, Nkechi, and a whirlwind romance started. He soon began arrangements to get married to the girl but before then, he told her about Belinda. “When Franklin met Nkechi, they hit it off almost immediately and they were very compatible with each other. As they were getting serious, he confided in her what was happening in his office between him and Belinda She told him that before they could get married, he had to call it quits with Belinda and he agreed. But Belinda proved a hard nut as she told Franklin to stop the bad joke. She threatened him to get serious because any attempt for him to dump her would result in his sacking from the company. He knew she was not bluffing so his hands were tied ironically, the managing director was a married man. When things were beginning to become messy and the board of directors heard of what was happening, the MD was sanctioned and Belinda was asked to leave. Franklin is still with us but told us that he would never be involved in such romance in his life.” Franklin is now a senior executive at the firm and is married to Nkechi. They have two children together and nothing has been heard of Belinda ever since. However, the tale of those who are romantically involved with their colleagues is not always a sad one. Most of those who engaged in such relationships are now married with kids and have happily-ever-after stories to tell. So is the case of the Olopades who now reside in Canada. Bukie, now a mother, told Saturday Breeze that she met her husband while they both worked in a first generation bank in the 90s. She said that the downside to their amorous relationship was that the company’s policy forbade a woman is changing her name even after marriage. “My husband and I met when we worked for a first generation bank. We dated for some months and we got married. Our company permitted us to get married and still worked together but women are not allowed to change their names to their husbands’. After some months, I opted for transfer but that was solely our decision. If I had wanted to remain in that branch, I would have but we felt it was for the best,” she said. Mrs. Gbamgbose, a worker in the Lagos State Secretariat, Alausa, said that she met her late husband in the ministry in the early 80s. Now a grandmother, she thanked God for her work as she almost turned down the job when it was offered to her. If she had, she said she probably would never have met her husband whom she believes was destined for her from heaven. Gbamgbose said, “I met Dada while we were both working in the ministry. He is dead now and I miss him everyday but I thank God he was in my life. I almost rejected the job because I had another offer then. My parents and friends advised me to accept the job and I agreed. Dada was my boss and I was shocked when he made romantic advances towards me. I saw him as an upright man and whenever he brought up the topic, I could see the seriousness in his eyes so I gave him a chance and it was worth it.” The civil servant advised that if one must go into a relationship with a fellow worker, then it must be certain that it would end well for the sake of both parties and the company. “I do not frown on the idea of being in a romantic relationship with someone in your office. I would only advise that both parties should know what they are doing before they venture into it because it is not easy to sustain such relationships. They have to know that it could lead to marriage and so they should be careful,” she said.

No, Mario Götze, the soccer player who scored Germany’s winning goal for the World Cup yesterday, does not have a banana in his pocket. He is just really, really, happy to be hanging out with his girlfriend, German model Ann-Kathrin Brommel Vida, on this boat. This picture circulated the Internet last year, but now that Götze has become a mini celebrity, it’s making rounds again. I can’t blame him for that raging boner; his girlfriend is very attractive. Though, I would suggest wearing something a little less tight and revealing — PSA: never, ever wear a Speedo — if you know that you have a hot model of a girlfriend whose bikini color makes it look like she literally isn’t wearing clothes.

The Edo Chapter of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) has accused Governor Adams Oshiomhole of lying to the state in several occassions and even failing to fulfill the promises made to the electorate and the stowaway boy, Daniel Ikhena. Dan Orbih, the Chairman of the party in the state, told journalists in Benin that Mr. Oshiomhole had repeatedly denied that the state was indebted. Mr. Orbih said the government had, however, set aside N20 billion in the 2014 budget for debt servicing. He described the sack of 836 teachers by the state government as "tissues of lies", adding that Mr. Oshiomhole was playing politics with the figure. The chairman alleged that more than 3,000 teachers were sacked and there was no plan to recruit new ones. He said the state government had failed to fulfill the promises made to the electorate and the stowaway boy, Daniel Ikhena. He said people who wanted to help the boy were stopped because of the government's declared intention to take care of the boy and his family. "Government did not fulfill the promise made to the family. "People who wanted to help them stopped because they assumed they were being looked after by government. We also gathered that the mother is now sick,'' he said. Reacting to the issues, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, Kassim Afegbua, said the state government had never denied that it was indebted. "There is no government all over the world that is self sustaining and without having recourse to certain borrowings to meet up its statutory obligations," he said. "What is bad in borrowing is taking the money without using it. "Since this government came on stream five years ago, we were servicing the debt inherited from the previous PDP government in the state. "We took a bond specifically meant for the ongoing Benin water storm project, and as we speak, the Edo debt stands at between N11 and N12 billion. On monthly basis, there is certain amount taken from the internally-generated revenue to service that debt.'' On Ikhena, he said that the boy, like several others on scholarship, was in the boarding house, adding that the boy was not abandoned. He said that only 836 teachers were sacked, adding that the decision was taken after the outcome of the evaluation carried out in respect of teachers recruitment, population, competence and qualification.

