Dear VO,
Please, a friend of mine (who is a full time Pastor) got a 2yrs B1/B2 visa that was issued to him so he can attend a Christian conference in the US. However, with the new exchange rates, he is thinking of not travelling as the cost of travel has tremendously increased due to the high exchange rate. So my question is that if he doesn't go for this conference, how does it affect his visa and future entry into the US? Will he be able to enter the US for normal vacation and will he be able to renew by drop box in future if not used at all?
Thanks for your highly anticipated prompt response. |

Dentale: Dear Mamas and Papas, please there's no need to conceal the fact that you're pregnant. It's not a crime as long as you have made preparations. Really these frequent "change of intent" emails may start to lose value. It's not really chaget of intent because that was your intention ab initio. I had a choice to use Dropbox but after learning from favouredgal and others that sometimes they hold on to your passport for weeks and then call you for interview, hubby and I decided to go for an interview. When I showed up I was almost 35 weeks preggers Nd looking more like 42 weeks . Hubs said people were looking at me like "is this woman crazy! Coming to interview with big belle" lol anyway interview didn't take long at all. I'll transcribe below Visa Officer: good morning Hubs n I: good morning VO: looks at our passports and says we should have used drop box instead of coming all the way Me: we decided to come because we learnt that we may be invited for an interview since I'm going to have a baby. VO: smiles and says "that makes sense" VO: I see you're going to Florida. Have you contacted a doctor? Me: Yes, showing him my appointment confirmation VO: When are you due? Me: January .. VO: How much is it going to cost you? Hubby: Approximately 10K VO: Types for a while and says your visas have been approved. He didn't ask for documents at all. Except for my appointment letter from the Doctor. People around were looking shocked even the security lol cos they had assumed we were going to be thoroughly questioned and maybe rejected. I'm not saying everyone's interview will be that brief and uneventful but if you're prepared there won't be a problem. We carried both our bank statements and receipts from my first delivery yet didn't show them. Fast forward to POE at Miami. Travelled with mum and son CBP: Welcome to Miami. Are you here on vacation? Me: I'm here to have a baby. CBP asks my mum when last she was in the US. She just returned November and also went with me for my 1st childbirth. CBP asked how long she stayed when my son was born? We both answered 2 months. Then he stamps her in for 6 months and stamps my son's passport. Then tells me to come with him to verify some info. I was preparing for those long Houston detentions. Lol. Turned out otherwise. When we got to the other room, he handed my passport to another guy and left. The guy looked into my passport and entered some data into his system. He was looking at his screen then less than 5 mins later he called my name and handed my passport back to me and aside I was free to go. We declared food but nothing was seized. Now doing some sightseeing and shopping before baby comes next month. Honesty is always the best policy. Especially when you are asked a direct question about requiring medical care. Many agents are clueless and will bring you more harm than good. Best to stay away from them. Wishing everyone a happy yuletide. I sincerely pray people will learn that being truthful and honest is the best way. |

firsttymum: no one is angry with u.
But u lied and that's a huge thing. Change of intent is if u got ur visa for vacation and u weren't asked about being pregnant and den u now wanna go give birth... In that case it's change of intent.
I did notification of intent cos I hade travelled with my visa and when I was going to give birth I had to notify the embassy.
So if u lied when asked, at the poe may b turned back... So u out rightly lied. That's not all, all u told the VO has been imputed into d system.
So 1. It's either u travel to the US and come back 2. You take d risk and travel and pray fervently that u pass tru the poe smoothly. But note renewing ur visa will b a big deal because of this lie. 3. You save your self the risk of deportation and give birth to d baby here. Supported. |

Licious801: I think your statement is very insensitive. You asked me earlier and I told you that I only discovered this thread after I got my visa. I didn't lie cos I wasn't even asked by the vo. And then I went ahead to mention to you that I used an agent who asked me to hide the fact from the vo. I even stated in my first post how I regret using an agent and wish I knew about this thread b4 applying. I don't think anyone in their right mind would go ahead and lie after spending weeks reading through other people's experiences on this thread. I already read through and have gotten most of what I wanted. The only reason I commented was because I liked the give back spirit and I'm also willing to give back when I have valuable info as I go along on this journey. I could be selfish like my friend who hooked me up to this thread, she's in the US now to have her baby using info she got off this thread without giving back please let's be careful how we treat each other. Some of us are hormonal and really sensitive Please calm down. Thanks for the clarification of your position. |

