Health / Re: Someone, Help, This Is An Emergency! by Dapo4u(m): 3:27pm On Jul 04, 2008
There is a chance you must have been injected on the sciatic Nerve(history).Based on the history and mechanism of injury (2 months ago), it points to nueropraxia( mild injury) which only affects the conduction property of the nerve.If this is the case, it will go away with time.
Another clue,it may be a trigger point pain(forget about the medical jargon), or possibly referred pain from your lower back.
My advice: Seek medical advice from a qualified orthopaedic surgeon/ physiotherapist.
cheers
Travel / Re: How Do I Locate Eket-oron Road, Uyo. From Lagos by Dapo4u(m): 12:02am On Jun 21, 2008
Your question is a bit sketchy.Are you traveling with your car?Well I did my NYSC in Ikot Ekpene in 2002, from Aba to Ikot Ekpene is about 25-30 minutes.Eket-Oron Road in UYO is also about 25 -30 minutes from Ikot Ekpene.But if you are going by a public bus,there could be a slight variation.Nonetheless if you are going for interview I would rather advice you leave on Sunday(7:30 pm) at Ikorodu Bus termnal(Ikorodu road,Fadeyi) if you reside in Lagos, you should be in Uyo by 7.00am on Monday.I hope it helps or else go to Ikorodu Road after the overhead bridge(Onipanu/Fadeyi Bus stop), check out USA bus terminal.
Travel / Re: Mind-boggling Nigerianphobia Tales in South Africa, Bellview Airlines intervenes by Dapo4u(m): 8:50pm On Dec 27, 2007
I think Wany may not be right in his assertion but some of you who have not lived in South Africa might not be objective in your your crtiticism.The only thing I do know as a SA resident is that most Nigerians of 'East' extractions are into various nefarious criminal activities and top on the list is DRUGS.Every Nigerian is labelled a peddler and dont forget one of the SA journalists dubbed OBJ as drud peddler in one his visits to SA.In as much as I dont concur with the feelings that most crimes in SA are being committed by Nigerians then one should not lose sight of 'these' bad elements that have eaten deep into Nigeria regalia.Let these people know that 'what is striking and beautiful is not always good but what is good is always beautiful'
Politics / Re: Yoruba As Official Language Of Lagos House Of Assembly! by Dapo4u(m): 5:13pm On Dec 05, 2007
@Jerrymania
What is the fuss about Lagos and Yoruba state?.How does it affect you going about your normal duty as a resident if you are one?. grin
Politics / Re: Yoruba As Official Language Of Lagos House Of Assembly! by Dapo4u(m): 4:55pm On Dec 05, 2007
@Jerrymania
In as much as I agree with your assertion, i think you got it wrong by saying Lagos is not a Yoruba state.I think the problem here is not about Lagos House of Reps  adopting Yoruba as a  medium of deliberation, but our hatred for other tribes which is deep rooted in our develpmental milestones.If Lagos Reps think that is a genuine way to bring governance to the people let it be in as much it doesnt affect Lagosians be it Ibos,Hausas,Edos etc. going about their normal businesses.
South Africa has eleven official languages, you are free to express yourself in any one that suits you, nobody complains, Thabo Mbeki(SA president) speaks his mother tongue language(Xhosa) on a national forum, nobody gives a hue.I think it is high time we started respecting others ways of life.
Romance / Re: Is It Me, Or My Citizenship? by Dapo4u(m): 6:36pm On Nov 27, 2007
@btayo-1
You have said it all.It is quite amazing how people make a hasty opinion of trivial issues.
If I was in this guy shoe, I need to regularize my stay agreed, who says I cant apply for postgrad studies? who says I cant do "arrangee"? who says I cant seek help from fellow Nigerians with right 'networking'?
In a nutshell, as a student in the US, sky is not even your limit.
@poster
My advice, you dont have to be pushed into an 'early' marriage if you are not ready and travel out from your insecured shell and be prayerful, 'all that glitters is not gold'
Politics / Re: Nlanders List Your 5. Top Nigerian Criminals Of Your Choice + Reasons. by Dapo4u(m): 8:54pm On Nov 25, 2007
1. Ribadu ( will put his head on the block that OBJ and his cohorts are not corrupt)

2.OBJ  ( thinks he is a saint -there are evidences of widespread corruptions during
   his regime)

3.Alh.Dangote( OBJ right-hand man, donated N250m to OBJ library, given SOLE!!!  right to import rice,sugar)- in a country of 150m!

4.ALL SOUTHSOUTH GOVS.(Attah,Odili,Ibori,Alamie,Baba VP) with enormous amount of money allocated to those states, nothing to show for it.

5.Some pastors and Imams- you guys know them.
My opinion.
Education / Re: Project Topic by Dapo4u(m): 6:36pm On Nov 21, 2007
@gfather,
As far as I do know, I dont think it is ideal for people to suggest a topic for you to work on unless it is an ongoing project.I would rather advice you bring forth your OWN vision, initiatives,ideas of what you want to achieve, people with superior expertise will then give you a sense of direction.Good luck in your endeavours.