According to the reliable sources, contrary to the facts stated by his media aide, Kassim Afegbua, that all was well with the governor; in reality he sustained serious injuries on his head as well as pains in his heart. It has been gathered that Mr. Oshiomhole was first attended to in the government house by his doctor of physiotherapist and medical doctor, but he never responded well to immediate treatment, hence he was promptly flown out in secret. Journalists have been making frantic effort to get the true story after it was broken exclusively yesterday by a London based media, Elombah.com, but they have made no headway. A source who spoke to the Paradigm correspondents queried why the government is scared of showing the world the pictures of the car which carried the governor on that fateful day if the car was not badly hit. When The Paradigm contacted another official source within the government house, it said the governor was hurriedly flown to the United State in a chartered air ambulance. However, the source preferred to remain anonymous.

No language spoken by man compares, in universality, with body language. Not even Chinese (Mandarin) spoken by the largest number of humans on the surface of the earth, does. Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba, Swahili, Japanese, Bengali and Hindi sparring with Arabic, English, French, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish - the so-called international auxiliary languages - are no match for body language in a game of universal versatility. I had the rare privilege, as a 13-year-old many years ago, of witnessing the enormous message-registering power of body language in the humble apartment of a neighbourhood uncle with whom I shared mutual fondness. His "tear-rubber" wife had sauntered into the sitting room while I was savouring the excitement of humour with him. Within 20 seconds, she had recited the line "honey, I'm sure you know I love you" at least three times as she fidgeted in different directions of the room. Then, without minding the little presence disturbing their romantic peace, radiant smile playing suggestively on her face, she lowered her captivating athletic frame onto his laps and delivered the bewitching line "e tie rerin" as she rubbed the glittering wedding ring on her index finger against his tingling nose. Uncle and I understood what she recited in English because we both spoke the language. We also got the music she sang in Yoruba, which meant "you are not even smiling!" because we were both speakers. A non-speaker would have needed to be a sorcerer to decipher both. But without reaching for sorcery, Uncle deciphered from her body language that she was about to make a financial demand. So he seized the next available opportunity to sneak out of the house. And why not? He was well aware madam's friend who visited earlier had come to sell to her the idea of "aso ebi" uniform for a ladies' club they had just formed. This was clearly a problem he did not create. Why then should he bear such burden especially with the cost masquerading treacherously on the periphery of two-thirds of his bloody civil servant salary? Unfortunately for him, he would still have to return home later: the day he slotted that wedding ring into her inviting finger, he signed up to confronting and solving problems he did not create. Similarly, the privileged Nigerian who was later to become Uncle's president, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, the day he willingly took oath of office after successfully seeking the people's mandate, signed up to confronting challenges and solving problems he did not create. His Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati , though, might need the services of a sorcerer to realize and admit this. So much Abati's body language suggested to the nation earlier in the year when the cry of the national and international communities heightened against the "kid glove" with which the war on the monster that is mightier than, and in fact is the promoter of Boko Haram, was being fought. The long and short of his defence then, in a newspaper interview, was that " the Jonathan administration did not create corruption in Nigeria ." The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal , could not be credited (or debited) with creating the problem either. His body language, though, might suggest he was only hiding in, and test-running his much- speculated but yet-to-be-procured Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) when, recently, he fired a deadly missile at the President. He had carpeted Dr. Jonathan on this same issue of concern for which the heart of the international community bleeds for Nigeria. But it is widely believed in the country that the House which Tambuwal heads is as guilty as the Presidency on the war (or lack of it) against the canker which Malam Nuhu Ribadu would describe as Nigeria's own terrorism. Perhaps the hands of both institutions are tied because most of the charges built around the corruption monster, unlike in other climes, are "unknown to law" in Nigeria. But not so in China, for instance! Since taking charge of the reins of state early 2013, President Xi Jinping had described corruption as a threat to the Communist Party's survival and vowed to go after powerful "tigers" in the land. Within the last four months alone, at least two such "tigers" have been