Culture › Re: 7 Stereotypes Of Igbos That Aren’t Always True by dapotemi: 12:20am On Jan 15, 2015
I really do not like contributing to topic like this because of what NL is turning to with the abuse/insult flying around, which,to me is totally unnecessary.I waited for someone out there to ask the question i have in mind but it seems that will not happen soon..I need an honest answer, though i have my opinion but it could be stereotype for all i care.
I have assisted atleast 3 of my igbo friends to stand as "front" to rent house in lagos and Abuja within the last couple of years.Pls,why is it that landlords/house-owners are always scared to rent their house to igbo..In some street in lagos, landlord association will even hold meetings to warn members categorically not to give their house to igbo.Secondly,i also notice that those landlord that dont heed such warning most times end up with regret (not ALL of them though),but most of them, atleast to a large extent that could trigger a stereotype..Those that usually have dealings with agents in lagos and Abuja will agree with me of one usual question b4 they give you their house/room;"Shei the tenant na igbo",if u dare answer YES,u might not get d house..Why is that so?Is there anything the igbos are not doing right?Constructive answer pls,i really want to know.
Politics › PDP Loses 9 Senators To APC by dapotemi(op): 1:45pm On Jan 14, 2015
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) now has 64 senators in the national assembly compared with 41 belonging to the All Progressives Congress (APC), after Tuesday’s defection of nine of its senators to the leading opposition party.

The senators who defected are Ita Enang (Akwa Ibom north-east), Ahmed Zannah (Borno central), Nurudeen Abatemi-Usman (Kogi central), Atiku Bagudu, (Kebbi central), Barnabas Gemade (Benue north-east), Saidu Alkali (Gombe north), Bassey Otu (Cross River south), Mohammed Magoro (Kebbi south) and Helen Esuene (Akwa Ibom).

Ita Enang, one of the defecting senators, promised to work for his new party but still pledged his presidential allegiance to Jonathan.

“I am working for the APC to ensure that it wins governorship election down to any other position,” he said.

“I will only work for Jonathan for presidency.”

Gemade, another defector, lost the PDP senatorial primary election to Gabriel Suswam, Benue state governor. But he has since been given the APC ticket to return to the senate.

Other senators who defected blamed their action on the PDP leadership, which allegedly gave the senatorial tickets to governors.

Politics › Re: Buhari Is Number One Enemy 0f Yoruba People – Minister Of State For Works by dapotemi: 2:29pm On Jan 13, 2015
babyosisi:
Sadly many Yoruba youths are blinded by Jonathan hatred and herd mentality and can't see beyond their noses
Go home and ask your fathers to tell you some history
I still dont understand why you're so passionate about "failure"...I should vote someone whose govt collected money from job seekers, millions of naira babyosisi for a job that has already been allocated to cronies. Are u aware or do u know the number of people that died because of that singular act?Do u remember what GEJ told the minister in charge of that recruitment?Do u know that the minister is still working unhindered?I know one of the families that lost their son in that sham of a recruitment.I am inviting u to come and persuade them to vote your goodluck..It's not ONLY GEJ and Buhari that will appear on the ballot paper come Febuary 14...I dont knw GMB,i was a kid in 1985,but i know GEJ and PDP very well, both cannot do better than what they've been doing since 1999(GEJ has always been part of govt since 1999) I dont know if it will be a mistake to vote GMB,but i'm 100% sure voting GEJ will be disastrous..I want to see Nigeria move forward,If GMB cannot do that,i'll vote him OUT whenever the opportunity present itself. That is the beauty of democracy. It shouldn't be "it is my turn because i'm ijaw"...I dont condemn people because of what they did 30 years ago,i'll challenge you because of what you are DOING RIGHT NOW..If we are to be judge base on what we have done, lets say 20 years ago, most of us will not be standing today..i want to be able to tell my kids that i did my best to support a #CHANGE...In my office, nobody, most especially the yorubas has ever said he/she wont vote GEJ because he is Ijaw or because his name is Azikiwe, its just base on Performance! These are first time voters. They are not young, but this is the first time they are showing interest in who becomes their president..Thesame way OBJ fails,GEJ has fail too.Everyday, you move closer and closer to being a Tribalist...are u related to edwin clark?Mayb me sef go soon join Missmeiya in her decision!

Honestly something is not right here..Do u know that most of the posts we are putting here should not be read by the patient. This to me is unprofessional and totally unacceptable.I understand that people are frustrated, including myself, with the way things are going,BUT pls dont let us throw professionalism into the dustbin,it is who we are!
You dont need to be a medics to know that something is wrong with whatever they think they are doing in that hospital in lagos,i smell foul play. It's just sad that close to a million naira has been spent and yet nothing much have been achieved (from the hospital end,NOT from Tehn),we dont even know what exactly is wrong with the young man.I might not agree with babyosisi on so many other stuff, but i'll stand with her on one thing she suggested more than a month ago, even before this boy left to Eruwa,LETS FLY THIS YOUNG MAN TO INDIA!
IF we had considered that earlier,i'm sure we'll be somewhere by now, nevertheless kudos to Tehn, they did their best considering the prevailing circumstances.May God bless us with good leaders, those ones that we see the need to upgrade our hospitals.
