PoliticsRe: FG Suspends DANA Airline's License. by DaRapture: 6:15am On Jun 06, 2012
Kobojunkie: Show me proof of the claim you made above please! Government has to FIRST make sure that it is not WRONG in its assumption BEFORE it can go this far.

Planes crash around the world too. Nigeria no be the first. If Governments rushed to suspend licenses like this, how many airlines do you think will be in business?
Believe me when I tell you that if my gov. became aware of the many negligent issues surrounding one of our Airlines as those obtaining to Dana, not only would they had promptly eliminated their right to operate in this nation, but they'd of already prosecuted the owners, and engineers involved in the maintenance of the crashed plane. They would of surly made an example out of them, as a forewarning to the other operating airlines. Nigeria's gov. would be wise to do the same in this instance. Another company will surly come along soon to fill the Dana void, and rest assured that that company will be much more on top of their game than the later.
PoliticsRe: Corruption In Aviation Sector Caused Dana Air Crash – CPC Publicity Secretary by DaRapture: 5:25pm On Jun 05, 2012
Slyr0x: The Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) and its Presidential Candidate in the last 2011 general elections, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), have attributed the last Sunday Dana aircraft crash to the high level of corruption ravaging the nation.

The Party who expressed shocked over the incident which claimed the lives of 153 passengers, also called for probe over the untimely death of the victims.

Buhari personally said the corruption in the Aviation sector was the major reasons why planes crashed in the country.

The former Military Head of State noted that “two former Ministers of Aviation are undergoing prosecution for corruption.

“This pervasive corruption by the successive PDP-led Federal Government, as regards administration of the aviation sector, have corrupted this important sector of the nation state that industry’s best practices are often circumvented at will by the airline operators. The result of these infractions is what we witness with Air disasters!”

According to a statement in Abuja by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Rotimi Fashakin, said “But we doubt the sincerity of the PDP-led Federal Government in unearthing the real causes of these disasters.”

Fashakin said the weak handling of the probes will never get the country to develop positively.

Yeah, so says one of major beneficiaries of such extensive corruption. cheesy So, this gov. didn't seek to deal with this curruption in the sector before it lead to the loss of lives? Nigeria and most of Africa as a whole is not only backward, but upside down as well. cheesy

PoliticsRe: Lekki Deep Sea Port, Approved. Largest Of Its Kind In Sub-saharan Africa- by DaRapture: 9:52pm On May 30, 2012
I'll pay attention to this project when I actually see some construction going on. Whatever happened to that giant international Airport that was supposed to be being built in Lekki? A couple years back it was all the rave, of future development, and now you don't hear anything about it. cheesy

ondo_boi: just cant get ma eyes off this bakassi
You're eyes are playing tricks on you. The one on the right is flat, and the one on the left is average. These chicks are a disappointment to classic African body figure, your everyday AA females have much better bodies than what I'm seeing in these pictures. cheesy
PoliticsRe: Armed Forces Ready For Any Crisis - Defence Min. Mohamed by DaRapture: 6:47pm On May 18, 2012
andrewza: From your post I can say your Aif force needs modern jets. Those F7Ni or Mig 19 where out dated when you bought them. Your new ships are actually pretty good for there intended job. I would add some helicopter operating OPV,s to the list. Your Ground based Air defense is great your. Your front line grunt is still using AK47 witch could use a upgrade if there is cash to spare. I can go on your military is mentioned in a lot of reports and defense journals.
Strong? Compared to who? Egypt, SA, Algeria.. would all kick Nigeria's azz with the weapons they have. The only thing Nigeria has going for it is numbers.
PoliticsRe: Armed Forces Ready For Any Crisis - Defence Min. Mohamed by DaRapture: 5:23pm On May 18, 2012
andrewza: Well what about Iraq and afghanistan. The AK47 is not great it not bad either a good weapon for solders of average quality since it can take more abuse. The m16 is better hands down, it is lighter, has greater accuracy, has incredibly low recoil but it needs a solder who will look after it probably.a solder needs marksmanship most trained solders don't even go full auto since they can get 1 shot 1 kill
Exactly. The M16 is a REAL soldiers rifle, not amateurs and renegades such as what Nigeria's military is full of. cheesy
PoliticsRe: Armed Forces Ready For Any Crisis - Defence Min. Mohamed by DaRapture: 5:10pm On May 18, 2012
andrewza: That has nothing to do with the wepaon and every thing to dowith the shooter. A properly looked after AK 47 will hit a mane size target up to 300 away.
The gun is a dinosaur. It's too heavy, too noisy, too sloppy, and extremely wasteful on ammunition. 300yrds in this day and age is a death trap when faced with any formidable force with up to date assault rifles. An M16 and M14 can drop you dead in your tracks at over 500 yards with one shot, and you'll be dead before you hear the shot because the gun fires at a velocity of over 1000fps greater than the AK, and they are up to and above 4 pounds lighter in weight than the AK. The American rifles also fire off much quicker; with an average dispersal ability of about 260 more rounds a minute than the AK. While the American rifles are light and fitted with advance recoil systems to absorb kick, thus keeping the gun on target, the AK just sprays bullets all over the place as it kicks around like a Jackass in heat. cheesy The AK is for amateurs and renegade military's. cheesy
PoliticsRe: Armed Forces Ready For Any Crisis - Defence Min. Mohamed by DaRapture: 4:50pm On May 18, 2012
andrewza: It should sen has a good thing. If you loose all the F7Ni jets you can replace them with a real fighter. I recomened the SU 27
That'll be a foolish move for Nigeria, who's alliance is with the Anglo nations (US and UK). What they need to is begin to affiliate themselves with US and UK weapon systems, and this is a perfect time for them to do so. The US and UK both are fazing out very formidable weapons systems like the F-16 and 15, Cobra assaults, Harriers and more.. to make room for a barrage of new stealth designs like the F-22 Raptor and and F-35. Friendlies like Nigeria are being offered F-16's and such at very lucrative deals right about now by the US and UK governments.
PoliticsRe: Armed Forces Ready For Any Crisis - Defence Min. Mohamed by DaRapture: 2:20pm On May 18, 2012
andrewza: nothing wrong with the AK 47(though i would use a newer moddel)

but yes a lot of your stuff is real dated, or out classet.
The AK is a wasteful second hand weapon, a poor man's M16/M14. It just sprays bullets, with maybe every 5 out of 30 bullets hitting the target.
