is this true about our Minister of Finance? I think its true tho

@seun @mcgibbson

I don't make comments frequently but this idiotic post has brought me out of my hiatus. Frankly, I'm extremely disappointed in the mods for allowing this level of stupidity hit the front page.

For your information, that's human hair braids, costs $500 for 2 packs.

And no, i do not know her or her family.

Romance / Re: Big Booty Chics...how Embarassing?! by danny2010(f): 6:31am On May 13, 2015
If you haven't been embarrassed by a big booty, you probably won't understand what we go through. I've had several embarrassing moments, i would just list the top three that happened abroad.
1) i was walking with a friend on a quiet street and didn't realise there was an asian man walking right behind me wanking at my denim clad booty. My friend turned back, saw him and drew my attention to the hub wanking and walking behind me. When the dude saw i had caught on. He just said ' now that's a really nice ass' without breaking his self-service.
2) i was on an escalator, standing on the right to allow people in a hurry rush past on the left. A scrawly looking oyinbo teen tapped my booty, scratched it and hurried past. He was unfortunately so fast, even though i got on the left side of the escalator to catch him, i still couldn't! Now the next one is the most embarrassing till date.

@afoloyangs and deloby - glad I could be of some help
@samrose- you are very welcome. Apologies I am yet to reply your mail.

@deloby I think- graduate trainee interviews have commenced at AMCON ikoyi office. Some are having theirs today. The interviews don't hold everyday but I am sure they will hold more for at least one more week. Don't have much details except read up as much as you can on the company n its a 3 man interview for about 15mins.

@ayandee - to the best of my knowledge, interviews are still being held with the ED incharge of the dept applied to. It takes a little while to schedule everyone so keep praying you get called.you might want to call the number on the mail inviting you for your 1st AMCON ikoyi interview for more info if you want.

@festac101- apologies, I don't have any information about transaction processing. Will try to find out if I can.

All the best to everyone!

@afolayangs
Research q's: what do u understand by ethics in research, duties of a researcher, what personal xtics are required in a researcher
, Its nothing difficult I hear,

All the best to you.

Someone asked about asset mgt 2nd interviews earlier on, the list for the 2nd interviews with AMCON officials is still being compiled.
Recruitment exercise has ended for abuja. Abuja people have been coming to Lagos for technical tests and interviews. So all hope is not lost.

@grad trainees- they have not started interviews for grad trainees, so don't bother yourselves.

I find the recruiters a bit confused as I got invited for first assessment tests in my 3 different email addresses I used to apply for different roles and I'm still awaiting final feedback for another unit.

All the best to amcon hopefuls. From the look of things, its still possible to get called for the first level assessment tests if u haven't been contacted at all though there are only about 10 units yet to be filled out of the initial 36.

Hey samrose.
Blackberry services is crap this morning. I've been unable to send u a mail. This is up to you, if u can put your number here- I don't mind calling u to talk. But if you don't want to, I totally understand and would try to send you the mail in the evening.

All the best.

A friend of mine received a rejection mail last wk for commercial. My status changed from application received to application under review. I haven't been able to log on shell today though but pls share with the house the content of your mails.

@elhef I have not yet heard of 2nd interviews for asset mgt. When did u have ur first stage?
I was primarily shortlisted for asset mgt but did not update the details they requestd for before deadline. So I was subsequently interviewed for research. I was told then asset mgt interviews took place the wk before research interviews in may. Where u interviewed in may?
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Amcon Interview Next Phase! by danny2010(f): 10:55am On Jul 19, 2011
@otunbagade - I think with 6 yrs exp you can definitely negotiate for a good managerial position. I can't place a figure cos you are in the best position to calculate ur worth n negotiate based on that.

@afd - I don't know anything bout procurement interviews. I've only heard of Fixed Income 2nd interviews
@ucf- think I heard about talent acquisition interviews held in abuja over the past week from my abuja friends, I'm not sure though but I'm sure the person mentioned interviews held on saturday in abuja for credit n risk mgt, strategic planning n business development.
Let's all keep praying for the best.

Hello nairalanders!
Yeah, 2nd round has indeed started.
@akinloy; I'm yet to have my 2nd interview so apologies cos I can't give you first hand info.
@exsiano; A friend of mine had his on friday. He said he faced a panel of 4 and it was a rather tough interview which went on for about 30/45 mins. Not overly technical but you need to be sure of your experience. The interviewers mentioned not wanting to train the experienced hires so u have to show them you can work alone.
@totfulguy; I don't know anyone that was calld up for talent acquisition.

My prayer is all the contributors to this thread find uncommon favor in every area of our lives (including high flying jobs)in Jesus name. Interviews are still on going for first level assessment and 2nd round as well so there's enough hope for everyone here to get into AMCON.

All the best to the house!
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Amcon Interview Next Phase! by danny2010(f): 5:07pm On Jul 04, 2011
@exsiano
Yeah, there is still an interview with the head of unit at AMCON. We met with HCDC consultants at first. Hope you understand?
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Amcon Interview Next Phase! by danny2010(f): 1:57pm On Jul 04, 2011
@eva
That indeed was not a pleasant experience o. I'm not sure the kain technical q's they can ask for Banking Relations, lol at waec!
My experience with the consultants was the complete reverse. Very organized. We were less than 10 n they had a printout with our names and interview time slots in line with the mail sent. There was a slight delay (about 30 mins) which they even apologized for! Well, that was in May and in Lagos. I'm thinking maybe the pressure/hurry caused what you experienced.

@unclepn. Interesting news! God is with us o smiley I haven't been called yet. None of the other folks I know that interviewed have been called yet, Will definitely keep the house posted with any updates.

