The Serie A won't be going on a winter break this year. Looking at Napoli's fixture, they have 3 more games to play until Osimhen can be released for the AFCON..
I hope Osimhen stay fit.. he needs to be there.. He is yet to lead the charge for us at a major tournament.

For clarity sake, #15 is open to ALL players of Nigerian origin, born at home or abroad, but NOT open to players that is impossible for them to honor a call immediately (require a switch from another country)

We can vote on this.

I think it's better to make it available to any player of Nigerian origin. Whether or not they require a switch doesn't change the fact that they are still eligible to represent Nigeria

Rohr and Agu put us into this messy situation but I thought Peseiro would have done the needful.

He does not have any option than to throw it open and see if he can salvages the situation. It is very easy to know a good keeper but our technical staff are making it so difficult.

Uzoho
Okoye
Adeleye
Nwabili
2 home keepers.

Rohr tried to some extent regarding the goalkeeping department.. At least he didn't stick to one goalie for long.. After Ikeme was forced to retire, he turned to Akpeyi... Akpeyi started to misbehave and Ezenwa became first choice.. then Uzoho and later Maduka..
Peseiro has stuck with Uzoho since he came in, with the exception of some minutes given to Maduka and Adeleye

I just hope this is a joke but this is Naija..

6 goalies, 4 midfielders, ...like we could bring in a goalkeeper to change the course of a game.

If only JP was a Nigerian..

Its for the preliminary squad not final squad..but i won't be surprised to see a thin midfield list for the final team list

Well done Danielnino00, these criteria are highly noted.

For #15 does the player have to be a 'foreign born', or any Nigerian player, irrespective of whether local or foreign born?

Any Nigerian player, irrespective of where they are born. As long as they are eligible to represent the Super Eagles.

Good morning gentlemen.

Based on the responses given, it's clear that everyone want us to adopt the former criteria for nomination.
So here we go....

All committee members are to nominate 3 names for each category, and the names with the most nomination would be selected for the final round of voting by all Nairalanders. In the event that there is a tie in the names nominated, all members of the committee will have to vote on it.
The criteria for nomination include:
1. All nomination should fall under the year 2023 in review.
2. Number 4 (most impactful new inclusion) refers to a player who made his super eagles debut this year and left a good impression
3. Number 15 (prospect of the year) refers to a player of Nigerian origin, regardless of his age who is eligible to represent Nigeria, but hasn't, and is highly talented.
4. For those of us who might be forgetful, its recommended that we tune in to Bascovanveli YouTube channel (Naija bias football channel) for highlights of super eagles games this year to help in deciding the nomination for nunber 11 and 12.
5. Nomination closes on Friday 15th December 2023.
