T. in his name stands for the name Tanifeani which is a pretty common Igbo name, he was given that name by his grandmother who passed down the history of his family to him, telling of how they were descendents of the Igbo tribe and much in the same way in how Alex Haley family remembered and passed down many words of their earliest African ancestor in America, "Kunta Kinte", the same was done within Booker Tanifeani Washington's family in relation to their Igbo ancestry. By the way, over 60% of the AA population is believed to be of some significant portion of Igbo ancestry. Some other well known AA of proven Igbo descent are: Danny Glover T.D. Jakes Forest Whitaker Meagan Good The Jackson family Famous historical boxer "Jack Johnson" Famous historical musician " Paul Robeson" just to name a few, for now. |
What Ethnic group is she from? |
I live a few houses down from a nice Hausa girl who's married to this very nice AA Muslim doctor, she's a doctor as well. They're both Muslim but neither of them or their kids wear all of that Muslim garb. |
Rgp92:A lot of you fools on this site seriously need to take some ESL classes, because your English is atrocious to say the least. I mean, you seriously have the nerve to attempt to make fun of someone, while speaking in the manner in which you do? REALLY, really? ![]() |
That's the truth. |
It's proven fact that nearly 60% of us AA are of some significant amount Igbo descent. |
Mrs.Chima:I've not told anyone what they should do, I've only suggested. |
I just wanted to know how many of you think you'll end up marrying a person of your own nationality or someone not of your nationality. This question is mostly for those who live outside of their native nation. I ask because I've noticed a rather high rate of African guys whom are not married, dating and or engaged to a African girl. The vast majority of the African guys I personally know, especially the middle aged and young ones, are settled with mostly AA and White girls, and it's a shame that more African girls do not seek to date outside of their nationality or even ethnic group, because at the rate at which their guys are dating out here in the US, well I'll leave it at that. |
tpiah!:Hispanic isn't a race, Hater. |
Why is it that you always constantly hear about some African guy killing their African wives here in the US, yet not once have I heard of one whom is married to an American doing so? Is it because they regret having married a fellow African when they could of married an American? ![]() |
Obiagu1:Well, I'm not directly mixed but rather generationally mixed, as is the case with most of us AA, and even though most of my family's Native and European mixture place about 4 and 5 generations in the past at the earliest, it still shows up pretty strong in my family for some odd reason. Not only are our kids hair curly, but it's also Brunet colored, which is also a common trait on my mothers side of the family, and our daughter's eyes are starting to turn hazel colored. My Wife's sister also married an AA guy, and both their son and daughter have hazel eyes and Brunet hair as well, and he is only generationally mixed as well. tpiah!:Not directly, just generationally so. |
Well, Creole folks are simply AA whom are of French, Native and African mixture, generally AA whom come from the Gulf region of the nation, as appose to most other AA whom tend to be of Anglo-Germanic, Native and African mixture. |
He's trying to play you for a sucker, Sis. Tell him to kick rocks next time he tries to slither his slimy self upon you. |
MzDarkSkin:Hey, is that you in your Avatar pic? |
