PaperLace: Whose business is it if it annoys them? Only in Nigeria. They're being paid for the service, where the passenger sits is none of their business. I have also seen drivers that don't like one sitting in the front, they feel you'll monitor their driving closely.
Pride indeed... the little things you all consider pride in this country sha I have entered a commercial bus where I entered the front seat then the driver said madam go sit for back and so I said this is where I want to sit.after all I saw sit in the back before I chose to sit here, isn't it my money I'm paying? Then he said woman no dey sit for front. We no dey allow woman sit for front. I said why?I Sidon for your head abi I go hold your hand when you dey drive? Then he said woman dey too dey disturb for front. I said I don't understand. Then he said if he's driving, and he knows a woman is sitting beside him his body will be doing him one kind and he won't be able to concentrate on what he's driving. I just shook my head and got down from the bus |

DonaTee: Dats how 1 silly lagos keke man refused to help me put my load in d boot. honestly d load was heavy n I dragged it to dat point. Lifting it was just not possible. By the time i was through with him he came down n we lifted d load.
got to my destination he started again. How he can't bring d load down. I sat der silently waiting for him to make a nasty move. 15mins after wasting his time he brought down d load.
my conclusion THEY ARE VERY LAZY N LOUSY. fyi its wasn't an igbo man. If it were they do there work provided you pay! I think its pride.they feel 1. You sha carried the load from wherever you were coming from till you saw the cab man,why then should he carry it to the boot for you 2.how can I carry load for a "woman" However if you pay for your load in the booth, you have a right to tell him to put it in the booth for you and bring it down It's annoying how cab men behave as if they're doing you a favor and it's not your money you're paying |

BoomBoom101: A lot of pple don't know that sitting at at back seat, forming owners corner annoys these drivers. I've realised it a long time ago and stopped. My MD/CEO who always sit beside his driver told me never to sit at d back of a driver because it's just pride that makes no sense. He said the most comfortable seat in a car is the front seat because u can adjust it to any position well I don't see it that way.the only danger I see there is that he will be using the mirror on top of the windscreen in front of the car to be monitoring you to see whatever you're doing or whether you're sleeping so that he can take you beyond your destination and say oga you no tell me say we don reach where we dey go and charge you higher,God help you if you don't pay,if you're a man you'll get beaten and if you're a woman he'll shout asewo on you |

The best thing to do to them is that before you enter make sure you agree on the price and if he says 1500 hold the exact money one thousand naira note and 500 naira. Don't give him 2k and say change me da? They'll start threatening, begging or insulting. Some will even zoom off with your money
And whilst in the car don't entertain or encourage any discussion with him.many deliberately do that so that you will loose guard and be carried away with the jisting so that he will carry you beyond your destination and insist you should pay higher. If you say but this is not where I said I'm going, they'll start getting aggressive and insultive.
If you're on phone and you finish talking and then he says ejo mofedasi oro teso Lori phone. Moripe ebayan soro ,tell him in a polite tone please face what you're driving. I wasn't talking to you
Note that this guys are liars, angry, confrontational and aggressive so you have to be very wise.never encourage any unnecessary familiarity
And also do not move around at night if you're not mobile. Cab men might take advantage of you financially because they know you're desperate to get home.they might even rape or kidnap you.be careful. Many of them are frustrated.
That's why when I enter cab and we agree on 2k and then drops me to my destination and then tells me madam na 4k I tell you.I will get down and raise alarm to attract the attention of people who are eager to lynch him or transfer their frustration on him.I will say this man dey harass me o.he lie on top my head because he see say I be woman. I tell am 2k he con dey lie say he tell me 4k.he say he go park and twist my neck in the car. Trust me they won't even wait to hear his side before they begin to attack him so he will just jejely collect the money and take off |

0079jaBond: Well, you're right to some degree but the truth about being a leader is that you cannot always act right. While some decisions or actions can be seen as "unfair", others may be regarded as just, so to say. However, what matters most is for the fellow to simply heed to instruction.
Let me give you an example which centers on our African mothers. While I was growing up, my mother scolded me in embarrassing fashion sometimes. You're with your friends or maybe playing around and you'll hear things like: "this is why you're not serious, I wonder what your friends teach you. Come on, go inside!" Voila, embarrassing, init?! I trust you agree with me. And should I rebel? O boy, double wahala!
So I insist, obedience is better than sacrifice. Obey before complain. obey before complain.no wonder Nigeria is where it is.like a person doesn't have self will or brain?is the only method of correction embarrassment? |