caged. Ousted politician Bo Xilai was jailed for life in September after he was found guilty of corruption, bribe taking and abuse of power. His appeal was rejected in October, barely a month later, and his life sentence upheld. Also in October, a state official, Ma Linxlang, was sacked for "extravagant waste" after he spent an estimated 1.6 million yuan (about 160,000 pounds - chicken change on Nigeria's free-for- all corruption terrain) on a lavish three-day wedding for his son. Even from the Vatican, a senior German Church leader tagged the "bishop of bling" by the media was, in October, suspended over his alleged lavish spending. Apparently, in those climes and many such others around the globe, the charges, even if unknown to law, were known to man, and man, armed with the requisite political will, made them known to law. This is a big national challenge to President Jonathan whose political and media aides, in doing their jobs, have successfully constituted themselves into the main software component powering his body language hardware. If the duties of a leader anywhere in the world were all about solving problems he created, there would be no need for his services in the first place. Nelson Mandela did not create the problem of Apartheid. He was celebrated in life and is also celebrated in death because, putting his life on the line, he comprehensively solved a monstrous humanity problem he did not create. Tambuwal and his colleagues in the National Assembly would do the nation a world of good with greater sincerity, commitment and political will on their part in the prosecution of any meaningful war on corruption. But the buck, in the final analysis, stops at the desk of the Commander-In-Chief. Nigerians probably voted him into that position believing he would be the most motivated to go after the local "tigers" playing graft with the national resources being produced in his home region. His duty in the exalted position is to confront challenges and solve problems he did not create. That was, and is, his mandate.

The former President accused Dr. Jonathan of training snipers and putting 1,000 Nigerians on a watch list ahead of the 2015 elections. Jonathan denied it all, saying Obasanjo should prove the allegations. "I'm number one on the list. They want to kill me," Amaechi told a huge crowd at the Liberation Stadium in Port Harcourt, the state capital. It was at an exciting rally organised by the Save Rivers Movement - a political group backing Amaechi's stand on the state's political future. Amaechi defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC). There were a lot of officials and eminent personalities at the occasion. Amaechi, who is also the Nigeria Governors' Forum (NGF) chairman, said: "Today (yesterday), I am not declaring. I said I would declare at the new stadium. The reason for gathering today is to remind Nigerians that the current Federal Government is carrying on with impunity. "There is no rule of law in Nigeria. They are using police to molest us. Where police fail to molest us, they are using thugs to shoot dynamites and guns against innocent people. "I read the President's (Jonathan's) letter and he said ex-President Obasanjo should prove the 1,000 names on the watch list. I am number one on the list. "They want to kill me, but they have no God. The God we worship will protect me. Before the end of the year, I will address the state. "They will shoot you. They have no fear for your blood. They want the position at all costs. Whether you all die, they do not mind governing just the land. You must know that if you read the story of revolution, you must sacrifice. Another extract from his speech: "We gave the President (Jonathan in 2011) nearly two million votes, let him tell us one project he has done for us. I have challenged the President that I belong to the APC. "If he wants Rivers people to vote for him, let him give Kalabari people back their oil wells and I will come back (to the PDP). He cannot. The President cannot. Instead, he will take more." Moreover. Amaechi admonished the people, especially his teeming supporters, to be prepared for the struggle ahead, stating that on elections' days, the "oppressors" would come with tanks and policemen, but urged them to stand and watch their votes. He claimed: "I am facing power. They should tell us what they are doing. We are prepared for a debate with them. "In Etche, they have taken our 41 oil wells across (to Abia State). They are denying us our rights. We have suffered enough. "I suffered and my children suffered, but today we are in government. If you listen to them closely, our brothers, who are on the other side, they are hungry. They have been out of power for nearly eight years. "If you vote them into power, what will happen? They will steal all the money. They are broke. The ones that are not broke, that are in government, they are busy stealing and building mansions everywhere. They have no fear. I have never seen corruption like this in Nigeria before. Amaechi recalled the current corruption scandal, referring to the accusations by the CBN (Central Bank of Nigeria), and bottled water project, accusing Finance Minister, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala of failure to sign it off. He said: "They do not want to sign. They want you to die of water-borne diseases." The Chief Felix Obuah-led Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, through