Health / Re: Pain by Dapo4u(m): 8:09pm On Sep 10, 2007
Wouldnt advice you to take drugs without your physician's advice and most especially the adverse effects of most pian killers (NSAIDS).Sharp neck pain could be due to positional fault(wrong position of the neck while asleep), wear and tear of neck bone if you are above 35 years(ref) and other medical conditions beyond the scope of this forum.So am I saying? consult your GP for medical advice.
Romance / Re: Should I Come To Naija Following A Break In School? by Dapo4u(m): 8:28pm On Sep 03, 2007
@ $$Rhino,
I so much appreciate your blunt suggestion,I must say you are wonderful.I did speak to her today,though we agreed I should come next year since I will be coming to Nigeria by August 2008 to attend a conference in Abuja God's willing.You never can say,who knows what God can do before December?I could come and spend 2 weeks like you said.
Kind regards.
Romance / Should I Come To Naija Following A Break In School? by Dapo4u(m): 10:22pm On Sep 01, 2007
My learned Nairaland users,
I need you guys constructive opinion, God reward you as you do so.A friend indeed is the one who will be with you when others are somewhere else.
I left the shore of Nigeria two (2) years ago for greener pastures but it is not a bed of roses.Less I forget,before I left My wife was pregnant, now my son is 2 year old,NEVER met, we only communicate through phone.I really salute my wife's bravery and endurance.Now I am in my first year in school (South Africa to be precise), pursuing a Masters programme which will take me two solid years to complete.It has not been easy ,studying and working to make both ends meet.Now my wife wants me in Nigeria by December,she is loosing patience! And I am not bouyant to make such a trip! why? how do I convince teeming of relatives when I am Nigeria that I have been stydying all these years that I dont have money,would I be able to stay indoor for 2 months?.My problem is I dont have enough money to make the trip,I asked my wife to let me finish my programme by next year but she doesnt want to hear that.And I so much agree with her,I have been away for too long!What should I do?Should I damn all the consequences and I come to naija before we resume for the second year in February next year?
N.B
only my wife and parents know I am stydying for my postgrad, others dont believe me and have been disturbing me to assist them which I try to explain my ordeal to them,do they believe me? i dont think so.
Please what should i do?
I am counting on you guys.
Romance / Re: True Life Story, Pls Advice Urgently by Dapo4u(m): 6:05pm On Aug 17, 2007
That lady she called a wife is a disgrace to women folk.I hate it when people are blinded by lust,I would rather remain a divorcee and be happier than be co-habiting with an adulterous wife and be living with fear for the rest of my life.Brother! there are beautifu and decent girl out there,be prayerful ,stay focused, and go to a decent place when looking for a partner not a club.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: At Last, Thierry Henry Is Off To Barca by Dapo4u(m): 4:44pm On Jun 23, 2007
I am an sorry I was an ardent Gunners fan while Kanu was with Gunner, then I wanted to follow Kanu suit but Eewo,I would rather stay back at Arsenal than going to Westbrom.Now Igwe cry,the Gunners you have lost another fan.I am off to Barca.Hopefully we would get to meet in CL.

[i]It happened when I went to pick up application form for further studies in of the universities here.That morning I was pressed I had to quickly find a toilet before I poo poo for body grin. Heavens were let loose whe I started hearing female voices shocked.What is happening? my God,I am in a lady's loo! grin.How do I convince them of my innocence in a country where rape is rampant particularly among the college students,being black doesnt help much.I had to wait say like TWO HOURS! while I was sure there was nobody in the vicinity before I could take to my heel grin [i]Have you found yourself in the same scenario before? grin

Please Nairaland users I need your candid opinion!

*Left for SA in 2005 in search of  a greener pasure.
*Coundnt practice becuase of regulatory and licence stuff which takes 3 years before validation(no thanks to naija cert.)
*Couldnt get jobs because of umemployment saga !(unskilled and semiskilled) in South Africa
*Managed to enroll for postgrad  this year (2yr programme) with the hope of a work-study programme(yet to get one)
*presently I am struggling financially with a part time work!
*Married with a son back home( no monthly stipends)
*Thinking of exit my programme by December 2007 where I could be awarded postgrad diploma and
*Then apply for another postgrad programme either in Uk or Maylasia for better oportunities
Anyway if I decided to stay till 2008 for completion of MSc ,I would still have to leave here becuase for another country,so I am thinking the early the better.Nothing in South africa

This is a national crisis and if nothing is done to arrest this ugly trend,I wonder what awaits the coming generations.I was ovejoyed when when I left Naija for greener pastures not knowing that I wont be welcome outside the country once you identity yourself as a Nigerian.Anywhere you go,everybody treats you as an unidentified criminal,drug peddler,internet scamer,hacker,sniffer,the list is endless.No matter how hard government tries to improve the standard of living,these criminals will never desist from this heinous crime! greediness,laziness and lack of perseverance has become the order of the day.What is the way out? very stiff penalties not necessarily by firing squad grin grin,but very harsh punishment should be meted out to whoever that is caught and have their properties confistcated priod.