Why do I have this feeling that the Chairman took advantage of the fracas to burn some implicating files in his office so as to cover tracks?
This is an old "format" in Nigeria exactly. Commiting arson is an old gimmick by civil servants to cover up messy/scandalous financial or implicative documents |

9jakohai: Hmmm
Sorry, but you actually have a problem...and that is pride.
Remember, the pastor asked you to tuck in your shirt. He did not ask you to go and steal, cheat, lie,or do something that is dishonorable to God.
Thing about being a Chirsitan is that we have to humble ourselves, and follow what our Elder in Christ has to say sometimes.
Modified
I did not know that expressing my opinion on Nairaland could make me so popular.
The sad thing about most of the responses to me here are the fact that some of them have chosen to insult me and call me unprintable names.I have also gotten threatened once too.Chrisitanity in Nigeria has a lot of work to do among the adherents....
For those who tried to politely engage my comment...a big thank you. Yes...tucking in does not make a man right before God...it is what is in his heart that counts. But...at the same time...out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. Leaving church because of being asked to tuck in shirt does not show a humble heart.
Am sure that if the OP was asked to tuck in his shirt at his placeof work...he would do so immediately...because he does not want to lose his job.(Being a bit facetious here...I know).
Finally....the point here is humility. Being humble is an ongoing process. It is one I go through everyday...and one I hope to keep on going through. As long as I stay within God's Word.
God bless everyone who put me in their mentions...good and bad. I still love you all anyway!
Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up in honor.
James 4 vs 10
Modified 2
I am now officially on drugs, am a hypocrite, and I am all sorts of unprintable things...apparently.
Ah well....God came to save sinners, among who I am chief.
(And by the way, having lost someone close to me to drug abuse, I do not abuse or even tolerate the abuse of drugs. I have even treated drug abusers!) no wonder there's so much hypocrisy in the church, no wonder everyone is keeping appearances in the church. On Sunday everyone will form holy holy, omo Jesu.on week days we will wear our real character If your boss ask you to tuck in,you tuck in not necessarily because you agree with his school if thought as far as dressing is concerned, you do it because you don't want your means of sustenance be cut off.a lot of people obey their bosses they hate, despise or gossip about. They don't like his rules but they comply so that they won't be given query but the house of God is not for passing judgements. Telling people how to dress, you end up having pastor pleaser and actors in church painting the impression that they're sanctified |

For the action the pastor took shows that you must have been told how to kit up as a worker, besides he said you should dress properly . please brother is just a correction simple as that. Don't allow pride to over rule you brother. Just take it as a correction. See you at the church for their next program. the point is must embarrassment take place for him to be corrected? |
Christianity Etc › Re: My Pastor Ordered Me Out Of The Church During Sunday Service by dangotesmummy: 4:14pm On May 28, 2017 |
0079jaBond: Obedience is better than sacrifice. Obey before complaining. Afterward, you can question what prompted his action.
You were not condemned nor judged, so why worry? Once again, obey! he was embarrassed.you don't have to embarrass someone before you correct him What stops the pastor from calling him to a private place where no one is and say brother A please tuck in.this is how we do here.I'm not trying to tell you how to dress but please you know you'll be ministering and you'll FAce the crowd.the teenagers will want to copy you and I don't want them to be distracted while worshipping God.please help us comply.that's a better way of putting it.trust me he will want to comply not because of church but the way and manner he was spoken too.correction is different from embarrassment. Leaders at whatever level should learn the difference |

stanley99a: @Op, leaving the church angrily because you were scolded or ordered to go tuck in your shirt by your pastor is very wrong I must tell you. My questions to you..
1. Will you leave your job for another because you were scolded by your boss in front of your colleagues?
2. Will you forfeit your admission and rewrite another jamb because your lecturer scolded you in the presence of your classmates for not dressing properly to class? ( Law students know what I mean)
3. Do you benefit from the teachings your pastor share from the pulpit? If yes, why angry that you where corrected by your own pastor.
I'll will put it to you with due respect OP that it was pride that made you leave the church angrily that faithful day because you were instructed to go out and tuck in your shirt.
I am sure that you weren't the only member in church that did not tuck in to church that day. Why you? Think about it
My word for you op, please go back to the church and apologize to your pastor if truly it's just what you narrated here that made you leave. Remember prov 4:6 You never know how far your talent can take you. Humility is key to success in life excuse you.na una type dey massage pastors ego too much.I'm not saying a pastor can't scold or correct but he should have done it in love.there's a way you correct someone that will ginger him to change and not strip him of his self worth.we're all human beings and we have feelings. That your boss embarrasses you in public doesn't make it right. Stop making pastors look like they know it all abeg |