the Special Adviser to the Chairman on Media, Jerry Needam, however, alleged that Amaechi was no longer relevant in the Niger Delta state's political calculation. Gen. Buhari said: "I congratulate the people of Rivers State for moving to the APC. The fundamental thing is one Nigeria. In spite of our differences, we have found ourselves as one people. Nigeria is a country with tremendous resources and talented people, but we are unable to organise ourselves to raise this country. "The efforts we are making is for Nigeria. We have to put the party firmly on the ground. We will do everything constitutional to make sure that 2015 elections are credible. We are in an extremely difficult position, where a government is lawless. Courageous Amaechi has done well. Source......... http://m.naij.com/news/54968.html

A young Nigerian woman would like to share are unsavory sexual experience with a man who, according to her, is one of the most famous entertainer in the Nigerian music industry. He is one of the reigning musicians who is also a music producer. To protect the alleged "celebrity", his name has not been revealed in this post. Young ladies looking to have a bit of fun should be careful of entertainers as this young lady is not the only victim. Read below; Our Nigerian celebs like to take advantage of we females, let me tell you a personal experience I had with ___ ____ although I'm not sure if he's actually normal because of the amount of marijuana he consumes. Anyway I met him and he kept calling me and promised me heaven and how I will be his wife. I agreed to see him & one thing led to another & we had sex. The condom broke in the process. After the experience, I had a bad infection & was placed on antibiotics for a week & my doctor suggested that my partner should be treated. I called him severally after that day but he didn't pick up. I knew I had been cheated but still I wanted him to treat his infection instead of passing it around. He has ignored me completely on the last months. I was having drinks with a couple of friends last night & co-incidentally both of them were supposed to hook up with a celeb who I consider dirty & smelling, a complete drug addict. Admittedly he's talented & makes good music. Although they have been going with the flow but I decided to expose him through this medium because a lot of other girls might not even know he's insane. I also saw a friend's cousin's tweet today that read 'omg' ___ ___ DM'd me. |
He's been condemned by other Muslim leaders, and some local imams have even refused to greet him. But Imam Daayiee Abdullah believed to be the only openly gay imam in America is proud of his story. According to Aljazeera, Imam Abdullah was born a Christian, born and raised in Detroit, where his parents were Southern Baptists. But at age 15, he told his parents he was gay. At 33, while studying in China, Abdullah converted to Islam, and went on to study the religion in Egypt, Jordan and Syria. But as a gay man in America, he saw that lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Muslims had unmet spiritual needs, so he decided to become an imam to attend to their needs. "Sometimes necessity is the mother of invention. And because of the necessity in our community, that's why I came into this particular role," he told America Tonight about his journey. His first act as an imam was performing funeral rites, Muslim body cleaning ritual for a gay Muslim who died of AIDS. Pained Abdullah said: "They had contacted a number of imams, and no one would go and provide him his janazah services. This pained me. I believe every person, no matter if I disagree with you or not, you have the right as a Muslim to have the proper spiritual [rites] and rituals provided for you. And whoever judges you, that will be Allah's decision, not me. "The beautiful thing about God is that when you change your attitude, and say, 'God, I need some help,' and mean it sincerely, God is always there for you" Abdullah serves as the imam and educational director of the Light of Reform Mosque in Washington, D.C. A mosque he helped form more than two years ago, to be a safe space for values and practices that other mosques may eschew. In his mosque, women and men kneel side-by- side and women are allowed to lead prayers - actions that have sparked controversy even among American Muslims. His mosque's congregants are diverse and represent a wide range of cultures, religious upbringings and sexual orientations. For its LGBT congregants, the Light of Reform Mosque is a rare safe space. But not all of them are gay. Many are just Muslims looking for a mosque that accepts all kinds. Not everyone is happy with the mosque though. Some local imams have refused to greet Abdullah, and many others across the country argue his work performing same-sex marriage is not legitimate, and that he should control his "urges." But Abdullah is firm in his belief. "Being an openly gay imam and having been identified as such, I do get a lot of feedback and also kickback, but that's OK," he said. "I think that when people are unfamiliar with things, they tend to have an emotional knee-jerk reaction to it. Abdullah has hope that the message he is working to spread will continue to resonate: "It is our relationship with God and our relationship with each other that really establishes our faith." Not whether you are gay or straight.