Cheers
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Amcon Interview Next Phase! by danny2010(f): 4:30pm On Jul 01, 2011
Yes eva. There is a website. Try amcon.com.ng or something like that. Pls ensure u read up about them aa much as u can. That was my opening question , My interviewer later insinuated pple he had interviewed didn't prepare adequately. Understand the vision, tranches of bonds listed so far etc and I think you are fine. Be sure u know the full meaning of amcon too, U might be surprised. I thought it was corporation, not company! A friend was asked that q and he gawked!

@gt guys, read it elsewhere its like gmat, 50q's;25math and 25 english. Specifically gmat by mcgraw or so. All the best, nairalanders
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Amcon Interview Next Phase! by danny2010(f): 11:46am On Jul 01, 2011
Great to see more nairalanders are being called! There is a compute based test for GT coming up on sat I noticed. I really don't understand these HCDC folks or their recruitment process. My invite was addressed specifically to me- not dear applicant and I was interviewed for a 'senior associate' position.

@etg and exsiano; did you guys ask about feedback time please?
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Amcon Interview Next Phase! by danny2010(f): 11:25am On Jun 28, 2011
@exsiano
Hey! Details of mine was given earlier.I know someone that was calld up over the weekend and ha
d a test. Yeah,his mail said something like first level assessment as well. He said it was a 15minute essay
But I don't really have any more details. Pls tell us how it goes,
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Amcon Interview Next Phase! by danny2010(f): 1:57pm On Jun 17, 2011
@exsiano
I don't know freshers that applied. The people I know that have been called up are experienced hires (between 3-8 yrs relevant exp). That's as far as I know.

Cheers.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Amcon Interview Next Phase! by danny2010(f): 11:54pm On Jun 14, 2011
@samrose.
When is your interview? General advice- be informed about the role you are being interviewed for because you would write a technical test about the role! Ensure your cv shows what experience you have cos its for an experienced position (relevant work exp I mean). Try to ensure you are informed of what AMCON does etc. Hope this helps. All the best
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Amcon Interview Next Phase! by danny2010(f): 11:50pm On Jun 14, 2011
@clubone05, lol. The same thing happened to a friend of mine today who happened to be in town though and rescheuled for later on in the day.more nairalanders are being called up now which is good news!
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Amcon Interview Next Phase! by danny2010(f): 5:23pm On Jun 10, 2011
@asabs
Can u please give an idea of your profile to help determine the selection criteria. Do u have a msc and a 2:1?
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Amcon Interview Next Phase! by danny2010(f): 5:19pm On Jun 10, 2011
Thanks Asabs!!! Finally someone else. Did u have your interview in Lagos or Abuja? Did you ask for the feedback time?
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Shell Recruitment Day 2011 by danny2010(f): 2:30pm On Jun 09, 2011

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Amcon Interview Next Phase! by danny2010(f): 1:46pm On Jun 09, 2011
Hey Totfulguy and Jahman,

no news yet from HCDC/AMCON. The only other person i know that was called up for an interview (finance role too) is yet to hear from them as well. I hear from someone that knows someone (in short, long tin) that HCDC is still conducting interviews. i would try to call them to find out what's next. I'm not sure what their selection criteria is but i just discovered i was shortlisted for another finance role on another email address I used this week and they sent me the mail since mid may shocked I forgot i used that email address so i missed the cut-off date to send in additional information (Remember, i mentioned i did multiple applications). If it helps- i have like 3 years relevant experience and a masters. The other person as well. There were some older people around me. A man had like 8 years experience and was being interviewed a pretty senior position.

Yes, i agree with totfulguy about the undefined portfolio. I'm definitely not thinking long term for AMCON cos i dont see what they would be doing in the long term anyways!

Please lets all keep praying for the best.

cheers.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Amcon Interview Next Phase! by danny2010(f): 8:55pm On May 31, 2011
@Jahman
I have no idea what could have happened to your application. I would suggest you call their number (I put up the number a while back) to find out about what could have happened with your application. They might divulge more information about the interviews. I'm sorry I can't help more- I'm just a fellow job seeker smiley
I've also put up details of how my interview went. No vex my broda, I can't disclose the exact position and specific role. I even find it a bit worrisome other people have refused to share their experiences here on this thread. All the best!
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Amcon Interview Next Phase! by danny2010(f): 6:26pm On May 30, 2011
I relocated to Nigeria when I got fed up of the UK! lol I lived in a pretty remote part of the UK- very very few blacks so I can imagine how Canada is like,
I got tired of my brief stint living abroad and am definitely not interested in exploring other countries! All the best with your work permit though. May God grant you your heart desires in Jesus name.

I do not have any email address i can put up here atm but if you send your email add, i would send you my personal email add grin

Cheers.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Amcon Interview Next Phase! by danny2010(f): 3:04pm On May 30, 2011
@chuckd77
it was a finance role. I heard of IT interviews as well - though i'm not sure of which specific IT roles. I applied for the PMO role as well but I was not called up for that- well, I'm better off with Finance anyways though wink You being in Canada makes things a little challenging to travel all the way to be interviewed! Just the airfare alone, wow!

I have not heard of anyone shortlisted for any other role , that's why I'm throwing this open to other folks that have been interviewed to share with the house.

I hear the pay would be better than CBN but its unconfirmed. It would be great to hear from anyone that has any idea.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Amcon Interview Next Phase! by danny2010(f): 12:57pm On May 30, 2011
@chuckd77
I'm not sure there are any recruitment exercises specifically for people out of the country. I've not heard of anyone that has been shortlisted for interviews who is out of the country.
I also think the most recent update mails were sent to all registered candidates on their database cos everyone seems to have received the mail.
Anyone that has been interviewed should feel free to share with the house please.

Does anyone have any ideas about the pay please?
