Tenable in Brunei Darussalam, the scholarship award provides applicants with the opportunity to study at any one of the following institutions of higher education:

· Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD),

· Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA),

· Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) and

· Politeknik Brunei (PB).



The academic year commences July/August 2018.



1 ELIGIBILITY

1.1 Applications are open to citizens of, but not limited to, ASEAN, Commonwealth and OIC member countries.


1.2 Applicants should be nominated by their Government.

1.3 Applicants must be certified to be medically fit to undertake the scholarship and to study in Brunei Darussalam, by a qualified medical practitioner who is registered with any Government Authority(ies) prior to arrival in Brunei Darussalam. Any and all costs incurred in obtaining this certification are to be borne by the applicant.


1.4 Applicants must be, between the ages of 18-25 for undergraduate and diploma programmes and must not exceed the age of 35 for postgraduate programmes on the 31st July 2018.



1.5 The award is NOT eligible to Brunei Darussalam Permanent Residents.

The passage shows that Jesus endorsed tithing but rebuked tithing in iniquity, so we should tithe!

MY RESPONSE: I am not surprised at the definition but it is 101% deviant from biblical definition. Tithe is a tenth of farm produce, animals and agricultural goods and foods stuff.

The Tithe did not come with the law of Moses so it cannot go with the law Moses. It existed far before the law and will continue to exist far after the law.
MY RESPONSE: Totally correct but not the one practiced to day. Abraham only tithed ONCE, not from his INCOME either. More importantly, HE GAVE TITHE NOT PAID TITHE.

When you cant justify why an unbeliever is prospering.. thats what you end up saying. but then, is he infering that, Dangote, Zuckerberg, Seun Osewa (of all people lol) pay tithe..hahahahahaha

MY RESPONSE: I am very interested in this part. This where they claim validation in the new-testament. But, they fail to realize that, jesus was talking about the LAW in entirety that THE PHARISSESS PRACTICE A FEW FAVOURABLE ONES AND IGNORE THE REST. PLEASE CHECK THE LAST WORD OF THAT PASSAGE.. "LAW".. The question is.. which law? The law of Moses. So if a pastor is refering to this passage, by implication, he practice the law... and YET JESUS CAME TO FULFILL THE LAW AND WE ARE UNDER GRACE... hmmm.. i smell hypocrisy in phrassesial form.

7. The Tithe was validated by Paul the Apostle in the New Testament [Heb. 7:1-8]
MY RESPONSE: This was the worst reply i have seen in defence of tithe.. cherry-picking passages.. why not read the whole passage.. that is the key to understanding tithe in the new testament. No where did paul validated tithe...

I took my time to read and understand the Bishop here. Atleast give him the benefit of the doubt. And I would always say over and over again. I so admire him as a BUSINESSMAN. Yes. Still i dont buy his methods of using God to extort from guilible members.. But then, he made valid points with respect to the state of education in the country as a justification for the university's cost and try to explain how unprofitable what service they are offering as against the general opinion. He is quite convincing BUT then, i think he is just trying to show that christianity can lead the way, can do what the government can not do. And more importantly creating a PARALLEL SYSTEM. it is actually only going to boast his ego... it wont have as much impact as expected. Yes.. Why? What is the essence of creating a service platform (using his words) and yet very minute few can enjoy such services. The THING IS NO GOVERNMENT PROFIT FROM EDUCATING HER PEOPLE ON A SHORT-TERM LIKE BUT 1MILLION AND GET 1.5MILLION NEXT YEAR. nope... It is a neccessary investment and hence the subsidy. So if you cant do what the government is doing, then dont venture into government's business. simple. For me, i would rather have a memorandum of Understanding with the government to co-fund our public universities, equip them and let it benefit an average Nigerian student. With the church co-supervision, and a strict adherence to the MOU.. things will improve. IT CAN BE IN BACTHES, OK, pick one federal and a state uni/poly/college in every geho-political zone and help then upgrade to standard.. Also, it should be a CAN thing. They will make more impact in Nigeria than fighting buhari over frivolous issues like sukkuh bond. The lives you would affect will long surpass the spoilt rich kids you think you are helping. Sorry, no offence but it is evident that only the rich can afford private schools and in as much as they deserve the best in education.. others too deserve such irrespective of their religious affiliations.
