PoliticsRe: Three New Refineries Coming Says Works Minister by DaRapture: 4:19am On Jan 09, 2012
Those of you whom are saying silly stuff like, "let them build the Refineries first and then cut the subsidy" don't know a damn thing about economics. The fact of the matter is this, the gov. is trying to totally get out of the oil and gas business, same as they got out of the telecom business by privatizing it.

This is a GOOD thing people. As you can see, as soon as the gov. turned over the communications network of the nation to private hands, the industry grew astronomically. The gov. is admitting that it is a horrible business organizer, and is attempting to clean it's hands of all of their corporate entities, and the only way for them to make such an exchange in the oil and gas business is for them to cut all direct ties to that industry and allow for private corporations to come in and take it over.  This process is the DEREGULATION process.

Now that the gov. has cut it's ties, private corporations will very soon come and place their bids to begin filling that void, via a gradual and or mass development of refineries, tank farms, and filling stations, just as foreign Telecom companies came flocking in to develop and expand the nation's Telecom network once the gov. washed it's hand of it. With Nigeria being a mass source of oil and gas, the domestic price of the fuel will most likely, in time drop below the N65 subsidized price, once the private developers complete their refineries and other related developments in the nation, but non of this can get started until the gov. withdraws its hand out of the market.

ziga:
The biggest drain is our corrupt government. Therefore, it is unfair, greedy, selfish of them to expect Nigerians to sit back and take this when they are in fact the ones receiving/stealing/blackmailing for free money.
Then why is it that you'al haven't protested in mass against that?
PoliticsRe: Shocking Police Brutality On An Occupy Lagos Protester by DaRapture: 7:22am On Jan 05, 2012
I agree with Beef. Fuel subsidy is very bad for economic growth. The billions spent on maintaining it, is desperately needed more, in the creation of jobs in which are much more in need than the few naira in which subsidy saves for you. It also opens the market up fro companies to come in and develop more and more efficient refineries in the nation, in which will lead to conditions that'll drive down the price of fuel in the nation, via the elimination of import fees, and increased stockpiles of fuel present in the nation. You'all whom are protesting are Fools, who know nothing of economic progression.

You can't have your cake and eat it too. The world doesn't work like that. And in case you were wondering why news agencies such as CNN and BBC were not covering this crap, it's simply because it's, as is typical for Africa, ASZ BACKWARD. What's new? You'all need to get your ish together, stop making a spectacle of yourselves, get off the banana boat, and start protesting on more productive issues like, Boka Harram, in which is blowing up ish all over the place. Do an occupy Abuja on that, march the streets in protest of that. Hit the streets in protest of a lack of job creation, credit provisions, high school fees, Federal Corruption.

I find it mighty Niggardly of you all, to all of a sudden find the balls and pride to rush out in protest over the government cutting back on some freebies they were giving you, but lack the same desire to do so in defense of job creation, police brutality, security issues and other trying interest in the nation. I don't mean to sound harsh, but it's the truth.

I've never in my life met an AA who bleaches nor would ever even think of doing so. Now many of you speak of how when you walk into these black cosmetic care stores the shelves are supposedly always "FILLED" with these creams. LOL. Well first of all, I've personally have walked into loads of these stores with my wife, mother, sisters and past girl friends,  and I honestly can't recall ever seeing these creams in them, while I'm sure I would of noticed them if in fact these stores with LOADED with them as some of you all claim them to be.  cheesy Secondly, if,  as you claim, the shelves are always loaded with them,  wouldn't that be a sign of that such products aren't selling too well, else the shelves in which posess them would not be all that loaded.  undecided

Let's face it people, while AA females have quite a bit of issues, this is clearly not one of them, and while I'm sure of the fact that there are many AA girls out here who do used these products, it's no where near as great of a numbers as what you would find among Asians, Caribbeans, Hispanics, and especially African girls.

PoliticsRe: Breaking News: Fuel Subsidy Removed by DaRapture: 4:20pm On Jan 01, 2012
The US gas prices are set in gallons. 1Gallon is = to 3 3/4 Liters. The US average for gas/petro is about $3.30 right now. So that means that its only about 88 cents per Liter, which is like 88 Naira per liter.
PoliticsRe: Breaking News: Fuel Subsidy Removed by DaRapture: 3:43pm On Jan 01, 2012
N141? What is that in Dollars, like only $1.41? The cheapest gas here in the US as high as $3.15 right now though the national average is about $3.30 right now.

You all should make sure you go out to the theaters this January to watch "Red Tails" the epic story of the legendary African-American fighter pilots of WW2. The movie is being put out by renowned producer George Lucus, though is being directed by a promising up and coming AA film director, and the movie previews look outstanding, and talk is already a buzz about the movie being Oscar material. Check out the Trailer below.

Damn, it's about time. It took them years to build this thing, while the Chinese could of had it done in just a few months. Why does it take so long for them to build stuff in that nation?