LadyGuinivere: I try to keep quiet these dayts cos I tend to very strong abt my opinion when folks know the truth YET refuse it and YET post it. The other poster knew about the thread yet lied. Same with thisperson. Thank God somebody just gisted how his visa was revoked. People lie, risk deportation and worst for me is the making It harder for honest applicants in future. Lies like these make the change of intent worthless at poe.hm! I really don't understand people. They have been very educated on visa application name how to resolve visa issues through this thread. Despite being strongly advised to say the truth at the interview, some people will still lie then use the "letter of intent letter" to try correcting their lies. The "letter of intent" is meant to make life easier for those that genuinely didn't plan to give birth but had a change of plan or those that intended visiting only but now wants to put to bed. I pray this people that abuse the process stop posting their abuse of the system online. It is better they keep quiet than ruin the chances of sincere people that plan to apply in future. May God help us. |

oradew: Hello,
Two years back Myself & My Wife have been granted Multiple B2 Visa with 5 Year validity , we had been to US, she had Baby Birth in US. I visited the consulate after a while in order to get some documents ready for my Baby in order to get the US Passport, when I was there, the Officer has figured out that the reason behind being in US wasn't for pleasure, and it was for my wife to give a birth in US so our baby gets US Citizenship, hence he told me that "we believe that you were not honest your intention to visit US" and your Visa will be revoked, with a red pen he has written "REVOKED" on my Visa. I have couple of questions in this regard:
1. Is it possible for me to get a Visa to US in the future for pleasure? 2. Is it possible for me to get a Visa to US in the future for Business? 3. If I have been selected in the DV Green Card Lottery, will this case effect my chance to get an immigrant visa? 4. Will my wife's Visa be revoked as well? 5. What will be the situation if my Wife travel again to US for another Childbirth?
Appreciate your response

I am at a loss as to how the crime rate sky-rocketed after Fashola's tenure. The present Lagos state government has invested a lot in security, yet it is on the increase. This shows there is something wrong somewhere that must be addressed. I have told my wife never to move at night again till further notice. |

abujaniv: Hello cleric,
The same answer applies for your situation as well. Plans can change - so the most important part for ALL interviews is to be honest and completely transparent about your purpose of travel. It is best to disclose to the officer immediately that your wife plans to have a baby in the U.S. and NOT to wait until the officer asks if she is expecting.
Regards, Abuja NIV Team Hello VO, Thank you so much. This was most enlightening. |

Dear VO,
My wife will be about 20 weeks pregnant when attending her interview and her stomach is already bulging. The holiday plan is for her and my son to spend 21 days with family friends in Maryland then return to Nigeria. But she wants to use the holiday period to choose a hospital and doctor so that she could return later to have our next baby there. She has grown scared of Nigerian hospitals as she nearly lost her life during delivery of our first son in one of the top and popular hospitals in Lagos State. This also prompted us to change hospitals to another top hospital in Lagos Island but I am afraid that we are still not completely satisfied with the medical services despite their huge bills. As a result of this phobia for Nigerian hospitals, she is determined to have our next baby in the US where she can get better medical attention.
My question is that during the interview should she categorically state that: 1. She is travelling to have her baby since she is going for holidays (using the opportunity to personally search for medical care that suits her) and would return later to have a baby in the US? 2. She is going for holidays with a high chance of going back to have her baby in the US? 3. She is just going for holidays since this is the reason for the immediate travel?
Or would you advise she tries to get in touch with a medical practitioner first before travelling?
Thank you in advance for your usual prompt responses. |

If u also experience some pains whilst urinating, then get treated for STD. U can use antibiotics like augmetin (sold for about 3k). Stop having sex too regularly. By this, I mean releasing sperm by whatever means. This could be as a result of bursted veins. If this does not work, please see ur doctor as this could also be cancer or kidney problems. Refusal to treat this kind of STD could lead to sterility. Be warned.
Finally, tell that girl to go STD tests. Both of you should discretely get tested for HIV as well. |

So he drives one towards adekunle. He should have anounced it to his passengers b4 going through it I know of the route as well. However, I agree that it could be a hide out for criminals. |

LagosNIV: You are travelling separately, so why would it jeopardize your chances to state that you are travelling separately? If this is the truth, then it is the story you should go with. Fabricating a story that you think the VO wants to hear is much more likely to jeopardize everyone's chances. Thank you so much. Although I didn't mean we should say something that the VO wants to hear. What I meant is perhaps to arrange her travels in such a way that we can attend the interview together but state that we are travelling separately and to different states. Your answer has killed any apprehension I have. Thank you so much. |

Dear VO, I planned for my wife and son (1yr) to spend 3 weeks in January with a family friend in the states. However, her appointment is for the last week in December which is when I will be offshore and as such cannot attend the interview with them. I do not plan to travel with them in January but plan to visit a different friend of mine in another state in April. I therefore put my appointment for January when I will be on rotation leave and thus can attend the interview. My fear is that this arrangement may raise unnecessary suspicions as to why we booked appointments separately, travelling on holidays separately and going to different states. I don't want to jeopardise the chances of my wife and kid obtaining the visa; would you suggest we apply as a family rather than separately in this case?
Thanks in advance for your response. |
