Daejoyoung: English is not our mother tongue in Africa and there's nothing to be proud of in being good at English, yet Kenyans and Ghanians here criticize Nigerian English, especially the Ghanians who have been fooled to believe they know and use the language better. My Point is Nigerians generally may not care about speaking English like native speakers, but in literature we have been global( much more than your Kenya and Ghana), even in things like scrabble which is specifically focussed on the knowledge of the language, we find ourselves competing with pure native speakers. Our English and accent is the most popular and recognizable in Africa due to Nollywood and our music |

samsobo24: Thank you for accepting that Narobi CCTVs are only in the CBD
Fashola had Launched.the use of CCTVs in Lagos as early as at 2013 in Lagos to curtail criminal activities in Lagos, about 10,000 CCTVs were installed
Now Gov Ambode installed additional 13,000 CCTVs plus CCTVs attached to the vans of Lagos state rapid response squad police and streetlights security sensors and not minding additional ones from FG
A place like Agege, oshodi etc all have street cameras
Lagos will start using smart street lights in order to detect and reduce traffic
Nairobi can't measure up with lagos
Now tell me those shantty towns in Nairobi has cameras There is even CCTV cameras on the newly procured 5,000 buses for public transport in Lagos |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by darfay: 3:24pm On Jan 11, 2019 |
rvp20183: What is the impact on crime. Installing CCTVs is part of the solution. You need an integrated approach like in Nairobi. It has go beyond camera - you need smart cameras with facial recognition, with number plate recognition, you need police officers armed with gis enabled video enabled gadgets, you need the whole shebang. That is why we invested 150M usd...which in Naira would be like nearly 600B NAIRA!
Can Lagos state afford to invest 600B Naira on smart security systems like Nairobi & Mombasa?
Our policing has greatly improved. Police have brand new cars because we no longer buy them but lease them - and they are operational 24-7s. We have hired more police and are about UN recommended size.
Our police have health and life insurances. Their terms of services have improved greatly.
And now we are digitizing police - all police are going to be computer trained - OB (occurrence book) and all police work will be digitized.
Yes they are still corrupt and thuggish - we have vetted and fired the really bad ones - but ultimately that challenge we will confront - easily when we have all these stuffs in place.
Otherwise nearly every serious private or public premise in any city now has CCTV - so installing CCTV - without monitoring center - or number plate recognition or facial recognition - is not helpful. $150million is #60 billion not #600billion Get your facts right And not only Lagos, Akwa ibom, Rivers and all other south South State can do that for their capitals |

Warripikin08: Just imagine people praising this man for this archaic project, compared to the allocation delta recieve. My fellow deltans wake up, PDP does not mean well for us. Is this an achievement to be proud of? I just saw some comments praising Delta state Governor as road master, I begin to wonder if some are brainwashed to the extent the can't make good use with their brain. Since how many years na only road PDP dey construct, change school roof maybe paint the school join. Then they begin see that as achievement and a very big project. I feel disappointed living in the same state with this primitive people. Tufiakwa I dey shame to be black man. Isn't there another option other than okowa for delta state? |

Denikayan: You are not brilliant
What has land mass got to do with revenue? I was expecting you to focus more on population pf Lagos with regards to Delta but thats for another day
Stop trying to stay at par with Lagos, Kano, Rivers and Abuja, Delta cant be in that league in the next 50years if those state stop developing
You talking about Ogun and Oyo, Please, whats in Delta? There are still more wild life and swamps than developed places in the state.
Its a glorified village called a town to just make it look decent. I know you will almost want to call Asaba or Warri a city! Hello, In all standards, Delta state as a whole is a village with a Government house. You were making sense until you started we cant move forward in 50yrs and shit. We have had demons for governors and even at that our igr is no 4 not to talk of oil.all it takes is 8yrs of good governance for a miracle to happen in delta. And what's with the delta state is a village ish.. If You don't have anything nice to say you don't have to comment here after all you are not from delta. Don't cry more than the bereaved |
